It was another evening and Zuberi was wondering around outside the pack borders, he wasn't far from the pack. He was exploring the bushes in the area in depth. He was trying to identify what each and every smell was so that he could better his knowledge. He wanted to be a scout and he wasn't going to be a very good one if didn't know what different smells were.
As he sniffed about he caught the sent of an another wild dog, they were near by. not in the bushes but close by. He peeked his head up over the bushes and looked around him. He spotted her, it wasn't hard her being so bright in color. She was still quite a distance from him, he wondered what she was doing out at night... he hadn't seen her in the pack and he was pretty sure that he would remember seeing a dog that bright.

Thise area, although she would never call it home, was comforting to Uzuri. The smell of dog surrounded her, and she wasn't scared at all. She often found herself out wandering in this area at night, to let her head clear.
It had been awhile since she had returned home, and it seemed that she spent less and less time away from it. Outings like this were nice, and she often met new creatures, usually nice ones. She started to feel all the bad memories slip away.........
But they never would, and she knew it.
As much as she tries to look happy, they got pushed back into a corner, where she could feel at ease.
Curling up in the cool grass, Uzuri rolled onto her back and started to gaze at the brightening stars.

Zuberi crept towards the resting female. He wasn't purposefully trying to sneak up on her, he had just never managed to become graceful in approaching others. He kinda just kept getting closer to them till they noticed his presents and then greeted them, he recognized that this was probably the best way of doing things but he hadn't come up with anything else.
He watched her closely as he got closer to her, he wanted to make sure he wasn't going to startle her. She was so brightly colored it made him smile, he thought that it was because of this that he was drawn to her, he wanted to know more. He had managed to get fairly close to her, he wasn't sure if she knew he was there, and was ignoring him or if she was day dreaming like he often did.

Although she had come to be more sociable around others, Uzuri's instincts were still very much in control. When she heard the sound of the grass moving behind her, her eyes flicked open, and in an instant, she leapt from her spot and found herself pinning down a young pup. A snarl had risen to her face, and it took a few moments to realize that there was no threat.
Feeling a tad foolish and guilty for attacking with no reason, Uzuri crept back a bit, ears down. "Oh." she was beating herself up a bit inside; why, why would she attack someone in these lands? It made no sense, but in a way, she was proud of herself for noticing him in the first place.

Zuberi took a step back, suddenly wondering for the first time ever if approaching someone out of the blue was a good idea or not. He wasn't sure if he should just leave now and head back to the pack. And perhaps he would should just stay there for awhile.
He thought to himself for a little while, this dog didn't look that mean, and she was very colorful, and that was appealing to him, he wanted to know more. He cleared his throat, "Uh Hi, Sorry if I startled you.... my name is Zuberi, or Strongear or Zuberi-sikio... depending on who you ask." He was trying to lighten the mood... he hoped that they would have a chance to talk and maybe make friends.

Uzuri had been avoiding eye contact until the pup spoke. "Zuberi?" the other name, it sounded strange......but familiar. She knew these lands well, and knew their customs, so the name wasn't overly out of place.
She tried to relax herself, and move on with this. "I'm Uzuri." her voice was clear and strong, but soft enough to still sound sweet. "You......it wasn't wrong for you to come up to me like that, though I'd advise against it at this age, because you don't always know who it is you're coming up on," she tried to return from her ramble. "but I shouldn't of......" her eyes darted away momentarily. "I shouldn't of jumped like that. I'm....I'm sorry." she smiled hystarically, with a look of guilt wrapped on her face.

"Don't worry about it" Zuberi smilied at her. "Its not like anyone got hurts" Zuberi wasn't one to hold a grudge, he was more into just having some fun. Deciding to make a more friendly conversation started. "So are you from around her? I haven't seen you before." He smiled again, he loved to get to know outsiders.
Zuberi decided to get comfortable so he stretched out beside the female on his back. He laughed lightly as he rolled around a little showing his pup side that still shone through sometimes.

Letting a smile slip, Uzuri felt more comfortable around this pup. "Well, I have been here before, to see some friends, but I'm not from here." she looked around, smelling all of the familiar smells that she had passed frequently on her visits. "I don't think I could ever settle down into something like this, no matter how nice everyone is." she had wondered before about joining a pack with her 'mother', but she always backed out at the last minute. Something about it just didn't sit well with her. Things like that just took time.
"So, why is no one else out tonight? I thought you all came out at this time. I was hoping to run into a few dogs I know...." her voice trailed off. Of course they wouldn't be out when she wanted to see them. But she had this pup to talk to, so it wasn't a total loss.

Zuberi listened thoughtfully well Uzuri talked about not being able to settled down. He thought it was somewhat off but he decided not to comment on it, to each there own right? Just because he loved pack life it didn't mean everyone would, and he could understand why some might not like it, even he wanted to get away sometimes.
Zuberi looked behind him back towards the pack borders his turquoise eyes scanning for any other member of the pack that might be around. Seeing no one he turned back towards Uzuri, "We do usually come out around this time." he answered looking around again. "I'm not sure where everyone is tonight in all honesty, I kind of ducked out early, I like to get away before someone from the pack can follow me, that way I feel more free." he said smiling.

"Oh, I see...." Uzuri let her eyes trail off. On that note, she was ready to leave, to travel about the night, reminiscing about her 'puphood.'
She didn't want to leave company that was willing to listen, however. It was rare for someone like Uzuri to find someone who was willing to stay with her, as she came off rough and broken most of the time.
"Sometimes it's nice to know that others care for you." she was referring to another dog following the pup, for safety, she presumed. "That warmth--it's something others would kill for."

"I agree it is awesome to have some someone to take care of you. And when you are in a pack there is so many around that help take care of you. I love it. " Zuberi was completely unaware of the other dog who Uzuri has spotted, he was still young and was more into having a good time then paying that close of attention to what was happening around him, it could be a dangerous habit, but he really hadn't learned any better yet.
"If you have never lived in a pack then do you have family around that you stay with, where did you come from?" Zuberi was rambling slightly but it was just out of pure excitement, he wanted to know more about her.

"Family....?" Uzuri's eyes fell. She had one, once. When she was barely a month old. But then.......
"My family's dead."
For some time, even though she had been staying with an older female, they were more like best friends. Although they did share a special bond.
"I have someone like a mother, though. But I've been wandering away from her so often, our relationship has become....distanced." she shifted her wait briefly. "It's just hard for me to adjust, you see. I was alone from puphood, wandering out on the savannah, fending for myself." a slight laugh came from her. "I suppose that's why I attacked you the way I did."

Zuberi listened carefully, he couldn't imagine living alone in the desert. As much as he thrived for independence and to get out of the pack every once in a while, the thought of completely having to fend for himself gave Zuberi a very humbling feeling. He felt like he know understood so much more about this female wild dog. "Well there is no hard feelings about the attack" he said kindly smiling up at her.
"You must be very brave to have lived all on your own! I depend to much on my family, I don't think I could ever be alone." Zuberi looked down at the ground, he wasn't sure but he thought he might be upseting Uzuri, he looked up at her timidly.

Uzuri's eyes softened, and she smiled. "I don't think it's bravery. I was just too afraid to die." she thought of those days early on in her life as someone else, someone different. But no matter how much she wanted that to be true, she couldn't change who she was.
"I think it'd be nice to feel like that. To be able to depend on someone-- it must be a really nice feeling. Maybe a sort of soft and fuzzy feeling inside, right?" Although they had been together for some time now, Uzuri still couldn't depend on her den mother. She tried so hard to, but deep down, if it really mattered, there's no way she could. She run away again, away from it all, and start the cycle over.

"I never really thought about how lucky I was to have a family, I always thought about how it sucked not to have a dad. I uh never knew my dad, I don't know anything about him at all." he said looking down. He wasn't sure if he should be bothering her with the woes of his life, obviously he had nothing to complain about compared to her.
He timidly looked up at her, "I'm sorry I shouldn't be bothering you with my problems."
