It had been far too long since Luna had seen Setsushi. She'd been so busy; time spent at the clinic, time spent with her daughter, her uncle, her poor, troubled cousin... had it really been so long since last she spoke with him?
It was shameful, really. He worked in her mother's café, for heaven's sake. And yet, she never seemed to come by when he was working. Yes, her mother had assured him, he did work there. But Luna's schedule was just too difficult to work with.
Until now. But even so, she'd "just missed him".
But not this time. With Jokeph several paces behind her, she made her way to the address written hastily on the back of her wrist.
Knock. Knock knock knock.
Hello!

The door is open, comes the reply, and Madame Luna is always welcome.
Setsushi, already changed into his native Toukoku casualwear, still rises to greet her, a feeling of deference as well as warm friendliness coloring his projections -- though they suddenly become restrained as he spots her looming guardian. "Er... Madame Luna, Master Jokeph.
"How may I be of service?" Did Madame need something, or is she just stopping by to visit? If she has time, the water for tea is almost boiling.

Not that Jokeph really took pride in looming (Not that he really took pride in anything unless Mistress Luna found it worthy of praise), but he seemed to puff his chest out just a little further when Setushi's projections changed.
That's right. The Porcelain realized that Mistress was his. Or rather, that he was hers.
Luna, on the other hand, remained oblivious to Jokeph's posturing (or, perhaps, ignored them entirely.) She'd only stopped by for a visit; it'd simply been so long, and she'd kept Setushi in her thoughts, even if she had been too busy to stop by and say hello.
And she certainly hoped her mother was treating him kindly. Or at least that he hadn't yet encountered Luna's cousin.

Setsushi's attention on Luna, he thanks her for her concern. Setsushi, for his part, has been remiss in failing to visit her at the clinic. Though perhaps that is well, for he might frighten the children... sweatdrop
His work at the café has been quite enjoyable; though he still feels like a beginner after so many months of practice, he deeply appreciates the atmosphere, and finds Madame June a fair and worthy employer. He does wish that he could have had the pleasure of serving Luna and Jokeph at some point, though -- and smiles.
... And Luna has a cousin in Gaia? Setsushi is somewhat surprised to hear. Setsushi is not sure he was even aware that June had siblings. In any case, Setsushi has not yet met this cousin -- and is not sure why it would not be a pleasure for him to do so...?
He steps back from the door, gesturing for the two to come in, and asking if she (... they?, he wonders tentatively) would not like to share some tea?

Ah! Of course!
And with a slow nod from Jokeph, both entered as Luna continued chattering pleasantly about their family.
The Keth presence on Gaia was actually fairly large, she had to admit. Her uncle, high-ranking where they came from, and her cousin had been spending time on the homeworld until recently.
She had to admit it troubled her a bit; but she didn't want to bother Setsushi with it.
--So she heard her big brother was causing trouble. sweatdrop

Setsushi sends light feelings of understanding and affirmation as Luna talks, as if politely nodding along, while going to the stove to inspect the kettle and then take out an additional pair of teacups.
If Setsushi can be of service, Madame Luna knows she should not hesitate to ask for his help -- but, it is true, Setsushi, being so ignorant of Gaian ways, nevermind the ways of the Keth family, perhaps will not be able to be of much help to her. sweatdrop Still, he is not sure why he should not desire to meet her cousin. Setsushi has not disliked anyone of her family that he has met so far.
Master Boyan included -- though it is true that his presence makes Setsushi's life rather more... unpredictable, the Knight doesn't resent it. In fact, of all Sorcerers Setsushi has known, Boyan is easily the least troublesome.
... which perhaps doesn't compliment the Sorcerers of the Golden World much, but.
What kind of tea would Madame like? And... what will Master Jokeph take? Setsushi hesitantly projects the second question in Luna's direction.

Neither of us particularly picky about our tea, Luna projected, But if you have any lemons, Jokeph would like one. Luna had to admit, it was becoming more and more convenient to simply project words at times. She was careful, however, to also project that she did, in fact, mean a whole lemon in that particular instance.
Boyan, a sorcerer? Luna had to laugh at that. She didn't intend any disrespect; she realized the Chaoses that followed him were certainly significant, but Setushi also had to understand that as they did not do much, and as Boyan himself was happy to raise children (somehow) and putter around in the mud, it was sometimes difficult to see him in any sort of significant role. Sorcerer, Oracle... either way, he was like a helpless child at times. At MANY times.
A pause to collect her thoughts.
But her cousin, Sofi... Luna had to admit she was rather surprised they'd managed to avoid crossing paths thus far. It wasn't that she was a bad person, or that Luna feared Setsushi would dislike her...
It was just that while Boyan's quirks were slow and sticky like mud, Sofi's raged about like a fire fanned by pure insanity. She meant well. And she was a sweet girl. Just...
...Setsushi would know when he encountered her. And Luna feared that day would come rather quickly...
After all, she heard her mother discussing the possibility of officially hiring her as a waitress.

Setsushi ponders a moment before taking out a tin of some very fancy-smelling 'double bergamot Earl Grey' to scoop into the teapot.
...Setsushi was somewhat surprised at the gentle and childlike attitude of Boyan; he seems quite unlike the Celestial Oracle Setsushi knew in the Golden World. But then, Setsushi wonders if that frailness and helplessness -- he tries to frame these unflattering descriptors are politely as he can -- do not allow him to better reach into the hearts of others, drawing their pity and affection, and ultimately forming warm and healing friendships between them?
Likewise, Setsushi is confident that Miss Sofi (... Madame Sofi? he is uncertain of her age) will also have good intentions and ends behind her eccentricities; if she shares the parentage and virtues of the Keth family, he is sure he will be able to at least befriend her. 3nodding
And it will be good for the café to have another server... ... ... and that thought trails off as he shuffles through his fruit collection, looking for a lemon.

Big Brother Boyan did have his moments, Luna pointed out. There were times when the mud would settle, and he would be capable of surprising wisdom and clarity. But those times were few and far between, and, Luna reasoned, perhaps only occurred when his wisdom and clarity were truly needed.

Yes... and when those moments occur, he is able to transmit that wisdom and clarity by the bonds he has formed. Following this line of reasoning, doesn't it seem that Boyan is actually quite a shrewd man, efficient in his caregiving?
... ... ... Though of course it may all be subconscious.
Setsushi returns to the table with a tray bearing three cups of tea, a sugar dispenser, and a lemon.

...Definitely subconscious, Luna would have to agree. sweatdrop
With a polite nod, Luna took a seat at the table. Now, to sample this lovely smelling tea~ heart
And Jokeph, before sitting, briefly signed the words "Thank you".

Setsushi blinks at Jokeph's signing but does not inquire as to its meaning, instead joining them at the table -- sitting across from the two. He takes a sip of his tea... his brow becoming a little crooked.
Though he doesn't project it, in truth, the tea hasn't been steeped enough for him to really taste anything. confused
... And how has Madame's daughter been?

"Thank you," he said. Luna translated. "He cannot speak, and he cannot project. So he speaks with his hands, and his pen when he must." It had been the way of things for as long as Luna could remember; he could hear her, but he simply couldn't communicate in the same ways. Two individuals, completely mute... what a pair they made!
As for Caroline... Luna supposed she was all right. She was at that age where they began to keep secrets from their parents. sweatdrop Not that Luna could pry, even if she wanted to; Caroline and Luna's minds operated on different frequencies, she supposed.
Which made them a family of three, all with difficulties communicating. All three could Hear, Caroline could speak (but not project in a way that Luna, or anyone else, could hear), and Jokeph could neither speak nor project.
Conversations around the dinner table, Luna added, usually involved their hands. It was just easier that way.

Setsushi nods, sending affirmative projections as he frowns slightly, as if keeping track of all these chains of communication requires a bit of effort.
If that is so, perhaps Setsushi should invest in learning this language of hands. Of course, considering Setsushi's ineptitude with languages, it may be some time before he is able to converse properly with Master Jokeph. He smiles nervously, inclining his head slightly to the other man.

Jokeph was quite capable of writing, and he did understand Setsushi, Luna pointed out.
Even so, he wasn't very talkative.
