Kukki stretched himself in the base of their flower home, the smell of the fresh morning dew wafting around him. He yawned and looked around, something about the place seeming...different. He couldn't tell quite what it was, but he knew something had changed about their little tree home.

Aderyn was curled up, keeping the new additions to her family warm and cozy. Yes, laying cautiously against her side were four beautiful eggs. She dozed peacefully with them. It had been a wonderful night.

Kukki walked out into the sunlight and strained his eyes to look up at his mate, sleeping in the branches. She wasn't alone though. There were things with her. Small, moving, familiar thing. The children had arrived. "Hey there my dragon princess!"

Aderyn was awake in a flash, having eggs to protect now meant she was fulling aware of her surroundings, even in her usual deep sleep. "Hi Frog Prince." Aderyn looked down and huddles all her eggs together, before slowly descending with them to Kukki. She set them down gently and kissed Kukki on his cheek. "I love you~"

Kukki smiled as she came down, and returned a kiss of his own to match hers. "I love you too." He looked at all of the eggs and embraced them. "Wow, there's just as many as last time!"

"And this time I'll be here for them all. I promise Kukki. I do." Aderyn wouldn't allow herself to be a terribly mother again. Of course, she hadn't considered herself terrible, just missing. Missing more then a mother should be. This time, she'd remain with them all until they could wander on their own. She'd stay close to home if any of them ever needed her. She had to settle down eventually...

"That's wonderful, I know they won't appreciate it, but I will." He was speaking form his heart, it had been tough on him to be without her during their last litter's childhood. So much so, that he had begun to have doubts if Aderyn would ever return. That wasn't going to happen this time. The two of them would raise these whildren side by side, the right way!

Aderyn laughed at his comment. Children never liked their parents when they were younger, but as they grew older they grew used to them. "Really now? I think they'll love me!" She smiled and laughed cheerfully.

Kukki laughed and nodded. "Of course they'll love you. Just got to wait a few weeks and they'll tell you thet theirselves." He patted one of the eggs that was by her mother's tail and she vibrated cheerily.

Aderyn kept her smiled up, Kukki was right, she had no reason to be worried about her kids. They'd like her, she was almost sure of it. Still, she was worried. "We'll just have to wait and see." She nodded and wrapped her warm tail around her eggs.

Kukki nodded and saw the eggs wiggling in their mothers flaming tail. He laughed. "Look, they already love your warmth!" He lay down and placed his head on her tail. "As do I!"

"Lucky for them and you it doesn't actually burn anyone!" Aderyn wiggled her tail, sending little embers flying in the air. She laughed a bit as the eggs continued to wiggle happily. She loved having a family again.

Kukki continued to laugh as he snuggled into it. "That's right!" He reached over to stroke the eggs, they were so wonderful. He couldn't beleive that this was happening again; he was so lucky.

"So..." Aderyn paused, looking from her eggs to Kukki, then up at the afternoon sky. "All we have left to do now...Is wait for them to grow..." Kits were always fun and lovely. She could remember seeing her previous children in their young stages. Shortly after that, she'd left and barely been around.

Kukki nodded. "And then we will raise them completley together this time." He paused and looked up at her with eyes full of hope. "Right?" He was so happy that Aderyn had come back, and that their children would have their mother around all the time.
