This RP is a time skip back to before, when Allein was still pregnant. Word Count: 1378 The cool mountain air passed overhead in a breeze, as the sun began to rise somewhere beyond those mountains. Walking in those shadows was a light gray male, trudging along against the wind. His thoughts were focused on one goal-- to find her. She was a wanderer, and he had his territory. But she had left as quietly as she came, and he was determined to find out why. His thoughts drifted to that night-- all those nights they had spent together-- and hoped that it meant anything to her as it did to him.

Allein roused from her sleep. 'Another morning,' she thought. She slowly rose to her feet; a task that took longer now. Her new makeshift home kept her warm; even though she was certain that it was freezing outside, she walked to that entrance. The cave was big, dark, and empty and she liked it that way. It cut her down enough that she had to settle down, but at least she could enjoy where she was.

Bryce stopped once he reached a dead crooked tree. That marked the end of where his small territory was; now he knew for certain that she was outside it. Not that it mattered much-- he just wanted to find her again; to talk to her again. 'Why do females always have to be so difficult?' he wondered. Not that she was an ordinary female. There was something different about her that he admired.
A large shadow passed over his head, reminding him that he should keep going. He had all day, but he didn't want to find her in the dead of night when he might frighten her.

'I'm gonna end up here forever, aren't I?' she chucked too herself; she didn't know why she had convinced herself to stay with Bryce, but it was all so inviting. Perhaps she wanted a taste of life outside of her own. She had never known a settled life- as far as Allein knew her brother and she had no father, and her mother had left. They didn't know what had happened; she just left one day like she usually did to hunt or scavenge for food, and she didn't come back. They waited for days, until their own hunger wouldn't allow anymore waiting.
Looking up into the sky, Allein spotted a large Avian, mottled with brown feathers. She knew that she didn't have the strength to hunt, and this was an easy meal. The bird circled several times before landing near the outside of her cave.

'Now where?' Bryce hadn't left this area in ages, and now he had to aimlessly follow some path in hopeless hopes of finding anyone. His best bet was to follow that shadow, which he guessed was a bird. He didn't know of any other flying beasts, after all.
The trail was narrow, a surrounded by a shallow crevice on one side. 'At least I won't fall to my death...' It took him a while, but he finally spotted the shadow-bearer. It had landed in a clearing a little whiles away from him in a more distant part of the path. Bryce quickened up his pace and began to dart down the trail.

Allein crept forwards, keeping her eyes on the bird while carefully placing her feet. The bird hadn't noticed her yet, so she continued until she was in a position to strike. She leaped forwards, now taking notice of her additional weight even more, and landed on it in one heap. She noticed the sound of fast-approaching feet and looked to her side, only to see him, the one she thought she would never see again.

Bryce came to a stop. The bird, his guide, was now a mess of blood and feathers, and then he saw what it's attacker was. Allein...Allein... "Allein?"
His finding her was almost enough to shock him into forgetting his goal of coming in the first place. He thought that he would have to search forever.. and still never see her again. He wanted to ask her-- to have her explain everything-- but he didn't know where to begin.

Allein's eyes widened in recognition. She knew that she couldn't really escape, and now she had this as proof of that truth. She had to leave because she-- Allein sighed, "You again?" she chuckled in her joke, "I never expected to see you here." She mentally slapped herself. She couldn't deny the fact that she wouldn't let herself settle further away.
She pushed the bird away, towards her cave. It was dead; the amount of blood loss already was a sure sign. Then she sat down, bending her hind legs but keeping her front straight.

"Allein...I..." he stuttered. He hadn't expected to get this far. Bryce looked at the ground before taking a step towards her. When she sat down he continued to move towards her stopping in front of her. All he could do was look into her eyes through her thick mane.

Allein felt a rush of surprise when he moved closer, but it didn't contain fear. "I'm sorry...." she muttered, and she moved her head to touch his shoulder with it. She curled her tail around her front feet. "I....I just had to leave," she felt embarrassed, but couldn't bring her self to regret that time.

Bryce could only find the words for one question, "Why?" He lowered his head next to hers and breathed in her scent.. a scent he had begun to miss. There was a different air about it, though; something... different that he couldn't figure out.

Allein thought for a slight moment. Maybe it wasn't as obvious to him as it was to her. After all, she had known not too long after, but that was probably a female's senses.
She rose to her feet, briefly nudging Bryce's head away, and showed herself to him. It would happen soon, she was sure of that. Allein was just glad that she had found this place, as makeshift as it was.

Bryce watched her carefully, wondering what she was doing. Then he saw. "Hm..." he stepped back, "Oh!" He felt himself begin to panic. He understood now... sort of.. "It's mine, isn't it?" he was pretty sure he knew the answer. The timing was right, after all. "But," he cautiously asked this one, "why did you leave?"

Allein nodded. She hardly knew any other males, let alone met with any enough for this. Her lack of a father figure and the disappearance of her brother led her to almost avoid them.
"I just couldn't stay. Once I found out I..." she paused, "I just had to go... to think about things." By the time she had her own mind settled she was here. She couldn't bring herself physically or mentally to return.

"You could have told me..." he answered. He was still slightly in shock. He had never expected to become a father; he had always seemed so...old. "Do you know what you are going to do yet?" he suggested. This was partly his fault. After all, he was the one who took her in for those days. He felt like there was something that he needed to do to help.
