So, who here is excited for the next season of FMA? According to what I have heard (and feel free to correct me on this) the new series is coming out in Japan on April 5, 2009.
Please, discuss!

There's a season two?! eek You people need to tell me these things sooner.
[EDIT] Oh, found something about it on Wiki:
In the 20th volume of the manga, creator Arakawa announced that a second Fullmetal Alchemist anime television series is currently being produced. Bones would produce the new series with Yasuhiro Irie as director and Hiroshi Ōnogi as writer.[33][34] It was subsequently announced through various trailers on MBS and TBS's broadcasts of the Sunrise series Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and the series' official website, that the new series would premiere on April 5, 2009 on MBS-TBS' Sunday 5:00 pm JST anime timeblock, replacing Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and that voice actors Romi Park and Rie Kugimiya would reprise their roles as main characters Edward and Alphonse Elric respectively.[35] On March 20, 2009, it was announced that the English title of the series was Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and that it would receive its English language premiere on Animax Asia, with Japanese audio and English subtitles, from April 10, 2009 at 8:30 p.m, five days after its Japanese premiere.[1]

Yeah episode 1 is already out and subbed. You can see it here in both raw and subbed. I think the second link on the page is the subbed version and the first is the raw, not sure what the thrid one is.

I saw the subbed version tonight. It was amazing. Even if it is a bit different from the first series I still really enjoyed it.

I have a question. I was reading the subtitles of the verion I found on YouTube (a question of continuity). Perhaps a slight error in translation, but if Ed's already a State Alchemist in this series, why is Hughes acting surprised to meet him? I mean, at this point, they've already met.

Well, not necessarily. I mean, Ed could have just become a state alchemist and Hughes could not have met him for a while, because, as I recall, at the test to become a state alchemist in this series Hughes wasn't there.

does anybody here know anyone who's been in a hole on mars for the past few years and hasn't heard of fma before, but is watching Brotherhood now? this alternate universe for Ed is hard to judge for experienced fma'ers like us. personally, the series is moving a little fast, even if they're trying to compensate for us.

It's cool and all that they made a new 1 but it's just based off the Manga. They are re doing all of fma and just makin it with the Manga story line. crying

I'm so happy they redid the series and are mostly sticking to the manga this time because now Prince Lin(g) is in it now! Woo hoo!

They had the original studio redo the series from the beginning so that it followed the storyline of the manga more closely. Although I am a bit curious as to why they left the entire Yoki storyline out, but kept him in the series. maybe next season they will get to that. The only thing that really bugs me is how fast they are moving the story along.
