The large stallion's hooves gracefully touched the soft and rather damp ground in a patient trot; the long green grass, overgrown, tickled and curled around his strong, muscular legs. There showed no sign that there was a light drizzle the day before; The bright sun shined brightly, warming his black back, a reassuring sign that the weather would be good today [or atleast for now]. It was a perfect day with the perfect weather. Shikoba let out a blissful sigh of relief. If only every day was like this.. he thought silently to himself.

Finding a spot shaded by an old tree, the male sat under the mass of bark and leaves, wary of any clumps of roots that might cause uncomfort. He nipped at any flowers within reach of him and let out a good-natured laugh.

It had been awhile since he shared a moment like this with another horse. And at moments like this, he wondered if he'd be able to do that again, and if so... If he'd want to. His green eyes looked up at the clear blue sky, watching the shapes of the clouds twist and change as the wind moved them along. He counted. Two, three... Four clouds were currently visible. The white cotton-candy shapes shown large and with an imaginary sense of importance. Shikoba grinned. A scenary that he couldtreasure as his own and not share; he liked the sound of that.

It was a beautiful day - the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and it was just plain perfect - and then Kintori stepped on to the scene. As she would think of it, her beauty was indescribable, and nature paled in comparison her alluring appearance. She found the chirping of the birds to be chatter about her - avian envy she liked to call it. Tossing her mane just so, she trotted on at a leisurely pace through the damp, green grass.

Flicking her plain, white ears Kintori knew she heard something. The heavy crunch of grass underfoot was what she had noted, and it was way too heavy to be the soft, graceful footsteps of the delicate Kintori. Moving her head slowly from side to side, Kintori soon spotted another in the distance - a male with a fiery red mane and tail. 'Hmm...' Kintori thought idly, padding forward ever-closer to not-so-distant male.

As she neared him, she found his appearance to be quite striking, though nothing compared to hers. He had a dazzling fur pattern of varying black and red shades. His main and tail were of a vibrant red, and he was adorned with gold jewelry and a maroon-colored scarf. 'Not half bad,' she thought, raising an eyebrow with interest. Of course, being the curious mare she was, Kintori continued on with peaked curiosity.

The stallion had zoned out while watching the clouds, his green eyes staring into the sky listlessly. And when the mare approached him--an appearance that suggested delicate and even slightly fragile--he was caught by surprise, completely off guard. Shikoba turned his eyes towards her, shaking his head so that his crimson red mane would move out of his eyes where they attempted to prevent his vision.

When the stallion was able to get a good look, he was satisfied; infact, more than satisfied. She was stunning. Her white body was decorated with gold markings and tinges and a golden mane and tail. He sat there, dazzled by her appearance, admiring how she seemed to house an inner light, her own glow, like she was her own sun. That thought--the one of this scenary and day being only for him, was meaningless now as he watched the beautiful mare.

He clammered to his hooves. "Mornin', sunshine. What's a damsel like you prancing around in a simple place like this?" he asked, easing himself to his feet. Perhaps she savored the simple life like him, watching the skies lit with daylight and finding the most comfortable spot to rest for a night before starting a brand new day. Who knew? His eyes followed her head down until he could study her wings, arched so they lay against her body.

Striking, emerald eyes. That was the next thing Kintori saw - the very thing that made her stop and stare for a second before moving on again. They were bright, and startling. They flashed restlessly, the light from the sun creating a twinkling effect. 'Gorgeous,' was the first word that came to Kintori's mind. Of course, the next was no surprise; 'Almost as much as I.'

Barely noticing the gorgeous day outside, Kintori drew ever-closer until she was stopped within a few feet of the stallion. She was almost shocked when he opened his mouth and a symphony of words emerged. The sound was beautiful - music to Kintori's ears. This had nothing to do with his compliments of course. That was, until her mind registered them.

Smiling warmly, Kintori tossed back her golden-yellow mane. She knew she needed something cute, yet smart to say back to him. Something perhaps witty, but something that also seemed as if she was the well-rounded type. Wasting no time, she replied, "Ah, but the simple beauty of the outdoors is what keeps alive the light inside me." She softened her smile to look less eager, but quite happy with her response. Flicking her tail, she awaited yet another reply from the handsome stallion before her.

Such beautiful golden mane. A pale yellow, the perfect shade for a femme like herself, with not a hint of dirt speckling her anatomy or twigs in her mane. He pictured himself, pretending to step out of his body momentarily to glare at the stallion. He pictured how unkept his tail probably looked with its tangles and how twigs might decorate his mane, how dirt would be smeared against his thighs and legs... His inside self scoffed and retreated back to his body, discarding the image from his mind with slight shame. So mediocre compared to her. So plain except for his scarf and small beads decorating his head in a type of necklace or headpiece.

Listening to her flow of words, he grinned wide, letting his white teeth easily show themselves again his black muzzle. Her speech pattern was elegant like her, an easy flow of words from word to word, sentence to sentence. She knew exactly what to say. It pleased the horse to know that he was talking to such a....Perfect mare like her. "That makes perfect sense. Afterall, I can see quite the light shining around you. You're like your own little sun~" He winked innocently.

Shikoba's emerald green eyes shifted to her face so he could look into her light gray eyes. Grey was a rather dull color he always thought, but the way she captured it changed his mind. So bright, filled with a sense of pride and maybe curiosity... Blue eyes could of suited her better, but you can't be perfect in everything. His crimson mane fell back into place over his eyes. He shook his head again impatiently in hopes of getting it out of his eyes. "So what's a fellow like me to call a nice young lady like yourself?" he asked, his grin holding its place. Rephrase? What's your name?

Kintori watched with twinkling eyes as the stallion looked her over. She knew she looked good she always did. Every day at least twice she was sure to travel to a body of water for the simple task of checking to make sure her appearance was no less than perfect. Of course, it was unnecessary with such beauty as hers, but nonetheless she felt the need to. And this paid off, as she could see by the wonderment in the handsome stallion's emerald eyes.

There was no surprise in Kintori's mind as he grinned, showing a mouth full of pearly whites. They were gorgeous, and glinted in the bright sunlight. That being said, they were quite a contrast to the brilliant tar-color of his muzzle - a handsome sight indeed. Smiling at his comment, she nodded her head slightly in agreement. "Ah, yes, I know. Some say I quite resemble an angel fallen from the heavens," she added, fluttering her wings a bit. Of course, no one had ever told her this, but staring at her reflection in a nearby lake she certainly thought so.

Connecting eyes with him, she almost blushed. She was well-aware of the fact that she had dull gray eyes, but she knew that they were still a gorgeous asset that complemented her body well. Of course, if she had a set of striking blue or green eyes she'd be the talk of the town - not literally, of course. They'd just be so vibrant against her light-colored fur that they'd pop right out and sparkle like nothing anyone's ever seen before, save for her mane and tail and coat and wings... As well as just about every other part of Kintori. Smiling at his politeness, she replied, "You may call me dazzling, if you like, but most call me Kintori." Smiling, she returned the question with the same elegant politeness.
