((For the breeding RP))

As she walked around the building and led Aria and Ianios through thr portal, Emperial explained the situation in the simplest terms possible.

"This is Luun," she said, lifting Luun ever so slightly, "and he's the new summoner. Since he's a summoner, he has to summon blooms, but he explained to us that he can't just do them the normal way with the plant, he can only do them with other feien, in breedings. Are you two familiar much with the breeding process?"

Aria nodded. "I think so." She waved to Luun, smiling gently as he looked frightened. Poor thing. "I heard we bond back to the plant, then he should work some magic and pretty soon there are new blooms? I might be wrong however," she said sheepishly.

Ian just flew beside her, listening. He wasn't too clear on it himself, but it would be interesting to find out.

"That's essentially it," Emperial nodded. "But there are risks. There's a ten percent chance that one of you could end up with a mutation. That may not seem like much, but it's already occured once, and we've only have three breedings. Additionally, your children have a chance of getting mutations, about the same chance as you do."

Ianios nodded. "That's alright. Gotta take risks, you know? I wouldn't mind a mutation. Makes life interesting."

Aria rubbed her chin in thought. Well, it was a small risk. "That's fine, Em. They'll still be loved no matter what."

"Yep. Treated no differently than any other feien." He smiled at Luun. He was an interesting one. "What happened to your wings?" he asked, curious. He meant no harm in asking. He had just never seen a wingless feien.

Luun nearly had a heart attack at the question. His eyes squeezed shut and his fists gripped Emperial's palm tightly. "I-I-I w-wuh--"

"Best leave Luun alone," said Emperial coldly, shooting Ianios a disapproving glare. No matter how good his intentions or innocent the question, the topic was already one Luun was overly sensitive about. A brief encounter with Fifth guaranteed that.

They were in front of Em's house now. She pushed her way inside without fanfare, holding the door open for her feien guests.

The two feien followed her in. "Sorry about that," Ianios said to Em. "He's a very interesting looking feien, I must say."

Once inside, they looked around. It was very nice, different that Rynn's. Ian was dying to explore, but he knew to hang around Em. No telling where she might disappear too.

Aria grabbed Ian's hand, to keep from getting lost. She was so excited, she trusted him to keep an eye on Em, despite what she knew he really wanted to do. But they were guests and he knew better.

Emperial headed for a heavy burnt copper curtain and nudged it aside. The other side of the curtain was a soft grey faux fur. The room beyond was small, intended as a sunroom, but Emperial was using it as a cramped computer room. Her computer desk sat in one corner, a small dresser in the other. It was amazing that a human fit into this space at all.

Even more amazing was the vibrant green plant sitting atop the dresser. Em motioned for Aria and Ianios to approach it and settled down in her computer chair, that being the only place a human could fit.

"For a few days after the breeding, you'll both be in bloom state," continued Emperial, rocking slightly in her chair. "This is how your genes become interfaced the the plant. I'll deliver your blooms to your bond when the breeding is done and work out what will happen to the blooms resulting from the process with her."

The two brightly colored feien started at the plant. It was beautiful. Ianios felt drawn to it, touching it. Aria landed nearby, staring in awe. They barely heard Em, Aria nodding.

"It's so...amazing..." Ian said, glad he came from such a plant. It was so green...so alive..he could feel power off it. He turned to Em. "So how exactly do we go back to bloom state? Does Luun change us back? Or the plant?" He was finding the whole process to be intriguing.

Aria smiled. She wouldn't mind being a bloom again. "Well, whenever he is ready."

"That's Luun's function," said Emperial, gently depositing Luun in the stalks of the plant. "All you need to do is place one hand on the plant, and the other in contact with Luun." Which was probably easier said than done, given the way Luun was clinging to the plant's leafy stalks and peering out from behind the canopy of leaves.

Aria flew up, landing ever so gently on the plant, using her wings to keep her aloft so not to damage it. She probably wouldn't, but she wasn't sure. She put a hand on the plant, reaching out to Luun. "Luun, we're not going to hurt you. Would you take our hands, please?" she asked gently, smiling softly. She hated to think he was too scared to do so.

Ianios smiled gently, his hand already on the plant. He liked the feel. "Yes, please, Luun. We don't mean to scare you." He was being honest.

Luun hung down from the plant, his legs wrapped around one of the leaves, and held out his hands. "D-d-don't m-move," he managed.

Ianios reached out, not moving. He knew better than to move, as Luun was scared as it was.

Aria stook rock still. She was still excited, but she didn't want Luun to get scared and stopped.

Luun closed his eyes very tightly and concentrated as hard as he was able. The stalk he was attached to began to glow, and the glow quickly spread to Luun, Aria and Ianios.

Emperial shielded her eyes against the light, and in the few seconds she had her gaze averted, it was done. Confused, she looked over at the plant and saw seven blooms.

"You're done?" she said, surprised. Corvus had taken easily twice, three times as long, maybe even more, and he had never done a breeding when he was a juvenile.

With a nod, Luun disentangled himself from the leaf and fell into a heap on the potting soil. Emperial gasped, partly in amazement at his accomplishment, partly in concern, and partly at her own stupidity -- for a moment there, she had forgotten Luun could not fly.

She gently lifted him from the dirt and found he was fast asleep, completely tired out by the effort. "Good job, Luun," she whispered to him, and was secretly pleased that she had finally stopped calling him "it."

Now, to figure out what to do with all these blooms...
