Shaking his head to disperse the negative thoughts, he leaned forwards looking through the crack again.
Kiriwar had food and plenty of it, carrying it in a basket as he made his way back towards the dorms. But something drew him towards the Hatching Grounds, wanting to get another look -- maybe there would be someone there for company when he arrived. He passed by the alcove where his boy slept -- when he wasn't with him -- and made a note to visit him once done looking at the eggs, before carefully beginning to squirm into the area that would lead to the crack in the wall. Once there, of course... there he was. Kiriwar paused, blinking in surprise, before a grin slowly spread on his lips... He set down the basket silently, before slowly moving forward and placing his hands on Davian's shoulders. "Boo."
Davian squinted trying to get a better look, one egg looked almost big enough to be a small brown but he wasn’t sure. He was so involved in trying to get a good look at the eggs that he didn’t even hear Kiriwar sneak up behind him. So when he spoke Davian jumped sky high, swallowing a yell so that he didn’t upset the junior queen. Whipping around he glared at the older Candidate. ”Kiriwar!” He kept his voice half hushed, and as he stared at Kiri’s face he sighed. He couldn’t stay mad at the Vintner. ”You scared the hell out of me.” The corner of his mouth quirked upwards in a half smile.
Kiriwar muffled laughter at Davian's reaction to his surprise, grinning at the other boy and pulling him into a hug. "I couldn't resist, I'm sorry," he murmured, nuzzling at the other's hair tenderly. "See anything interesting, Davian?" He leaned closer to peer through the crack at the eggs, blinking slowly and smiling. "I brought some food, too."
His smile widened at the actions of the older boy and he reached out giving his hand a quick squeeze. ”It’s alright, I can’t stay mad at you.” He chuckled and scooted over to the side so that Kiriwar could see in the crack easier. ”Nothing too spectacular, the junior queen’s asleep.” At the mention of food Davian grinned, that was one thing he had forgotten on his adventure. ”Food? Where?” With a grin he started running his hands over Kiriwar’s legs and chest ‘searching’ for food.
A big smile spread over Kiriwar's lips when he was forgiven, the Vintner scooting to get a better look, gaze going over the eggs and the queen herself, before he glanced over at Davian. A quiet laugh of surprise came from him when the other began to touch him, Kiriwar grinned happily and moved closer to the other boy, hugging him tightly. "Not -here-, boy. There," he said, nodding towards the basket of food.
Davian grinned settling into Kiriwar’s embrace for a moment before he pulled away. ”Oh, I knew that.” Laughing he reached around the other male snagging the basket of food. Rummaging around inside he grinned and took out a piece of red fruit, he hadn’t realized how hungry he was until just now. He bit into the fruit hungrily, juice dripping down his chin. Quickly he chewed and swallowed digging through the basket to look for a cloth to wipe his mouth. Not finding one he just licked at the juice with his tongue before glancing at Kiriwar, ”So how’s your day been so far?” Staring at the dark haired boy he marveled at how he had gotten so lucky to end up with someone like him, it almost didn’t seem fair for Davian to keep him all to himself. Almost.
Kiriwar's gaze slowly traveled down Davian's chin, watching that trickle of fruit juice, before leaning in to slowly trail his tongue along the spot that Davian had himself missed. Then he smiled broadly, brown eyes warm. "Rather well. I've just been relaxing, eating... I took a little nap for a while," he said, shrugging a little and kissing at the other male's cheek, before picking up a meatroll to bite into it, chewing happily. "Mm, this is good... It's been a while since I ate, to be honest. Like, this morning."
Davian’s eyes flickered downwards watching as Kiriwar licked up the juice he missed. A shiver ran down his spine and his mind began to spiral to much less innocent places he could lick. He gave himself a mental shake and smiled back at his lover. ”Sounds pleasant, I spent my morning running around delivering messages.” He chuckled and lifted his hand pulling his hair over his shoulders so it hung down his back. It was hanging freely today, and the reason was obvious when he pushed it over his shoulders, his neck and collar bone both were sporting round blue-ish purple marks. Taking another bite of the fruit he laughed. ”Neither have I, and I ran off most of what I ate already.”
Kiriwar glanced up, catching the other's look and grinning playfully, before sighing softly and continuing to eat. "Mm, I'd like to go with you sometime. I can only imagine the variety of messages you have to deliver -- military requests, love notes, bitter notes..." he said, trailing off with a laugh and wrinkling his nose, finishing off his first meatbun, before reaching for a piece of fruit. He then caught sight of those marks, his smile broadening. "Aha... I was wondering why your hair was down," he said, flashing a grin, before shifting his hair aside to show one of his own. "How naughty we are, huh? I hope we aren't too obvious."
Davian smirked when Kiri mentioned wanting to go with him. ”You sure you could keep up with me?” There was a teasing tone in his voice and a playful look in his eyes. ”Oh, I get all kinds of messages, requests for dragon food, lovers angry because their beds are empty at night,” He finished off his fruit and then scooted towards Kiriwar, leaning against him, his head resting on his shoulder. ”Yes, my sister interrogated me about it for nearly half an hour before I gave in and showed her. When I told her who did it….” He trailed off remembering the look on her face and he couldn’t help but chuckle. ”well let’s just say she was surprised.” He reached up running a finger along the love bite he had left on Kiri’s neck ”Mmmm, extremely, but you bring out that side of me.” He smirked turning his head, nipping at his neck playfully. ”I don’t mind being obvious…maybe it’ll keep all those boys away from you.” He pouted a bit, he wasn’t blind he knew Kiri was gorgeous and garnered quite a bit of male and female attention, even if he only like the former.
Kiriwar curled an arm around Davian to gather him closer, rumbling contently in his ear. "I know I could keep up with you," he whispered then, a husk to his voice, before he grinned broadly and wrinkled his nose, a playful twinkle in his eye. "I'd like to meet your sister sometime... are the two of you very alike?" he asked, before pausing when that finger ran over his neck, drawing a shiver down his spine and making him rumble once again. "Mm... Don't worry about them. They flirt and I flirt, but -you- are what's important to me," he said, looking at Davian seriously and stroking a hand gently along his side. "Just ignore them, okay?"
Davian shifted closer to Kiriwar nearly in his lap now, he shivered as the older Candidate whispered in his ear. Shards, he loved the male’s voice. At the question Davian laughed. ”We look quite similar, but we’re different personality wise. I was always the one causing trouble and she watched my back. I think she’d like you though.” His fingers paused on Kiriwar’s collar bone before falling to rest in his lap. At his words he smiled crookedly, ”I’m sure they want to do more than flirt with you,” He laughed looking up into his brown eyes. ”I’ll try, just as long as I don’t end up delivering my own angry message because a certain someone has stopped frequenting my bed.” He smirked his hand lifting to play with Kiri’s hair.
Kiriwar hummed thoughtfully as Davian described the differences between him and his sister, nuzzling at the other's hair, before promptly drawing him into his lap, holding him close. But he winced at those next words, sighing softly. "I'm trying, Davian... I do care for you," he murmured, looking up at the other with a crooked smile. "I won't abandon you or anything, I swear." With that, he pulled his boy closer, into a gentle kiss.
The sixteen turn old felt his heart flutter slightly at Kiriwar’s words, and he shifted slightly so that he was facing the other male and could wrap his legs around his waist. He trailed his fingers along Kiri’s cheek lightly as he promised loyalty and he smiled. He couldn’t exactly ask for more than that. He leaned forwards slightly, pressing his lips against Kiri’s. After a moment he pulled away slightly, pressing his forehead against the other male’s gently. He stared into his eyes and then smiled, ”I think…” He trailed off for a moment his smile widening. ”I think I’m in love with you.” A more sensible part of him was saying it was all in his head, the rush of finding someone who cared for him, but he couldn’t deny that he cared for the older male.
A content sound slipped from Kiriwar's throat when he was kissed, one hand lifting to stroke through Davian's hair, occasionally slipping down his spine, just wanting to touch the other. The kiss broke and he sighed contently, opening his eyes a little with a soft smile on his lips as their foreheads touched together. But those words startled him and he stared for a long moment, blinking slowly, before moving in for a soft kiss again, pulling Davian closer to him. "I can't say the same yet," he whispered when he pulled back. "But you do mean a lot to me."
Davian shivered under Kiri’s touch, he felt completely content in that moment. After he made his surprise declaration of love he returned the kiss, one arm slipping around Kiri’s back, the other still playing in his hair. When they broke apart he couldn’t stop the small frown that appeared on his lips, but he quickly turned it into a smile. ”It’s okay,” He hadn’t really expected him to say it back, they had just met, he probably shouldn’t have said anything all. He was starting to wish that he hadn’t, ”It’s enough that you care,” He smiled again, leaning forwards to press his lips against Kiri’s again, holding him close, trying not to think about the potential mistake he had just made.
Kiriwar stroked a hand over Davian's hair, sighing quietly and kissing him again -- did he love him? -Could- he? Oh he was sure he could, he realized immediately, he just wasn't sure when... He could only pray his feelings would not be slow for this boy. "Mm... so, did you see anything interesting about the eggs this time?" he asked softly, switching the conversation to something entirely different, still holding Davian close even as he looked over towards the crack in the wall, peering through a little.
His lips moved gently against Kiriwar’s savouring the kiss. At the change of topic he blinked slightly confused but it didn’t take him long to roll with it. He turned just enough so that he could look over his shoulder at the crack. ”Well, I thought I saw one of the eggs twitch, but it didn’t happen again so I may have just been seeing things.” He chuckled looking back to Kiriwar, wondering what would happen if the older Candidate Impressed and he didn’t. They’d have to stop frequenting each other’s beds then, Riders and Candidates were kept separate. He shook his head slightly trying to pull his mind away from the negative thoughts.
Kiriwar winced at the abruptness he used to change the topic, keeping Davian in his arms and nuzzling at him tenderly, purring in his ear. "Mm... that would be wonderful. I keep hearing rumors that the Touching will begin soon," he murmured, smiling broadly. There was a chance they could Impress, the both of them... but he wasn't sure how good of a chance there was in that. The Vintner sighed softly, then looked up at Davian with a tender smile. "Hey... cheer up? Smile for me, love."
Davian hummed his eyes closing as Kiri nuzzled him, he wasn’t sure how he could be upset when he was with Kiri, he was perfect. At his words his eyes fluttered open and he smiled a bit, that was a rumour he hadn’t heard yet. ”Really? That is exciting.” He ran his fingers through Kiri’s hair, twirling the strands around his fingers loosely. He glanced slightly downwards at Kiriwar and couldn’t help but smile at the look on his face. ”Just for you,” He leaned forwards kissing him gently, before pulling away slightly. ”You make me happy.”
Leaning into the touch of Davian's fingers, Kiriwar smiled when the other did, looking relieved. "You make me happy, as well, Davian," he murmured, before moving in for another gentle kiss, moving his lips gently over the other's. There was just something about the younger male that warmed him, quickening his heart and making him forget everyone but Davian. Slowly, he drew back again, a content sigh escaping him and his fingers playing with the ends of Davian's hair.
Davian smiled into the kiss, his eyes slipping closed as he pressed his lips against Kiri’s. He didn’t know how or why Kiriwar made him feel the way he did. He was beginning to stop questioning it though, and instead just enjoy the time he spent with the other male. When he pulled away Davian smiled at him, trailing his fingers along the side of his neck, dipping his head so that his lips could follow his fingers across Kiri’s skin. ”Shards, Kiri, I can’t keep myself off you.”
Kiriwar kissed Davian in return, laughing softly afterwards and stroking his fingers down the other's back. "I've noticed," he murmured, grinning playfully. "But try to. I want to get something to eat, and I want you to come with me, and I don't want us to get all distracted and end up starving to death." He grinned even more, chuckling with his words.
Davian laughed at Kiri’s words and lifted his head smiling at him. He pouted pretending to be upset, ”Well, I suppose I can try.” He grinned, only teasing and he leaned in stealing a quick kiss before he slipped off the Vintner’s lap and stood up. Reaching down he picked up the basket of food that Kiri had brought and realized it was empty which wasn’t surprising, the older boy had only brought enough food for one after all. ”I wouldn’t mind something substantial myself,” Fruit didn’t exactly fill him up. Smiling he offered Kiri his free hand to help him up off the ground.
Kiriwar sat back a little as Davian scooted out of his lap, giving the boy room to do so, before peering into the basket a bit sadly. "We finished that off rather quickly," he commented, then chuckled and watched the other stand up. "I bet they have soup ready by now," he said, grabbing the other boy's hand and pulling himself up easily, stretching his arms over his hand and making a rumble of happiness at the feel. "And I bed it's delicious."
Davian chuckled at his first comment, yes they did devour everything in the basket quite fast. At the mention of soup the boy smiled, ”Mmmm, soup.” The idea of soup was highly appealing and he could hear his stomach grumble, agreeing with him. He watched as Kiri stretched, poking him in the stomach playfully. ”The soup’s always delicious. Well, unless you let it go cold, then not so much.” When he was done stretching Davian reached over slipping his hand into Kiriwar’s so they could walk to the dining hall together.
"I love soup, and they always come up with something new for us to have," said Kiriwar, laughing from the poke to his stomach and leaning over to press a playful kiss to Davian's cheek, smiling warmly afterwards. "Let's go eat." He curled his fingers with the other boy's, drawing him out of the small area and leading him towards the dining hall, humming softy as they went.
