Night, peaceful, calm, relaxing. The stars are shining brightly in the sky as the serenity of night continues. The forest is silent besides a few animals that challenge the night. All is calm until there are shouts, and many quick foot falls in the forest. A black robed figure is being pursued by many men covered in metal armor with their swords drawn. The figure dodges branches, and bushes as they come into view. The pursuers quickly lose sight of the figure as it almost seems to vanish from sight. The men search the area, and are unable to find anything before quickly leaving the forest, and heading back to town.

The forest was silent a brief moment before a twig snap could be heard, before a thud. A few groans are heard as a black mass starts to move. Some silver could be seen on the figure in the moons light. It was a double edged curved sword, attached to its side. Standing up a males voice can be heard. "I hate trees..." The voice said as he moved forward surrounded by forest.

Hours pass as he keeps walking. The sun could be just barely visible on the horizon. Sighing a sigh of relief, the figure pulls the hood of the robe over his face more to block out the sun. Entering a large empty field a females voice is heard.

"I know what you are, and why they the chase you..."

The figure stops in alarm. Quickly turning, he sees no one, yet he hears the voice again...

"I know what you are, and why they chase you..."

Placing a scaly hand on the hilt of the sword, he turns around again. "Who's there!? Show your self!" He demands, but the only answer he got was a gust of wind pushing the hood off from over his face revealing him. Blue scales cover his face, his eyes are green slits, almost cat like. Long blond, cleanly braided hair flow down to his shoulders. "Who's there!" He demands again as he turned, only to be faced with himself.

"They fear you! They hate you! They want to kill you, because they do not understand!"

"Shut up!" He screams out as he slashed at his own image only to see it smoke away, and re-appear in front of him before slashing at it a few more times, only to see the same result. "What do you want!"

"I want nothing... But it's what they want." The females voice was almost mocking him as it continues. "They want to kill you to prevent you from finding out who you really are. They want to stop you before you can prevent them from completing their goal!"

A snarl can be heard from the figure, as he realized fighting was useless. Still gripping the sword, he spoke. "What are you talking about! Who I really am? What their goal is? Who ARE YOU!" He shouted, but the calms voice still spoke to him, in its usual calm way.

"That you will have to find out on your own. You may very well be the only one to save us..." The voice trailed off.

Before he could even open his mouth to speak, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head before falling to the ground. Struggling to stay conscious he heard nothing but the chirping of birds before all went black.

Waking up, he reflexively gripped his sword, and swirled around. Nothing was around him as he watched. It felt as if years had passed. Maybe even centuries to him. The day was late, and his stomach growled from hunger. Shaking his head, he sheathed his sword, and placed the hood over his head again. Shivering from cold, he looked about. "Early spring... But it was late fall..." He shook his head confusedly. "What happened, and where am I?" Asking aloud, as if expecting a response he did not receive one.

After wandering around for a few minutes in the empty field, he decided to sit down on a large dry rock, and try to get his thoughts together, starting with the last thing he had remembered. The words "You may very well be the only one able to save us..." Kept repeating in his head, as he sat there, and thought about what was happening.

~For those wanting to know what a Dragon-Kin is.~

Dragon-kin is a race that I have made up specifically for this role play. They are a very long lived humanoid dragon(Oldest recorded is 4,765 years old). They talk, eat, and play just like a human. They stand at am impressive 7'6" tall on average when they reach adulthood. Even though they are long lived, they physically, and mentally age slower than humans. They physically stop aging at the age of 1,000, and look as if they are age 24.

A few of them think themselves better than humans, and even elves. This caused an issue between the races, and they started to drive back the Dragon-kin from the human's and elves homeland. Most of the Dragon-kin minded their own business, and went back to their own home, while a few stayed out, and continued to cause issues. Using their magic, they made humans fear them. This lead the the slaughter of thousands of the Dragon-kin. Now all the races are trying to find the rest of them, and kill them all before they can fight back, but with the Dragon-kin able to use magic, they are able to blend right in with the people. But those are the ones who do not wish harm upon anyone. The ones that are sighted, are killed on sight, or taken down into a prison, for just being of this race.

But, due to his memory loss (And being knocked out for a few years, maybe centuries.), he(My character. Can't even remember his own name.) does not know what is going on, who he is, or any of this. And were he is, news has yet to reach the people living there, that the Dragon-kin is an "evil" race and must be killed.

That is the long story in a shortened version. If you want to know more, send me a PM, and I will send you the rest of it.

Accepted Characters:

Quote:

Gaia Name: Varnis54

Character Name: Stragon: Temporary name. (Does not know his name.)

Race: Dragon-Kin

Height: 5'6"

Age: Unknown, although the color of his scales shows that he is around the ages of 500-700, just a teenager. (Adulthood around age 1,000) Looks to be around age 17.

Gender: Male

Appearance: Standing at 5'6", he is short for his races standard, who usually tower and impressive 7'9" average. His light blue dragon-like scales cover his body from head to toe. His dirty-blond hair is short, but is very thick. Dark green eyes slitted like a cats, the feature that is the most unlike any humans on his face. His nose and lips are that of an average person, but his tongue is split like a snake's. His hands are that of a human's, except for the scales, and his has a three foot long tail.

Personality: Easily upset due to him not knowing where he is, or even what time he is in. He will almost constantly be reading a book, even when some one is talking to him.

History: Not knowing from where he is from, or anything about his history, he is uncertain of what, or who he even is. He can not recal who is parents are, or where he is from. All he can remember is that "dream" that he had before waking up in an empty field. The one thing he remembers the most are the words: "You may very well be the only one able to save us."

Extra: Being of a Dragon-Kin, the only one that is known to existence, he has no one he can relate to, and is confused about who he is, and where he is. Due to his dragon like scales, he is well protected against swords. As well as due to being a Dragon-kin, he has abilities that he does not know about. One ability he does know, is that ability to change how he looks, and hide the scaled, making him look more human, except for the tail. He is very proficient with the sword that he carries, and is the only other self defense he has besides his scales.

an O L I V E masterpiece
Gaia Name: an O L I V E masterpiece

Character Name: Lonta Li Notre

Race: Elf

Height: 5'7"

Age: 126 , looks about 20.

Gender: Female

Appearance: Lonta is 5'7", average for females of her race. Her skin tone is very pale, looking as if she has never seen the sun. Eyes of bright green, they can see anything within an arrow's distance with striking clarity. Thin and athletic, Lonta is a skilled ranger, using her bow and sword as an extension of her arms. Lonta's long white hair reaches to her naval and flows like a river. She is very pretty, though her delicate features hide a monster within.

Personality: Lonta is extremely hot-headed and is likely to go off on anyone that dares to cross her path. She was abandoned by her birth parents at a very young age and is spiteful and untrusting to anyone because of it. Her dry sense of humor goes over poorly with most, but when she finds a good and true friend, she'll keep them.

History: Lonta was abandoned by her parents at age 4, for reasons unknown. She raised herself within the forests of this world, learning to scavage and hunt very young in order to survive. After many years of being alone, she found a hunter named Cavre half-dead within her forest. She nursed him back to health and came to love him. Cavre, however, had intentions of his own. He professed false love to her and drug her into the human village not too far from her home. Lonta was extremely hesitant but trusted Cavre nonetheless. He betrayed her, trying to sell her into slavery. In a mad struggle, she managed to escape and kill Cavre, and it shattered her heart. From that day forward, she vowed never to help a human for any reason and would forever live in her forest, alone.

Extra: Lonta does not know any other elves. She can speak with mammals and is much stronger than any human she has ever fought.

Crucio 120mm

Gaia Name: Crucio 120mm

Character Name: Valrak Battlehilt

Race: Duergar (Grey Dwarf)

Height: 4'9"

Age: 81

Gender: Male

Appearance: Valrak is tall, for a dwarf, and rarely takes his armor off. Most of his armor is bright red and dull yellow, made of dragon scales. His skin is dark grey and hair is white.

Personality: Un-trusting, yet curious, he loves adventure and battle, and often tries to challenge people's abilities, beliefs, and sometimes laws.

History: Valrak's people live deeper underground than most would imagine there existing life, in a maze-like world of caverns and tunnels, where everything's out to kill everything else, but occasionally they emerge to trade with the races of the surface world. It just so happened that the caravan Valrak was in was ambushed. He managed to escape the attackers, but lost his way back. Valrak spent the next few months trying to find shelter among the surface races, but each time was turned away or attacked, for his race comes from a world full of evil, and are barely trusted enough to trade. Finally, he decided to gain trust by doing what he knew best, going out and slaying creatures that have proven themselves as evil and threatened nearby towns. He found he enjoyed it; that was three, or so, years ago.

Extra: Over the years, Valrak has collected many magical items, even joining groups to slay two dragons to get armor. All together the items give him fire, lightning, and poison immunity, and a light resistance to magic and missile weapons, a constant blurriness that helps him hide his true race from those he meets, but also makes them distrust him because of the constant use of the magic, and the small wounds that he receives heal quickly. His three hammers also have special attributes: Vorc Falarn, his favorite, has a lightning enchantment and gives him the strength of a giant when it's wielded, the Dwarven Thrower, which passes through target after damage is done and boomerangs back to thrower, and the third hammer, which just stings more than a normal hammer.

The only future for Serenity in her home village was to marry one of the local boys and start her own family there. She wanted more. With her family's blessing she chose to leave home. Standing up the figure sighs after being lost in thought after a long time. Drawing his hood back over his face, he headed off towards the forest that surrounded the field. Reaching the forest, he placed a hand on a tree, and stared for a moment. "Hello? Anyone out there?" All this silence bothered him, and hopped that some one would answer before he entered the forest.

The dwarf threw the crumpled paper at a tree, grumbling rather loudly to himself. Something about an ungrateful twit who gave him the useless map. The map had so little detail, it might as well had been a letter that said: To find civilization, Stay on road. Nonetheless, he figured he was no more than two days travel from the next town, whatever it was called; he had already forgotten. The dwarf continued down the road.

Hmm... Lonta thought to herself, ripping through the thin skin of the small mammal. Her small boning knife slit easily through the meat. Her diligent hands gathered the meat and put it into the small bag for preparation later. After a few more minutes, she wiped the small blade of the knife in the grass and stood, her beautiful hair wiping through the crisp air. The blade slid back into it's home on her hip as she took the first step towards the way home.

Hearing no responses he slowly stepped into forest almost fearing as if something would attack him. Something about this place, where he was or when he even was, just bothered him. Jumping at most shadows, and every time a wig snapped, his hand went straight to his sword. Seeing a pathway in the forest, he ran towards it and stopped right at the entrance to it.

The small pathway lead to the main road, but it also branched off heading deeper into the forest. Staring down the pathway, he watched, and waited before he noticed something in the corner of his eye move. Turning, he thought he saw a human, but there was something different. "An elf?..." He said silently, as he started to follow her at a distance.

Serenity ran as fast as her legs would bear her. She grabbed an arrow from her quiver and, shacking, strung her bow. She was afraid to look back, least she fall and her death be certain. When she was prepared she looked back to the quickly approaching beast that pursued her, fangs glistening in the sunlight that pierced through the tree branches.

She shot at the wolf, but miserably she missed. "Oh no," she screamed as the wolf leapt towards her. She put her bow between herself and the beast. It's massive paws pressed against the bow, trying to force it down. He snapped his muzzle just inches from her face. "Help! Please, someone, help!" Serenity could feel the strength draining from her adrenaline charged muscles. She wouldn't back able to keep the wolf from devouring her much longer.

After walking for several hours, Valrak began entertaining himself by flipping one of his hammers into the air and catching it. That is, until he heard a scream for help. Good start? was the thought that he had as he rushed into the woods.

His hammer flew struck the wolf off the girl, but the blow wasn't fatal. The hammer curved through the air and was caught by the blurry dwarf as he charged forward. He attached the hammer to his belt and swung another off his back, one that had bits of electricity arcing across its surface. He skid to halt by the girl, raised his Dragon Shield, and awaited the wolf's next move.

Someone is near Lonta thought to herself, acting as casual as she could muster. She continued walking towards her "home" for a few minutes, then jagged suddenly to the left as if that is what she had intended all along. After a few minutes of brisk walking, she went to the right this time, turning into a full sprint. It has to be close... Whipping herself quickly and silently behind a tree just inside of the clearing, she drew her sword halfway from the sheath. This intruder would not soon come back to her woods if she had her way.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 12, 2009 5:30 pm

Following her, and not paying much attention of where he was, he continued. Her movements seemed a bit odd, of how she suddenly turned, but thought nothing of it. Going into a run as she had done so, he just fully realized how his legs hurt from all the running before. Loosing sight of her, he sighed as he slowed into walking speed. "Only person I see here, and they vanish..." Shaking his head, he continued towards the area where she had seemed to of vanished.

With the wolf distracted Serenity took her dagger from her side and with all her strength drove it into the beast's side. It howled as it fell over, she was sure that it was not yet dead. For the moment it was incompasitated, so she tore out her knife and held it away from her as she ran to her rescuer.

"Thank you!" she said breathlessly. "Let us leave before the beast regains his strength."
