 Tara was once again off by herself, searching for something to do. This place was nice, but it was very boring. She missed her skater friends. And she wasn't too happy with whatever she'd turned into. She irritatedly stopped and looked at her paw again. Thankfully she'd kept her clothes but still...this was a real mess!
As the day grew on and she still had found nothing to do, she padded up a little trail, up onto a slightly high cliff, and looked out at the view. As boring as this place was, it did have its natural charm. The cool breeze, the thick green forests, the clear blue sky...a soft sigh left her mawl as she sat down and re-adjusted her wrist bands.

Oh, horror of horrors and forbidden of forbiddens! Little Nixxie had somehow managed to unwittingly wander out of the watchful eyes of two parents, a sister, a grandmother, and an uncle. She was quite alone.
Who knew doing things like wandering off of marked paths to sniff at unusual-looking flowers and crawl after bugs would get someone so utterly and incomprehensibly lost? Maybe Little Red Riding Hood's mother was onto something...
Nixxie, being Nixxie, hadn't even noticed this fact though. She was still pouncing after strange and unusual things and exploring. That was cool, and so was that, and wow, check that out, and...
Whoa! Look at that! A whole new lioness! With funny things draping off of her! Nixxie waggled a paw excitedly, then pranced right up to Tara.
"'Ello! Who you?" The young cub queried, eyes big.

Tara was snapped out of her thoughts as she heard a little voice somewhere nearby. She looked around until she spotted a tiny...a...a little baby? A kitten? She gently nudged the little thing with her paw curiously. Such interesting designs and colors.
"Hello cutie. My name's Tara." She couldn't help but smile, though a grin quickly replaced it. Sure the cub was cute, but she still had her attitude about her. "What's your name?"

"Empha---" Nixxie muttered as the paw tapped her. She batted back at it without claws, attention totally on getting it to back off and give her space.
So looking up in response to Tara's words was a little delayed. She stared a moment, taking time to let the words register. "'M Nixxie. Who you?" She replied and repeated, then looked back down at the offending paw.

Tara snorted as the cub batted at her paw. "I was just curious kiddo. No need to get testy there." She pulled her paw away, but gave the little thing a gently swat with her tail feathers. She then sat and watched the brightly colored cub.
"Once again, my name is Tara. I'm new here."

Nixxie started in a fit of giggles when the tail feathers hit her. Instead of swatting at those, she ducked down. Daddy did that! He always was accidentally knocking her with his big ol' tail!
"Tara Mnewere." Nixxie repeated, somehow having managed to pulverize Tara's last statement into making it a part of her name. "What can we do?" She jumped up, meaning to weave herself around the lioness's paws.

Tara chuckled as the cub giggled. That was cute. Though how she aquired a last name confused her. She tilted her head and played her sentence in her head, then laughed realising what Nixxie had done.
"Hmm...well you ever get into trouble? Go on adventures?"

"Trouble? Avenues?" Tara's brow wrinkled as she tried to comprehend those words. "Uncle Kae doesn't mean to cause trouble." She repeated something she'd heard one of the adults say, but she still hadn't a clue what that meant. "Do we really need it?" Probably a question from the same snippet of conversation.

"Uhhh...here." She knelt so the cub could get up to her back. It was more instinct than anything to do, but all well. Tara decided she'd show this little girl just what kind of fun she'd meant.
"Let's go play some games Nixxie."

"Games, yay!" That was something Nixxie comprehended. She bounded onto Tara's back and crawled under her shirt, coming out at top and wrapping her arms in Tara's fur at her neck, "I like games. I like tag and hide and seek and words and tickles and every game ever!"

"Gah!" She shuddered as the cub climbed under her shirt. That felt really weird. Once she was comfy on her back, Tara padded down the cliff and started to just wander for a bit. Now she needed to think of something that would not scare or hurt the little cub on her back.
"Hmmm...." She took off at a run. "Hold on!"

"Wheee!!!" Nixxie squealed, between her grip and being under the shirt, Nixxie had no thought of even falling off.
"What are we going to do! You are fast! Whee!"

"Here we go!" Tara ran at top speed, then jumped with all her might from one cliff to another. She landed hard on her feet.
"Whew! That was wicked!" She looked over her shoulder. "You ok?"

Nixxie squealed with each bound, at first ducking her head to hide, but then stepping up to feel the air in her face.
"NAH-UH!" She argued back, "Not wicked! Good! That was fun!" She wiggled her paws there on Tara, then snuffled into the back of her neck, giggling, "Tara-Mnewere is fastest and jumpiest! Yay!"
She worked around so she could peer at Tara's eyes, "Now what're we goin' t'do?"
