Baby blue eyes scanned the forest floor, a look of deep contemplation on the face of the young dragon. Wind ruffled his brown mane, tossing that single lock of green into his eyes, obstructing is vision for no more than a moment. Shaking his head, he threw the lock out of his eyes, tail waving low to the ground as he trekked on, exploring his 'father's' so-called 'kingdom'. But he knew better than he let on; and rightly so. How on earth could he be related to that big blue lug when every spot on his coat seemed remniscent of Ithnan, the 'king's servant'. Well, everything minus the rainbows. Because he needed to be more girlie that his father, of course.
Which brought us to the reason that the child was all alone, a good mile or more away from his home. Ithnan had only recently told him the story of 'the birds and the bees', as it were. At least, the simplified, more child-friendly version. He'd made no more gesture about leaving than a simple nod of the head, and here he was, all by his lonesome, contemplating things that he was sure weren't normally thought about by dragons his age, or dragons at all.
Naiosalas grumbled softly to himself, a noise that seemed more a sigh than anything, digging his claws into the ground and glaring at a small bird that seemed to be minding its own business as it hopped across the forest floor. Without a single warning movement, the gender-confused young dragon jumped at the bird, and it took off immediately, leaving the little one to stare up after it, eyes wistful. He'd just entered into this world, and already it didn't make any sense...

Pembe was by himself for the first time and he wasn't sure if he liked it. He was so used to being with his mom, dad or even his brother so he wasn't sure what to think. Sighing, Pembe walked slowly through the woods, with no real destination in mind.
Apparently he really should have been paying attention to were he was going because pretty soon he was falling over another dragon that had been standing still. Trying to stand up and get off the other male at the same time, "Sorry, sorry, I wasn't paying attention. So sorry!"

Maybe he shouldn't have been thinking so hard.
In the middle of all his wondering, he -she?- was run right smack into by another male dragon, thankfully around his same size. Squealing in surprise, the noise itself a surprise coming from the ever-quiet little child, he tumbled slightly, blue eyes clamping themselves shut hard. Scrambling slightly, he managed to flip himself right-side-up again and get out from beneath the other boy, turning around with widespread legs to stare at the other, blinking with wide eyes.
At the apologies that reminded him a bit of his father, he shook his head, giving a smile in replace of anything that he would need to say aloud in forgiveness. He dug his little rainbowed claws into the soil, tipping his head curiously toward the other boy, looking him up and down with crystal blue eyes. The other... for a second, he had to double-take the thought of the other being a boy but, no, he was, in fact, male. He just had a rather girlish colouration, much as Naio, himself, had.
Of course, the full-pink and the rainbows kinda gave him the cake, didn't they? He bowed toward the other, as his father had taught him, before standing taller, more proud, as his 'father' had taught him, given he was supposed to rule something sometime in his life, and should act superior or whatever. These awkward patterns of raising had turned Naiosalas into a walking contradiction.
