In this thread, just post anything that you've seen a fellow RPer do that you don't like.
Please leave out names and accusations.
If you want to rant about a particular peeve feel free to do so.

Dear god do I have so many...
1.) I hate it when some roleplayers assume your character has items that they actually don't have. Some people said that my character had a gun when in fact, the time era, was when nobody even used guns of high technology. It was era of swords! In my character's bio it even said my character used a rapier, not guns.
2.) I hate people that act like god on roleplays. Just loathe it...
3.) Poor grammar bothers me. I know sometimes it can't be helped, but most of the time I spend ten flippin minutes trying to figure out what my responder is trying to say.

I hate it when...
You get stuck with a partner who uses past and present tenses. And you have to go along with those oddly formed sentences.

Oh lord, I can't stand when people 'get angry' or 'suddenly have a crazy look' in their eyes. It's a bullshit way to act like you can defeat an opponent that is stronger than you. And it seems like EVERYone does it, too.
It kills me inside a little when respectable roleplayers use this convention.

When I can't find the roleplay inside all of the images and text a person calls a 'post format' or something.

Yes, post format annoys me as well. Althought I would have to say my biggest pet peeve of all, CHAT SPEAK!

One liners bother me the most. Especially if I'm rp-ing with the person and I write a fairly decent sized one for them, and all they give me back is like two sentences of absolute crap. T_________T Being ditched sucks too, its annoying. Again with the they're/their/there thing, also. /end rant

Okay, my biggest pet peeve is when people completely ignore the rules page or the rules of common sense and add new powers to their OC without telling me to add them... I add powers only as necessary for plot expoditing purposes (or because someone else needs it to be present)... Oh... And I'm very guilty of the 'angry look of doom' pet peeve there... But there's always a precursor that makes it appropriate.

I didn't even think chat speak was tolerated enough to be a peeve. If someone enters an RP using chat speak, and the rules don't allow chat speak, can't you report that person?
Ya, when someone enters and RP that far under the post par of the other RPers, that is just disgusting. If a regular is having an off day but doesn't want to make others wait, that is different than someone's first post being that way.

Grammar. I hate it when there're tense shifts. Incorrect use of punctuation. Run-on sentences. I'm fine with fragments, because the style I write in consists of lots of fragments. And for punctuation, a good friend of mine, in real life, never uses quotations. So you can't discern dialogue from action. I absolutely hate that. I know my own grammar isn't perfect, but I do my hardest to make it as perfect as possible.

Not differentiating your characters. If you use more than one character you should differentiate them via color or bold so that you can tell which character you talking about. Spelling. Or more specifically, not using ye olde Spell Check. Copy and Paste to a word document and click "Spell Check" for the sake of my sanity. Sure, I can't spell worth anything but I use spell check to augment that. Please for the sake of my sanity use Spell Check. Plotline Jumping. Switching from the main plotline to a side plotline that doesn't even involve your character or vice versa. Basically having your character walk in to the other plot line without saying why before hand. (I am guilty of the why inclusive) Over Use of light colors. If you can't read a post it doesn't add anything to the plot. If you have to use color use darker ones such as green, blue, dark blue, indigo, brown, or whatever. Use black if you have to just make it legible. Over use of Secondary characters. If you bring a secondary into the plot line or a temp into the plot line, get whatever purpose they serve done quickly so that the mains can be used more often and the plot line stays clean of uninvolved hands (Guilty of this myself). That is all of my pet peeves and they all involve pretty much good old fashioned common sense there. wink

It really annoys me when an rp-er uses chat-speak, bad spelling, bad grammer, bad sentence structure, shifts in tense, etc. Yes, I know I'm picky, but it really makes it hard to understand what you're trying to get across. Take this for instance, "He clims a tree and then fell in a THUMP 'crap o no by back hurt." <-- I think you'll all agree with me when I say that this is horrendous. It's tedious to read AND boring.

Oh... I came up with another pet peeve: Page Stretching. Adding links or whatever to your post and stretching the page out so that you have that scrolling bar at the bottom and have to read all the way across... That is so annoying... sad

Didn't think so many people had the same pet-peeve's as me. I'm guilty about the differentiating in characters, and I made a guide on what to do to differentiate characters. xD Ironic, eh?
I'm trying to get better at that, really I am. smile
Next rant: Unreadable Fonts
I hate it when role players use a font that's hard to read. Sure, I can highlight it, but I don't want to high light every freakin post! It's annoying as can be! How hard is it to choose a font that's readable? Cyan, Yellow, White... I loathe those colors in text!
