Private RP between Misha (Graficcha) & Eli and Kell (ladyumbra)

Location: vargash outlands / No-man's lands
Time: Noon
Weather: Wide cloudless sky with a tight breeze up in the air
PostPosted: Tue Apr 28, 2009 12:57 pm

Eli would never in his life understand why Kell had to search so hard for a spot to piss. Even if the old hound dog was marking his territory it didn't really matter much becuase nothing out here was going to respect them anyways, out here was only the wild creatures though enough to carve out a living for themselves. None of them were all that impressed by Kell attempting to claim the land.

Of course they also weren't impressed when the scent hound tracked them down and helped Eli kill them.

Eli adjusted his hat to reflect more of the sun's glare and sighed softly. It was midday too hot to be out in the open just standing around, they needed to head back to their temporary camp for some shade and rest.

Twelve years old or not Kell's nose picked up something in the mostly still air and He was off like a shot.

Eli cursed, hefted the bag of hides he was carrying and took off after him. Honestly he had no idea what was getting into Kell in his older years but hunts were not meant to start spontaneously and it was too hot for this kinds of exertion.

Huff, puff, keep that rhythm, spare your breath... damn it was hot.

The Essentic had already removed his shirt and tied it around his waist, his sleeveless overshirt unbuttoned loose around his chest. One arm kept his bag securely close to him, the other supported his body's motions to keep up that insane speed. He'd been tiring for a while now though, god, what awful weather. All the air was up THERE but he'd need the breeze to be down HERE please...

Suddenly, he crinkled his nose. Uh? What... what's that now. Gah, hey! Whoah! Even before he'd looked around his adrenalin had boosted up in a clear flight-reaction, but he still wanted to know WHY he was risking a heartattack here.

A canine.. a... holy daddy Isis that's a hunter! A predator!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Kell bayed loudly letting Eli know he was hot on the trail of whatever it was he'd found. Despite his age and the blistering heat the dark furred dog charged across the ground mounting an incline and then.. paused. Dark eyes narrowed and the dog advanced slowly on the human like figure before him, it smelled strange and the hunter bred into him was overriding the years of training that had taught him to not attack anything with a human shape.

Eli cursed again when Kell went silent, he wasn't the type of dog to do that it wasn't in his breeds nature to be quiet while hunting. Concerned both for Kell's safety and possibly that of whatever he was tracking the young man scrambled up the incline himself.

" Kell Sit " he growled as he made it top the top and spotted the poor unfortunate person who'd caught the dog's attention. He felt bad for them, Kell was normally more social than he was but the heat and the others scent must have triggered something in the dog.

" My apologies" the auburn hair man said dusting himself off and keeping a wary eye on Kell who had obedienatly sat just feet from the stranger and was well within lunging distance if he wanted to.

Thank Isis.
Thank Iris.

Holy mother and father, it had STOPPED.

Oh, and it was with a human, too. Ooooh. Yes, that makes slightly more sense.

Misha had halted, facing the canine in a low, defensive stance, heaving breath, fur standing on end. Hadn't be looked so scrawny, he might've looked like some odd sort of martial arts master ready to kick some fine arse on anything that go too close, only he clearly didn't show any confidence to do anything of the sort. No, he was definitely scared out of his wits, so tense he was trembling.

Stay, staaaay.... ohgodohgod if it moves I'm SO dead.

And then, the human spoke. A merciful lead out of his primordial fear, his inhuman instincts. His nose hadn't stopped twitching every now and then.

"Ah... it's... Don't let him move!"
He'd meant to reply everything was fine, but that devolved into a panicky squeak. Priorities, priorities. "I'm not a prey!"

No seriously, I'm not. Dx

" Don't worry Kell's a good dog, he hasn't broken a command in years." Eli was pretty sure he wasn't going to either even if the hound was still focused rather intently on the stranger before them. The redhead chalked it up to him being one of the stranger types of those classified as human about; sometimes it was hard for Kell's mind to agree with a centuries worth of breeding in his nose which was telling him when things were and weren't prey.

" I'm Eli , who're you and what are you doing out here at this hour?" never mind Kell it wasn't safe to travel alone in these parts if you didn't have to and this kid looked like a lizard could take him without much fight.

For his own part Kell began to wag his tail in friendly manner despite refusing to take his eyes from the prey smelling man.

Well that was vaguely reassuring...

"Ah, I'm... I'm Misha..." Even if he had had reservations about giving out his name, it was the Servicer spiri in him that made him stick to common rules of conduct, such as answering direct questions. He was still wheezing a bit -going a few dozen miles per hour for a long time did that to you.

"I'm a delivery boy issall, I had to get soemthing from the city to.. elsewhere." Now the red tint of lack of air intensified with an awkward blush. Don't ask more about that other place, don't ask...? "I've been running almost non-stop since last evening... Hadn't expected to run into a canine such as this... did you.. train him to do that?"

Why was it so hard to keep his eyes off the dog? There was a human with it, he should be paying attention to him more. That tailwag he could interpret as a friendly signal, but he inadvertedly jumped a bit and took a step back.

Eli nodded " I trained him to behave, the hunt is in him naturally he's a scent hound, however it is you smell it's appealing to him. The man looked out over the vast expanse of wasteland " Where are you going?" Chances are this kid was going to need an escort or something if it was far, there was too much that was dangerous out here for the unarmed even the nomadic tribes travel with weapons.

"... hunt." shudder. How cruel.

"I'm.. going back to Vargash downtown, I'll find my way.. Believe me, I've done this before." Indeed he had, time and time again. His invisibility trick had helpe him avoid confrontations like this plenty of times now. Still, he had several hours to go on foot, at a regular speed. Maybe he should take a break, falling low on energy halfway was even more dangerous than taking some time out here to recover.

Besides, he was curious now. He'd never seen this man out here -nor surpising, the outlands were vast- but he wanted to know what he did here.

"Where are YOU going, sir? If that's not too bold to ask..."

" Back to my camp and then downtown myself" he nodded over his shoulder to the bag he carried " I have hides that are destined to become boots." He hadn't missed Misha shudder but didn't comment on it, hide meat and bone the man made sure every part of his kills were used it wasn't like he killed for fun. Regardless they were each allowed to feel different about the subject.

He whistled sharp and low and Kell jumped out of his trance darting to Eli's side before circling around his master clearly happy to be allowed to move again.

...brrrr.

While overheated, the Essentic still felt chilly. Scary... But, despite the man's odd hobby -turning skin into footwear, oh seriously-, he still didn't dislike him. No, he actually thought he might like this man.

"You're heading downtown, too, then.. maybe we should go together? Do you know where you have to be there? I'm good with navigation..."

It only made sense really. Safety is in numbers, and if he stayed with this guy, he would be reassured the canine wouldn't accost him out of nowhere again.

The whistle made him cringe, surreptitiously flattening his ears down at the sharp noise, and he became a bit jumpy again. Well, the dog behaved... right? He seemed quite friendly... Only Misha still felt he was Kell's designated lunch.

" Marlowe's Tannery and traveling as a pack is fine." Truth be told Eli would have felt bad leaving the boy alone, he probably wasn't defenseless if push came to shove but he certainly didn't look like much and he seemed easily scared. Eli's dark green eyes looked east and he pointed to where the hill they were on sloped back down again " Camp's just over there at the bottom of the hill , I need to pick up my tent and then we can head straight back into Vargash." Wouldn't be too long of a sidetrip and they'd be in the hill's shadow once they reached the camp which was good.

Kell wagged his tail and stepped forward to sniff Misha again though there was more curiosity in the dogs eyes than killer intent this time.

" He drools a bit" Eli warned " but he's otherwise harmless"

"Ah.. hahah.. Yes, sure." eeeek, it's so close! >.<

The bunny-boy had stiffened up completely, until he dared to glance down to see his limbs were just fine. .. a.. alrighty then. With slobber he could deal, it's the teeth that unnerved him.

Vaguely recalling seeing other people do this, in the street and on tv, he waited for a moment, and then tentatively patted the dog's head. He was so nervous he barely touched him, might as well have been a breeze.

"I'll come with you, then... I know the place you named, there's a few shortcuts not many know to get to it from the outlands into the city. Would save you twenty minutes at a decent tempo." he murmured, clear enough to be heard, but still a little very much distracted by Kell. Eventually he broke away from the canine, unable to keep his eyes off him for very long at a time, and began moving towards the place Eli had indicated. Let's go then.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 29, 2009 2:36 am

The outer wastelands Eli knew like the back of his hand, the city not so much, he usually just followed others directions to get there, the knowledge of these shortcuts made him grateful and put the man in a good mood " lucky rabbit you are then, and I didn't eat have to take a foot" he teased lightly thinking on the old folk tale his grandfather had told him about rabbit's feet being lucky.

Kell could smell Misha's fear despite the nice pet he'd received and the hound raced ahead towards the encampment. Within earshot and eyesight of his master but far enough away that there were more pleasant scents to fill his nose.

Following Kell, Eli lengthened his stride and lead Misha across the hill and down the embankment to where he'd pitched a small tent and pit a fire pit the night before. He was pleased to see no local wildlife had torn it apart in the time he and Kell had been hunting that morning.

" If you can just give me a hand dissembling the tent we'll be good to go"

"A rabbit's f-foot?"
Poor Misha had no idea what that meant, Longway had never bothred telling him such things. All he knew is that it was a very scary and very disturbing thought.

"A-and I'm n-not a rabbit." blush. gack, awkward. He sped up a bit to try and get that worn-out buzz back, and distract himself.
Scary, so scaryyyyyy, this was like some strange mixture between a nice pleasant meeting and a horrific encounter with a murderer.

"Ah, I... I can help with the tent if you tell me what to do..." He'd never done anything like setting and breaking up a camp before, and he had the expertise in it of a.. well, a one-year old.
