Melethia flew her way into the forest once she was at about the middle of the forest, she stopped and floated above the trees. She knew that the corrupted Hawk King would make his way to her. She had wanted to take on Tibarn for a while now, but not in this way.

Tibarn whipped low over the treetops just at the edge of the city. A high-pitched hawk screech shattered the tranquility, sending birds scattering out of the trees. He could see Melethia from where he was; no way he was gonna let her do this on her terms. He started toward her, then slowly wheeled over a concealed clearing closer to the city. It would be very hard to see it until she was right over it, and then it would be too late.
His razor-sharp vision showed him every detail. Melethia had changed, but... not much. Interesting... He caught a strong thermal above the clearing, then circled his way into the sky.

Melethia had noticed where Tibarn was going to. "I had a feeling this wasn't going to work. I'll go by his terms." She started to fly to him but she had to make sure that Tibarn wasn't going to catch her by surprise.

If beaks could curl into grins, Tibarn would have grinned wide. He flapped his wings a few times as he continued to ascend, waiting until Melethia was close. Suddenly he flared his wings out wide, stretching the tips as far as he could as he reached the top of the thermal, over a thousand feet off the ground.
The Hawk King glared down at the Dragon Queen, and hen he arched his neck, dipped forward, and folded his wings.
Several second passed, and Tibarn shot past Melethia like a veridian missile with a wake strong enough to flip her several times over, and then he swept around, sweeping around the clearing in fast circles.

Melethia was surprised at the speed of the Hawk King's speed. She moved just enough so that her right wing wasn't impacted by Tibarn force. She did flip over in the air a few times. She stopped herself in mid air.
"That was fast." She told herself. "I almost could have some broken body parts. I need to transform." She calmed herself down enough to focus on transforming. She then opened her eyes in shock. She wasn't in her full dragon form.
"No..." She told herself.

Tibarn turned sharply and swept right behind Melethia's back, spinning her around as he snapped playfully at her wings with his sharp beak. "What's wrong?" his ever-sharp eyes seemed to say. "Can't keep up?"
He wheeled up and cracked down like lightning, sweeping directly from behind and catching her a nasty kick to the back of the head with his talon-- but he didn't sink it into her!
He was... toying with her.
Like a cat with a mouse.
[Gotta go for several hours, bbl~]

Melethia took the punishment like she had to now. Her plan changed from defeating Tibarn to stall for time.
"He's just messing with me now." She said while defending herself. "Just got to stay alive and airborn. If only I had my fire control, I might have a better chance of living."

There was a sudden, bright flash of green, and then Tibarn shot forward and his fist connected squarely with Melethia's stomach. He continued to swing, his fists bruising and blackening her face as he shoved her along, each blow leading to the next. The attack was fast, enough so that by the time she brought her claws to bear he'd be well into it.
As he drove her back under barrage, he couldn't help laughing. "You really thought you could fight me in the air! Pathetic," he spat, swinging his fist around and straight up toward Melethia's chin.

Melethia caught Tibarn's fist with her left hand. She then threw a punch, with her right hand, to his face. But she didn't stop there. It was now her time to give some bruises. She figured if she could damage Tibarn enough, there might be a chance she would do it. She made her claws exposed and went right for Tibarn's wings. She knew he was going to be easier to fight if his wings were damaged.

Tibarn's head snapped back, minimizing the damage from the punch, and he suddenly braced his boots against Melethia's stomach and kicked off hard, spreading his wings and flapping away as he watched her drop away from him, smirking.
Hope she could fly well enough to miss the ground.

Victoria knew what she had to do. Just stay hidden. It was simple enough task... for if the Hawk King didn't know of her presence, then... it would far easier to avoid him.
Just stay hidden until he's knocked out, to use the restorative tome. Now that she thought of it.. bored in her isolation, she wanted to name it. The Lightbringer? Perfect.

Melethia's wings spread open enough to slow down her speed. She managed to lift herself back up. She was clutching her stomach ash she flew back up.

A soldier was waiting for Victoria. They expected her to come, and they knew she was dangerous with that tome. Slowly, he swung a leather strap in his hand, then fitted a large rock into it and began to twirl it above his head.
This was in case Large failed. And since she was here... hiding... it meant it was better to just do it. He swung the sling quickly around and around, then released it and slung the rock.
He missed; poor Ayra went quavered for a moment before collapsing with a fresh bruise developing on her forehead. The soldier cursed under his breath and, knowing he'd be found, bolted.
[Ayra asked me to write her out until such time as she can post. :P]

There was another green flash, and a giant hawk bore down on Melethia, extending his talons as he dropped and digging them into her shoulders. He held tight, continuing to drop, then flared his wings and slammed her into the ground after releasing her. "Stay down," he managed to growl through his beak, and he followed it with a victory screech as he once more launched himself toward the sky, accelerating away from the ground.
Large hung back, hand on his blade as he knelt to pick up the rock next to Ayra. He frowned, tossing it in his hand, and threw it aside. "Miss Victoria," he said. "She's unconscious. Do you have a staff, to at least take care of this bruise?"

As Melethia hit the ground, you could hear the snaps of the bones in her wings breaking. She roared in pain when that happened. She layed there closing her eyes and gritting her teeth a bit before she rolled over, though that wasn't much better. Her stomach was still hurtting from the kick from Tibarn. She wanted to ease the pain, so she managed to get on her hands and knees. She spat out some blood while she was breathing hard.
