"Rufio!!" Jenette cried as she summoned up a deep breath. She had been chasing after her growlithe for a good thirty minutes now. "Where are you!?" She said out of breath, flopping to the ground. Jenette had sent out her other pokemon in search of her growlithe, what had made her so hard to keep around?
Rufio had been quite content with sniffing around the edges of the trees... that was until she caught sent of a pidgey not far into the trees and took chase... She had no clue her trainer had been calling for her, she almost had her prize...

So it took only a moment for Raina to see Branimir p***k his ears, sniff the air and then tense up his muscles and burst, full speed, into the forest. "BRANIMIR! COME!" Raina screamed as she took off after him.
About five minutes later Raina stumbled upon her growlithe in a small clearing. He was standing still, tail arched above his back and braced as if ready to attack. That was when Raina heard the bushes snapping and crackling to her right and she turned just in time to see another growlithe burst out of the shrubs.

Rufio came to a stop, her eyes glued to the pidgey just on the other side of the bush. She was so focused on her target she didn't even notice the other growlithe come bursting in on them... but his burting caused her pidgey to fly away. "Oy! Come back!" She barked after it, standing again to watch it fly away. "I was sooo close..." She whined. In an instant his scent floated up her nose and she turned her head. "...?" Noticing the trainer behind him she got wide eyed and took off, now escaping from the couple and trying to find her trainer before this other trainer attempted to catch her...
"Rufio!!" Jenette called again, determined to find her growlithe soon. "Come here girl! Rufio!" She had turned her back for a moment and in a split second the growlithe was bowling her over and licking her face happily. "'Bout time I found you..." She said as she pushed the pokemon off her. "Where did you get off too?"

Raina stared in awe at the other growlithe, it was gorgeous. She was just about to kneel down and see if she could get it to come closer when it noticed her, and was gone in an instant, back through the bushes it had just entered from. Raina frowned and looked at Branimir. If that was a wild pokemon she wanted to catch it but if not... she at least wanted to know who owned such a beautiful pokemon. "Branimir! Track it down boy." she said and just as soon as she did her growlithe was hot on the trail and she was doing her best to keep up.
After much stumbling and a few whacks from tree branches Raina spied Branimir stopped just ahead of her. She caught up to him, panting and peered through the bushes. What she saw surprised her. There was the growlithe and... apparently it's trainer... but... taking a closer look Raina realized she recognized the trainer. "C'mon Brainimir. Heel." Raina said before pushing her way through the bushes and smiling "Jenette!" she called and waved.

Jenette was laying down, a hand idly petting Rufio who was conviently laying across her stomach. "You cause so much trouble... but you're so darn cute I can't help but laugh." She said as she fed the growlithe a small treat for having returned... finally...
The voice brought Rufio down, backing up a little to hide behind Jenette who had sat up. "Hey Raina! Long time no see huh?" She said with a smile as she stood up, Rufio still hiding behind her legs. "What's gotten into you lately?" She mumbled to herself as she walked towards the other trainer. "My, my... when did you get such a handsome growlithe? Don't you know I'm a sucker for fire-types?" She said with a grin as she reached down to give Branimir a treat. "I just got Rufio a while ago... she's still pretty wild but it'll work out of her system... hopefully..."

"Yah it has been awhile." Raina nodded in agreement. Out of the corner of her eye she watched Branimir lift his head and tail, making himself look very elegant as if he were a showdog being judged when Jenette looked at him. Raina giggled and shook her head then turned her attention back to Jenette.
"I got him a few months ago. He's still in training but he's doing a lot better than when I got him. Your growlithe is gorgeous too." she said, watching as Branimir sniffed at the treat and then gently grasped it with his teeth, and took it from Jenette's hand "Good boy." she praised him then reached into her pocket to pull out a treat. She laid it on the ground in front of her "Leave it Branimir." she commanded to make sure that he didn't eat this treat too.
"Rufio, here girl." Raina cooed, trying to coax the shy pokemon into joining the gathering and coming to get her treat. "What have you been up to Jenette? Raina asked, looking at her friend instead of staring at the pokemon. Watching every move Rufio made wouldn't help convince her to come visit with them.

Jenette looked at Rufio with an odd look. "She's normally not so skiddish... perhaps you startled her in the trees?" She sighed and shook her head. "No wonder she came back so quickly..." Patting her leg gently she urged Rufio closer. "It's alright sweetheart, she's not going to take you away from me..." She cooed gently.
It didn't take much more then that for Rufio to step up eagerly and take the treat. Chewing it quickly, she barked in approval and immediately set to sniffing Raina and stealing glances Branimir's way.
Jenette sighed again, "I'll never figure her out..." she grumbled then shrugged, "Really I havn't done much. I've been out exploring a little, that's how I found Rufio. She damn near tackled me when I found her. I havn't seen many other trainers though. It's rather nice to bump into someone I actually know." She grinned and looked to the growlithes. "I'm liking being out on my own..."

"That's possible, I mean, I wasn't expecting another pokemon when I chased after Branimir, well, maybe a rattata or pidgey but definately not another growlithe. I just kind of crashed into the clearing after him and there she was." Raina shrugged, finally noticing that Rufio was at her feet, she stretched out her fingers to gently brush the soft fur on top of her head.
"I know what you mean though, about being on your own, I've been out on quite the camping trip for the past few months. I think I've only slept in an actual bed maybe three nights since we last met. I've been studying the wild pokemon and trying to find new species... so far I haven't had any luck with the new species part, though I have heard some odd calls the past few nights, they don't sound like any pokemon I know." Raina said and then cast a glance to where Branimir was now sniffing curiously at Rufio and then he skipped back, play bowed and he barked once, inviting her to play.
"Oh, that's so cute, he's never done that before." Raina exclaimed and she watched curiously to see what Rufio would do in response.

Jenette smiled and nodded, "I have been walking everywhere, I'm thinking of getting a bike just so I can get where I'm going faster, but I am really looking for special pokemon." Jenette laughed then, "If you havn't noticed I have a thing for fire pokemon." She stretched out her hand and ruffled the fur on Rufio's back.
She watched the interaction between the growlithes and smiled, "Rufio is quiet playful, I'm surprised she hasn't tackled him yet..." At that moment Rufio barked loudly and jumped over Branimir and ran into the trees a little ways, waiting for him to chase after before she would circle back and burst back into the clearing by means of jumping over a bush. Jenette laughed and shook her head. "What a girl... I doubt you'd catch Venna doing that..."
Jenette patted the ground next to her. "Why don't you take a load off and relax for a bit? I'm not in any rush to get anywhere." She smiled and looked up to the other trainer before looking to their growlithes.

Branimir pivotted around as Rufio leapt over his head and then shot off after her into the bushes barking playfully with his tail raised high. He watched as her body shifted and then he darted to the side to intercept her as she went to jump back into the clearing.
Raina watched in amusement then, noticing Jenette's motion she lowered herself onto the ground, sitting crosslegged next to her friend. "I know what you mean about the bike but, I'm looking for a ponyta instead, less maintenance and better company." Just then Raina heard a yip from the bushes and turned to see Branimir leaping over a bush just ahead of Rufio and then dropping to the ground so she could sail over him, she couldn't help but laugh. "Looks like leap frog is popular no matter what the species..."
Watching for a few more moments before turning her attention back to Jenette she smiled. "What pokemon are you looking for now? Don't you already have like... four vulpix, a growlithe and a flaffy?"

Rufio barked happily and took a running leap over Branimir, shaking her tail excitedly, waiting for him to go.
Jenette laughed at the two and shook her head. "What they do for fun..." She grinned and looked back to Raina. "A ponyta, huh? I'd like one too... I'd just love to have a Rapidash..." She thought for a moment of having the fire pokemon and grinned at Raina's comment.
"Actually I have three vulpix, a ninetales, two raichu, a growlithe and a flaffy." She laughed, "You know, I think I like fire pokemon." She grinned then and looked to her growlithe, a hand sliding to her belt which contained her other fire pokemon.
"Raina... would you by chance know anyone that would trade me? I'd like another fire pokemon, and I think my flaffy could use a better trainer... I hardly play with her because I'm so caught up with my others..." She sighed and looked to the playing couple again.

Branimir grinned, tongue lolling out at the side of his mouth, and then ran forward, leaping over Rufio and doing a nice front flip in the process. Then crouched down and waited for her to go again.
Raina couldn't help but giggle "He's more athletic than I thought. Maybe he's supposed to be a gymnist." She paused for a moment, focusing her attention back onto her friend. "When I get a ponyta and it evolves I'll see if it let you ride it if you still don't have your own... but you know how picky they can be and I'm sure you don't wanna get burned just for the sake of a really nice ride." Raina grinned imagining what could happen to someone if they tried to ride a rapidash that didn't want to be ridden.
"Fire pokemon huh? I don't really have a specialty... I guess I just collect pokemon that look good and that have good personalities or are great battlers. If I had a gym everyone would probably get mad at me for not specializing." she laughed again imagining someone coming in expecting her to be a specialist and then finding out in the midst of battle that she had every type under the sun. Then she sighed, being a gym leader would be great but she didn't want to be cooped up, stuck at a gym all the time, she wanted to be out exploring.
When Jenette brought up her flaffy Raina looked at her quizzically and then nodded in understanding. "I don't know, I'm too attached to my pokemon to trade any of them but... maybe you could stop at one of the cities and try asking people at a pokemon center or something if they wanted to trade? I'm sure there is someone out there who would trade for her."
Branimir, growing tired of leapfrog turned suddenly and growled playfully, daring Rufio to attack him, a play fight was all in good fun, and it was always a good thing to be working on his battle skills. He stood, ready to dodge as soon as she gave a sign of what she would do.

Jenette thought more about it and shrugged. "Maybe sometime in the future..." She mumbled to herself, thinking of the pokemon. Her eyes were on the playing pokemon but her thoughts were elsewhere.
Rufio had barked as he flipped over her and she wagged her tail happily, almost ready to jump over him when he turned. Taking in his stance she thought for a moment then smirked in a doggish way and turned, walking back towards the trainers.
Having brought her attention back to her friend and their pokemon, Jenette raied a brow and held in a snort of laughter. "Now you're gonna play hard to get?" She called to her growlithe that was slowly making her way over towards them. "You are such a wanna be player, Rufio." Looking to Raina she laughed.

Raina had been watching the pokemon and raised an eyebrow when Branimir suddenly turned around looking ready to pounce on Rufio. Fully expecting the other canine to take up the same stance she glanced over at Jenette in surprise when Rufio came walking back over to them then laughed at her friends exclamation.
Branimir wasn't having any of it though and with a few bounds had caught up to Rufio and pounced on her playfully trying to knock her over.
Oh no! Take cover! Raina exclaimed as she moved to get out of the way of the playing canines before she got caught in the middle.

It was right before he pounce her she shot off a spiral of flames, the warmth circling them. If he wanted to play dirty, she would play dirty. As she was taken down by his pounce, Rufio quickly turned this way and that to roll on top and playfully spit some flames on him. None of it was hot enough to burn, it was merely to add some fun.
"AIE!" Jenette yelped as the flames shot out. She quickly jumped up and ran a few feet away, hoping that nothing in a ten foot radius would burn up easily. "Uhh... Raina... do you have any water pokemon?" She asked with a sheepish grin.
