"Kilah, me and Violet did what you said and we didn't find anything!" Karoko complained. Since Noyama, Pukio, and all who came with them had moved in Karoko had become use to her cousin. More importantly, her cousins temper and attitude.

"Well, keep looking," Kilah demanded as she lowered her headphones. "You wanna find that treasure don't you?"

"Tweasure!" Violet chirped, and Karoko nodded.

"Good," the Sin'aeis said sourly. "Now go back and keep digging up the entire garden. Remember, if anyone asks what you're doing it's just because you hate flowers. Don't want anyone to hog all the goodies and keep them from Noharu do, you?"

The Eden eyed her intently then sighed, nodding and leading the wobbling baby away.

"Stupid kids," Kilah chuckled. Currently, she sat just a few feet from the mansions door. Gizmo beside her, naturally. pulling her headphones back up to her ears and blasting the volume high as possible.

It was amazing she wasn't deaf as well.

Well, Moo was back. Hoorah.

Jaxom snarled, with a flick of his wrist whipping out his belt knife and burying it in a nearby tree. This was exactly how he wanted to spend his afternoon, aye: hunting down Lyrus and Banda and dragging them back to the House. Sure, Banda was nice enough, but while he was gone, lamb boy was gone, and that was surely a blessing.

Now why couldn't Moo see things that way?

However, there were some benefits to her return, he mused. The dragon egg nestled on the beanbag in his bedroom, for example. Somewhat cheered, he tugged the knife free and replaced it in his belt. Maybe his future dragon would eat Lyrus.

Voices nearby caught his attention, and, quirking a brow, he continued towards the mansion, smirking faintly when he recognized Akilah. Well well, what a surprise.

And the smirk was gone, a cheery grin replacing it. Pure innocence. "Kilah! Haven't seen you in a while."

Volume. Not. Loud. Enough.

The girl reached for the CD player beside her and hopelessly attempted to scroll the volume higher, but no go. She grunted, but it was obviously more of a 'go ******** yourself' kind of sound than a greeting.

When he didn't take the hint she sang with the tune blaring from the headphones. Only...she edited the words a bit.

"Piss off, Jaxom~
I don't like you~
This place is for Sin anyway~
So ******** off and go away~"

Ahhh, music. No better way to get the point across.

How amusing. Jaxom quirked a brow, applauding lazily in response to her song. "Beautifully done, my dear. I didn't know you could sing."

Chuckling softly to himself, he dropped down to sit on the ground before her. "I'd gladly leave if I could. Moo's finally come back to her senses and sent me to find Lyrus. So here I am." He spread his arms slightly despite the fact that she couldn't see, but they soon fell back to his sides.

Yawning lazily, he briefly turned to watch the two younger girls tearing up the garden a short distance away. But he soon lost interest, gaze shifting back to Kilah. "You wouldn't happen to know where Banda lives, would you?"

"I guess when fate makes you blind, rips your eyes out, then burns your house down and forces you to live with someone who tried to drown you it assumes a good singing voice makes up for it." Her tone was so flat it was hard to tell if she was joking, being sarcastic, or honestly pissed about it.

"You know," Kilah said, taking the headphones off carelessly and tossing them to the side. "I wish I did, just so I could refuse to tell you." Ah, Kilah. The most lovely ray of sunshine. Despite her words, she wasn't threatening to stab him or yelling. That was good, right? "You should leave Lyrus alone. He's happy where he is."

"A fair trade, some would say." Had Jaxom been a singer, he might have elaborated. As it was, he preferred having sight to a fine singing voice. But wisdom was wisdom, and it might help someone somewhere? Probably not Kilah, but someone.

"Good to know I can always count on you for help." He smiled, only a hint of sarcasm in his voice. Jaxom laughed. "If I had my way, I'd never set eyes on Lyrus again." An eye jab and an honest statement in the same phrase. Good stuff. "He's happy there, I'm happy with him gone, it's best this way. But Moo seems to think otherwise and wants him back under her guardianship. Banda's too accident prone."

Accident prone? Like hell. The only thing bad she could think of is the headphone bit, but that was Noharu's fault. Didn't Noya like that Banda guy? And she made them live the one who caused him to be deaf again! Ha! Dumbass.

"Well, I got my own problems pal, and don't much care about yours." Like that stupid boy coming near her sister. A love interest for her only elder and least bitchy sibling would not be tolerated. Kilah stretched her arms up, then tucked them behind her head. "By the way, making blind cracks like that just proves what an a*****e you are," she added as an after thought.

"Mm." He nodded absently in agreement. It had been pretty shitty of him, hadn't it? Oh well. "You'd think you'd be used to them by now," he drawled, more to himself than to Kilah.

Snapping back to the present, he tilted his head to the sidem quirking a brow. "Why do you hate me, Kilah? Not still mad about the whole..." The whole what, exactly? Jaxom honestly couldn't remember. It must not have been that big a deal, then. Therefore, she shouldn't be mad.

The Sin'aeis was silent for a minute, a blank look on her face. Those weren't so hard to pull off when you didn't have eyes, though. "Mm," she echoed eventually, and for a few more minutes said nothing else. Finally, she shrugged, turning her head the other way. You'd have thought she was trying to ignore him if she hadn't spoke again. "I...don't know."

Jaxom could be patient and, whather she was ignoring him or not, if he waited long enough, she would say something. If only to tell him to ******** off again. Her reply, when it came, didn't even surprise him. If he, with his life as dull as it was, had better things to worry about than a stupid arguement, Kilah surely did. He smiled. "So why lash out without cause? We were friends once...sort of. I don't see why we couldn't be again."

Why? Why not? Kilah didn't like teenage Jaxom. She didn't like him at all. He was acting like a pansy, almost, or so she thought. For one, Lyrus didn't like him and she was friends with Lyrus, but she didn't bother pointing it out.

It took her about half a second to decide he was up to something. A suspicious girl, Kilah, but not all the blame could be placed on her. Trusting people hadn't done her much good this far in life. Either way, she felt suspicious.

"Yeah," Kilah agreed slowly, her feelings reflecting in her tone, if only a little. "I'm still not telling you anything if I find out."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 29, 2005 11:27 pm

"Well that's your choice." Sitting back somewhat, he shrugged, smile growing to a faint grin, though he kept his voice the same. "You don't have to tell me, and I, for one, don't want to know. Let Lyrus stay away. If Moo wants him back, she can hurt him down herself."

Yawning, he held out a hand, and in an instant Calt had appeared from between and dropped a package into his palm. His task accomplished, the blue flit glided up to his bond's shoulder and settled comfortably on the guard there. Mentally praising the flit, Jaxom split the package in two, tossing one half to Kilah's side and keeping the other for himself. "I got you a belt knife when Moo took me to get my dragon egg. Handy little weapon, easier to manipulate than those daggers of yours."

And sure enough, the knife was in the package beside her. His half, however, contained a packet of crackers. Cheap snack, whoohoo. Opening it, he handed one up to Calt, then took one for himself and held the packet towards Kilah. "Cracker?"

"How nice of you." But again, she was suspicious. As always, she and Gizmo had that unspoken mind link type thing going on. That, or he was suspicious as well. The griff was often so quiet it was easy to forget he was there. Once up on all fours, he sniffed at the package, pawing at it lightly. Confirming it at least wasn't anything poisonous, he nudged it toward Kilah.

"Wark."

"Got it." With the offering, she held her hand up and shook her head. "Favorite food, actually, but no. Give it to Gizmo if you're so chartiable. And I only carry one dagger around, for your information. It's special."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 29, 2005 11:53 pm

Jaxom watched, amused, as the griff carefully inspected his gift, and grinned all the more when Calt voiced his thoughts--a brassy trill that could have easily passed for a laugh. Silencing him with a wave, Jaxom popped the cracker into his mouth and offered the packet to Gizmo, quirking a brow. Swallowing, and without waiting for a reaction, he replied, "If you say so. And you don't have to carry it around. It's just a gift. You like knives and such, so there you go."

"Wark." In a polite way, Gizmo shook his head and returned to Kilah's side.

"Just what is it you want?" Kilah asked bluntly, raising an eyebrow. People had just bought her stuff for no reason before--in fact, that new Sin'aeis baby had and they'd never even met. Freak. Anyway, Jax was different. They might not be arguing, but since when were they 'friends'? "Are you just being nice for when I'm as old as you are? Lucky told me all you older ones think of is making babies but not paying for them."
