Karana: After the recent incident with the new male amongst many Karana found herself staying close to her domain, her history, her lifestyle. She was happy that she had Fia to teach, to ensure the future here, to make sure the traditions and past would never be forgotten, it was important, just as important as the boundaries of the pride or the soldiers to defend them. Flicking her tail she looked at the stones before her, looked at the reds and black, the whites, and then had her eyes fall upon the rendition of the golden cub, Uddhava, she would remember him even after anything that might befall the simo at heart. Traditions, rules, color and strength, but there were limits.
Most of the children within the lands had grown up or grown old, some were even adolescents now, which amazed Badieh, some were on the brink of becoming adolescents, No and Kidondo's children were even older and no long the round cubs they used to be, Fia a prime example. They were the future, though the adults kept the ride together, expanding with new accepting souls and life born into the sands, she sighed as she raised a paw to color in the pelt of the male she had met, namelss, nameless still even with the dual colored eyes. Fia was about, assuming with Ea and so she worked on.
Sinbad: It was always nice to feel full. The small gazelle had been just enough to satisfy him. With his children, and younger siblings, all fed and out playing, exploring, and practicing whatever foolishness the new pride had them doing- he was free to do as he pleased. Of course, he was -supposed- to bring some of his kill back to help the pride.... but he had been raised a lord. His food was his food. He'd share with his blood, his kin, or any he felt worthy of the effort expended to take down the prey.
He licked at the blood that had stained his maw, smirking as always, and looking through any he passed. Their blood was thin... they were growing small. Pridelanders, he thought. His father had mentioned that even their royalty had been thinned by pride land blood. He'd only ever seen a pridelander from a distance- but even as a cub he hadn't been impressed. Filthy coats, small bodies. Sturdy, but small.
Disgusting. He half wondered if he was insane as Afzal claimed he was for filing into the ranks like this. For taking a degrating position like hunter... then again- the goddess wanted her blood to survive. Infultrating under an innocent guise was a clever idea- but one that Sinbad would go about in his own fashion.
His maw curled back into a smirk as he padded along, his eyes catching sight of the black lioness from earlier. Hard at work. Adorable.
"How goes the scribbles?"

Sinbad
He took a seat next to her and started to pick the bits of his lunch out of his claws. It didn't seem he was overly concerned about manners either. "Well it's not the blood of our prey that normally gets us all riled up." He licked at his paw slowly, his smirk growing slightly, "It's the blood of weaklings and trespassers.... War's in our veins afterall."
He settled his paws down in front of him then leaned his head to the side both to obstruct the lioness' view of her work and to get a glympse himself.
Karana'Mzaana
"Do you mind?" she asked, almost snapping at him, though one could tell she was trying to keep her cool, but she also wanted to laugh too. "You try to be so menacing and strong in others eyes don't you?" she said matter of factly, watching him as he nonchalantly cleaned himself and his claws. Tresspassers, enemies, yes, they did have blood in their veins, but they also had intelligence, and knew how to act and fight. He, on the other hand, was a strange one of the pickings. she watched him try to look at himself, and she smirked, "Oh, now that you are carved in stone to be remembered, you are interested now? Ashame that there is no name to be rememebred with this image," she said with a smirk of her own.
Her slate eyes fell on his form again and she watched him, he baffled her and intrigued her, something there, something he didn't want to show or acknowledge, or something. What was he hiding, or wanting, what was his name? "Would you rather go by No Name forever? It is a strange title," she said with a smile, a smirk, the smirks were growing on her from him, but...this was an interesting game to play.
Sinbad
"Well for one, I don't -try- to be menacing and strong. I -am- menacing and strong." He rolled his shoulders back and tossed his head upwards, meeting her eyes with his narrowed into thin slits, his maw tightened in a smug smirk. "Overwhealming isn't it? Must be your first time seeing a pureblood, a royal to boot. You're taking it well though, good job."
He glanced back down to the carving. Cute. That was the only word to describe it... and he hated cute. "So we -are- becoming Mistweavers. Yesterday's whining slaves are today's role models. Blech."
Karana'Mzaana
"Well, from my angle, your menacing and strong behavior about you seems fleeting, ashame really, and in a 'pureblood,' a royal even? Tsk, tsk, I'd think of anyone that you would know better," at his comment, she narrowed her eyes as well, "It seems like yesterday's pureblood are todays pussycats," she said with anseer. A battle of minds or wits? That or a battle of insults, though she could not tell which. She flicked her tail, and turned to face him, laying down upon the sand she stretched a little, showing she was not afraid by whatever menacing feelings he thought he provoked.
"So tell me, supposed past royal of the sands, shall I know the name or shall your title, remain, No name? Fitting, I might think, for someone who wished to be forgotten like a line in the sand, what do you think?" she asked with a half laugh. She was catching onto his game, he tried to insult to gain leverage, though she could be strong, she just had to grasp and keep hold of this.
Sinbad
"Oh trust me... I'd be more than glad to prove which one of us is the pussycat...But I've already eaten today. Come back tomorrow once the meal's settled a little bit." He lifted one of his paws and flexed it slowly, allowing the claws to slip out then back in again.
"Why's it so important?" He looked back to the wall, "You wanna add more to your pretty picture? Hmm? Is the king gonna give you a hug if you learn everyone's name?"
Karana'Mzaana
Karana laughed outwardy now, shaking her head and closing her eyes, she couldn't stop for a moment, though caught her breath and looked at his square in his dual colored eyes, "Such a menace aren't yu? But for a scuffle you must way until your little snack has settled, oh the fierceness that eminates from your body, it is overwhelming," she said outstretching a paw and pushing at his shoulder. "I can understand, if this transition has been hard, I know of hard transisitional times. But no, the King will not give me a hug, as you put it, to know names is for me. These slates carry the images of the past and present, though no names are enscribed with them, names are for me, for my own reasons," that she of course, did not wish to reveal.
She caught ehr breath, and stared at him, somewhat is disbelief still, "Why are you so hesitant, with things done, even forget the past, what was and what changed, and what happened, why such a distance? Why not jump onto something new, a new experience?" it was an honest question, not threaded with a sly tongue, honesty, she figured he might try it someday.
Sinbad
He flexed his paw again, his teeth grinding. A nosey female... he had half a mind to send the back of his paw sailing into her jaw. That would remind her just why the firekin were feared the way they were... remind of of the old ways. Those that held the power held the authority, the weaklings were simply fodder for the fire.
Sinbad took a deep breath. "Makadari killed his own daughter for betraying him... now we open our boarders to those of filthy, diluted blood. The thinner the blood, the smaller and weaker we become. It won't take long for the outside prides to see that the mighty firekin have become...." He sneered to the tablets and threw a paw down towards them to send them scattering on the ground, "Scholars and criples scribbling on rocks. Pathetic. Disgusting."
Karana'Mzaana
At his words she said nothing, it was true, that the old days within the firekin were brutl, a time of power and royal blood and slaver in their midst. Sometimes she wondered, when thinking back on the stories of the old days, that if she would have been accepted into that pride, or forced into slavery as well, "So I am to assume that those without the true colors, completely, would be slaves?" she was hinting at the fact if she would be a slave in consideration to his rank back then, it was strange, to hink of a time past and lost now. What they had become? They were strong, and the old pride, from what she had learned, would have ended in tragedy, either breeding with their 'slaves' or with close family, inbreeding, the firekin would end completely. It was strange, the battles even now that took course.
However, at his motion, she watched his paw raise, and as it was thrust down, she moved her own paw forward, a shield, to keep his paw from breaking or fracturing hte slab before him, her left paw acted quickly, and as it reached out, she felt a pain go through her shoulder, and she growled painfully at the reaction under his weight of the paw. There was strength, but with her action, their was strength as well, strength in beliefs. She felt a twist, perhaps even a snap and something crackled in the air around them as he crushed her paw beneath his own.
Sinbad
He didn't seem to mind the interception. The wild rage of his bloodline ignited in his mismatched eyes, his lips curled back to exposed his still bloody fangs. As he stood, pressing his weight down onto her smaller paw, his form would seem to loom. Muscle forged from a lifetime of trials and training rippled under bristling fur.
"It's not your coloration that would make you my slave... it's your weakness.... your acceptance of this... pitiful thing that -your- king has turned this once great pride into. We were the lords of the sands, the strongest of them all. Feared and hated beyond our boarders. The whisper of our names sent lesser lions cowering in their dens, their cubs weeping for their mothers. Now... we're a joke. -You- are a joke. Don't dare speak to me in such a manner."
Karana'Mzaana
As he stood more weight fell upon her paw and she felt the pressure on all side, even the sand beneath them would not cushoin her paw, the bone and muscle strained beneath his weight. As as he spoke, and pressed further, she did not look up into his eyes, only heard what he spoke. His slave, his? Because of her weakness? Her blood boiled, jsut as it did the day of the rebellion, just as she fought the larger male lion, just as she fought and her leg became injured. "Your slave-" she said, tongue thick with seriousness, no pain even if a tone of each word.
She looked up at him, slate eyes contacting bitterly with his, and she snarled, "My weakness, a joke? I'll speak how I WISH!" she thrust her jaw forward and it clenched around the forearm that pressed upon her paw, the force of her jaws was enough to pierce his flesh, and taste his own blood. The anger from his words and heart fueled into her, and she would prove she was anything but weak. She never knew her history, knew her family, perahsp her family was part of the old firekin, she never knew. She snarled as she bit and clenched upon him, she would not release until he sacrificed his leverage.
Sinbad
Sinbad made a grunting sound, but if she were to look up, she'd see a dangerous smile replacing the snarl on his face. Though, the new expression would both seem and feel twice as dangerous.
"You feel it now don't you....the rage of being insulted... of having all your hard work, your life being mocked in your face." He flexed his arm, forcing more of his blood to seep from the wound. "The taste of your enemy's blood....sweeter than any in the world. To make them feel your pain!"
Karana'Mzaana
She heard his voice, and tasted his blood. Though she was not in a battle, she knew hte taste of blood, this supposed enemy's blood, and she knew what he spoke, but his vision was clouded in those dual colored eyes. She pulled from him, her paw as she pushed with her other on his forearm, and freed herself, moving herself from his forearm, his blood dripped from her jaw onto the sand before her. If one did not know her, one might think she was enraged, a killer of the past routed here, but no, her anger was routed elsewhere.
"You speak of the taste of an enemy blood, of having your life mocked in your face, yet as you speak you act against your own thoughts. Your vision is clouded, without change the old pride would have died, breeding into your own lines, think of how your blood, even your daughter's blood would be tainted not by other beings not true blood, but by hte blood of the family, then it would be even more diluted, weaker, dangerous in health and mind. To feel the pain of yourself inflicted on another, effective, I give you that, but so is reason, only a true warrior would understand that and accept it..." she spit blood onto the ground, and turned from him. "You speak and do such things, No Name, but I am strong, and I won't let leave what I pursue." As she turned and walked from him, blood still potent in her nose and on her tongue, she sighed as she breathed, she would have his name...

Sinbad: "We would have found a way... lionesses would have proved themselves to us that were of the worthy colors, the worthy size, and the worthy mentality for us." He growled. He wouldn't believe it. He and his family carried something that these... vagabonds could only envy. The taste of his blood was as close to the royal bloodline as this lioness would come. They had endured before... they had come back from just one...his father. This wasn't the end. Just another test.
"Pursue your watered-down values... pursue your idiocy. One day...", He growled at her back, "The fire will burn again...."
