Im so tired of school interupting my playing time, how is it that you guys manage to practice more than an hour a day, when I ( most of the time) can only practice 30- 60 minutes a day, today I finished and I had to practice an hour, but I had to study so much, and do so many home works, that I am exausted, and Im prolly going to go to sleep soon, and on school days its worse...how do you manage?

Well at maximum, I have from 3.45pm (the time I get home from school cause it takes 30mins to walk home) until around 10.30pm to play guitar amplified. But yeah I also have alot of other things to do of course.
But you can often practise several hours without noticing how long you've been playing.

School > work, because at least I can sleep in class. xp
I barely have time to practice anymore. I get up at 6am, go to work at 7am, work, get back home at 7pm which already makes me tired and want to just play WoW. gonk

First of all, I have to be uin the mood to play. Im not one of those people that dorces themselves to woodshed every technique for 6 hours at a time. I basically sit down, run through my techniques for a set amount of time (bout 15 mins each), and then play around till I feel like stopping. I have from around 3:15 to 8:00 to play amplified on my big amp, and untill 10:00 on my Fender Mini-Twin. Marching Band season is over so the only after school practice I have is Jazz band on mondays, but even with all that free time I don't play that much. Alot of my tie is taken up by doing research for my guitar project (coming to a thread near you in Spring of 2006!).

and then there is the issue of not being able to use an amp when your parents are home. My dad works at home so my guitar practice time has been suffering crying
its okay little guitar, mommy still loves you! *huggles guitar and plans hours of practice time during the weekend*

My dad works at home so my guitar practice time has been suffering crying its okay little guitar, mommy still loves you! *huggles guitar and plans hours of practice time during the weekend* Grab yourself a Fender Mini-Twin amp. Its about $35 and has some great tone for a 1watt thing. Great overdrive at very low volume, but its impossible to get pure cleans out of.

I play it in class, but I'm not in the school band.
Oddly, my teachers let it slide.

I got to a catholic school, there are rock bands, ( good ones too, a guy even plyed the solo on Mr. Crowley today, others played Hote california, etc.) anyways my teahcers woudnt let me in, and music teacher is kinda strict, I only get to play a shitty dean during recess, like once a week thanks toa crappy schedule

Wow. You get to bring your guitar to school? I wish I could do that. But I'd end up playing songs for the class. And I'd have nowhere to put it. And I like to play loud, so I'd kinda stand out from the deadly silent class room. And in highschool, you don't have recess. But when I go back to gym, I should be good to go.^.^

That's what I like about university. You can do practically anything and get away with it (like bring your guitar to school). Here's the best part: My university gets grants for stuff that's music related. Today I'm going over there to set up a 5.1 surround sound monitor system with their Pro-Tools hookup that they haven't figured out yet. It's nuts. at least I'll have somewhere to go and mix though.

Wake up early and practice. 3nodding Your my learns best early in the morning anyway. Get up at around 5, thats not to early trust me. 3nodding If you get to bed by 11 or 10 you should be pretty well rested. If your up by 5 you can get about an our of practice in if school starts at 8 or somthing like that for most people. You could even get up at six and play for an hour or so. Your family may be sleeping and what not but you can always just run through scales and practice your chords before you go to school then come home and just Jam. 3nodding
