i would say redguard but thats just because i like being god in athletics and blade.
whats your take?
what is your best/favorite race?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 12, 2009 12:22 pm

i would have to say breton is my favorite, they have high magical power without having weaknesses to it like high elves, i don't think it's possible that there is a best race since it depends on your play style

yeah i would have to say breton is my second favorite mostly cuz conjuration is so easy to level up, by level 5-10 you could already be a master

I go Imperial, not the type that likes to walk around in cloth. Although I have the PC version, so I usually play as a demon just so i can look cool without looking like a total *****

Dunmer. All the way. I enjoy godmodding at level 13 by throwing fireballs in people's faces then hacking them into tiny bits.

I usually go with Bosmer.

If you level them up right, you can have a good all-around fighter with a Bosmer.

My main character is fast enough to rarely get hit, good enough with light armor to take only a little damage when he does, and good enough at magick to heal himself easily.

He's also decent with destruction and Alteration.

He can pick locks and sneak around/pickpocket with ease.

His blade is insane.

He's the ultimate thief/assassin, honestly.

I also like Nord for Tanking characters, but don't use them if you want to be good at magick >.>

I prefer Altmer the most, They have the highest magicka boost, and are a little better at melee combat than that of a Breton.

As for the weakness to magicka, I usually pick the birthsign of the apprentice when I make a magick user, and then I utilize my enchantments to make up for that weakness, such as having 100 spell absorbtion, or reflection. Using the elemental shield enchantments works great too, since that basically defeats the need of armor and would allow me to keep my running speed and magic efficiency up.

Redguards are probably the best race for an all out melee combater, and then female bosmer are great rogues/archers.

I do tend to use some Argonian characters for the fun of it though, and I like to have a pitch black skinned dark elf.

I'm not into purely magic characters (or, more correctly, I haven't tried it yet because stealth is so fun).

For a fighter, I prefer Nords. I made a Nord once that was basically unkillable unless you came at him with magic, and even then, killing necromancers got him about 100 strong healing potions.

For a stealth character, I like bosmer. You get good stealthiness, you can go with a bow or a blade (or both), and have decent magical aptitude.

If I were to make a character for magic, it might be Dunmer (so I can back the magic with a sword) or a Breton (which would be my choice for a true mage).

But honestly, any race will work great if you work up to its strengths and bring up its weaknesses.
