Yeah, but when I looked at my temple's calander for all the cultures that celebrate Diwali, let's just say the whole month was packed. O_O;

The mythological significance has to do with Ram, the reincarnation of the god Vishnu, and his wife/sister? returning to the kingdom of Ahodya after his exile.
