Airman, Second Class Airman is the lowest rank in the Galactic Federation Fighter Corps, and can be attained simply by enlisting in the air corps. Airman make up the majority of the fighter squads stationed on warships, naval bases, and on planets. Airmen and women are typically promoted after six months of service, after proper training, or combat experience.

Airman, First Class Airman First Class is the second attainable rank, between Airman and Senior Airman, and can be attained by completing training, six months of service of combat experience. The typical pilot in most naval squadrons are Airmen First Class. Though a higher rank than Airman, there is no command ability for the Airman First Class.

Senior Airman Senior Airman is the third attainable rank, above Airman First Class but below Sergeant; and the position can be attained after thirty-six months of service, combat experience, or as a graduate of naval academy. Senior Airmen serve a small part in the command structure of a squadron and are the first rank that can be selected to act as a military instructor.

Sergeant Sergeant is the fourth rank attainable, between Senior Airman and Staff Sergeant, and can be attained via twelve months of service as an Airman or through combat experience. The Sergeant is usually the first command role inside a squadron, often commanding a group of fighters that makes up the squadron.

Staff Sergeant Staff Sergeant is the fifth-a attainable rank, in between Sergeant and Master Sergeant, and is alternate with the rank of Lieutenant. The Staff Sergeant is the rank that leads to base command, while Lieutenant is the rank that leads to squadron command. Staff Sergeants can be promoted after six months is service as a Sergeant. Typically charged with basic base command and writing performance reports, the Staff Sergeant is the first base command rank available.

Master Sergeant The rank of Master Sergeant is the sixth-a attainable rank, between Staff Sergeant and Senior Master Sergeant, and is attainable after twelve months of service or recommendation from a superior officer. The rank of Master Sergeant often serves as flight chief or as section chief, which is the commanding officer behind a squadron.

Senior Master Sergeant Senior Master Sergeant is the seventh-a attainable rank, between Master Sergeant and Chief Master Sergeant, and can only be attained by a board panel of superior officers based on performance of the officer. The Senior Master Sergeant generally assumes superintendent duties, overseeing the enlisted members of the squadrons under his or her command.

Chief Master Sergeant The rank of Chief Master Sergeant is the eighth-a attainable rank, between Senior Master Sergeant and Commander Chief Master Sergeant. This rank can again only be attained by a panel of superior officers based on performance. CMSgts are responsible for running major staff functions at the higher headquarter level as well as serve as a mentor and teacher for lower officers and to serve as an adviser to unit commanders and senior officers.

Command Chief Master Sergeant The position of Command Chief Master Sergeant is the ninth-a and final base command position in the fighter corps. CCMSgts serve as advisers to the Commander on enlisted personnel matters, including all issues affecting the command's mission and operations, and the readiness, training, utilization, morale, technical and professional development, and quality of life of all enlisted members in the organization.

Second Lieutenant The Second Lieutenant is the fifth-b attainable rank, between Sergeant and Lieutenant, and is the first squadron command rank. Promotion to Second Lieutenant generally comes after twelve months of service as Sergeant, or by recommendation by a superior. The Second Lieutenant sometimes serves Executive Officer for a squadron, though the rank mostly serves as a sub-flight commander, usually consisting of four to six fighters.

Captain Capital is the seventh-b attainable rank, in between Lieutenant and Major, and is attainable by having completed thirty-six months of service or via promotion by a superior officer based on combat performance. The command of a squadron is relegated to the Captain, as is writing performance reviews and suggesting promotions to superior officers.

Major The rank of Major is the eight-b attainable rank, in between Captain and Lieutenant Colonel, and can only be obtained through promotion from combat experience. Majors can sometimes serve as squadron commanders, but usually serve as flight commanders, issuing orders to anywhere from two to five squadrons at a time.

Lieutenant Colonel Lieutenant Colonel is the ninth-b rank attainable, between Major and Colonel, and is attained by a panel judgment by superior officers. The Lieutenant Colonel is generally a director of operations for a flight of fighters, or could also serve to command a flight of fighters ranging from four to eight squadrons.
