One by one it seemed as if things were coming together, each day making them seem just a little bit clearer. Today, for instance, her normal morning hunt had lead to a piece of the puzzle that she and her mate were slowly putting together... One piece at a time until they added up to what they would need to move on with their plans.
She thought of it even after the lion had left with his daughter, mind whirling as she stalked her prey to bring it down, dragging it back to their den. She paused for a moment to still her mind, sorting through images before shaking it all off. "Nukta... I'm home."

He had made himself comfortable in the recesses of the small cave while he let his mind wander over his plans. It had been a welcome surprise to find someone else willing to give their strength for him. The little girl might prove useful too. Females were always good to have around. Their sleek bodies were far better suited to hunting.
As that thought crossed his mind he heard his mate's voice. "Welcome back." Pulling himself ot his feet he stretched.

She made her way towards the entrance of the cave, greeting him with a gentle nuzzle. "Breakfast was easy to find... It seems as though Fortune is smiling on us today, my love; bringing us strength along with sustenance."

"It is about time she smiled upon us." They were getting their share of what his brother wasn't suppose to be getting. "The herds that travel through here have been good for us. There is always something worth catching"
They had yet to go without food thanks to Du's talents at the hunt. HE was blessed to have her with him

"Breakfast is going to get cold if you don't come now." She stepped back, giving him room to emerge and walk past her, tail flicking slowly behind her. "You can tell me what you think of our new companion and his little one while you eat..."

"Mm ..." he wandered past her and after looking for what looked to be a juicy part leaned down to tear a bite off of breakfast. "They seem useful. Strong and willing to fight. Though hopefully the cub wont be that way much longer. I would not want to risk her getting injured"

"Mm... I was hoping more that we might have cubs of her own; young ones for her to play with. While your kin may be horrible, they wouldn't hurt cubs, would they? Especially not those who carry royal blood... They need that line to continue, do they not?" Her brow lofted slightly as she sat on the other side of the carcass, watching him.

"There is always the chance that cubs would get caught in between things. It has happened before." He knew cubs had been killed the last time he'd attacked his brother. It was just something that would have to be delt with.
"The bloodline does need to continue, and i do not forsee Rasi doing that any time soon." He smirked slightly. He knew his brothers mate had met a rather bloody fate. Licking his lips he looked back up at his mate. "I do need Heir to being back with me ... one who can give me more right to the throne."

"The strong ones will survive... And I have no doubt that our cubs will be strong. I also see much potential in the little one." She nodded slowly, pushing herself up onto all fours so that she could stalk closer to her mate, tucking her head beneath his. "I told you that I would see to it that Fortune blessed you with an heir..."

"That you did." He smiled as he nuzzled her gently. "Your blood is strong. We could have nothing but strong cubs." and they would be taught well. They would know their enemies inside and out.

"Strong sons and smart daughters." She smirked softly, letting her eyes close for a moment. "The best from both of us... I know that they'll be everything we've ever wished for."

"Mmhm.." he nodded slightly before nudging her away. "If we are to have strong and smart cubs then we both need our breakfast." He smirked before leaning down to tear off another bite.

"Yes, we do." She nodded in slow agreement as she stepped back once nudged, waiting until he took his place at their meal before finding her own. They would both need their strength in the months to come, more so if they would be giving strength to others, their own cubs included.
