For once, Toshiro was out of his apartment voluntarily. A new video game he'd been dying to get his claws on was having a release party and he definitely wanted in on the action. The only problem was that he had to walk past that dratted restaurant, GoGo Sushi, to get there, and that was something he dreaded to the very depths of his being. Not only had he said he'd never visit their establishment again, but he didn't want to run into any of the people that he knew talked badly about him that ritualistically visited the shop. But these thoughts could be put on hold - there was am ultra special edition video game he'd reserved with reverence out there with his name on it.

Dashing about the spacious apartment, Toshiro hastily donned his clothing and brushed his fingers through his hair to at least make an attempt to not appear as if he'd been staying up for three days straight to play the four previous installments of the series. With a humongous grin across his face, he twisted the door knob open, knowing in the depth of his gut that things were not going to go as planned. The hikikomori, luckily, didn't experience the dreaded foreboding again until his footfall made steady tempo with the concrete that was a mere block away from the restaurant that he so despised. Breathing deeply he continued on his way - daring the fools to stand between him and his prize.

Lena was not about to stand between him and anything, but was perfectly capable of tripping between him and something. The novelist was running out of Go Go sushi at speed, partially because her food would get cold if she didn't get home fast enough and also because she had just seen her editor and she was behind schedule. If Lena could do anything, it was avoid responsibility.

Unfortunately, avoiding responsibility with her arms full on a busy day was dangerous and about a block away from the restaurant, her feet fumbled. Falling and getting food everywhere, she rubbed her head. "Ow-w-w!" Looking around at the spilled meal, she let out a groan. "Bugger."

It then hit Lena that she wasn't alone and slowly she looked up at the person before her. He seemed rather untidy, like a man who had been shoved into a closet and only got taken out when he was useful. Furthermore, he was a man she had inconvenienced. "Sorry! Arrrgh, sorry, I didn't get anything on you, did I?"

Toshiro had watched the woman run out of the restaurant with a knowledge that she was going to fall. How could he not, when the fool wasn't paying much attention to the people around her. When she got closer he saw her fall in somewhat slow motion, as his adrenaline had kicked in. He reached out a hand to help her only, to have the food she'd been carrying scatter everywhere. Baka! Some had managed to make it's way onto the very arm Toshiro had failed to offer in time. Shaking the gunk off of his arm, he again reached out to help her - this time with the opposite hand (his gaming one to be precise). "You did, but as long as you've a napkin things will be fine." So far she wasn't gesturing and demanding what he was doing near the restaurant she'd just vacated, leaving Toshiro in a good mood - even if he was somewhat messier than he'd been a few moments before.

Lena winced. "Sorry." she said, and patted around for a napkin but of course she had forgotten to grab any. Feeling bad, she said "Ah, crap, here..." and pulled her neckerchief off her neck, offering him the accessory. "Will this work? I never liked wearing that thing much anyway."

All things considered, the situation could have been a lot worse. He could've been the yelling type, or worse, he could have been a fan of her books. Lena was the sort of writer who couldn't write anything but cheesy romance novels well and she hated her line of work with a passion. She longed to write something meaningful but continually failed, and so settled with avoiding things that reminded her of her profession, middle aged housewife admirers especially. She grinned a relieved, silly sort of grin and stuck out a hand. "I don't think we had a chance to introduce ourselves. I'm Lena, and you are...?"

Pulling her up, he shrugged. "It's not like you got that gunk on my clothes it's fine." He took the proffered neckerchief and wiped the food remnants off of his left arm. When he'd got the rid of the last of the clinging particles he nodded and folded it so that it was turned inside out so that she could take it back and be cleaned. "Toshiro Uzamaki." He replied gruffly, thinking about how the release party was going to be soon. What time is it now? Hopefully I'm not late. . . Please don't let this woman be a talker. Toshiro thought as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other.

Since the weather was fairly nice on this day, and since Miwa had no homework or anything else to do, she decided it was a perfect opportunity to grab something to eat... at GoGo Sushi. Where else could be a better place to hang? The shop had a fun environment and she was bored.

As she walked down the road twirling her hair and humming something off-tune, she noticed two people she had never seen before right in front of the store. It seemed like the lady had just fallen down and dropped her food (what a shame) and was being helped up by a random guy. Miwa was hesitant in approaching them, but they couldn't be ignored if she wanted to get into the restaurant.

"Do you guys need help?"

She gazed at them curiously, totally oblivious to the fact that she could be intruding or that her stares might be unwanted.

Toshiro started to get twitchy. So many people he didn't know were around, and on top of that he wasn't even inside. He was beginning to wish he hadn't left his apartment when the new girl came up to talk. Great, here's another one. He thought, grumbling. "No, I'm fine." He snapped in return. This day was not going the way he'd hoped it would. Taking his hand back he stepped a few inches back to give allow for easier air. Toshiro always seemed to breathe a little easier when people weren't so close. Looking around, he noticed that their little group was causing quite a commotion in the busy sidewalk. They should really get out of the way, but he didn't really care. He always did exactly what he wanted, when he wanted. Screw anyone else.

Lena looked up at the newcomer, flashing her a brief smile. "No, it's fine! Just a little spill, but thanks for offering." She took the neckerchief back from Toshiro and looked at it for a moment before shrugging and using it to clean up the rest of the food. Convenience before fashion, she supposed. Looking back up at the two in front of her and feeling a little more than awkward, she added "I'm Lena, this is Toshiro Uzamaki, and you are?" to distract herself.

Toshiro seemed to be getting a little jumpy though, and she frowned as he fidgeted. "You don't have to stay, you know." she mentioned offhandedly. "Got some place to be, don't let me stop you."

He was doing hes very best not to look like a tourist.

Very best.

Yet somehow, no matter what he did, he seemed to stand out in some way or another. He had only come to live in Japan a short time ago, a few months at the most, and was still learning his way around. Also, a language was far different once you put it to use, rather than repeating what you learned in a classroom. He was generally awkward all around, now that he was no longer home, in the states.

Well, his former home.

The city was his new home, now, whether he liked it or not, and he would make the best of it. His move here could of been considered spontaneous and he never really was one with a spontaneous personality, but it was to remember her. A certain friend who had passed away a little under a year ago. She loved it here, so he moved here. It was as simple as that.

The tall, scrawny, silver haired male picked his way through the crowded sidewalk the best he could. Crowds were something completely different to the once southern living boy from the States. It was as if all open space vanished and he was still trying to get used to the feeling. In the mean time, he tried to focus on his destination; a video game release party. That had to be fun, right? He played games every chance he got and the new game being released almost felt like it was calling him.

He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his thin, green jacket and scuffed along, nearly knocking into the trio that was blocking the majority of the walkway.

"My apologies." He spoke hastily, just narrowly missing Toshiro. The bespectacled man, who appeared younger than he truly was, gave a curt nod and an apologetic smile.

Toshiro thought about ignoring Lena's suggestion, but then he realized he was under no obligation to stay. Maybe he could just offer to have them accompany him to the game store? When the gray haired man almost bumped into him, he knew he had to get out of there. Way too many people hanging around. With a stiff nod he said, "Perhaps you'd like to come with me to the release party of a video game? It's quite a huge release, and so there will be several games and the like."

New video games. a reserved novel reaching the book store. These were two of the many things that Lily, a small figured Cantonese speaking girl, was eager for. It was partially the reason for the red rimmed half-frame glasses sitting on the almost non-existent bridge of her nose and insomnia that kept her sane for days. She wasn't a fan of crowds, but yet, she had to make her way through it. Her small voice called out 'sorry' and 'scuse me' as she headed around the people. "hmmm.... where was that video game store again? Was it next to the bus stop or the clothes store?" She said to herself as she wandered past the fated restaurant, Gogo Sushi. She'd only been in there once with a group of her friends. She'd never ever want to go in to eat alone. It wasn't the same.

Down the road, she continued on, wondering where the video game store was. She knew it wasn't very far, but she didn't know the exact location of the store itself. She began to feel nervous and fidgeted her hands in each other. No one she knew was with her. They all had something to do, so she went alone. Bad idea.

Spooky was walking out of the Go Go Sushi shop with her salmon nigiri wrapped up. She still couldn't bear to eat the thing and for some reason she now had taken to carrying it around with her. When she opened the door she was a bit shocked to see all the people. She tried to overhear what was going on and why so many were standing around.

They were taking far too long for his tastes, so he simply shrugged and walked off at a brisk pace, barely brushing past the patron of the blasted sushi shop. When he finally got to the game store, he had missed the opening tourny. Dammit! He'd been wanting to kick everyone's a**. Oh well. Looked like he'd just try to hassle his way into the next one, where all the true gamers really were.

He talked to the people in charge and even threw in his name to prove how big of a deal it would be if they turned down an Uzamaki. When the store owner heard Toshiro's last name, as well as received a generous tip for his trouble, he was placed swiftly into the tournament that was about to commence. Perfect. A few people, seeing the store owner do so, decided to leave and take their business elsewhere - leaving a few coveted slots open for those who hadn't got the chance to play yet. Hmm. I wonder if any of the lot from GoGo Sushi will come. Let's hope not. He grimaced mentally at the thought of those annoying people but what was he to do?

((Laaate tag! 8D; ))

Lena blinked. A video game party? Video games weren't her forte, and the name brought to mind a bunch of sweaty nerds who spent most of their time in the basement, drinking soda and chatting on MMORPGs. But it was something to do, and it was something that wasn't going back to work on The Bodice Ripped, her latest career-breaking catastrophe. Surely she could stand a little nerdiness and loosen up?

He was already ahead of her, and she ran after him. "Wait, I'll come!" Catching up, the author looked around the video game store with considerable confusion. Everyone was looking at games, playing games, and it was crowded. Following Toshiro's lead, she looked at entering the tourney. The game was strange to her, but if everyone else was doing it, why not?

Lily made her way through the crowd and into the store. Her height was at a disadvantage since almost everyone was taller than her short full height of 156 centimeters. This was what she trekked here for. This was it. The tourney. There were many people there that smelled like baby powder and people in general. Luckily no one around her had reeked of spray on deodorant or she might've fallen over right then and there. She made her way to the counter where she could've gotten directed into the tourney area. She admits it that she wasn't the BEST video game player compared to all her friends who were serious gamers. Unfortunately they couldn't have come today. Otherwise, she would've been all over them.

In the distance, Lily could make out an odd figure. One that belonged to only a woman. She was taken back a little as she wondered if that lady was here with her boyfriend or something. Not a lot of girls went to places like these when they could rather be out shopping with their friends or boyfriends. It was only Lily, out of all her friends, who would care to come out and play... She stepped closer to the woman, hoping to make a friend if she was a regular to the store.
