A cheery little chuckle floated from the throat of the stallion half prancing through the underbrush. The forest grew murky and gray as he passed under each recoiling leaf and branch, but he might as well be dancing through a sunny field of flowers for all his smiles would suggest. A fly or two would land on his muzzle or ear, perhaps settle for a moment amongst his dirty locks or atop his hindquarters before zipping lazily off to some tasty meal it scented on the winds.

He paid them no mind though, the dingy creature more preoccupied with his humming tune than the gleeful insects that followed him near constantly. Their buzzing presence was too natural, his ears too used to drowning it out with thoughts and songs or conversations should he manage to lasso himself one. Now though he could add the crunching of his hooves over flora and fallen fauna to the list to keep the flies away from him and oh so happy - it was a mutual benefit really. He kept them happy, and they were willing to play annoyance to those whom might prove to be an entertainment, or serve as scouts if he decided ignoring the world around him would be fun for a while.

Right now Beelzebub took notice for how they were quite plump and sleepy in their flittings around him. Soon they would procreate, new maggots springing forth soon after, and most of his current flock would be dead and made into yummy fertilizer for the plants he now stalked through without a care. Then those maggots would grow up into pretty little flies happy to follow him and gorge themselves on the victims of sickness of physical or mental means. What happy little critters they are! He truly envied them for that.

His yellow eyes servaying the wood around him, he grinned. "Oh to be the fly on the wall in a place like this ~ surely a forest like this would be so perfect to watch and laugh as others stumble and mutter their way through~"

Because, really, what's more fun in this world than laughing at someone else's misfortune?

A softly hummed melody creeped through the forest as a branch cracked under hoof. Then another. And another.

Tulgey wasn't even going to bother using stealth, instead stepping carefully over the winding branches and watching small animals scurry away in startled flight. It was entertaining, at the very least. His head was down, focusing mostly on the tracks of a rabbit he had been following for a good part of the day. However, his ears swiveled forwards, his head lifting as he sensed the other soquili, "... 'Lo there!"

His grin twitched wider, ear twitching away a fly that had buzzed by his ear, then he kicked lightly at a bush, causing the rabbit he was following to dash Beelzebub's way.

(OOC: Blaaarg crappy post is crappy DX I ran into a serious writers block and totaled my train of thought)

(( No worries~ I have something to respond to, so I'm good ;P <3))

Creak..? Crack..?

Grungy ears twitched and swiveled, a questioning tune dancing around him as the glowing orbs set deep in his skull sought the source of the intruding sounds and fright that was not of the demon himself -that alone warranted a raised brow at the very least. The flies buzzed with peeked interest, skittering around in an investigative sweep of their own. Their reports were unnecessary though, made mute by a male voice calling out on its own accord.

A rustle, a shriek, and a little brown body bolted its way towards the stallion. Irises as nothing more than black pin-pricks amongst impossibly wide whites, the rabbit skidded to a horrified halt before Beelzebub. He watched almost bored as it began to tremble and quake. Sweat matted its fur, a dot of blood forming at its nose before sputtering to the ground with the small creature's hyperventilating. A snort from Beelzebub startled it from its shocked trance, squealing again before racing off in yet another direction away from the large predators.

Somewhere, a crow cawed, a cackle if he'd ever heard one. The rabbit would soon be dead, of this he had no doubt, and the scavenger would have its meal. As if reading his mind, a great many of the flies flitted after the bunny in question, their collective buzzing a happy funeral march.

Yet another chuckle at his lips, he at last turned towards the one whom sent the critter to its death. "Hullo," he greeted the other cheerily, taking what steps were needed to gaze upon the strange male. Beelzebub grinned, mindful of the roots and bones that clung to him as he looked upon the seemingly foliage that hugged the pale one. What interesting company indeed~

"Wonderful day, is it not?"

((8D Yeah, even when I writers block, I try to think of SOMETHING to post @_@ Even if its just "reserved for post when I think of something other then a sentence", I dont like leaving people hanging. Also he's looking.. Erm.. Well Sexy isnt exactly the term I'd use, so "amazing"))

"It is." Tulgey grinned, scuffing his back hoof clean of mud on a root, the rabbit collapsing not too far away, panting heavily, exhausted and injured by repeated crashes and falls throughout the day, "mmn. Rabbits -- fascinating things to follow, but unfortunately far too fragile to play with regularly. Thankfully the little buggers breed like.. Well.. Rabbits." He laughed, shaking his head, "If I ever find one fit enough to survive the day, or brave enough to face me, then it'd be worth keeping them as a pet like other Soquili tend to do. But look at me Ramble.."

Bowing, his grin grew even wider, eyes wild and giddy. "Tulgey's th'name. And may I ask who this is to grace my usual haunts?"

(( I wish I could at least say I do that when I've writer's block, I'm just always afraid if I start a post but don't finish right away... I'll forget to finish it =___=;;; -falls over- I think the term "epic" can apply to all Mer Soq, personally ~<3 ))

He nodded his head in time with the other's words, an agreeable and knowing smile lighting his face. "Of course creatures of bounty can bring only so much pleasure - why else would there be so many? They must be quickly replaced~" If the flies had any sense of mind, they might have thought to scowl or n** at him for his blatant and open disregard for them, but being the one-track-minded creatures they were, his remarks were left unnoticed and unpunished.

A brow was raised though at the male's proposition, pausing to consider such a companion. "Surely you could find a better pet. A rabbit would be fine for only so long - it mustn't be able to keep your attention for so long, surely." A vaguely judging look came across him as he peered ever so slightly closer at him. Such early promise, would his fun be ruined already by stumbling upon such a simple persona beneath the intriguing pelt? Was this stallion nothing but a tease, all looks with no sustenance?

Or perhaps the dark one had simply removed himself too long from the fascination of smaller creatures to recall the interest their small bouts of bravery could bring.

Ah~ introductions. Something he knew responses to well and far, but he was pleased to see an unusual expression accompanying the opening lines. And what a peculiar wording as well~

"I hail to the calling of Beelzebub, my good sir." He bowed his head in joint greeting before giving a delightful grin of his own. "I do hope I'm not intruding on your land..~"

Another gleeful caw came from a length away, and a black bird cackled its way down towards the fallen meal on legs. It hopped around the thing with a hungry gleam in its eye, intelligent gaze flickering between the rabbit and the two horses as it waiting for the inevitable.

(*nod* Mer was one of my favorite of the colorists here, and I was NOT expecting to win a slot in the customs. I adore how they did Tulgey and can't wait to see Beezlebub completed 8D <3)

"I could, I know. But I like to collect things that fancy me, so I keep my minds eye open for any possibilities -- Oddities against nature can be found in the most unlikely of sources. No point being limited by the opinion of the species to keep me from seeing something interesting in an individual." Laughing, the striped horse wandered back to the rabbit -- and the crow in kind. He paused, as if pondering at the panting, sickly creature, before he kicked the rabbit into a tree with a flick of his hoof, its spine snapping with one last squeak before it lay dead, its final death sudden and without chance for recovery -- both a blessing and a curse for the unfortunate creature.

"..hmn, feed well, the game was over early today." shaking his mane, he returned his attention to the ratty looking companion, "No bother no bother, as long as you do not attempt to chase me from these woods." He'd be more likely to fall do his death in the ravine if he tried, the striped stallion thought with a chuckle, walking with practiced ease over the snarly tangles of roots, "What brings you here, if you do not mind my asking sir.. Beezlebub was it?"

((-grins- I think everyone has heart attacks when they get CC, it's just... like the most amazing thing, easily xox <33333))

Beelzebub hummed a pondering tune, turning the other's words around in his head. Oddities were the most enjoyable, often the most liberating and fascinating. Like this one here, really. Though the question was, how long would this stranger's odd behavior, mind and appearance keep hold over the demon's interest?

He turned and watched with an arched brow as Tulgey made his way towards the fallen critter, noting with a spark of mirth in his eye at the casualty in which he shattered the remnants of the thing's life. So quick, so heartless ~ so fun.

"What will you do with such creatures when you find them?" Beelzebub's filth ridden tail flicked in perking interest, wondering again how interesting this one's mind would be as he continued to probe it. "Would they all be a play thing to be discarded with a flick of a hoof?" Not accusing, just general curiosity was all that weighted his voice as his dancing eyes continued to follow him.

Behind Tulgey the crow seemed to give the stallion a cross look as if it'd wanted to watch the rabbit die a slow, painful death. But it took what few hops were needed to bring it up to the carcass and begin its feast, sharp beak soon piercing and pecking into the still-warm flesh. Flies descended in their merry little way, frolicking in the carnage the bird was creating. Unlike the crow, the flies rather loved the odd male right now for bringing their dinner to them all the quicker.

"Chase you out?" He laughed outright, tossing his almost skeletal head into the air, taking no notice as some of his long orange locks got tangled in some of the low branches above him. "Why would I ever do such a thing? I'd rather travel trough others' territory than claim any for my own. Not nearly as many entertaining meetings for someone to enter my lands than for I to enter another's univited."

Another flick of the tail, another sickly charming smile. "Beelzebub I am, Sir Tulgey. Beelzebub of the flies and filth that wanders endlessly for answers to questions that have yet to be asked~" He shrugged to the question. In truth, he had no motives for being here. "I suppose the wind brought me. Should you allow it, I assume it will continue to lead me through the wood to whatever lay beyond."

(It does make ones heart go pitter-patter over the fact that they liked your design enough to pick your design out of the ones available to choose from.

And blarg, writers block and 3am DX I'll try to actually write something Tomorrow once I wake up. D8 hopefully you wont have to wait too long and I'll contact you once I get a reply posted)

Shrugging, Tulgey shook his head, "It depends on the situation." He grinned, raising an eyebrow, "No one response in a row is the same -- to repeat things over and over and expecting it to change is a sign of insanity after all."

He threw his head back, laughing and baring dainty sharpened canines in his otherwise equine expression, "Anyway, feel free to wander, my friend. However, There is plenty of death and decay in the area. Many a soul have lost their lives here, Two-leggers and Soquili alike." He hissed slightly through clenched teeth, grinning as he whispered, "Its dangerous here. So very Dangerous."
