For him, fate always seemed to be on his side. When his mother fled from his father, he'd gained a wonderful human. He'd made great friends, and met stallions who he grew up to emulate. His best friends he'd known since he was foal, and he fought hard against the label his father had.

His father was a powerful male, an elder now as it was, a leader. He had his own herd of all winged Soquili. He holds a complex against grounds, feeling they are inferior. The steel colored male had never had a relationship with his father. He'd always wanted one, like his brother had.

Kassie, his human, and the herd he grew up with rasied him to see everyone the same. No one was better than anyone else. The way his father and his herd thought just wasn't the way he was raised to act. But, sometimes he caught himself thinking how weak grounds were when he saw them. His herd was mostly made up of grounds, but he saw them differently. To him...they were family, not grounds.

Sometimes, he caught himself acting like his father. Especally as of late. He needed to n** that in the bud. Right now.

The sun's heat fell over the earth like a warm blanket. The heat baked the ground and refracted back into the air causing ripples to appear as dancing lines. A lone figure emerged from these lines ... perhaps another mirage in itself.

The day was shaping up to be one that Echo's Song would like to forget. The sun's intense rays felt like fire along the mare's back and made her question why she had ever started this journey in the first place. Looking back perhaps it was a foolish decision that had led Echo into her current predicament. She had wanted to see more of the world. Young, naïve and inexperienced - Echo had set out into her journey without thinking of the consequences. Now she was feeling the effects of poor planning.

She was overheated. The sun's heat and lack of water on the journey had caused Echo to falter. All she needed was to find a place where she could escape the sun for a while and recuperate. Doggedly she pushed herself forward ... fighting the exhaustion which wanted to lay claim upon her body.

Ty stood under the shade of a large tree. It was hotter than hades, and the heat waves could be seen as it beat down on the earth. Now, either he was seeing things, or there was a dark coated female out there.

Now, THAT was a ridiculous idea. What dark coated female would be crazy enough...- Oh.

It was a female! She looked about ready to pass out too. Ty trotted over to her quickly, stepping up to her side to keep her upright.

"Miss? Miss, are you ok?!"

Echo's Song looked up wearily at the stallion who had appeared out of nowhere. He could not just be a figment of her imagination as she could feel his frame against hers. It gave her a sense of silent support that was a welcome sensation. However it was still way too warm for the contact. Flicking her tail Echo pulled gently away before she turned ninety degrees to face her sudden company.

"I think I'm alright. That is if I'm not having a conversation with nothing but air. I'm not ... right?"

There was a little bit of uncertainty in Echo's question but considering that mirages usually didn't give off a scent of heated horse she assumed that whomever had come to her aid was indeed real. Echo cleared her throat and immediately wished she hadn't. The dry air continued it's burning presence across the mare's air passages and she was determined to not simply give in to the desire to stop and rest.

Ty laughed, shaking his head. "No miss, your not. I'm solid, and real."

He smiled, lookin about. "How about we find you a place to rest? Its far to hot to be trasping about. There's a river not to far from here, if you wish to cool down." Lord knew he was hot.

In more ways than one.

Oh heavens, that was SUCH a bad line. Good thing he kept that line to himself.

Echo chuckled softly before falling silent. At least she wasn't going crazy yet. As the heat continued to beat down on the mare she glanced up at her rescuer. He stood tall and proud and Echo glanced over his markings before she caught on. This stallion would fall into the Ali Soquili race and she suddenly felt nervous. Straightening Echo listened to the stallion's words and she couldn't help but look around quickly to find this river that he spoke of.

Feeling that remaining silent was not conductive to good manners Echo cleared her throat and nodded in reply to the stallion's suggestion. Her voice shook briefly. "Well finding this place seems like a good idea. I guess I should thank you and introduce myself. I am Echo's Song. However I will respond to others calling me Echo. Thank you for coming to my aid."

The heat was still affecting the mare but she was not totally at ease of yet. Something about this stallion urged her to trust him but she could not let her guard down yet.
