Why, exactly, are you making me do this? Zyanya frowned as she made her way down the streets of Middling, a rather beautiful if not deadly variety of snake draped lazily over her shoulders - seeming to be napping for the time being.
Because, conetl, you have been too long within your room and amongst books. You have not ventured out. You have not even begun to play. So much has happened, and you are behind. You cannot afford to be behind in a game like this.
I think knowing everything I can about the Gods means I have an advantage. Knowledge is power, isn't it? I won't step into it unprepared.
Silence reigned after that. Obviously her Goddess was once more annoyed with her - it had been increasing as of late. The pressure to get out and do more. But, truthfully, until now she hadn't really wanted to get out of her house. The tension between her and her parents had been gradually increasing and she needed to breathe.
"Fine!" she called to absolutely nobody, "Leave me alone, then. I have no idea where I'm supposed to go and you leave! Some use you are!"
Silence.
Mierda. She looked insane.

Writ had seen many things, but a girl with a snake-boa around her shoulders going down the street was something to put on his "something new" list. It certainly drew his attention. The godling aura had him walking towards her. Then he realized who it was. He couldn't quite remember her name, but they ate together a while back. She didn't change a bit. The third unchanged newbie he's seen this month. Was word getting around that growing your kids wasn't a good idea? Writ hoped not. He'd feel kinda strange asking kids to help him with his plans.
"Don't like your god all that much, huh?" Writ's voice came from behind Zyanya.

The girl spun on her heel at the voice, "No." She answered simply enough. She would have, at one point, corrected him about the fact Chal was most definitely a goddess but that would give far too much away. And this was one of the players she had an advantage with. At least, she was pretty sure she did. Heh. Zy thought she was so smart. Thought she'd figured out his God at least.
"Are they always...so....so...." Grasping for words now as her fists clenched. "estupidez?" It was the best word her ten year old self could bother with.

"Short version? Yeah." Writ poked at his head, "When you live with a voice in your head for a couple of years, you notice it's not very bright. You get used to it." Writ tried to be a little empathic, but found it hard. He had shut out Coyote altogether a long time ago.
"Celia, right? Long time no see." Writ waved, "You haven't changed a bit."

Celia...? Oh. Right. That. "I wouldn't say I haven't changed." The girl said with a small shrug of her shoulders. Frankly, she had. Not much, and not physically, but she was starting to get a little fed up with things around her - and her motherly patience was dangerously teetering on the edge of 'breakdown'.
"You have." She offered a half hearted smile his way. "A lot. I know it hasn't been that long since I've seen you." Had it? She was pretty sure it hadn't. Not a year, just yet. No way that Writ could have gotten that much older in those months.

"Yeah, that's what you get when you give stupid gods unlimited power." Writ made a small raspberry with his tongue, "Just a godly growth spurt. No big deal."
He looked down at the snake around her neck, "Well, I don't think that's just a fashion statement." Writ gave it a cautious prod, then backed away, definitely real. Scales and all. He thought he poked it's spleen. Did snakes have spleens? Writ didn't want tempt fate and find out.

HISSSSS Well, that nap didn't last too long. Eyes snapped open at the prod and her mouth opened, revealing sharp little fangs - already dripping with venom. Enemy. He tasted like an enemy.
Zyanya blinked, eyes widening at her companion's behavior - usually a sweet tempered thing unless she was endangered - and Zy knew that she wasn't in any danger at the moment. "Yectli, be good." she murmured. "No, she's not a fashion statement. She's my familiar."
Yectli calmed down at her mistress's words, but she was still on guard.
"Will I grow like you did, then?"

"Oughta be careful with that if I were you, people out there looking for people like us." Writ rubbed his chin, "I don't think people are gonna like your friend all that much."
"Depends on how sadistic your god is really." Writ shrugged, satisfied with the vague answer. He didn't like it when gods completely screw over kids' childhoods, but he didn't have any power to stop them from doing so.

"How would a snake be a giveaway as to what or who I am?" Zyanya asked, furrowing her brows. "It's not like anyone really recognizes poisonous snakes around here. And she's a good form of protection."
It was true.
You're giving too much away.
Well, look who decided to finally make her presence known. A sour look crossed Zyanya's face, arms crossing over her chest.
"Sadistic?"

"It's not that much of a giveaway, I just don't think people are going to just ignore some random snake attack." Yectli didn't rub Writ the right way. He was under the impression that this snake was a bit wild.
"Okay, so I'm exaggerating, just saying your god could give you a boost whenever they wanted, apparently yours is biding their time."

"Well, I wouldn't mind being taller." Zy snorted, a very unladylike activity so she had been told. "I almost wish she would hurry up with it, then." There was a small shrug and fingers went to pet at the snake's head. Completely avoiding continuing the conversation about Yectli. She'd rather not let on that she didn't randomly attack people.
Let him think what he wanted on that regard.

"Being tall isn't all that great." Writ said sarcasticly, towering over the girl, "People have to look up to talk to you, and whenever they do they always have that sort of" He twisted his face into some sort of disgruntled frown, "look to them. Like they feel bad."
"Oh, and the powers too, they aren't that great either."

"It's better than being the one who is always looking up." She countered. "What are your powers? Other than turning into a Coyote, anyway." Zyanya doubted that she'd get an answer to that question. But it was worth asking, she supposed. He seemed to offer up other information fairly easy.

"Well, if you knew, that wouldn't be any fun, now would it?" Writ started to walk around. It wasn't in his best interest to just say up any information up straight. Especially to someone he met many months before. For all he knew she could be one of Ciro friends. No, she would've already asked him if he killed Echo or not. (Again)
He didn't know her, and she didn't know him. They were at least neutral to one another.
"Other than having a grouchy snake, what are your other powers?" Writ asked, poking fun at her.

"Don't have any." She shrugged her shoulders. He didn't need to know exactly what she could do with snakes - and she had another ability, apparently, but Chalchiuhtlicue wasn't giving any hints as to what, exactly, it was. So she was being truthful, to an extent.
"Now, I think that's a fair information trade." Zy said sweetly, "Gimme."
