Kalama sighed quietly then looked around. She left her parent's watchful eyes to learn the land. So far, she didn't like what she saw. Her sister was hurt and Kalama didn't know what to do. Of course, she had an idea that probably would never happen. The little leopard wanted to create a pride. She wanted to have a pride that would be a safe haven for leopards and leopard hybrids. Would her dream ever come true? Kalama always seemed to question herself about this. Her orange and white tail flicked behind her slowly as her light blue eyes continued to search the land. She trusted only the leopards that she ran into. All of them were nice. Other creatures seemed to have a mean streak, at least in Kalama's life.
The sudden sound of something in a bush made the female jump. Her eyes quickly darted towards the bush. A small rabbit jumped out and Kalama sighed a little. Nothing to worry about. "Just calm down, Kalama. Get a hold of yourself." The words calmed her down somewhat, but she still remained on edge the slightest bit.

Finally she had time away from the cubs. They were older now and she felt they could take care of themselves for the most part. Besides, the nannies were always around to keep her precious cubs safe. It seemed none of them loved her, of course, the feeling was mutual. Akeldama simply used her cubs and their king. Her blood red eyes glanced around. Now, she was searching for food for the pride. Anything for them to eat. A rabbit ran in front of the female, but she simply ignored it. She'd let her cubs kill that, if they wanted to. Akeldama only went for the big kills. The things that would challenge her and feed the whole pride with one simple kill. As the lead hunter, she had to be the one to bring home the big kills.
Akeldama loved her position in the pride. She got to kill just about whatever she pleased. Also, she had a reason to ditch her cubs whenever they were getting on her last nerves. They always seemed to be fighting with one another, which she loved, but not all the time... especially when one got hurt.

The land slowly turned rougher and became dusty and dry. Kalama hated this land. It was too dry for her taste, she'd rather be in a spot full of lush green and water. Her white fur slowly turned to a light brown color from the dirt and dust she stirred. Silence surrounded the female, which drove her crazy, so she began to hum to herself. A nice, upbeat melody that would brighten anyone's day, or at least that's what Kalama thought. Her pace quickened slightly with the song and her tail flicked behind her at the beat of the song. When she had cubs, Kalama planned to hum this little melody to them as they fell asleep every night. Maybe they would grow up and hum it to their children. Kalama then tried to think of words to put with the melody, but was interrupted by something.
Her head lifted a little and the humming stopped. She sniffed the air then lowered her head and sniffed the ground. Where was she? On the edge of someone's pride it seemed. Kalama looked around then decided to trail away from the pride's land a little, she didn't move away too far. Maybe they were a leopard pride...

What was that obnoxious sound?! Akeldama's ears flicked towards the humming of the sound. Humming? Who on earth would be humming in this pride? Her blood red eyes quickly dashed around the land. The suddenly landed on a small, white leopard. A small smirk appeared on the cheetah's face as she quickly moved over to a bush near the path the leopard was taking. Quietly, Akeldama crouched down while keeping a close eye on the leopard. That leopard was so much smaller than king Thona, even for a female she was small. Maybe she wasn't fully grown. Dama's smirk grew a little. Perfect. This would be an easy kill. She watched as the other female sniffed the air then the ground. Obviously Thona marked somewhere near where the female sniffed.
A rabbit suddenly came out of it's home, which was in the bushes. The bush Dama was hiding behind shook slightly, causing the leaves to smack into one another. That female would hear it and get away! Stupid rabbit. It moved around a little more, causing the bush to shake slightly. Akeldama curled her tail next to her body and glared at the rabbit, causing it to quickly run back to it's home.

Kalama jumped at the sound of the bush suddenly moving. "It is nothing, Kalama. Calm down. Just another little rabbit." She told herself with a sigh of relief. Her light blue eyes watched the bush for a second before they moved back towards whatever was in front of her, which was... nothing. This place seemed deserted, minus the rabbits. Where was everyone? Kalama sighed a little, hoping her pride wouldn't be this deserted whenever she created it. Her eyes closed for a moment to picture her pride. Bright greens and a lake or something full of water. Beautiful rivers would flow through it and leopards would cover the place. She smiled and flicked her tail as she walked with her eyes closed. Everyone in her pride would get along and treat each other as if they were family members. Cubs would roll on the hills and play with the flowers. Every kill would be used completely or what they didn't use would be buried.
Her eyes slowly opened and she looked around, sad to realize that she was still stuck in this horrid place. She sighed slightly. "One day..." Suddenly she felt something large slam into her and Kalama fell onto the hard ground as dust flew into the air. Her eyes widened and she wiggled, but was stuck under this huge, black creature.

Right as the other female passed the bush and seemed off guard, Akeldama pounced. She threw her large body against the other then pinned her down quickly. Dust flew everywhere, hiding the two in a cloud of smoke. If only Dama's cubs were here, she'd teach them how to play with your food before killing it. Her blood red eyes stayed glued on the female with a glare. She growled slightly with a snarl to scare the younger female. "What are you doing in king Thona's pride?!" This female sure didn't belong in the pride. Akeldama didn't know everyone, but knew for sure this female wasn't one of the members. Something about her didn't seem right. Her scent was one reason, but something else just stuck out. This leopard wasn't the brightest of the bunch it seemed. She let her guard down while around another pride! How stupid.
As the dust settled, Akeldama got a better look at the other female's face. She was obviously a leopard. The fear in the other's eyes almost brought a smile to Dama's face, but she kept her glare and snarl well placed. "Answer me!" She yelled at the other, digging her claws slightly into the other.

Kalama freaked out, wiggling against the other. Where did the other come from? The voice gave away the fact that the one pinning her down was a female. The leopard looked up to the one growling at her as the dust settled around them. It was a black cheetah who looked as though she was ready to kill Kalama. "Get off me!" Kalama cried out, then wiggled furiously against the other female's grip. This didn't help with the fear Kalama had for cheetahs. Her light blue eyes looked up towards the other's blood red eyes. She didn't look friendly in any way. Two scars were over the cheetah's nose. Was this why she was so grumpy? Did someone attack her and cause her to be this way? No, she must have started the fight, just like this little conflict at the moment. She started it and got scratched. "I'm sorry, I'll leave once you get off me. I was just walking around." Kalama tried to get on the other's good side so she would let Kalama free.
Kalama tried to look for a way to get away from this other female. Maybe she could wiggle her way loose. Or she could try to attack the other. No, that wouldn't work. The other's claws digging into Kalama made her tense a little. Was she going to die? No, no. This female would let her free... hopefully.

Akeldama watched the other struggle for a moment. Of course this would do the other no good, except make her tired. "Your wasting your energy." She said with a sigh. Maybe an easy kill wouldn't be as fun as Akeldama thought. "You are over dramatic." Akeldama said then dug heer claws in a little more. Little by little, Akeldama was growing annoyed and bored. Maybe she'd bring this leopard to her cubs... no then king Thona would want to keep her as a member of the pride and Dama couldn't stand having this female in the pride. She'd give it a bad name. "I don't think I will be letting you free, especially with your lack of thinking." Finally, Akeldama had reached the last straw. She had grown too bored and was ready to just end this. An idea hit the cheetah female and she smirked a little.
In one swift motion, Akeldama lifted her large red paw then let her claws slash against the other female wherever they landed. The clawed the white female's cheek and left a little blood on Dama's claws. She ignored the white female for a moment to lick the blood off her paw. Hopefully this would make the leopard more interesting.

Kalama wasn't quite as dumb as the other thought she was. As Akeldama began to lick the blood off her paw, Kalama looked around for a way to get loose. The other only had one paw holding Kalama down. She couldn't possibly be strong enough to hold her down with only one paw, right? With that thought still stuck in her head, Kalama lifted one of her white paws then let her claws meet with the other's throat. When Akeldama was busy with her pain, Kalama ran for her life in any direction she could. She didn't look back once to see where Akeldama was. All Kalama wanted to do was get away from the other. Hopefully this wouldn't lead to Kalama's death. "Wait... she's a cheetah." Kalama said to herself and her light blue eyes widened. She ran faster and glanced behind her to see where the cheetah was. The leopard couldn't die, not now. She needed to find a safe place for her sister and all the other hurt leopards out there to go! They needed someone to look up to and someone to help guide them. She couldn't die now, especially with her possible killer being a cheetah.

Akeldama enjoyed the blood of the other until pain suddenly struck her. She growled at the other as she took off. "What a fool." The cheetah said before taking off after her as fast as she could. Running after her prey was what Akeldama did best. Her blood red eyes stayed locked on the white leopard. Her red and black legs carried her quickly through the land. The positive thing about the dry land was that it was easy to see one's prey and it was easy to move on the dry dirt. Dama's claws gripped the ground a little as she ran and her back legs pushed her off as she ran, causing her to run faster. She quickly caught up to the white and orange leopard. Her red eyes then glanced around towards where the leopard was running to. She was heading further and further away from the pride land, which was what Akeldama wanted.

Being small and younger was no benefit to Kalama. She glanced back and saw the cheetah right on her tail. Kalama picked up the pace a little, not wanting to give up on this fight. Her eyes darted around as she tried to think of a way to out run this older, bigger cheetah. It seemed all the odds were against Kalama on this one. "Don't give up. Don't give up!" Kalama told herself while running. She lowered her head and ran a little faster, giving the leopard a small amount of space away from the cheetah. Maybe another leopard would come along and help Kalama... Nope. This land was deserted. Kalama was on her own with this one. Her breath was quick and shallow. Slowly, Kalama was growing tired, but still wouldn't give up on this fight. She wouldn't let herself die at the paws of a cheetah.

Akeldama chased the little leopard for only a moment longer before growing bored and realizing that this was getting her and the pride no where. The leopard was far out of range of the pride. All this was doing was wasting Akeldama's energy. Precious energy she could be using to catch the pride something worth eating. This leopard wasn't worth her time at all. At this thought, Akeldama slowed down then came to a stop before turning back towards where her pride was located. She needed to get food for herself and her cubs. Also, the pride members would probably look for food from her. Whatever the pride needed, she would try to provide... as long as she was treated greatly in return, which she usually was. It was an easy job being the lead hunter. Just get the pride some food then be treated well by most others in the pride.

Kalama ran further then noticed the other female had stopped. She gave up on the fight! Kalama was still alive. She looked herself over, completely forgetting about the scratches on her cheek until now. The wounds began to sting her slightly, but she was too happy to pay much attention to them. She was alive! Was the female going to come back after her? Was the cheetah simply playing a game with Kalama's mind? Playing a trick on Kalama? With those thoughts in her head, Kalama turned back towards the way she was running and ran further away. The cheetah wouldn't trick her! No, she wouldn't be a fool and just let this cheetah easily attack her. As soon as she was a safe distance away from the black and red cheetah, Kalama slowed to an easy walk. Her heart was racing in her chest and her tail flicked behind her.

Akeldama looked towards the pride to see if anyone saw what just happened. Luckily, no one was around. She simply smirked and sighed a little. Her blood red eyes glanced back towards the white leopard who was running then slowed to a walk. The cheetah turned towards her pride and shrugged her shoulders. At least they didn't have to worry about trespassers. Maybe that female would tell her family or friends to keep away from this place. If Thona wanted more members, he could go out and get them... or let one of the other females have his cubs. Dama figured she'd have cubs when she felt good and ready to have cubs and she already knew the very leopard who would be the father of the brats she'd produce. Her eyes shot back towards the leopard. None of her cubs would turn out to be like that.

Kalama sighed, happy to be far away from that cheetah. She now knew that her pride must come to be a reality. It would be a place to be safe and feel at home. Not only would this be for her sister and other leopards around, but for herself and if she ever wanted to start a family, it would be for them. She smiled at the thought of a family then looked around slowly before heading off towards where she was running. There had to be some land that she could claim as a pride somewhere. Somewhere far away from here where her pride members didn't have to worry about creatures like that cheetah.
