He was actually feeling sick, his stomach burning with each swallow of water that entered his mouth. Vox couldn't explain why his joints were hurting him, why he had an urge to only be submersed in a pool or tub for a long time, but as it seemed that was impossible thanks to his recent actions he could only suffer outside.
Perhaps it was whatever Port and Aft had been feeding him, actually more like forcing down his throat then allowing him to pick and choose, and they never told him what it was. Vox was sure none of it was good for him, the twins probably followed Rit's commands and fed him something nasty.
That being said and done he stood outside in the children's play park, the spring weather shining down around him. He was sweating despite the slightly cool temperature and his normally wet hair seemed to be drying up.
"Feeling sick . . . "

Joshua had walked to the park, he was tired of listening to his mother and grandfather fight--today it was over Davian, earlier it had been about reptiles. They always had something to argue about. So there he was, dressed casually in jeans and a windbreaker. He spotted a recgonizable face, and smiled.
"Hi Vox! Hey.. you don't look so well. Are you feeling alright?" The boy had a concerned look on his face as he studied the toddler.

Vox looked up as a voice hailed him, and for a moment he looked honestly confused. He didn't know who this person was, he'd never seen someone rapidly grow since the last time he'd met them, so Josh did not even register in his memory.
" . . . ?"
He tilted his head sideways, confused. He probably should know this person, they knew him, and he knew so very few people that would speak with him. Lucien was one, the other was -
"Joshua?"

Joshua was impressed, Vox remembered him. "Right." He said, nodding. "But really, are you alright?" He asked, with a slight tilt of his head. "You look like you're catching the flu or something." Joshua was concerned, the toddler looked like he had a fever, he was sweating pretty badly.
The older boy felt awkward. He had no soup, so he couldn't give Vox that. He didn't have any tylonal, so he couldn't bring the toddler's fever down. "Are you too hot, Vox?" He asked. Maybe the boy wanted to go swimming. Joshua knew of a pond nearby.

"No, not hot. I feel hot but I'm not really hot. I feel sick, like my body wants to burn up."
The little Kelpie looked at the larger boy with slight disdain, not wanting his concern or caring for his questions at the moment. It may have seemed that Joshua was bigger in body but not in his habits. It was something of a relief.
"I want water, but I was told not to leave here or else I'll get fed again. I don't know how much more I can eat before I die."

Josh had an idea. "Wait here." The boy picked up a nearby abandoned pail. "I'll go get you some water." He went to the water fountain, and started to fill it. If water would make the younger boy feel better, he'd get him some.
"Here." He offered the bucket to Vox. "Is this enough water?" The bucket was filled to the brim--but if Vox needed more, the older boy was always willing to make another trip.

It was a stupid command to make to a child stay in one place when he couldn't very well walk to begin with but Vox obeyed, his head nodding in agreement for once, and he swayed a little on his feet as he watched Josh run over to get some water for him. When the older child returned with a pail full to the brim his face broke out into a look of hope.
"Water."
He didn't say anything else, instead he bent over and dunked his entire head into the cool liquid. It stung at first because of the temperature difference, but he didn't care. He needed it badly to get rid of the burning in his body, the pain and ache of poison.

Joshua watched, curious at first, and then concerned. Was the toddler drowning? There wasn't bubbles coming from the pail, so he couldn't be. The older boy still, thought it would be better to ask.
"Uh... Vox? Are you okay?" He asked, it didn't cross his mind that if Vox was drowning, the toddler probably wouldn't have been able to respond. Maybe bringing water hadn't been the best idea.

Vix didn't respond after five or so minutes, his head still under the water and taking in all that he could. It felt so good but he had to concentrate, at least enough to get some of the pain out, for he knew he would need more water then this. He would probably need to be submerged in water at the very least, and for long time.
Doing something like this only cured his headache at best.
" Ahh ...."
He lifted his head back up after a few minutes more, the color of his cheeks looking slightly improved. It was hard to tell since his natural complexion was ashen, but he did have a hint or two of health.

"Are you alright? You were underwater a long time!" Joshua said, in his relief to see that the toddler had not drowned. He studied the boy. He did look like he was feeling better. "Are you sure you're not allowed to leave the park? Because the pond's right over there." He pointed to the left.
He could see it from where they were standing. It wasn't very big, there were ducks, and most likely small frogs and turtles in it.

Vox looked a little confused, but then remembered that Josh was probably the one of the very few he knew so far that also did not know he was a Kelpie. Many of the others did because of what he tried to do them (bite or drown), but he had always been civil with Josh.
"Oh, it's because I'm a Kelpie. I can breathe underwater, so I can't drown. You don't have to worry that way."
He shook his head to get rid of the excess water, a few drops rolling down onto his clothing. It felt nice and cool, and maybe going to the lake wouldn't be a bad idea.
"I can go, but I can't walk that far. My head doesn't hurt but it's still hard to move."

Joshua seemed to take this all in stride. "A Kelpie? That's cool!" Well, his mother was an elf, his aunt a fae, and he had a friend that was a pirate. And Kelpies were cool. Wait a moment.
"If you're a Kelpie, how come you're not a horse?" Josh asked, with a slight tilt of his head. He knew something of the mythological creatures, his mom was fascinated by them. "And I could always carry you there-- it's not too far."

"I am a horse, this form is just more...useful. People usually fear talking horses, and this way to can get others to talk to me without having to rely on anything else."
Vox was slightly taken aback that Josh didn't seem scared of him as the others had. Perhaps he only knew a little about Kelpies, and not their true horrors.
"And you can try carrying me if you want, but I can't guarantee I won't try and bite you."

"I suppose so." Joshua nodded in agreement. People would be afraid of a talking horse-- everyone, except the boy. He was fascinated by horses. "I won't mind." Josh told the toddler. "As long as you don't bite too hard." He moved to pick Vox up.
"Anyway, if you are sick, water helps Kelpies." He paused. "How'd you get sick anyway? Fae aren't supposed to, unless they drink holy water or something. Well... Risa gets sick if she has milk."

"I'd rather not say, because I don't know. It must have been something along the way, but I'm being punished so I guess I deserve it."
Vox lifted his arms up so he could be held by Josh, and when the older boy picked him up it would look like a kid holding their younger sibling, at least in terms of height. It was hard to believe the two boys were actually quite close in age.
"You seem to know about Fae, but we Kelpies are a little different. It's not that we're entirely dependent on water, it just helps us out. I think I used that word right. Also, there are many things that make me sick. I can't have liver or hearts, and I can't touch anything holy - not just holy water."
