Lucian and Rion - Skie
Rhiloss - Manda

Lucian and Rion had promptly slipped out of the house when they’d decided to investigate the murder further. Neither boy really knew why it was so important to have supervision but it was kind of hard to travel alone when your twin was always there to watch your back, right?

As it was, the streets were oddly empty now…. Maybe that murder had scared the people off? Or maybe it was the rain? The festival seemed to have worked and now it was pouring – a good drenching of warm spring rain. Good thing they’d brought the umbrella and were huddled beneath that as they looked first one way then another and crossed the street in search of a soul to ‘cheer up’; their pockets were full of the candies and vials of perfume and trinkets they’d pilfered from the festival.

Rhiloss had also slipped out of the house, though he had permission to go to the park. Why he would want to play in the rain, Ka hadn't known but he had made sure the boy wore a rain jacket and was honestly glad to have him out from underfoot for a little while. So the icy Scent was wandering along and splashing into and out of puddles in a bored sort of fashion. He didn't really like this weather. The cold was better. Ugh.

Finally! Spotting a person, Lucian and Rion headed towards the other, their umbrella bobbing continuously as the pair moved along. When they came into earshot, Lucian waved his hand and tilted their shelter up so that the other boy could see their faces, "Hello! You look glum."

Rion nodded his agreement and they stepped closer as he rummaged in his pockets, pulling out random things. A jawbreaker, a vial of minty perfume, and a linty sucker.... he frowned for a moment then shrugged. Good enough, they'd start here, "Sad about the murder? Have some of these~ They're free." He closed his fist around the items, however, "But~ You gotta tell us information first. Know anything about the death at the fair?"

Rhiloss raised his head and blinked at the two of them, frowning. He'd seen them before... for a few minutes anyway ... at the festival. That first day. But why were they out here now? Rhiloss had been hoping he could somehow make the rain turn into ice or something but it hadn't worked. "What murder?" he asked, almost sulkily - eyeing the offerings with a bit of disdain.

"You know," Lucian replied with a slight tsk, "The screaming and the stakes and flash of light. Father said somebody died. That we shouldn't be out alone." He nodded, glancing at Rion with a smile.

"Yeah... if you're out alone you could get killed! Stabbed with a stake or your eyes burned out by light. That wouldn't be very fun." Rion made a face and pulled down his lower eyelids, "You'd be all gross and ugly. You sure you don't know anything?"

"Huh?" Rhiloss replied, blinking at them with a frown. "I have no idea what you're talking about." Shoving his hands in his pockets - he then suddenly let out a word he probably shouldn't even know when a gust of wind blew his hood off, making cold rain trickled down his neck.

Eyeing them - now in a rather bad mood - he muttered, "Stakes might improve your looks."

"Oh? You think so?" They replied in unison, smirking as they split and stood to either side of Rhiloss, leaning on him a little, "Maybe, but there's not much to be done about you, unfortunately. You're just stuck being bland."

"And short." Lucian commented thoughtfully.

"Mmn, and tubby," replied Rion.

"Get off me!" Rhiloss snapped at that, twisting out from between them, without even paying much attention to their words. "You are crazy. No one died and no one will die," he said then - convinced they were just being idiots and messing with him now. Because he was short, maybe.

"You don't believe us....?" Rion smirked, tilting his head and leaning in close enough that the other could feel his breath on his skin. The heady, complex scent of Fallen swirled around the pair like an alluring, dangerous haze, "You sure you don't want to believe us?"

"We can proove it, you know." Lucian replied, reaching to grasp Rhiloss' hands, "And then we can cheer you up properly~" It was odd, perhaps even a little frightening, at how cheery they seemed.

Rhiloss started to pull away, but then was caught for a moment by that smell, actually relaxing just a little. But he shook his head then and his own cold and clear scent cut through theirs, eyes narrowing. "How would you prove it?"

They both grinned, a beautiful expression tempered by the mischief in their eyes, "This way." Lucian and Rion grabbed Rhiloss then, and started dragging him to where the festival had been, "Remember the festival? There. There's probably blood stains and stuff still... Maybe even a ghost!"

"You don't have to -drag- me," Rhiloss grumbled, but he went with them... curious now. If they were telling the truth... he wondered if his own guardians even knew about it yet. Did Arius know?

"Didn't seem like you wanted to come, a minute ago, icy-boy." Rion muttered and let go, a motion that was echeod by Lucian and second later.

"You really don't know?" Lucian asked, curious, "How can you not? Haven't you noticed the streets are practically empty? Probably the murderer's doing.... I wonder if they caught 'im." As they walked, they drew nearer the scene of the murder, and it wasn't long before signs of a struggle could be seen on the ground. Litter from knocked over displays and ribbons from the decorations remained in sad testament to the abrupt departure of the crowds that had gathered.

"It -is- raining," Rhiloss pointed out, looking pointedly at all the wet. In his opinion most people didnt' like the rain much. He was only out here well... because he had been bored, really.

When they got closer though, the boy slowed down and frowned. "It looks like a storm went through here."

"Yeah. A storm of feet." Lucian quipped, "Believe us now?"

"Nah, he won't. Needs to be hit on the head with proof, I bet." Rion replied and pushed them both forward, "C'mon I think I see the blood spatter!" Without waiting any further, the Scent padded over to stand on the edge of where the bloodshed had happened, eyes wide. There was a large stain... not just that someone was shot, or hurt... but.... enough to be deadly. Subconciously, the twins reached for another, suddenly realizing that it wasn't just an accident.... feeling lucky that their other half hadn't been caught in whatever had caused this trouble.

Rhiloss frowned and followed them - also stopping at the edge of the stain that not even the rain had washed away. "Wow..." he said quietly - squatting down and kind of ... poking hesitantly at the dull red with a single finger.

Blood normally didn't bother him but there had been a -lot- of it here. "Who died?" he asked then, twisting head around to look up. Anyone that he had met...?

Lucian shook his head, "The journal father made us write in said Amryx had died.... that Olivia had screamed very loudly. And some other person, a Moanna, was involved." His tone was quiet, uncertain.

Rion nodded, though he didn't say anything - there was no need to.

Amryx... no... Olivia... yes, he remembered her. But she hadn't died... and Moanna. He didn't know that one either. "I never met her..." he murmured, standing up again and brushing fingers off on his coat - though there was nothing on them.

"We don't know who she is either... Can't even remember a face. It's kind of sad..." Rion murmured, glancing at Rhiloss, "Say... are you sad yet? Want to be cheered up? We have that stuff we showed you."

Lucian chuckled and nodded, "Yeah, since you obviously know absolutely nothing useful."

Rhiloss seemed to think about that for a minute and then tilted head at them. "Why give me stuff if I didn't tell you anything?" he asked, frowning. After all if they were going to use it for bribes or whatever didnt' that defeat the purpose?

They shrugged, "You're funny. It's free, why not take it? If you don't want it, fine. Just trying to cheer you up. But if you're going to be stupid about it, then forget it." Sharp words, coming from Lucian as he turned to leave, "C'mon Rion, he's not sad, has no information and doesn't want to be cheered up. Useless, ne?"

Rion paused a moment, frowning at Rhiloss, "Last chance."

Rhiloss rolled his eyes just slightly and then reached out and grabbed a vial at random. Maybe he could give it to his parents or even Arius next time he was in trouble to make them lighten up. "You probably won't find out what happened anyway. Whoever killed Amryx is probably in jail."

"And you said nobody had died. What do you know?" Lucian smirked, saluted the other and turned to leave.

"Bye." Rion replied, his expression echoing Lucian's. Really... the kid thought he knew everything apparently. But they'd just proven him wrong. At least he'd been entertaining for a little bit... now he was boring - for them both. "If you actually know something, come find us, hn? What's your name? We're Lucian and Rion."

"Rhiloss," he replied at that, glaring at the both of them. He might not have known someone died, but he knew what happened to killers. They went to jail. Oh well. Not that he really cared anyway.

"Later," he said, turning and heading off another direction.
