It was a bright sunny day. The water from the river was sparkling, perhaps that was birds she heard in the distance? Hadiya didn't know, but today was perfect. She had finally woken up from sleep and she figured it was about noon. She stretched out, yawned, and finally jogged around a bit. Something was nagging at the back of her mind. Today was too perfect. She sniffed around a bit. What was it?... Jaha! Where was he? She hadn't seen him yet, but she thought something might be wrong. "Jaha?" She called out, though lightly.

Jaha woke suddenly at the sound of his mate's voice. It sounded concerned, which probably meant trouble. Fearful for is mate, he quickly sprang to his feet and ran towards her. Or atleast that's what should have happened in his mind. What had actually happened was, he quickly scrambled onto his feet, stumbled over to her, and collapsed before her.
"What's wrong dear?", he tried to say strongly, but only came out as a cracking rasp.
Ugh... This wasn't any fun. As soon as he had gotten up to see the 'problem', all the colors became muted, and had become splotchy with black. Terrible dizziness had overcome him. His head was throbbing in protest to feeling like it weighed 20 pounds. It seemed like his voice had given up on him. It seemed like someone had over night without his knowledge, beaten him senseless with rocks.
Jaha looked up to see the beautiful face he adored. But not only was it there, it seemed to have picked up some friends that looked exactly like it and were moving around endlessly.

Hadiya jumped a bit when Jaha suddenly got up. She panicked a little when he stumbled over and collapsed and sighed when he asked her his question. She could now tell that he was most likely wasn't feeling good or he was sick. "Jaha! You really shouldn't be getting up so quickly. You should just lie down." She told him, trying to comfort him by rubbing her head against his.
"Jaha, I believe you're sick. You shouldn't try to get up until you feel completely better."

Jaha sighed as he heard what she had said. Or rather, what he thought she said. It sounded muffled, as if someone had stuffed his fur in his ears. What he had heard was, "Jaba, don't get up so kicky. You should stop lying."
Jaha had taken insult to this as he was hallucinating and delusional. In a deeply slurred voice he said. "Firstofall, I'm no kicky 'n I'm notlying!" But his strong protest was interrupted by some spontaneous cuddling. "That's nice.", he said, still delusional. His head was spinning as he looked up to see a cloud. "Ooh, pretty cloud!", he said happily, extending his leg and wiggling his paw as if he were trying to bat at it.
"Bu-but, the cloud needs me!", Jaha said in a distressed voice.

Oh no. Oh no no no! Jaha was obviously hallucinating and not able to understand her. If he was in this condition because of something he ate, she would kill him when he got better. But for right now, she had to try to heal him somehow.
She sighed. "The cloud needs you to lie down and go to sleep." She replied to his delusional antics. She sat down next to him, trying to figure out what to do next.

It had indeed been something he had eaten. He had seen a funny looking cactus. To him, it smelled delicious. It had a few red fruits between the spines so he had plucked them from the plant and sucked on them and mashed them up. They had been just as delicious as they smelled, but they had unfortunate side-effects. He may have had some fun hallucinations, but it had also caused an almost mental breakdown, and symtoms similar to a terrible case of the flu.
"CLOUD!", he wailed. In his mind, the cloud was his friend, and he was currently having the reaction of a cub being taken away from his comforting chewing bone. This wasn't good. He wasn't thinking straight, and this probably wouldn't pass for another 24 hours or so.
He stared up at the cloud for a few minutes, watching it turn from white, to pink, to purple, to blue, and to yellow. He closed his eyes and there was suddenly a tree, big eyed and happily singing. Euphorically, he mumbled the tune it was singing to him. "La-di-da, Trees have leaves. La-di-da, Please don't sneeze!", Jaha's head rotating in a small circle as he tried to dance tone-deafly to the tune.

If she could, Hadiya would've hit her head on that tree nearby until she had gotten a headache. She didn't think Jaha would get sick suddenly like this. Weren't there usually some warning signs? She sighed again, and flattened her ears when she heard him singing. Note to self, don't let Jaha sing ever again after this is over. She thought to herself.
She got up and started to sniff around for something that might help get rid of this sickness. She had wandered a few feet away from him. She looked back, to see that he was still where she had left him, and continued her quest. She hated to leave him there by himself, especially now, but this had to be taken care of.

"Frad-di-la-di-da! Squeeze the breeze! Bees love cheese! Frad-i-la-di-DAAAAA!", he sang senslessly and horribly in a loud, tuneless finale. Jaha was normally weird, but not this weird. Not to the point of thinking, 'bees love cheese'.
Jaha then climbed to his feet and looked back at his friends the cloud and the tree. The cloud then proceded to ask Jaha for a hug. "M'kay Cloudy!", he said blissfully. He stood on his hind legs and grasped at the air. "But I can't reach!", he groaned sadly. "Tree-y, could I climb on you to give Cloudy a hug?" He asked hopefully. Obviously, the tree didn't protest.
Jaha climbed up to the first branch as a dizziness attack struck, as he fell to the ground. "Bad Tree-y, BAD!", he hissed scoldingly. "Let's try this again.", he said irritatedly.
He had made it to the third branch when his vertigo hit again. Clinging to the branch for dear life, he wailed, "Stop it Tree-y, stop shaking!"

If Hadiya looked at herself now, she would probably see her eye twitching in irritation. She had found a cactus, at least she thought it was a cactus, with some berry remains around it. So this is what Jaha had eaten. Hadn't he ever been told not to eat strange things!? Even though it smelled good, it still wasn't a good idea.
That's when she had heard yelling. She ran back to where she had left Jaha and found that he was not there. She turned back and forth, trying to find him when she spotted him hanging from a tree branch. More panic arose. She didn't know what to do! She certainly couldn't catch him because he would crush her. Hey, he was still bigger than her, and weighed more than her. Her tail swung back and forth in a frenzied pace as she tried to think of something to help him.

Watching the world swirl around him, he saw what he thought was his mate with hot pink, purple and yellow splotches. Forgetting where he was, and what condition he was in, he lifted one of his scarlet paws to wave at his mate, only to plummet to the branch below. He screamed in fear like a little frightened cub. He was now only inches from the ground, but he was still screaming madly as if he were still falling to his death.
He actually had never been taught to not eat strange things. Without parents or anyone to raise him, it's the reason he survived. Without the lesson he had taught himself, he never would have tried eating fish. Obviously he should have known by now, but he didn't. He honestly didn't know some of the basic lessons even young cubs had been taught.
This is why Hadiya and Jaha belonged together. Hadiya seemed to have a natural motherly instinct, and Jaha needed both a playmate, and an authority figure because of his natural immaturity.

She sighed and almost thought about laughing at him right now. Yeah, she would definitely be taking care of the cubs most of the time. And Jaha. But right now, he needed her help.
She walked over to the branch he was on and looked up at him. "Jaha, you're okay. Calm down." She said, hoping her voice would be better than the actual words since he seemed to be mixing them around.

Screaming deafeningly, his voice slowly decreased in volume as he heard Hadiya talking to him. Thinking he was high in the air, he spoke much louder than he needed to, "I am NOT gay! And I want to come down, but I'm a couple hundred feet in the air right now!"
This was insanity, even for Jaha, but Hadiya was right, she probably would be doing most of the work with the kids. If she left him alone with them, they would probably go on an 'adventure' and get themselves lost. Truth be told, the cactus fruit probably would have made a normal lion seem like Jaha, but it made Jaha pretty close to clinically insane.
Jaha glared up at the sky, towards the cloud and shouted, "This is all your fault! You are never going to get a hug from me! EVER!"
Ok, scratch that, Jaha was clinically insane when he ate cactus fruits.
"Help..."

Hadiya sighed as she looked at him. She had to get him out of the tree. She started to rub against him. "See? I can rub against you and I'm on the ground. No, I'm NOT hundreds of feet tall, you're just a few inches above the ground. Now let go!" She yelled, almost ordered him to do.

Startled by her tone, Jaha let go immediately and landed on his rump. "Oww... That hurt! You said it was just a few inches, but it hurt
Jaha wasn't sure what he had done to make his love mad, but it must have been pretty bad. He lowered his head and his ears drooped. Why was she so mad? He tried to backtrack on all that he had done in the last day that he had done that she could possibly be mad at him for, but with all the colors, it was hard to focus. And then suddenly... "Wachoo!", he sneezed loudly.
Ugh... He was back to not feeling good again. "I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong, but I'm sorry", he said through his stuffy nose.

She giggled when Jaha fell and complained about his rump. She knew she shouldn't but she couldn't help it. When she heard his sneezing, she was slightly startled and jumped a little. Then she heard his apology and she felt guilty for laughing at him. She started to rub against him.
"I'm not mad at you, but you need to never eat strange foods. Even if they do smell delicious." She scolded lightly, still rubbing against him. She started to purr, hoping that it would calm him down.
