Letting out a long, slightly exaggerated yawn, the leader of Noble Symphonia laid on the lounge's new couch. Wow. He had not expected the couch to be this soft. Nice. Rolling onto his side, he put a pillow beneath his head and let his eyes travel around the room, taking in the new sight. He couldn't believe it. They actually built this place. Pride filled his heart as he became more and more comfortable with the new surroundings. Letting out another yawn, he reached for an issue of National Gaiaonic and idly flipped through it.

"Never thought we'd actually get it done, did you?" There was a chuckle from behind John. He recognized that laugh; it was Chris, one of his vice-captains. "Yeah, I remember working on this place... took a while to get it just right. We were going for a feel that was reminiscent of the Dance Party, you know?"

Chris sauntered over and stood by the edge of the couch. He wass wearing his Blade of the New Republic tunic to symbolize the clan's new beginning. After a brief, thoughtful pause, Chris adjusted his monocle and looked at his captain. "So... what do you think of it?"User Image

(okay, gonna go to past tense. Present tense is weird xD)

John smiled softly. Oh, how he had come to recognize that voice. Leaning up, he tried not to mess up his new tunic too much. It had cost him a fair amount of gold, so he probably should not have been lounging in it. His fingers fiddled with the dangling sleeves of the attire as he addressed his friend.

"Yeah, I have to say, I'm impressed. If the whole thief thing doesn't work out, you could always be a carpenter." he said with a snicker.

Chris shrugged off the compliment. "Don't give me too much credit. We had a lot of help, after all." He took a step back, looking around. "This place... it's so empty! So full of possibility. I hope we can get more people here..."

It was pretty much understood that by 'people', Chris meant 'babes'.

"Ah well, we'll give it time." He sighed, casting his gaze over to the bar area. "Should we help ourselves to some celebratory drinks while we're here? Or are you too afraid to spill something on your nice new tunic?" He chuckled, clicking his tongue. "You don't dress up nicely like this very often, so it's a surprise to see you wearing something expensive for once..."User Image

John scowled a bit. Granted, he didn't like to be all fancy a lot of the time, but that was because John became very pragmatic over the years. His signature item, his snowbored pants, were comfortable and had utility; they had a number of pockets and pouches and could store many kinds of weapons.

"Yeah, sure, why not?" he said, flattening out the front of his tunic. "Have any more of the Pilcitroo... Picitrullso... That one brand of wine you had when we closed the Dance Party?"

"Haha, yeah, you do have a certain 'style', I'll agree with you there..." Chris could never put his finger on it, but for some reason, out of the two of them, John was the one who did better with the ladies. Guess that meant the clan leader must be doing something right...

"Anyways... you want wine from Picolotrosso's vineyard?" Chris raised an eyebrow. "Man, that's some of my good wine... I think I've been spoiling you." He shook his head. "But it's the wine of phoenixes... so it only seems fitting, if you think about it. So... sure, why not?"

He headed back behind the bar counter and pulled out a bottle of wine. "Here we are. Want to come sit in the bar area, or are you expecting tableside service?"User Image

"Spoiled? Me? Noooo..." John said very, very sincerely.

"..."

"You're gonna bring that over to me, right?"

After pausing for a moment, John grinned and lifted himself off the comfortable couch. He slowly sat down at the bar, watching his vice captain pour the rare wine.

"Man, this is lonely. I'm okay with just the two of us, but I know how much you like, errr... pleasurable company."

"Hah, so sorry to uproot you from the couch, my captain," Chris replied, smiling dryly. He pulled out two wine glasses from one of the cabinets and set them down on the polished countertop. "Anyways... I wouldn't worry too much about how quiet it is. We're small now, but I'll keep recrewting, and you'll keep planning stuff and advertising... this place will fill up. Just gotta keep the faith."

Moving deftly but delicately, Chris uncorked the bottle and poured the contents; the crimson liquid bled freely from the bottle, filling the glasses with wine. Once he was done, he scooped the bottle upward and recorked it. "Enjoy, my friend," he said, passing one of the glasses over to his comrade.

"You know... it is too bad we couldn't get Akari down here. She's been working hard and could use some lounge time as well. Not to mention, having a woman here would brighten things up..." Chris chuckled to himself and took the first sip of his drink. "Don't you agree?"User Image

John smiled and nodded. "While it would be nice to have Akari here, I don't think you should be getting any ideas." he said, lightly warning his vice captain. "I've talked to her, and apparently her boyfriend is quite adept at unarmed combat."

Taking a sip of the rare wine, John yawned again. "You are right, though. She's been doing a lot for us and deserves a reward."

With an ear pressed to the other side of the door, the female vice captain let out an enlongated sigh. Her grip tightened on the plate of fresh brownies she had just removed from the oven mere minutes ago. She had baked them for the two men currently sitting in the lounge, but hesitation kept her from entering the haven herself.

'Get it together, Ally,' she mused, inhaling a sharp breath. 'Just take them the brownies, then go back to...cleaning or something.'

A shaky hand gripped the door handle and twisted with some difficulty. She cracked the door open just enough to peer into the room, bespectacled eyes shifting nervously. "Hello?"

"Well...I have a sword..." Chris's murmured response to John's comment about Akari could barely be heard as he continued to indulge himself in more drinking. "But as a crew member, her prowess is second to none. We were really lucky, picking up that one... oh, by the way, who recrewted that one, again..." He paused, feigning a wondering look. They both knew that Chris was responsible for a large amount of their new arrivals.

"Anyways..." He shifted in his chair. "What about our other vice captain? Do you know where she's at right now?"

All of a sudden, he smelled something in the air - brownies. There was a familiar voice as well, coming from the door. "Well, speak of the devil!" Chris announced with a sly grin. "Glad you could drop in!" His tone was more friendly than it was teasing.User Image

John smelled something. Something... familiar and dangerous and... thought-taking.

"BROWNIEESSSSS!"

Flying out of his chair faster than anyone would think possible in his attire, John was at the door, his eyes as wide as saucer plates. He could see Ally's brownies and already, he was drooling. He could not even register what she was saying or even who was holding the plate. The brownies... they were all that mattered at that one moment.

"Brow... brownies..."

A faint smile ghosted across Ally's lips. Their beloved leader was so incredibly predictable. Though her nerves had released their quivering hold on her body, she still held the plate of chocolatey treats in nothing less than a death grip. "I...uh...made these for you guys," she said quietly, trying to keep her voice from squeaking. "I hope th-they came out all right..."

She extended her arms as far as they could go with her stiff muscles, half expecting John to gobble the whole plate down himself.

"I bring out some of the best wine in all of Gaia..." Chris shook his head. "And he leaves it behind for... brownies..."

Chris facepalmed. So much for class... he raised his head and fixed his gaze on the two of them. Might as well go see what all the fuss is about. Setting the bottle to one side, he picked up his glass and sauntered over to where the others were standing. "So... you made brownies? Well, this is certainly a treat..."User Image

John would have retorted with something clever, but his mouth was already full with three of Ally's brownies. Yes, three. Somehow, someway, he got three of her brownies into his mouth in only two bites. If pure bliss could be crystallized, it would take the form of Ally's brownies. His eyes glassed over as he enjoyed the treats, a wide smile now adorning his features.
