Kitandiko sighed to herself and looked up at the sky. She was sitting way up the beach, just where the grass turned into sand. It was getting late in the afternoon, the sky turning red and purple as the sun declined. She liked the way the clouds look, though she couldn't name why. They looked fake, like images stained into the sky like berries did on fur. She found herself serene while watching them, not worrying about anything.
Because usually, And was full of worry. She worried what others thought about her. What was waiting for her in the future. She worried about making the wrong choices, and how they might play out over time. She worried about wandering too close to that awful water. And yet she never let it show. She kept it all bottled up inside, and lived casually, though in a fairly isolated way.
She didn't like the idea of mixing with others. Twice now she had gotten friends and family into danger, and now she carried two secrets her mother could never find out about. It seemed that was what she was destined to do with others, and she hated the fact. Maybe it was just better if she remained alone.
Though, it sure was lonely.

Isako was currently wandering along the beach herself - but instead of staring up at the clouds, she was watching the waves. Seeing if they might wash up treasures. Once, she'd found a really pretty shell and had carefully carried it back home, proud of her find. Her mother had smiled and taken the shell from her, then given it back a few days later as a necklace she could wear.
Still small, the little cub tripped over her own paws for a moment and landed nose-first in the surf. Ooooww... that hurt!
Sniffling a bit, Isako picked herself up, and only then noticed that someone else was here. "Hello!" she called out, softly.

And heard the familiar sound of paws on sand, her keen ears getting used to picking up that ever so soft beat, and turned her head in the direction of the approach. She spotted a creature she wasn't sure she could name, not too well versed in species outside of lions, but she didn't seem too worried about it. Considering herself an oddity, she had a very easy time accepting others that might also be thought the same.
Or at the very least, just slightly different.
"Hi," she said, sounding a bit indifferent though she was trying to go for friendly and welcoming. Those were two expressions she was unused to, and her lack of practice was evident. Shaking her head, she tried again, "how are you? My name is Kitandiko."

Lifting a paw to rub at her now-sore nose just a bit, Isako wrinkled her face up before looking up - trying to look as if nothing at all had happened. Who, her? Clumsy? Naaah.
"I'm okay~ My name's Isako!" she replied brightly, more confident now that she was sure the other was friendly. If Kitandiko had growled or something, she probably would have just run away.

And didn't smile, though she knew in her mind that it was kind of a funny way to be introduced to someone. She was just a bit stiff, and bad with company. It was something she was trying to work on, though for now she was having a bit of a rough start.
"Isako," she echoed, nodding, as if committing it to memory.
She would probably forget it soon. It wasn't on purpose, she was just bad with faces. One more reason she didn't have many friends, she supposed. Feeling a bit listless, she decided to engage this strange looking cub.
"What were you doing? I mean. Before the nose in the sand bit. Or did you just... fall down?"

"Oh, I was looking for treasures!" Isako replied eagerly. "See this?" she said, putting a paw on the shell hanging about her neck. "My mommy made it for me... I was seeing if I could find more."
She knew the other cub was older than her, and probably... didn't trip as much. "But then I tripped. That's all."
