This whole questing thing just isnt working. My original hopes for this guild and for the guild questing idea were that if we had 50 users and they all threw in 2000 gold, that suddenly there'd be 100,000.
But nobody wants to help out. Nobody really wants to join in. We have 41 users. If everyone put in 2000 gold, then we could almost get any item instantly. Including ultra rares. If people put in more, we could get them sooner. But nobody wants to help out. So I suppose today, I came to ask if you all would just like to scrap the guild questing idea. To those of you that've already donated, I'll be more than willing to give you your gold back...but I really had hopped
a. More users would actually post
b. This place would be more active
c. We could be closer knit, like actual pirates. Arr.
But this just isnt working. Please, vote, reply. We need answers.
Or, likewise, if this is the insentive you needed to start guild questing, let us know too. Thanks.
Cheers, heart Dusty
EDIT: I can see from all of your enthusiastic responces that you all want it to stay. So, we'll work out a few of the bugs (I think one thing that'll help is the new rule 4.1) and try again smile

I want it to stay. As soon as my quest is done, I swear I will throw in as much gold as I can. Please don't give up on the idea.

I'd like this place to stay as it is, but more active, of coruse. Maybe if you started a big ole Pirate RP and advertised the guild as a Pirate/Quest guild, you could ensnare more people. "Arrr! A Pirate Story" Ta da! A title! Then have maybe three differnt pirate ships captained by chosen memeber (picked by you and/or your crew (or maybe even by popular vote of members)). People would join under one of the three Captains and then you (or chossen nararator) would make up some events like rumors of barried tresure on -insert island name here- to give the three ships something to compete over. It could be fun. But just an idea.

Gamer Girl Dusty alright well back from hiatus... i can see yall at least enjoy the idea...and since yall are the most active users anyways XD we need to find a way not to get more users but to get our current users active... i do like that pirate RP idea...can you explain a lil more about your idea, Ducky? (I almost just called you "Dusty" XD ) Sure, will do. Hokay, my idea. Step one. NomintationsYou (Dusty), with or without your crew, would take a look at members and pick three that you think would be good RP pirate captains. PM them and confirm that they'd like to be captains. Remember that not everyone wants the sort of responsibility. Step two. ConstructionCaptains chossen, you let them go about constructing their legacy. They'll need a ship and a character. You could make them a tread, or just have them do their stuff extra-Gaia, as in offline. Some research may come in handy here, as to insure that you're making a good ole pirate ship. Step three. RecruitmentWith the captains now choosen and created, everyone else needs to make their characters! You'd make a thread for this including a sample bio for people to base theirs off. People would begin to make their characters but not annouce their alligance to a captain, that comes soon. Step four. RP TIME!Not that everyone is ready to RP, RP! I think it'd be neat to start in a port city's bar/tavern/whorehouse/et cetera, wherever you'd find a bunch of pirates. The three captains would make their way around the town, trying to recruit people into their ranks. People would sign on with captains for a certain amount of treasure hunts/pillaging trips/whatever before going back to the bar town. Step five. 'X Marks the Spot!"The captains and crew need somethings to do! (lol, it rhymed) Dusty, now you'd go and announce that rumors of tresure on some island are spreading aroud and that everyone should go hunting. I'm still working out how the ships would compete, with a safeguard against 'teleporters' and n00bs. Probibly the best way to make sure that all three ships have a fair chance would be keeping close contact with the Captains and arranging convient 'accidents' such as bad-weather or something similar. When people arrive on whatever island, then they'd have to wander around and serch for the tresure, with you or a crew member randomly deciding when or if they find it. Yay! Gold! Now the gold would be split up among the crew if you like the gold tracking idea below, a crew member would update the gold totals for everyone. A new thread for each search/quest/hunt/mission would probibly be a good idea, as with a tavern town pirate bar island hang out thing-a-ma-bob. Other neat ideas-Gold stat-tracking I think it might be cool if we had someone keep track of the amount of gold everyone has stolen. There could be a top ten listing and high ranks might recieve a GaiaGold prize. The only way to get gold credited to you would be by RP-ing enough on each search. Ex. You need to post at least 10 times to be credited gold for a seach. That way, depending on the prize size, stands a chance at keeping people RPing and posting. More posts means higher overal GGN ranking! ((I need to apologize for any random stupid said here along with all of the tense-bouncing, missing works, and spelling mistakes as I'm REALLY tired.))

Ducky, I really do like this idea. It sounds great, and it sounds like if everyone would participate that it would be really successful. The big question is, just how do we get people involved and motivated into wanting to keep going?

Gamer Girl Dusty Ducky, I really do like this idea. It sounds great, and it sounds like if everyone would participate that it would be really successful. The big question is, just how do we get people involved and motivated into wanting to keep going? Hmm... The one question I wasn't prepared to ask... You could try and appeal to RP-ers by saying that you are one of only a handfull of Pirate RP guilds. I know I've alwyse wanted to RP a pirate... on Gaia. (I do that at school enough in real life, lol) I think a fun, slightly comicl, pirate RP could draw a crowd on it's own. No one really wants to join an empty RP, so if we really needed more people, we could 'conscript' out mules into playing small roles, long as we don't post publically who our mules are. I have a mule, you have a mule, and I'm sure nearly everyone else does, too. But I'd consider mule conscription a last resort. I think if we could advertise enough, we could get the RP to be self-sustaining in members. Everyone want's to be a pirate! Arrr!

Would you like to give us a hand on how to start this endevor, such as maybe writing up some rules and deciding on captains pirate
I like this but since you are the originator of the idea, as well as a member of our scurvy crew (EAT MORE FRUIT) I think we should give it a shot. And I'd like you to lead the team biggrin
