About Monsoons and Rain By definition, a monsoon is a seasonal wind. In fact, monsoon is thought to be derived from the Arabic word, "mausim" meaning "season" . Monsoon is a term representing a wind that blows from one direction for a period of the year and roughly the opposite direction for the remainder of the year. Depending on the direction of the wind, there may be very different weather and climate. A strong monsoon will produce excessive rains during the rainy season and consequently, severe flooding occurs. Generally rain is water falling in drops from vapor condensed in the atmosphere. Typically made up of fresh water, rain falls as precipitation from clouds. The falling drops of water are considered rain if they are larger than 0.02 inches in diameter. In forecasts, rain usually implies that it will fall steadily over a period of time. This Monsoon egg was received by x.Skada.x on October 12th, 2005. Care of egg:
Keep it cool and wet as possible until it hatches. It should hatch in 5-10 days. Update: Hatched Oct.30th, 2005!

Kaskazi, who goes by the pet name Kazi, is an entergetic little bubble of laughter and giggles. She loves to play and explore, and is always beng adventurous in one way or another. However, she has a lot of trouble with self-control, and can often be too entergetic without realizing it. She can also be a bit mood swingy, being really happy one minute and then very angry the next. Luckily, she tries to make everything better if she does something wrong.

Kazi is not the only lovable monsoon baby floating around, there's another!

Ryoku is monsoon waters at sunset, while Kazi is the bright sparkly daytime blue.
