The golden adolscent had been ushered out of her childhood quickly, uncontrollable growth spurts meant her slender frame fell into gracious limbs, sleek fur running to meet large but delicate paws. Though her eyes had never changed. Still the same beautiful sapphire from the day she was born, still reflecting her emotions and every shade of deep blue imaginable.

One thing that had changed was her personality. She was still sensetive and caring, but the death of her mother, as cruel as it might seem, amoungst the obvious grief, she couldnt help but breath a small sigh of relief. She was no longer a stuttering and confused cub. She had always been caring and sweet, but now, she was a loving lioness, with a mate, and motherly feelings. She had now become more knowlegable. Though she did worry a lot, and was still anxious.

Every childhood had a rebellious streak, and she shuddered to remember hers. Though it helped her find her place, and home. She had fallen in love at a young age. But not with Simba as her mother expected, although Maawio hadnt seen her mother for a while now. She had fallen in love with a rogue, and in a desperate attempt to escape she became a rogue. Maawio knew it was a foolish decision, and she almost hurt someone by returning here. When she did return, she descovered the death of her mother and many others, including Simba.

Maawio and Amaris relationship was deep and loving, though they had regular barriers which meant that sometimes they were unable to see each other. Maawio often found she missed him more than anything, so made sure they had regular visits. The two were now re-united once more and she was more than ecstatic that he was staying at the pridelands.

Her head was a storm of emotions, she wanted a family, and so did he. But was that why they were here? Was this a romantic trip, a break from it all? Padding into the green lush foliage of the jungle, she gazed happily towards Amari and sighed happily. She'd give anything for moments like this to last forever... Anything, although, it seemed it would be happening much more often.

He had padded alongside her as quietly as a bulky, large lion such as he could do. He was not a lion of stealth or one who knew how to keep quiet which had made him a pretty pathetic hunter. Branches snapped under paw and the rustle of leaves as they crackled made his presence clear. His mind too was filled with many different thoughts, centered mainly towards the purpose of this journey.

Ever since he had been a juvenile, wandering the world and looking for a place to call home, he had wanted to show Maawio the beauty of the world. Wanted to show her perfect sunsets, waterfalls, flocks of birds flying overhead. This was going to be an adventure like that, showing her the flowers of the jungle that were almost - but not quite as - beautiful as her.

It was here too that the pair had finally told each other of their love, by the waterfall of this amazing land. This place would now always hold a special place in his heart for them.

His eyes closed briefly as he ducked beneath a stretch of vines and turned to gaze at his mate, his best friend, his world. She was so beautiful, a golden goddess that arose in him a feeling of pure adoration. A purr rumbled in his throat, a smile curving his maw as he peered at her through shining eyes. He was afraid to break the comfortable silence between them but felt that he had to speak first, felt he needed to say things.

"I'm glad you agreed to come with me..." He almost whispered. "A last trip before we...settle down if you will. I never thought I'd come to love the Pridelands as I have...but I think most of that is due to you." He moved to nuzzle her gently.

The adolscent was almost growing out of adolescence itself, her long limbs becoming even more long and slender as the days went by, and she felt she would seen be into adulthood.

The unchangable sapphire eyes blinked sweetly, they would always be the childish part of her, her warm heart portrayed in her beautiful eyes. Smiling happily, she padded closer to Amari, brushing the side of her maw against his shoulders in a swift nuzzle.

"I'm so glad, you decided to stay..." Her white toed paws stumbled and she fell slightly as she didnt watch her path. She turned slightly, avoiding a protruding branch and giggling at her own misfortune. Maawio also remembered the days in the jungle, what great memories, what beautiful times... Sighing happily and almost silently she turned towards the waterfall, watching it carefully and reclining calmly, still gazing sweetly at her mate.

He lay beside her, ears twitching towards the waterfall as it roared in the background, a flurry of water cascading down the rockside and into the pool below. He saw the water reflected in Maawio's own eyes as he moved to gaze at her, realising for the first time that they were no longer the two juveniles they had been when they had first met.

Running his eyes over her slender, supple frame he realised for the first time that both of them were fully grown. They were adults with their futures open before them.

"I-I know you never had the best relationship with your mother, and that is something I can understand...but looking at you now I truly believe she would have been proud of you." He nuzzled her gently before speaking once more. "You may not have followed her plans and ideals but you have become a strong hunter, a golden beauty who is a queen to me."

He turned to gaze once more at the water, focusing on it's rapid flow and losing himself within it as he spoke. "I always pictured a future with you...a picture of us together...but recently...recently that picture has changed." He swallowed nervously and turned once more to gaze at her, he had to say it, he had to!

"Now the picture wants to hold more than just the two of us, there's space for more...I guess what I'm trying to say is..." He swallowed, "that I would love it if we could raise a family of our own." If a lion could blush he would have been bright red by now.

Her eyes followed his own frame, she remembered the first time they met, his flirtatious behavior, and how he far the pair of them had come together. Flicking her tail happily, she lowered her head in shame, looking towards the ground. Perhaps Maawio hadnt been the easiest child to raise, as she was extremely anxious. Though she knew her Mother was sometimes wrong, maybe she had only wanted the best.

Underneath her golden fur, she felt a sudden heat, gazing shyly at Amari with a purr. She reached foward, nuzzling his neck happily. "I love you, and you're just perfect for me..." She couldnt think of anything more to say, but she hoped her simply words would be enough.

Maawio smiled beautifully, so he thought the same then? Feeling a small wave of relief, she spoke softly. "I couldnt agree more." She felt so warm inside, next to him she felt complete, as long as he was there.

She spent a few days in the jungle, enjoying each his company and enjoying the beautiful scenery around her, often thinking back to the past.

The days that were to follow would never leave Amari's memory. He saw nothing else but her golden form, smelt nothing but her sweet perfume and heard nothing but her own purring words.

His love for her grew to a point where he thought he might just burst, his heart ever warm and pounding in his chest.

It was lying next to her, side pressed against hers at the jungle edge that he spoke of what was to come. His eyes trailing up to the scattering of stars that lay spread out above them.

"I love you." His breath misted, the moisture that hung in the air aiding the tickling sensation on his body. "When we return to the Pridelands we can stay there, settle down and raise a family." He nuzzled into her warmly and sighed. "Everything is going to be perfect and there is no place safer than back with the pride." He inhaled, "I want our children to be born and raised someplace where they can be protected, around other youngsters too."

Maawio couldnt agree more, she felt her own gaze being lost in his amber eyes, his voice making her stomach twist and turn. She purred happily, her tail wrapping round her front leg comfortably.

"Everything will be perfect, just perfect." She sighed happily, "Our children will learn the ways of life of the pridelanders, and with live perfectly with the rest of the pride..." Pausing to think about the future happily, she replied again. "I love you, Amari..."

She turned to lick his head sweetly. "I cant wait to be a family..." Her eyes showed nothing but her eternal happiness, the propect of being a family and being with Amari made her so unbelievably happy.

"Perfect." He mirrored her words and nodded, standing up and stretching, hearing the crack of joints as he shook his mane. The large male lion straightened, the muscles rippling underneath his coat which shone with health. He was a fearsome looking creature, and to males perhaps he was. However with Maawio he was as gentle as a kitten.

His claws would never be set against a female. Never.

"Family life is going to be strange, but I think I'll grow to like it, especially when I'm sharing it with you love." He purred, glancing about the jungle with a blink of his hazel eyes.

"I love you Maawio, more than anything else in this entire world." He pressed his nose to hers in a kiss before bounding off, glancing over his shoulder playfully before continuing.

Her beautiful eyes lit up again, as always. She watched as he rose, grinnind at him. He was just perfect. He was so sweet and caring, yet he could take care of himself at the same time.

"Yes, it will be strange at first..." She purred, looking down to her stomach, which she knew would grow to hold her beautiful children. Sighing happily, she could think of no better scenario for family life, than being in a full and happy pride, full of youngsters and with Amari.

"I love you too." She whispered softly, before bounding after his great figure, laughing as she stumbled slightly.
