Devya had been from his home following a herd of gazelle to be lost in on the savannah to be lost in a jungle. He was greatful for the help from Persephone otherwise he'd still be in the jungle. He fur was messy, even though he'd tried to keep clean and his limbs were all very tired, but a least he'd been able to catch a meal in the night so he was not longer hungry. He beemed at the thought, he'd caught a baby gazelle, his first ever and to him that meant his luck was looking up. It turned out that his luck was doing just that, he could finally see the volcano that meant his home was to far away. He just had to go around it and he'd be home. Devya stopped in his tracks smelling the scent of many, none familiar and wondered if it was safe to continue, but decided against it and though it would be a longer journey he started around the scents continuing on his way.

Shakil was currently stalking a rabbit through the underbrush... pawsteps careful...quiet. When quite suddenly, the rabbit perked it's ears up and then ran off, obviously startled by something. Aaagh! Now what? Sitting up with a little growl, the juvenile looked around, eyes narrowed. And soon enough he spotted another young lion not too far away. "Hey! Who're you?" he called out. "You scared away my rabbit!"

Devya looked up went a voice called out to him and stopped to see where the voice came from. He quickly spotted the young lion and became a little nervous. The other sounded annoyed and Devya may had caught a baby gazelle but he was in no mood for a fight. "I'm Devya," he called back. "Im sorry I did not know you were hunting." Devya became really still and listened quietly for any sound, but he did not hear any rabbits around and frowned. He'd hoped he could have at least pointed the other in the direction of a another rabbit.

Shakil started over toward the other, still a bit annoyed for a moment... but then, he calmed down with a little sigh. It wasn't the other's fault. But... Devya? He hadn't heard that name before. "How'd you get here...? These lands belong to a pride, you know," he told the other, though he didn't sound so annoyed now.

Devya backed up a bit when the other approached him but when he spoke in a less annoyed voice he calmed, thought the question made his flush with embarassment. He was glad for his dark fur, for if he had fur like his sister it would be very obvious. "I followed a herd of gazelle, realized I was lost after they snuck off while I was napping, wandered into a jungle, was directed out and have been walking for sometime trying to make my way back home," he mumbled the quick explanation coming out in a tumble of words. "I did not know these lands were another prides. I do not even know where he is from. I am from Matembezi'Wasakaji."

"Matem-whaaa?" Shakil repeated, breaking off the name halfway through. He had never even heard of that place... the only other pride around here that he knew of was the demons. And a little bit about some kind of vampires that supposedly lived in the jungle near the demons. "I don't have any idea where that is... d'you know how to get back?" he asked, realizing after a moment that he should probably try to be helpful.

Devya grinned, "The Matembezi'Wasakaji. The seeks to to combat the evil overtaking the Savannah. To serve and protect," he said proudly. "It okay that you never heard of our pride. I never heard of your's either. I only know other pride beside mine. One is a pride of a females and the other well their different." Devya looked to the volcano in the distance. He knew exactly how to get home from there. Motioning with he paw, he pointed out past the volcano, slightly westward. "It's near the volcano, but not really close. I just now I can see it pretty well towards where the sun rises."

"That volcano is really really dangerous to get close to," Shakil said almost immediately, looking suddenly serious. This was one lesson that -all- young ones in the Mwako-bi'Giza were taught early. "There's -demons- that live there, and they're mean and nasty... I heard once that they eat cubs."

Devya knew the volcano was dangerous, after all it was a volcano. Devya nearly laughed until he understood what the young male meant, then he did laugh and really hard. "I know there are demons there," he chocked out, " I met the one and he most certainly did not eat me. Otherwise I would not be here. He was eating a gazelle just like any normal lion." Devya thought the male was being silly, but he also hadn't a bad encounter with the demons or anyone to tell him they were a danger to him. He was quite blissfully unaware. "Um, what is the pride anyway and what your name?"

"What! You met a demon and he didn't attack you or anything?!" Shakil burst out, eyes widening a bit. He forced himself to calm down a little, though and drew himself up. "I'm Shakil, and this is the Mwako-bi'Giza. A lot of the adults here have been hurt by the demons so they made this pride to fight against them."

Devya frowned, he really knew nothing of the demons, but he did not like what he was hearing. "Yes and no, of couse he didn't attack me. I did not do anything wrond and I was even smaller than I am now. Who would attack a cub?" Devya did not mention that the demon had told him to come to the pride when he was stronger, nor that he was excited to go to the demons for his training. He did not think he was hearing both side of the story and did not really wish to hear anything more on the subject, so he decided to change it. "By the way, what your name?"

Shakil blinked. "I said already... I'm Shakil.." Was this kid stupid or something? Or just not paying attention? He didn't seem worried about the demons either, which was weird. Could he be a spy or something? That would be bad! But... Shakil didn't really think the demons would send cubs to spy anyway. That wasn't very scary or anything, after all.

Devya flushed again, "Er sorry. I um didnt hear you." Devya sat his tired leg needing a rest and he seemed not to be going anywhere soon. "Even if there are demons there, my pride lives past there and that way is the quickest way. Though since these lands are your prides lands I suppose I will have to go around." Devya hoped he had the energy to go that far, he seriously doubted it, so it seemed he would be delayed even more because he really needed to rest soon.

Shakil sighed. He guessed if Devya was just going to go -past- the volcano he should be okay. "Well, if you don't get too close to the volcano, maybe they won't find you," he murmured. Then ears pricked a bit and he tilted head. "I don't think anyone would mind if you went through our lands... as long as you aren't something like a demon in disguise." He laughed at that - even though it was something -he- had thought a moment ago. But surely not.

Devya was tempted to roll his eye, "Im sure they won't find me. I'll be sure to stay far away." For now anyway. Dev's attitude deflated at the thought of being able to pass through the lands. It was the best news, he'd be home soon. He'd be safe with his mom and sister, he simply could not wait. "Thats wonderful," he said before he laughed, "no I am most certainly not a demon." He grinned, "Thank you. Going around would have been a pain."

Shakil smiled at that. "You're welcome. If anybody asks you, you can just tell them you met me... my dad is one of the demon-hunters so if they have a problem they'll have to deal with -him-!" Shakil didn't really think anything like that would happen, though.

Devya nodded and got to his feet, but then he realized what the young male had just said and it made him slightly angry. Demon hunters ... they were seeming to be a less friendly pride by the second and if Devya werent so tired and lonely he'd definitely go around. But Shakil did not see so horrible, no one could really help the things they are taught until they learn for themselves. "Um ... would you like to come with me part way. I'd like the company and you could stop well before we ever got to the volcano."

Shakil blinked and then grinned. That was important, escoring someone through the lands! "Sure, I can go with you... I'll just stop at our borders, it's far enough away. I should warn you about the vampires too, though," he said. "I heard there's a group of them that live in the jungle near the volcano. They don't eat anything but they drink the blood of all their prey..."

"Thank you," said Devya estatic to have some company. Hearing about the vampires reminded him that he did in fact know of them. His pride was none to kind to the vampire and all cubs learned early on to beware of Toshiro. "My pride teaches their little one to beware of the vampires, do not worry I will not go near there. I do not wish to end up in there mist." Devya supressed a small chill, but quickly shook it off. Smiling he pointed toward him home, "after you my new friend."

Shakil grinned at that and started off - heading toward where he could see the volcano on the horizon, above the trees of the jungle. This would be fun!
