Category 1: EloquenceSummary: Judges will each come up with questions for the contestants. Contestants will need to answer these as fully and articulately as they can. Judges' QuestionsQuote: Flutter1: Doing the right thing. What do you think about that? 2: A hero is a man who takes responsibility for his own actions, and tries to improve himself. What sort of self improvement do you participate in? 3: Why should you be King? Quote: RabidOkay all my questions are to be answered in character Numero uno! What's the most embarassing thing that has ever happened to you? I wanna hear somethin' juicy boys! Numbah deaux! What's your favorite memory of yours truely (if you don't know me than make up something but you better make it good!) And finally... What do you plan on doing for me once you're made king? I mean you really can't expect my vote if I can't expect to get a little special treatment eh? Quote: Junni(Questions to be answered in character) 1. Strength is an admirable trait to have among men. What do you consider to be your greatest strength and why? 2. A true man can also admit to his faults and/or weaknesses. What would you say is your greatest weakness and why do you deem it so? 3. Hohoho, this one is more for me, than you. Following my lovely lady Rabid's lead, here... name your fondest memory about/with me. *grins* If you barely know me, feel free to make something up as to what you think would be a great memory with me, haha! Quote: Keeta1. Describe an experience you dealt with in the past, that while difficult, in the end caused you to come out better on the other end for it. 2. What is the one dream for your life you most look forward to having come true? 3. When do you feel the most afraid? Entrant ResponsesKyoQuote: Flutter2: A hero is a man who takes responsibility for his own actions, and tries to improve himself. What sort of self improvement do you participate in?In the past, I've been an a**. Well, more so then nowadays. I was a womanizer, a thief, a murderer, anything that I felt like being at the time. Over the years, I've realized that only breaking things, doesn't help anyone for more than the five minutes that you think it's fun. I've tried to make Mystic's my rebirth. I've toned down on the womanizing -- with a little help from Rabid's stiletto's. I've dropped my weapons, aside from the occassional fight in the ring. And I've stood up numerous times to stop people from trashing Mystic's like I would've done in the past. Call it age, call it cowardice, I don't care. I'm changing from my old life.RabidNumbah deaux!
What's your favorite memory of yours truely (if you don't know me than make up something but you better make it good!)While being the most painful, I think my favorite memory was the very first match I had with Rabid in the supermarket parking lot. It was dark night and the double coupon Sunday Sale just ended, so we were pretty much alone. Needless to say, as a bakeneko versus a kitsune, she was severely outmatched. Hell, even some passing customers thought so as a few shoved shopping carts at her. But no, this woman wouldn't quit. I guess, I had chided her a bit too many times, but I always loved her fiery temper. And her a**. By god, that's a nice a**. Well, as distractions go, and as most people who watched the fight were aware, I got a little too "distracted" and Rabid happened to land one of her few attacks, but made it count. And even better, that while I was on the ground, tossing my lunch and trying to remember how to stand, I get sidewiped in the head by a passing soccer mom in a minivan. Or it might've been Josh... those two were dating at the time. Needless to say, I lost the match, but it was fun as hell, and something I won't forget anytime soon.Junni1. Strength is an admirable trait to have among men. What do you consider to be your greatest strength and why?My greatest strength probably lies in my ability to always smile. As a cat, I have a heightened since of pride, which would make you think I would be easy to insult and get a rise out of. Well, my pride is on a level that most normal insults won't touch. The petty "Momma" joke that rile up your common mortals don't faze me, nor do physical threats or shows of machismo. I find people who have to resort to that sort of thing to get things to go their way are annoying and only the slightest bit humorous. But not just smiling at potentially violent situations, I can also smile at even potentially embarrassing situations. Like when I lost a bet with Keeta and had to dress as a girl for a week. Despite, the thoughts that some of the other guys at Mystic's might laugh or poke jabs at me, I did it any with a smile. I also found out I shapechange into a girl for that time too, so I kinda cheated, sorry Keeta!
Jokes and insults aside, a smile is most commonly what people need to see when they're feeling bad, so I try my best to support them. While I can't understand the pain people go through sometimes with losing family members or getting sick, I can atleast give them a smile to try to help them cheer up.Keeta1. Describe an experience you dealt with in the past, that while difficult, in the end caused you to come out better on the other end for it.We've gone over how I'm a womanizer... well formerly so, but how many of you knew I had kids. Yeah, like a true cat, I've wound up with I think seven or so as of the last count. Well, only three of them were from a woman I knew and loved. Two of them, a set of twins, were actually from the sister of previously mentioned woman. Drunk cat and attractive women don't mix, I know. Well, needless to say, that caused a major rift between me and a majority of of my in-laws. I could've just turned away and left them, but it'd be bad to just leave kids that were rightfully mine. I wound up fighting tooth and claw with my wife, her sister, and an army of uncles, even my mother and father-in-law. And yes, I mean seriously fighting, I still have the scars from that encounter. In the end, they finally conceded, while they didn't like what I did to their daughter, they respected my will to be responsible for the kids. That and it annoyed them that I wouldn't die. But to this day, I have a good relationship with most of my kids, and some of my in-laws. And I plan on keeping it that way. Dakaiden 1: 2: 3: 4: Matt BlueQuote: Flutter1: Doing the right thing. What do you think about that?Well, Matt is not a perfect person... He's not a goodie two-shoes, either. His main idea with doing the right thing is to partake in actions that will not hurt anyone else around him. Certain exceptions CAN be made, as long as they don't involve taking something from them intentionally... Stealing or killing is bad. This basically covers all my moral bases, and keeps me from being a flat-out jerk... Unless someone deserves it. However, I am still a very flawed person, so don't take it as some perfect law. Humans who are imperfect invented laws, so laws must be flawed as well.RabidNumbah deaux!
What's your favorite memory of yours truely (if you don't know me than make up something but you better make it good!)That would have to be the auction! Don't remember the auction? It was for Rabid's... Umm... Shoes! Remember it now? I won them good... And I will always be able to keep them as a momento of the old days with Rabid, filled with many memories. <3 Of course, the bloody things don't fit me, so I guess memorabilia is the only thing I can use them for.Junni2. A true man can also admit to his faults and/or weaknesses. What would you say is your greatest weakness and why do you deem it so?Greatest weakness would be my own lack of independence. I have a hard time pressing my opinion, even in situations where I know I am right. In the worst case, I can't even press forth my opinions in debates or arguements, without someone around to help or back me up. I have a hard time relying on myself when I lack any form of support. If I were cut off from my friends for about a week, I'd probably end up trying to eat my own skin.
Omity nom nom.Keeta1. Describe an experience you dealt with in the past, that while difficult, in the end caused you to come out better on the other end for it.Probably when I moved from Canada to Ohio. I practically changed who I was as a person entirely during that incident. Although I used to be extremely self centered, I spent about a month in a house with a bunch of people I hated, and not a single distraction. This obviously gave me a lot of time to reflect on a lot of things. I became a lot less aggressive, and much more withdrawn afterwards. It kinda flipped my entire personality.I hope it made me more likable, since I don't get into fistfights anymore...
More importantly, however, I started to hate Relish and like mustard... It was always the other way around. Shin 1: 2: 3: 4: WoodzQuote: Flutter #1Doing the right thing is a subjective matter. One person's idea of doing the right thing may be to walk away from a problematic situation while another's is to do something about it. In basics, doing the right thing is the reason for acting and each person's concept of it can vary greatly from the previous.Rabid #1The most embarrassing time I can remember was one of my first days at the Sr. High school I used to go to. I was a Sophomore at the vending machine buying a snack cause I was unusually hungry that morning. All of a sudden, a Senior walks up behind me and hugs me for no reason. I would've been much more embarrassed if I wasn't totally confused. Once I sorted things out in my mind, that's when it hit me. I thanked God that only a handful of people saw it. I spent the rest of that morning tucked away in the library.Jen-til #2
One of my biggest faults is my short temper. It has gotten me into much trouble in the past, as you can see the scars on my face. I once mouthed off to someone better than me about swordsmanship and in turn he insulted me. In my anger, I challenged him to a duel and ultimately lost. I was lucky that he chose to spare my life.
Keeta #3
I feel most afraid in dark, unfamiliar places when I'm all alone. This meaning that I'm fine in places like my bedroom when there is no light but a place like a forest during the night creeps the hell out of me. Also, I must be alone. If I'm with someone then I don't feel scared. I also can't be carrying a light source like a flashlight or a lantern. I know I shouldn't feel this way but it's something that I just can't help. BackflipQuote: Flutter
Question 3: Why should you be King?*puts on his +3 to arrogance cap*
I am the Backflip. I'm the fearless leader of Mystic Nights since its inception over five years ago. I've created three fight systems and crowned many champions. I've invented more match types and hosted more tournaments than I can remember. I introduced the world to Robby and the Gearheads. I expanded into Mystics West and Mystics Grand. I created several games based off the basics of the fight system, from a sport to a bounty hunting game. I've made good friends with the patrons of Mystics Nights, from newcomers like Flutter to life-longers like Keets. I think it would be fair of me to say that my accomplishments should earn me the crown. It's good to be the Backflip... and the King.Junni
Question 3: Hohoho, this one is more for me, than you. Following my lovely lady Rabid's lead, here... name your fondest memory about/with me. *grins* If you barely know me, feel free to make something up as to what you think would be a great memory with me, haha! It was cold that night. Seven of us followed our fearless commander into that godforsaken pit of hell. Only you and I remained. Mortars seemed to explode everytime we even considered rushing for the door. Communications were servered. Food and ammunition were exhausted. We didn't know if we would even live to see the morning. Embracing tightly for warmth, we stared into each others eyes. The world seemed to freeze for a moment as the space between our lips closed to the width of an angel's hair. Then the screaming, the ungodly screaming. The explosions increased and the sounds of screaming pierced our very souls. Men, women and children, their every utterance conveying the torment of every ring of Hell itself. Eyes shut tight, we held each other closer as the shack was rocked by sound and light. Then, as quickly as it started, it was gone. The silence was nearly as terrifying as the screaming. Darkness enveloped everything, silence it's anthem. The door slowly creaked open, casting a blinding light across us. In terror we we tried to see through the light, but could only make out a small, rotund silhouette. Our hearts raced when our eyes adjusted and we saw there our salvation: Pudge. Drenched in the blood and entrails of our enemies, our commander had returned to save us.
I don't remember much of the helicopter ride back out of there, but I still, to this day, wonder what may have happened had Pudge rescued us just a few moments later...Keeta
Question 2: What is the one dream for your life you most look forward to having come true? That would have to be the publication of my novels. For many years I've been writing and I have so much floating around my head that I'm trying to get on paper. To see work come to life between the hard covers would be a dream come true. To see illustrations added would even further increase my joy. But, even above that, to see it all spring to life on the big screen would finish my life with a happy ending.
I love writing and have so many stories to tell, so above all else (save for marrying the girl of my dreams) I want to see my works published.Rabid
3: What do you plan on doing for me once you're made king? I mean you really can't expect my vote if I can't expect to get a little special treatment eh?Well, I had planned to keep this a secret but.... since you asked...
When I become King, I will be celebrating the one person that got me there: Rabid. Starting small, I'll be naming a drink after you at the bar. It'll be my own Flippy twist on the Cosmo, simply called "The Rabid." Of course bar sales will soar once I unveil it, people traveling from all around to grab a "Rabid on the Rocks," or a "Rabid with a lime" or even the rare "Virgin Rabid." Next up, I'll be starting the Rabid Rumble Tournament. Young, muscley, virile men will be battling each other for your entertainment, the winner receiving the honor of becoming your personal valet and servant. After that, the Gearheads will be going on their Worldwide Rabid Tour, with Jeff debuting his new single "My Rabid, My Love." Lastly, I'll be re-opening Mystics Grand Casino as Mystics Rabid Hotel and Casino. The highest rollers will be shooting their craps on your tables. The biggest pockets will be playing with your slots. The top of the tops will be dropping their balls on your roulette wheel. The hardest players will be dining on your buffets! Mystics Rabid Hotel and Casino! VintrictQuote: Flutter1: Doing the right thing. What do you think about that?To me, doing the right thing is doing something for the favor of keeping some sort of peace, along with making sure I don't have my conscious yelling at me every other hour. You see, I was raised as a man with morals, so when something is out of place that I have the method of fixing, I am obligated to take that method, thus doing the right thing. If I see someone drop money on the street, I could easily pick it up and claim it as mines. But I don't because it is not mine and I picture a situation when that person finds out that they lost said money. Whether it is needed or not, I know it's the right thing, to me, to return that money. It is not mines. Another example would be if someone needed help carrying their bags to the car. You can call it common courtesy, but I call it just me being a nice person to walk up and offer my help.
So in summary, doing the right thing is all about keeping with my morals and helping make the world just a little bit better.Rabid3. What do you plan on doing for me once you're made king? I mean you really can't expect my vote if I can't expect to get a little special treatment eh?To tell you the truth, I have no idea what I will do if I became king. I do not know what the role of a Mystic Nights King is other than being some figurehead nor did I picture some type of ruling involved. To me, this contest is to see how I compare against others in the many categories presented. Whether I win or lose, I will be happy to at least gain that experience.
But, assuming I do become king, I suppose I will give you a smile every day, eh?Junni2. A true man can also admit to his faults and/or weaknesses. What would you say is your greatest weakness and why do you deem it so?Oh man, this one's a given. Women. I cannot stress that enough. Women are and always will be my weakness. They are the pinnacle of my existence. My chivalry for them knows no bounds. Just their existence alone causes me to feel warm inside whenever I am associating myself with a woman. However, the woman's appearance and personality must be beautiful in order for me to consider them as a weakness. Otherwise, I am not as affected. But the right woman can bring me to my knees.
Keeta
3. When do you feel the most afraid?
I feel the most afraid when there's a possibility of me dying without having done something that would be remembered. Changing the world is something people only claim as fantasies, but for me, changing some important aspect will be enough to make me satisfied. Should it be from causing a revolution to simply making a person lead a better life, I'll be happy. Kizu Pantera 1: 2: 3: 4:

Judges' Responses: Jen-Til Kyo...
Flutter's answer: 4
Decent sense of humor despite dealing with a more serious question, I'd say. Determination to change is certainly admirable...
Rabid's answer: 5
Can't get much better than that. Though he didn't win, he learned from the experience and enjoyed himself, regardless of the outcome. Having such a detailed memory of such an event is also taken into consideration, showing just how much he cares for that particular moment. And any appreciator of a fine a** deserves a good score.
My answer: 4
Everyone loves a good smile and being able to smile in the most difficult of situations...well, that's a hard thing to accomplish.
Keeta's answer: 3
I understand his womanizing past plays a big part in everything he's done and has certainly changed him, but family qualms involving issues with such, while I'm sure things were difficult, to me...I just feel that not everything should revolve around that lone aspect of his past. I was hoping to hear a different tune instead of this one vital flaw he's focused on the entire time...
Total: 16/20, though, your thing says the total can only be 15. So, I'm confused. In any case, if I have to just pick an AVERAGE score for all his answers, I'd give him a 4, I'd say... And since I wasn't sure what kinda scoring process you were doing, I figured I'd tell you my score in any sense and you can pick whichever is the correct method or whatever. Sorry, Flippy. XD
Daka: No score, no answers. Bleh.
Matty...
Flutter's: 3
It was hard to grasp the main part of his answer since he threw in some "logic" that, to me, was...unnecessary for his response.
Rabid's: 3
Haha, a shoe auction...very cute. Pity they don't fit. May I try them on? I do so love a fashionable pair of shoes. <3
Mine: 3
Eating own skin is bad. Admitting to the inability to be independent = admirable. Omnomnom.
Keet's: 3
Matty's so cuuutteee...and all this talk on eating yourself and the mustard and stuff...now, I'm hungry. XP But reflection is good. So yay.
Total: 12/20 (or averaged to 3) - While I find Matty to be adorable and certainly honest, his answers were simply neither here nor there. They didn't really stand out but they weren't overly lacking, either...hence, a middled score...
Shin: No answers, no score. Boo.
Woodz...
Flutter: 2
While I agree that it's more of a perspective on situations that determine what one may think is right and how it varies from what another may think is right - he didn't quite answer as to what HE personally feels about the subject and doing the right thing or not, or at least...in his MIND what is right and what's not...
Rabid: 3
While certainly embarrassing, without many witnesses to the random...act...it hardly seems something overly note-worthy in one's past. Then again, maybe that's just ME talkin' since I've experienced things far more note-worthy. *cough* But also the reaction to the situation is a bit disappoint. To be "accosted", basically, then just sorta...freeze then hide away...eh, doesn't seem very impressive. :/
Me: 3
I don't have the best temper, myself. Many can attest to that. *hopes no one will* XD While it IS fortunate the guy spared your life, one can only hope you've LEARNED from such an experience and have tried to work on such a flaw. Which I see little mention of. A bit of a lacking response, in my opinion, but I get the idea...
Keets: 3
I'd be scared if I was alone in the woods, in the dark, too. But that fear wouldn't rattle me too much. Since I've been in that situation before, I KNOW how I'd respond to it. Yay, me. As for you? At least you owned up to it and that's appreciated but not much of a weakness since it's only natural for just about anyone to feel that way in such a situation...
Total: 11/20 (averaged to 3) - Many of his answers were so short that they were lacking in some of the wit or charm or simply DETAIL I'd have liked to have seen in such a candidate.
Flippy...
Flutter: 4
I appreciate the humor, most certainly. Always have. And the things you've done for this place HAVE been impressive. Very much so. It's good to be the Flipster. rofl But we'll see about the "King" part. *grins*
Me: 5
*a lump forms in her throat* Amen to that. Don't think I can muster up anything else to say but...Amen. *nods*
Keets: 4
An admirable goal, indeed! Being a fan of all forms of art and literature, I support such a dream. Haha, and the family man dream was a nice touch, too. Very reasonable, down-to-Earth answer, I must say.
Rabid: 4
Any woman would be blown away by such lavish treatment. I must say, I'd be jealous. rofl But very well said, m'dear. Very extravagant ideas...and creative, at that.
Total: 17/20 (averaged to 4) What can I say? I dig the cut of your jib. You have style, no doubt, and answered every individual question with enthusiasm. Not perfect, naturally, but still very, very good answers, I'd say.
Vin...
Flutter: 3
I'm glad you explore what doing the right thing MEANS to you and how you'd respond in situations, but the scenarios weren't necessary to get the point across, making the answer just seem like a bit of babbling. But a man with morals is something to consider. :3
Rabid: 4
Ahh, a humble answer. Fufufu, clever, clever. It works. XP Smiles are pleasant and saying you'd enjoy the experience regardless of the outcome, well, that's sweet. Certainly. As long as you mean it. :'D
Me: 4
Women as a weakness? I seem to hear that a lot...but expressing it has to be the RIGHT woman, with inner AND outer beauty to effect you, well...I s'pose that changes it a little bit. *quirks a brow* But still, I'm not overly impressed with the answer since a strong woman in all aspects is a dangerous thing to anyone...*taps her claw-like nails against the table before her as she leans forward* Which we judges, I do believe, are just that. *winks*
Keets: 3
Everyone feels accomplished when they make a change in...well, anything noticeable. Wanting to accomplish something before you die is something everyone should hope for, whether they admit to it or not. I thank you for VOICING such, but, again...find your answer somewhat lacking since I view it as quite a general response...nothing that really screams out at me to pick you, but...not something to dismiss, either.
Total: 14/20 (rounded to 3.5) - While I like his humble nature and honesty, some of the questions...the answers just seemed to generalized, to me. Nothing that really "wows" me and I DO need to be wow'd...
Kizu: No answers, no score. Rawr.
I hope that's good enough. Or not too much...or...something. gonk

1. While I can't understand the pain people go through sometimes with losing family members or getting sick, I can atleast give them a smile to try to help them cheer up. Keeta 1. Competition Coverage!Category 2: Styleicebrat King of Mystic Nights Competition - Part 2 - StyleQuote: Style - Entrants will present their best warrior look. Points will be awarded for creativity, overall theme, and just plain coolness. Time to get your "Game Face" on. Show us your best warrior look. We want to see you ready to put your competition in a WORLD OF HURT twisted Since I don't really want to see how good you are at using tektek, I'm going to ask each of the competitors to: 1. Make a post in Mystics while wearing your warrior look 2. PM icebrat with the page number it appears on 3. Check page #1....... I will put pics of your avi there (please do not change your avi until it appears) Entries must be posted in Mystics BEFORE 11:59pm Gaia time on April 18, 2009 Entries: Vintrict Vintrict Entry for the warrior portion of the contest. My Monk of Atlantis. Let the power of the ancient magics guide my hands to my enemies and bring forth blessings to my allies.
xd woodz dragon woodz dragon This is my Entry for the Warrior portion of the KoM. The Dark Angel Knight. "I was once you're typical Knight in Shining Armor, rescuing Princess locked away in far-off towers, fighting off Dragon, Evil Wizards/Witches and what not. However, after the hundredth Princess brushed me off to go marry some Pretty-Boy Prince I finally had enough. Risking death on a regular basis for some ungrateful b%&ch was just getting to be too much. So now, I'm the one doing the kidnapping. What really makes this new job so much fun is watching Prince Charming come all the way to my doorstep to rescue his Girl, only to get his a** handed to him by none other than me. Where's your Knight in Shining Armor now Princess? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Kyosuke Hisake Kyosuke Hisaki Oh right the entry: "Ever seen a cat demon pissed off? Well you probably haven't if you're still alive. But I knew a guy once... liked to think of himself as some big game hunter. Well, the poor sap got tired of normal hunts and decided to go to a few a bit shadier. So I took him to a contact of mine who had some hands in otherworldy things. Out of all of the hits he had, a soul-sucking succubus, a shapeshifter, vampires, werewolves, my friend chose this rather demure-looking cat demon. I had wondered why my contact was so adamant against him choosing that one, and why such a small cat was classified as an A-Rank kill. Well, anyway, I helped the guy track down this cat. He seemed pretty nice when we found him, he didn't seem all that concerned, one way or another, that there was a hit put out on him; however, the dragon girl with him did warn us he wasn't in the mood to play. I should've taken the hint then. I should've told my friend not to draw his gun, let alone shoot the cat demon in the eye. If only I'd stopped him... but it was too late. I can still remember that night. The blood, the fire... oh god I can still even remember the screams. Most of them were mine since my friend's throat was ripped out too quickly for him to scream all that much." -Pablo, Infernal Imp of the Third Circle Backflip I guess I'll use this as my entry. Flip, King of the Valkyries. Backflip Actually, the Valkyries had a lot of ties to men. Odin, for one, was their ruler and they were known to be the lovers of heroes... Heroes like Backflip. Backflip While the Valkyrie themselves were all female, I never said I was a Valkyrie; just their King. I was assigned their commander by Odin himself. Backflip Okay... so I'm less their liege and more their mascot...: sweatdrop They gave me the armor and tolerate my presence so long as I amuse them and fetch them food and drink. Happy? emo Backflip Gracias. I hope Brat includes my little mascot speech in my entry. Matt Blue Some warriors prefer to fight head to head. Some prefer to fight through more deceptive measures. However, one thing rings true for all warriors; If you can maintain an intimidating facade while wearing all purple, you have a remarkable talent. Matt is most definitely in the latter category of fighters; Rather then fighting in a head-to-head, aggressive fashion, he prefers a more evasive, defensive approach. Aiming to strike the opponent's weak points while they are distracted or unable to avoid the blow, the fox specializes in illusionary or deceptive magics; often disabling the opponent through a succession of weaker attacks.
