The Glen

Many say this is the most soothing and mystical place in the arboretum. The glen is a cool, shady area often immersed in fog. Pools of water sit in some low-lying places. The ground is covered with a lush undergrowth of ferns and other herbaceous plants like jewelweed and nettle. Be careful if you wander off the path! Those nettles hurt.

Again, no actual sign had told Taroshi that she had entered the next part on her journey, but the changes in her surroundings made it evident that she had now entered the glen. She felt oddly at home in this mystical place, reminding her so much of her childhood. No she didn't want to think of that. Instead she continued for a little while down the path.

When she found a rock, she sat down and rested. She did a check-up on her 'boo-boo' as she stupidly called it in her head, which made her laugh out loud. This place really did made her in a better - and childish - mood. She had been lucky. Judging on the current state of her so-called 'boo-boo' there had been no poisoning. She sighted in relief, and decided that this was a peaceful place to take a little rest. The humping around had drained much of her energy, and she drank the last of her first bottle of water, as well as ate the other part of the first bagged meal. She wasn't really nervous about running out of food, she'd be able to find berries and fruit, it was not having enough water that scared her.

She would think of this later, right now, all she needed was to rest for a little while.

Taroshi's ankle gave every sign of being a simple cut, with no other visible damage. She had successfully left the spider behind, and had made such a ruckus in running away that she'd probably given every wild thing in the vicinity cause to run away. Nothing would be bothering her for awhile.

((Thank god, I thought I had to kill her off crying whee ))

All of a sudden Taroshi sat up. She must have dosed off. She felt her energy was recharged enough to continue on her journey. She had a faint memory about something with leaving the trail to get to the orchard, but she had no idea where or when she had to leave the trail. She decided to walk until she would be able to see the fruit trees. The thought of fresh fruit made her speed up slightly, and a huge smile broke out on her face when she could finally see the trees. What a heavenly sign.

As she got closer, she finally decided that this would be great place to break off from the trail, forgetting all about the nettles.

((Haha, no, the spider was a clue. No native spiders look like that. xd And I won't ever kill someone's character, just injure them enough that they have to be sent for help.

What is Taroshi wering on her lower body?))

((But I thought with the elimination and all...? Oh never mind, lol... anyways, I'll give you a description of her clothes:

Taroshi mostly wears earth colors. As a mermaid, her tail is also green, but her clothes on the upper-body tends to be a different color. As an elf she always wears practical (but sexy) clothes, like 3/4 pants (brown) and she will often be seen wearing a halter-neck, but it also varies. As an elf her clothes will also have vines as belts and she uses other creative ways of using the natural world (e.g tying up her hair with vines), and her shoes is almost always boots, a bit gothic-styled. This way, she always feels like she has nature with her.[continues, but I don't think you need to hear the rest as she plays elf here ^_^]))

((The elimination simply means you are removed from the competition. Not from life! I'm not one to take someone's carefully crafter character and kill it off.))

Taroshi suddenly felt a stinging prickly feeling arond the tops of her ankles, just below the bottom of her pants. It was irritating, but not debilitating. Luckily, her pants and shoes had blocked most of the tiny prickles on the nettles she now stood amidst. The patch continued for about 3 meters in front of her...her other alternative was to retrace the path she had trampled through the plants. Beyond the nettle patch stood several lone Jewelweed plants, a well-known topical rememdy for poison-ivy and other skin irritants.

((I ment kill her off from this RP xd Not from everything wink ))

Taroshi stood and thought about her choices. She had already trampled halfway through, not continuing would have been a waste of time... besides... three meters? That was like, three steps. That, AND the thought of the fruit made her continue through the last part of the nettles. She couldn't stop herself from repeating "ouch" over and over again after she had gotten out off the nettles. She looked around to see if there was anything she could use. THERE Jewelweed! Although she didn't know much about this particular plant, she remembered from some of her classes, that it would help against her skin irritation. She grabbed a few and rubbed her legs with them, certain that she felt the slight burning sensation decrease a bit. Her ever practical side made her grab just a a bunch of thye plants and stuff them into her almost already filled backpack. If she ever had to deal with the 'pleasure' of these ugly plants again, she would have her remedy. Again, the thought of fruit made her forget all about the now almost un-noticeable irritation, and it also made her increase her pace, until she finally reached the border of the glen, and stood in awe looking at what was known as orchard.

((I shall continue this in the orcard ^_^))

B.D. realized that he wasn't walking towards the Orchard, but to the Glen. He could see the Orchard from where he was through the fog that covered the Glen. He could take a short cut by going off the trail, but there were nettles off the trail and he knew that nettles hurt if you touched them. He would have to stay on the path until he got close enough to the Orchard to stray off the path. B.D. shivered at the coolness of the Glen. He wished there was a bit of sun to warm him up in here. He walked on the trail for awhile but the mist, the shade, and the plants made him bored, even if he whistled music. He decided to stray off the trail, but not too far so he would loose it, just far enough to see if there was anything in the undergrowth off the trail. He walked 2.5 meters into the undergrowth and continued on towards the Orchard.

((oooooh. But what if she wanted to re-apply? Zombie parent! xd ))

B.D. had managed to avoid the nettle patch Taroshi had waded through. This was because the spot he had chosen to leave the path was already covered with ferns. Fronds waved as he made his way through them, thinning out ahead. The ground was quickly becomming squishier and squishier...His shoes were getting coated with slimy mud.

B.D.'s foot came down onto...or rather, into...the ground and sank up to the ankle in the squelchy, sandy mud of the Glen.

"Uggh. This is going to be a fun little mess," said B.D. with an impatient voice. He tried to step out of the quickmud, but it only stuck him farther in. He looked around for something that might get him out of the quickmud that was slowly pulling his body into the ground. He pulled off his pack and opened it looking for the rope he had packed. He found it and unwound it from the coil it was in. He also took out his knife and tied the rope around the hilt of the knife. Then he threw the knife into the patch of ferns he had stepped on before getting into the quickmud hoping that it would hold so he could hopefully use the rope to pull himself out, or at least untill his hands could hold onto solid ground.

After trying many times to get the knife to stay in the ground long enough so he could pull himself to the patch of ferns, solid ground, he finally succeeded in getting out of the quickmud, but he was tired and very dirty. "Well I'm glad that over," he said sighing. He carefully made his way back to the trail trying not to fall into anymore pits of quickmud. He continued along trail to the Orchard very slowly.

Finding the path that Taroshi had already trampled down a little earlier that day, she made her way back to the Glen. Once again, she was in awe over the way this place could affect her. She felt so... peaceful... She shook the daze, that had hit her when she entered the fog, of her and continued down the trail. She had decided to change her plans just a little bit. She would be heading for the river. As she walked she snacked on some of the fruit she had taken from the orchard before the 'evil' deer had chased her out. "ruining my snack-time" she grumblede, thinking of the 'evil' deer again.

She soon came to the borderline between the glen and the south bottom, and there wasn't a second of doubt that she was leaving the glen, for the mystical fog stopped, as if there was a wall keeping it inside it's borders.

((I'll continue in south bottom ^_^ and just so you know, she doesn't believe the deer is evil... it's just a joke <.<))
