http://kotaku.com/5231391/rpg-dream-team-delivers-steampunk-nostalgia-to-the-ds

- made by Matrix software, a team with ridiculous credentials (FF3, FF4, Dragon Quest, etc)
- Players will explore the world of an alternate 19th-century Earth in the role of Eddie, a headstrong Londoner who gathers a group of quirky companions together, travelling the world in a "steampunk-inspired" zeppelin. Players will visit alternate versions of New York, London, Cairo, Africa, and Russia; doing battle in both traditional turn-based combat and massive airship battles.
- Ambitious, fully 3D polygonal graphical engine offers dramatic, sweeping camera angles and impressive vistas rarely seen in a DS title
- Plenty of user-defined customization, allowing the player to trick out his or her airship with various weapons, armor types, and special skill attacks. The player can also choose character-specific skills from a branching tree for a more personalized experience.

sounds great, i was sold before i started reading the features, as soon as i read that it is in full-3D, i almost cried at this games awesomeness!

not as steampunk as i hoped, more steamfantasy, but still looks awesome for a DS game, and im still sold! haha

Oh! I want it! I loved the Grandia series, and the DS versions of FF III and IV were very well done.

And it would definitely be nice to actually DO something in your airship. Most RPGs with airships (whether their flying wooden ships with sails, or propeller ships, or just lighter-than-air craft), you just go from point A to point B. At most, you might be able to press a button and enter the ship to talk to your mates, but that's it. "Massive airship battles" sounds like it'd be a perfect way to break up potentially monotonous turn-based JRPG combat.

If you don't mind horrible sound emulation (or if you don't mind disabling sound entirely), and you have a fast computer in the 2 Ghz + range with 512 MB of RAM or more, you could probably find the ROM and play it with No$GBA. It gives me about 75% to 95% compatibility and functionality (since no game seems to have perfect sound yet). Once it comes out, anyway...

Same here. Ugh, but once I get a job, I can get a new DS (mine died), and I'll get the real, physical thing.

Here's hoping I can do it all before September! *crosses fingers*

I may have a hard time tracking this down...but I will!
The overview reminds me of Skies of Arcadia for the DC. Reminds me a lot...actually. Skies was my all time favorite DC game, though, so it's all good.

EDIT: Actually, the artistic style is more like Evolution WSD, but the theme seems pretty similar to Skies.

I just got Chrono Trigger for my own DS. Perhaps I should look into this next.
