The mostly white male with dark blue coloring and deep purple brilliant orbs eyes filled with so much pain scanned the area. He collapsed against the ground suddenly as he panted his jaw clenching tightly as he held back the tears. He mate was gone along with their three children. Ripped from her belly by that rouge male.
He noticed the dark blue female slowly approaching him. Panicking he got to his feet turning away from his sister and walking on quickly in the same direction hoping to put some distance between them so he could gather his thoughts.
Deep down he was always scared he would blame his dear sister for what happened. He knew he shouldn't but she got distracted and left leaving his mate who was in labor alone and defenseless as a rouge male came.
At the time he had been off hunting only to return with a large meal and a destroyed family. His jaw clenched once more as he moved over careful not to disturb the mood in the swamp he began to lap at it quickly. He then splashed some water on her face she shaking his head sitting at the bank waiting for his sister.

Bekile snorted faintly when the water hit her in the face but she didn't comment as she sat down watching her brother. She knew the pain he was in, the agony that he felt every time he looked at her. Bad enough she reminded him of their mother but...
She sighed softly as she look down at the ground. It didn't matter if he blamed her for his mates death..She blamed herself. She loved Unus so much and it broke her heart everyday that she had failed him.

Pushing the thoughts further from his mind the male looked at his reflection in the water giving a heavy sigh. He watched the tadpoles just under the surface of the water swim about before he flicked a rock into the water making them scared and scatter away. He let out another heavy sigh before looking to his sister an little interested in why she had followed him out of the pride's main gathering.
"Bekile." He said with a nod to her direction once she was close enough before closing his tired sad eyes rolling his shoulders a bit before opening his eyes once more.
"I thought you where searching for Father." He commented as he watched his reflection in the pool not able to meet her eye for more them a few moment's.
It was one of his new curse's. Condimed with the sadness of lost love. He was silent waiting for her words or even her enjoyment in finding the male that sired them.

"I haven't found him yet Brother." The dusky blue lioness sighed softly as she stretched out on her belly, beside her brother close enough to touch him but at the same time there was a noticeable distance between the two lions. Her ears flicked lazily as if shooing away a fly, but it was more of a nervous habit than anything.
A soft sigh slipped from her muzzle as she laid her head on her front legs, her violet eyes sharp as she studied his profile. He had been her everything for so long, her protector when they had been cubs, her confidante as they grew, her leader as they roamed the world and now...now she didn't even know how to speak to him.
"I..I just..." She fell silent for a long moment before giving a tiny, hopeful smile. "I just wanted to spend some time with you. I have missed you..." She tried to not let the longing for him to look at her again with love and something other than utter despair in his eyes, seep into her voice.

He didn't say anything to he as he looked at his reflection before slowly looking to her as he let out a small sigh. He was being horrible brother constantly ignoring her or running away from her resonantly but the pain was getting to much for him to bare and he felt he was about to crack under the pressure to be the perfect brother that knew everything and just what to do.
"You don't have to say it I know." He said softly as he reached a paw out placing it on her softly before making his lungs feel with a shaking breath.
"I think I need to find something." He said as he closed his eyes before opening them once more taking a deep breath as he began to look over the swamps seeing the different insects fly about as he listened to them as well as the frogs.
"There are piece's missing in my heart and I can't ignore them any longer. I need something and I do not yet know what it is but I will find it I'm sure." He said as he closed his eyes.
"Just as I found her I will find something to make my whole once more."

She didn't want him to be perfect, she just wanted her brother to love her again, though she knew she didn't truly deserve it. After all she was the reason his heart was broken and that he was alone.
When he touched her, she lifted her head to look at him stunned. It seemed as if it had been forever, since he even let her get this close to him, much less willingly touching her. She leaned into the brief contact with a soft purring sound. Though she knew the contact would be brief she savored it.
"Unus...Do you still hate me? I know I can never bring her back, Gods know that I would have gladly give my life this moment if I could go back and change what happened." She looked up at him then, tears in her violet eyes.
"I would do anything for you, you are all I have ever had and the fact I would do nothing.." She winced away crouching down against the ground, her belly sinking into the mud.

Unus took a deep breath as he looked into her eyes a moment. He then looked to the sky or what little of it he could see smiling ever so softly. "Hey Bekile...I'm thinking of finding someone again." He said softly taking a deep breath.
"I want to have someone beside me...Don't get me wrong I love you Bekile." He said softly his eyes locking onto hers. "I just would like something that's mind again." He said as he looked to the water.
"Maybe try the whole family thing over again." He said the smile returning to his lips. He hadn't had the heart to look upon what little bit of his old family that had escaped his former lovers womb. It was to heart breaking to see them all bloody like the. So he had no idea how they had looked and this made him want to know...but in doing so that meant he had to find someone...Someone that he could feel comfortable enough with to do so.
"I think I want to find a new mate..." He finally said whispering slightly.

A soft, little smile crossed her muzzles as she scooted over to him on her belly. Then, much as she had as a kitten, rolled over on her back to paw at his mane gently. "And I will be here with you, ready to welcome whoever you find into our family."
Her smile was loving as she looked up at him, "We aren't alone here. We have a home and well..." Rolling back to her feet she paced a few feet away. "I did something Unus, and it's not something I am proud of."
Sighing softly, she spilled out the entire story of her brief romance with the rouge Vestip and how he had abandoned her. Looking down at her feet she whispered, "I was so angry I gave into the sweet, lying promises of another rogue...and now he is gone and I am...well I am pregnant."
Her violet eyes were a bit wide and scared as she looked at him. He had always been her big brother,her protector who made everything ok and now she needed him more than ever.

He eyes went wide as he jump onto her his upper arms on either side of her head his back legs on either side of her body as he starred down at her confused but his eyes where twinkling.
"Bekile...That's not something to be sad about sure you don't have someone to share them with but you have babies coming!" He yelled out getting excited. If there was one weakness to this depressing lump of a lion he was it was innocence of cubs. He loved them with all his being no matter who's parents they where.
"Bekile this is great...I'll help you." He said smiling as he leaned down nuzzling his nose against hers. "I have to practice for when I'm a real father this time." He said his heart swelling with joy as he stepped away from his sister before looking around.
"I should get you something to eat!!" He said before he ran off not listing to her please for him to return or thank you's not his mind was so locked on the idea of getting his sister food.

Bekile blinked after her brother a few times then burst into laughter. Here she had been afraid that he would reject her out of envy, instead, he was acting like the happy and playful brother she once knew.
Smiling faintly, she looked down at her belly with an amused smile, "You bratlings are going to be spoiled rotten. Your Uncle Unas will be letting you all get away with murder, I can see it now."
Shaking her head again, Bekile moved back towards the cave that she had selected as 'hers' to stretch out and wait. It would be awhile before Unas came back...but this time she was sure he would come back and stay. Resting her head on her front legs, her smile widened. They were defiantly on their way back to being a family.
