It had been an interesting week for Tulgey, encountering more and more Soquili wandering into his usual haunts in the gnarly forests blanketing the foothills. It was a dangerous area for soquili, with woods too tight to take flight, hidden obstructions, unstable rocky slopes, and rabbit burrows creating dangerous terrain. Many a leg was broken in the wilds, and Tulgey lived there with a mad glee, familiar with those dangers and knowing how to move carefully through those woods.

However, he found himself wandering from them into more traveled paths, humming a jaunty tune as he flicked his tail up into the air as he hunted for some company. Perhaps it had been an interesting change of pace and he very well wished for more now that he had encountered more. Or, perhaps, he was looking for someone in particular. Either way, he was keeping his eyes open for any other soquili to wander onto his path.

Claude wished with all that he was that Sweet hadn't decided to run into these parts. Not far from here was a frightfull place not even fit for knights like he unless it was absolutley necessary, let alone and Udsia. He sighed and called out, "Sweet! C'mon man, this isn't funny anymore!" He thought for a moment and added under his breath, "not that it was really funy to begin with..." Sweet had things mixed up in his head. There were adventures, in vastly less dangerous areas, and then there were stupid endeavors or charges to rescue, which took place there. He'd tried to hammer that into his skull, but still he insisted that he was as brave as, if not braver than Claude. This was mainly due to his sensitivity about his size, and Claude was thoroughly through with him being a baby about thing he could not change.

"Sweetpea! I'm really not joking around," he called out again. His senses were on high alert as he stepped very deliberatley. He was ready for anything to jump out at him, including Sweet, who he would murder once they were back home.

Ears swiveled around the direction of the cries, eyebrows raising slightly. Seems someone's lost someone. Not too uncommon around here.

However, his curiosity was peaked, as someone was going in as he was walking out. Leaning in the direction a little, he turned, still avoiding the usual paths that most Soquili would follow to instead travel by stepping through the densest of the forest, walking quietly as possible as he approached the other traveler.

Finally, The Green haired Soquili poked his muzzle through some bushes, his wide grin and bright eyes all that was visible at first, "Lose something? Or, I should say, someone."

Easing through the branches to reveal himself, he cocked his head to the side, "Or are you actually expecting someone's garden to cry 'I'm Here!' so you can come and gobble it away? Since if thats the case, I could show you where some grows, though they happen to be toxic so I don't think eating them would be a good idea."

Claude turned halfway towards the frightful looking Soquili. It wasn't in him to judge by apperences, but somehow that smile set him off a little. The commentary from the stallion didn't help at all either. He chose his words carefully. "He's not far from me. I'm only a few second behind, and I rather not lose anymore time. If you'll excuse me," he bowed his head gently and turned to leave. Normally such comments wouldn't faze him. But this was not his forest, nor was it his moutain. He had no knowlege of the terrain, and even less knowlege of the life in these parts. And then the thought of Sweet gnawing on poisonous grasses to sedate his monstrous appatite only made him chafe more at the delay. He thought for a moment about flying away, but as he looked over head he noticed that the trees were far too close together, and he'd risk serisou injury. Yes, Sweet would pay for the position he was placed in.

"Then Perhaps-" Tulgey proceeded to follow Claude a little bit, "I could be of assistance. I've lived in these woods since I was a young colt and know the dangers. And I happen to be looking for someone myself, who usually arrives in this part of the forest about this time every other month. Perhaps we can find them together."

Flicking his tail, he sidled up beside the wind Soquili, eyebrows high as he chuckled softly, "Besides, it'd be easier to find your missing companion with a native's Eye. I know the tracks of the animals here quite well, and know the sudden drops and secret paths that most ignore deeper in in lue for the this old, worn down game trail that is no longer safe to travel on. Ears and nose familiar with what is usual, and able to pick out the foreign inhabitants quite easily. You're heavy, slightly slipping footfall, for example-"

He grinned, continuing his light, dance-like steps, "Show you're not used to traveling these dangerous lands, and are the footfalls of soquili that often find themselves trapped with snapped limbs in rabbit warren or struggling in the white rapids of rain flooded ravine. Which is what this path leads to, by the way. There used to be a way to cross, and now the path is covered in brushes taking the bit of sunlight to flourish. Not much one can do about those that fall into it, either. The sides are steep and crumble..."

"But never mind my rambling.." his ears swiveled, "Would your friend happen to be an Usida?"

"Do as you wish, good sir, for my only need is to find my brother and be out of your forest," he said with a respectful bow of his head before he turned around. Due to the low hanging branches and snug fits, his wings were as close to his sides as he could get them, and even then his featheres were snagged and pulled at. he even lost a few. Easily surpressing grunts of discomfort he pressed on through the trees, having to rear up and knock away a few obstacles. "However, you are correct sir, it would be easier, and I thank you for your assistence," however unwelcome it may be, he thought to himself. It was true. Sweet was a little thing, and naturally colored, so someone who knew the terrain would be an asset. Granted, he wasn't happy with the allusion at his clumsiness about the new terrain, but he let it go.

He forced images of an injured Sweet from his mind. Broken legs, bones protruding from flesh, skin bloddies and caked with mud, his broken, lifeless body laying uselessly at the bottom of a ravine... he forced his body not to act out of line. He wanted nothing more than to pick up the pace. Newly unearthed worried made him chafe at any delay. He turned his head towards the stallion and said, "I'm sure he'll take care of himsel very well. We live on the mountains, and that's made us both quite agile," he said, dancing around the topic of his brother's breed carefully.

Moving to the right a little, the Green haired Soquili easily sidestepped the worst of the brambles and came through unscathed up ahead of Claude,, "I guess you're friend isn't a Usida then? Though, I suppose those hoof beats I heard could very well be that of a light footed colt in the other direction."

He slid through the tree's with practiced ease as the brambles lessened in the shadows of the branches, "Do you always push through bramble bushes rather then travel through the honeysuckle vines, or is this a new behavior for you? And you may wish to stop -- there's a rabbit warren just a few feet ahead of you. Could be unfortunate for your friend if your own legs snapped on your way to collect him."

He grinned, chuckling in amusement over the red Knight stubbornly working his way through his woods, "May I suggest you simply tell me where exactly you wish to go? I can't be much help if I am simply prowling in the same general direction as you."

Claude refused to let his head snap in the direction Tulgey mentioned. He kept his head focused before him and grumbled, "How can I trust you, anyway? Who's to say you aren't just trying to lead me to certain death?" Claude grimaced as a bramble caught his leg and made it bleed. he cursed under his breath and fell behind Tulgey who seemed to know more comfortable paths than he. "How can you live here when you can't hardly see three feet in front of your nose," he asked irately as he shoved aside a vine that fell before his face away. "Truth be told I don't really know where that stupid stallion headed, so... fine... where did you say you heard hoof beats?" Claude wasn't an idiot, he knew when he needed help. He just wasn't very fond of asking for it from those who seemed to taunt him.

Tulgey chuckled, ears flicking up, "I live here because this is where I lost my sanity -- have you seen it?" he winked at the scarlet stallion as if it was a joke, slinking by the stallion to swoop back into woods "I've been here since my youth... You learn the ways of the wood, learn how it lives, it breaths.. I cant understand how the rest of you can live for long in the open.. With little to show the signs of danger.. come along, he's this way.."

He flicked his tail, rattling some bushes so the knight could see where he was going, his dappled coat surprisingly good at blending into the woods, making him vanish against the patchy blotches of creamy sunlight on dark red leaves, the green of his hair matching the green of the woods, making it seem almost as if he shifted in and out of reality.
