April Custom Into a Clutch!

Are you torn between really wanting a hatchling to grow adorably and getting that rider you just have to have? Do you not want to take the chance with your character? Do they have to have the color you want? Then this is your chance! April presents you the chance to custom your hatchling into a clutch. Essentially, that means that you'll get to participate in the Hatching and get an adorable little baby, but it will be entirely custom. On the flip side, you will NOT be getting a dragon with the personality designed by me/the staff, and you won't be getting those super long cool PMs we send everyone.

Customs are 50k this round, because they are growing.

Remember that you cannot custom a gold dragon. Everything else is up to
you, but we are more likely to pick characters that are not only plausible and
well-written, but interesting, too. Good luck to all that participate!

Also, your rider would come in as a Candidate if you win the custom, so bear that in mind in regards to age and what not. Good luck. <3

This contest closes next Saturday.

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: E’si (Erisi)

Age: 17

Sex: Male

Orientation: Still in denial

Rank: Jr. Weyrling

Physical Description: Dusty black hair curls down to his shoulders, though he usually ties it back in a loose ponytail, strands slipping loose to caress the side of his face. Bangs are usually parted in the center and pushed hastily to the side, some reaching down long enough to caress prominent cheek-bones. His eyes are a light blue, framed by thick, dark lashes. Light, barely perceptible freckles spot his cheeks and nose. His face is narrower than round, lips naturally dark to blend against his tanned skin. It makes his eyes stand out more, because while he is mostly consisted of darker colors, and usually wears darker clothing as well; his eyes are that almost grey-blue, standing out against his face. He's of an average height, strong shoulders and lean, firm muscles hidden under thin layers of clothing.

Personality: The likely initial opinion of anyone who had the pleasure to make acquaintances with Erisi is that he isn't a pleasant person. He has the habit of continually looking bored, irritated, or disinterested in what is going around him. He's not an open person at first, rather closed off until he can form a sort of judgment about the person. If he likes them, then he'll open up, if not, he'll act cold and distant until they leave him alone. Needless to say, he's highly judgmental, whether it be your clothes, looks, or attitude. He can usually develop an opinion within seconds, but occasionally tries to push past his first impressions, despite how horrid he is with them himself.

Despite seeming mean to mostly everyone, he is actually rather open and nice around the few friends he manages to make. He loves to gamble a little with spare marks, play games of throwing his friends into the weyr lake. He is rather outgoing at times, if properly coaxed and encouraged, and enjoys the occasional burst of childish play. But, he truly likes games that challenge him mentally, that make him think ahead and interpret his opponent's moves. He's fairly intelligent, so when it comes for the opportunity to stretch his mental prowess, he will gladly take it (he does take some pride in showing off his abilities, as well).

But, even to his friends, it is well known that he has a temper. A bad one. It seems as if anything can set him off, overhearing an insult, feeling generally offended, or if someone brings up his past exploits with men and try to prove that he clearly can't be straight if he's slept around with men. Erisi begs to differ, and firmly believes that his interest lies in women, so when someone wants to prove otherwise, some of Erisi's more vehement arguments can arise. It is something he is sensitive about, and it's a bad move to make prods at Erisi's sensitive points. Rarely do his arguments escalate into something physical, though. Usually it's sharp, heated insults before someone manages to step in and pull him out of his angered state.

History: He's holdborn and bred, a member of a rather large family, though his apprenticeship as a Harper separated him from the family environment, as he spent long hours learning. His future was looking bright as a Harper, since he had a decent singing voice, and a keen memory. His intelligence was something to note, though he often irritated the Masterharper with his somewhat superior attitude. It wasn't enough to ruin his apprenticeship, but it likely sharpened and tuned his argumentative abilities.

His first experience with the opposite gender was when he was fifteen, which was shortly followed by his first experience with someone of the same gender. At the time, the situation and sensation was new enough that he didn't care who it was, he enjoyed it. Only after did he reflect that most holdfolk were heterosexual, and convinced himself he was that wasy as well, despite repeated run-ins with other boys his age. After an encounter, he'd usually start ignoring the other boy, silently sending him the message that he was no longer interested. Eventually his interest died down, and he started avoiding those 'accidents'.

His arguments with the Journeyman Harpers and MasterHarper only seemed to escalate, until he became completely disinterested in the craft he was supposed to learn. Opportunity would have it that a Search was being held within Ista Hold, and Erisi was Searched. Eager to get away from the tension in his apprenticeship, he flew off that day with the Greenrider to Ista Weyr to begin his new life.

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Miith

Color: Green

Physical Description: Helfrichi’s Firefish <-- I’m thinking the white can be a white-green, the pink a light green, and the yellow a very vibrant green, but please, feel free to play with her to your pleasure. XD I’ll be pleased with the results.

Personality: Miith is a dragonet with one characteristic that glares at everyone blaringly in the face. She doesn’t like talking to her sisters, nor any other female dragon. She adores romping with the boys, chasing them around and rough-housing with them. Whether she is a plague to the boys or not is dependent on them, but she is attached to them by the wing tip. Girls, on the other hand, get no attention from her whatsoever. It is as if they are the plague to her, and she won’t give them a moment’s consideration when there’s a boy in the area. If it is just her and another female dragonet, she might glance to her or even say a greeting, but following that will be a stony silence, and eventually she’ll wander off to find someone more interesting (mainly a boy).

As she grows older, this will, to her rider’s dismay, transform into outrageously flirtatious behavior. Instead of rough-housing the boys, she’ll be putting all of her skills to the test to woo and win them over. Her behavior can even be considered intimidating, because when she spots a boy she likes, she’ll be sticking to him like glue, flirtatiously rubbing her neck against his, huddling close. If he moves away, it will only make her more determined in her pursuit of him. When she rises, it’s any male’s game, the first one to catch her wins, though she will silently be pleased if she manages to attract a large slew of male dragons. If not, she might mope around for a while before returning to her normally flirtatious behavior, with every male in Ista Weyr to suffer for it.

In Weyrling lessons, it’ll be up to E’si to do the learning, because Miith may very try the whole class-time to get one of the other boy dragonets to play or chat with her. It will also be up to E’si to keep her from wandering off in boredom, and this trait too will run into when she flies in a wing. She’s quick, but she will have a tendency to slip out of formation, so E’si will have to keep a close eye on her. But, when the situation gets serious, she’ll finally stop slipping off and pay attention. She loves E’si, and while she will tempt his disagreement occasionally, she’s happiest when he’s happy, and will do as she’s told to keep him happy.

She loves water, and will love to splash her classmates and their riders, E’si in particular. Swimming will be one of her healthier pleasures in life (other than endlessly pursuing after boys). She could spend many candles just lying in the shallow water, if her skin didn’t begin to feel uncomfortable after a while. Getting oiled will make her feel like a queen dragon, and in general she will view herself as perfect compared to the other girls. Stuck-up, flirtatious, and playful are the easiest and simplest ways to describe Miith.

Other: She generally views flitts as pests, and it doesn’t matter what gender they are, she’d rather they leave her alone, because clearly she is superior to them.

RIDER INFORMATION

Name: Talar

Age: 17 Turns

Sex: Female

Orientation: Heterosexual, possibly bisexual

Rank: Jr. Weyrling

Physical Description: Being neither tall and thin or short and stout, Talar falls somewhere around average height, and perhaps carries just a tad of extra weight. Still, she finds plenty to be vain about, chief of which is her hair. Long, straight, and bright red, she usually wears it down in a set of two carefully plaited braids resting over her shoulders. Her eyes are brown, and often contain a look that says very plainly ‘yes, I AM better than you’. Her mouth is small and a bit on the pouty side, and her complexion is fair with a smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose.

Personality: Talar has led a rather comfortable life, and it shows. With a haughty know-it-all attitude, she has few friends and is perfectly happy that way. Rude and fairly obnoxious, it’s a damn good thing that she’s skilled with a loom, or she would have been kicked out on her behind faster than a Flitt could gobble down a bite of food. It would be nice if it could be said that beneath her harsh exterior was a more kind and gentle Talar, but that is simply not true. Confident and comfortable in her place as a star weaver, it would take some life-changing to make Talar see the error of her isolating ways. As she stands though, she is quite content to be just as she is now, a hard-headed and rather self-absorbed teenager.

History: The only child of a wealthy merchant father and a doting mother, Talar was raised in a loving home with plenty of material things, which might just be the root of her bratty attitude. Given all the time in the world to indulge herself, Talar chose to excel in her education in hopes of being able to continue her opulent lifestyle. Finding that she had a talent for weaving after several tries at trying to pick the craft that will vault her to stardom, she convinced her parents to let her attempt to make her living as a weaver, and is now spending her time honing her craft and gossiping with the few minions friends she manages to keep around.

Pets: None

Other/Talents: Very talented at weaving and can be quite charming with words when she wants to be.

DRAGON INFORMATION

Name: Amaranth

Color: Green

Physical Description: The egg is of a normal size, the smooth shell a light pastel green, with varying shades of darker green forming splotchy patches and 'stripes' along the surface, much like a koi fish.

Personality: Amaranth is, in essence, the complete antitheses to Talar. Where her rider is haughty and, dare we say, a bit of a b***h, Amaranth is far more good-natured, and perhaps a little more high-strung. Constantly on the move, this Green just loves to chatter at anyone who can listen about anything that she sees, such as that colorful little bug she just got done chasing and oh my! Wasn't it just adorable that she was a Green, and Talar was wearing a green shirt? Underneath all that idle chatter though lies a dragon who sincerely loves her rider, and would do anything at all to ensure her happiness except give her some peace and quiet, because it's simply horrible how often Mine is alone, and everyone should be able to enjoy her presence! As much of an annoyance Amaranth's high energy might be to Talar, it makes her an eager participant during training exercises and serves as an excellent foil to Talar's more abrasive personality traits.

Other: Amaranth is not exactly the kind of dragon that Talar was imagining when she was brought to Ista Weyr with the possibility of Impressing, and as such, at first she may act ungrateful about her Green, but in the end, the plan is to have Talar and Amaranth come to depend upon one another and form a close bond that not even Talar herself may not understand the inner workings of.

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: Valiash
Age: 15
Sex: male
Orientation: It isn't certain yet. So far, Val isn't interested in anyone beside himself. It will probably be the type of the dragon he'll bond with (if he does) that'll suggest him who to look at, that side of his character will bloom pretty late.
Rank: Holder, playmate/companion to the Lord Holder's son. Also, currently a candidate.
Physical Description: Val is quite tall for his age, but other than that his body clearly shows that he was a courtly kid for his whole life. He's thin, delicate, and even though his body is in a good shape and does have some muscles, it's obvious that he never did any real hard work.
His hair is in a wheaty blonde color, and eyes deep blue. His skin is quite pale for a pernese - another proof of his upbringing.
Personality: The boy is spoiled. Muchly. If others are soft towards him, he'll eat them for breakfast. He needs a strict hand *and a beating or two might help xD* to straighten his 'better-than-thou' attitude. He has possibilities for quite a good person, actually - he follows the rules, and has that weird sense of righteousness deep inside...only buried under a deep layer of pride, and that's what most of the people see. He wouldn't take part in pranks, but also, at least at this moment in his life, wouldn't help the victim. Though, he's not above verbal abuse. That he's perfectly fine with. And uses. A LOT.
He sees himself as perfect in every aspect. He's the best. Everything he has is the best. And his dragon also will be the best. The fact that he didn't make an impression on his first try had shaken him quite a bit, and for a moment he was ready to leave the Weyr and go back home... But then he remembered about the eggs that still didn't hatch. And that made him wonder - that maybe in this clutch, there simply wasn't a dragon good enough for him. So he decided to stay, till his perfect dragon (that obviously will be a bronze) will show up.
History: From his youngest days Val was assigned as a companion to the Lord Holder's son. His main duty was to keep the boy entertained, and chase off any sign of boredom. So even though he was often told to remember that he's only there to serve the lord's son, the two of them were raised almost like brothers, resulting in Valiash feeling and acting like he himself was a young princeling.
But it wasn't left unnoticed. Till both boys were young, Val's attitude was overlooked, since the other boy was really attached to him. But lately, they were spending quite a lot of time apart, his friend being with his father most of the day, and him...
Alone.
And bored.
And can you believe it, they were actually trying to force him to do physical work. HIM! The nerve!
But that was it. He wasn't needed anymore as a playmate, So he needed to find another way to earn his keep... Only he himself didn't notice that.
Still, it was quite a surprise for everyone when he was Searched. And quite a relief to all interested sides.
Too bad Val himself didn't know that the real hard work is only going to start.
Pets: None, though he's sure he deserves a Firelizard. Preferably a gold, thankyouverymuch.
Other/Talents: Since his whole life he was keeping company to the lord's son, he has the same edcation, and the same proper manner... Too bad he rarely bothers to show them. He's also quite musical, and could do quite good with a harper's teaching, though he isn't really interested.
Picture: none, though I could attempt to scribble something up if it's needed?

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Irinth
Color: Green
Physical Description: Pattern-wise, she's based on the Bluehead Wrasse, with dark green at her lower side and head, and a layer of vivid light green spots on her back, plus a crest almost completely around her neck (excluding the part just in front) with layers: very dark green, very pale green, very dark green. The pale one still would have similar hue to the bright spots, only be much lighter.
Appearance-wise, she's small and seems to move bit slow, but that's mostly because she doesn't want to be noticed by others. Her wings are very large compared to her body size.
Personality: Irinth has quite an inferiority comlex. She's smaller than most of her siblings, her body is built weird, and she's certainly not as amazing as some of her siblings... Because of that, she doesn't like to be noticed that much. But unfortunately for her, she'll have to, if you consider her bonded's personality. After the initial disbelief and rage that he got 'just a lowly green', Val will quickly decide that she's definetely the awesomest of all dragons, and will be doing everything... EVERYTHING... to place her in the spotlight and make others notice his awesome.
And Irinth actually has a reason to be proud. Even though she's smaller and not as fast in flight as other greens, she uses her body with ease, and has quite a stamina for a green, allowing her to last longer than others during Threadfall. If someone manages to hammer into her head that she's just as special as any other dragon, her feeling of inferiority will lessen quite a bit.
Other: I'd love to see her on this base if possible <3

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: Conomor
Age: 16
Sex: Male
Orientation: Hetrosexual
Rank: Weyrbrat / candidate
Physical Description: Conomor is of middling height for his age, strongly built and darkly tanned. His eyes are a deep shade of brown, steadily calculating and full of quiet confidence in himself. His hair is black and usually worn in corn rows that fall to a little past jaw length. When it is loose, his hair is thick, coarse and straight. He usually dresses in shades of black and grey, and everything he owns is practical. He is not handsome, but his bulk and the self assurance with which he carries himself ensure that he is seldom overlooked for being plain once he has been picked out of a crowd.

Personality: Conomor is confident, near impossible to rattle and quietly intelligent. He respects only those who he feels have earned his esteem, but is sensible enough to be polite to and quietly obey those above him even if he doesn’t think they deserve their position. This said, he will questions orders he finds truly foolish without fear of the consequences. By and large, he prefers being a leader over being a follower but when he is unfamiliar with a situation or task he is quite happy to step back and let someone else take over, and learn about whatever it is by watching them.

He is unshakably loyal to his friends, but often has trouble letting go of a grudge no matter how petty it might be. Not given to witty repartee his dislike is shown bluntly, usually either by ignoring the offending party or by simply telling them to go away and let him be. He is as blunt with his friends as he is with his foes, and has lost one or two over the years thanks to his tendency not to take their side if he feels they were in the wrong, and or to tell them plainly when they’re being stupid. This said, he is also very honest and open with praise and affection; honesty in word and deed is one of the cornerstones of his life.

He is fond of reading almost anything he can get hold of, and spends much of his free time absorbed in scrolls. When he isn’t lost in learning however, he enjoys the company of others. He is happy just to listen if someone has something interesting to say, and equally he is happy to chat to almost anyone. Small-talk however isn’t exactly his strong suit, so he isn’t the best at keeping a casual conversation going for long. Due to his strength, a lot of the chores is he assigned involve carrying heavy things around and though he finds such things tedious he accepts that as a weyrbrat such things are his due.

History: Conomor is the son of a male green rider and a female blue rider; the product of a mating flight. Though his parents had no romantic interest in one another at all, when his mother found out she was pregnant they became good friends. As they were close, and wished to remain close to their son, Conomor knows his blood parents better than many do but they do not fill the role of parents for him. The one who does is his foster mother, a mere drudge but a loving, good-humored and hard-working woman with whom he gets along excellently.

Ever since he can remember, Conomor’s life has been centered around his ambition of becoming a dragonrider. To this end, his free time over the years has been dedicated as much to learning all the dragon lore he can as to his friends. He first asked permission to stand for a hatching at fourteen turns - he did not consider himself mature enough before this - but thanks to a series of badly timed illnesses and injuries he has yet to even make it to a Touching. Not to be discouraged, he plans to keep trying until he finally makes it to the hatching sands and finds his dragon.

Pets: Gilden is fairly peaceful for a flit. She investigates new things with interest but doesn't poke her nose where it doesn't belong. She is deeply attached to Conomor and hates to be away from him for longer than it takes her to deliver a message somewhere for him. She is also very protective of him, and anyone who makes him angry can expect to have a red-eyed queen screaming angrily and them. Conomor acquired her egg at a gather in Ista Hold not long ago. The merchant selling a quintet of eggs was wholly unaware of the value of his goods and was asking a mere half mark for each. Conomor was the first to buy one of the eggs, but paid three quarters of a mark rather than a half because he respected the merchant for not raising his prices once he saw how eager people were.

Other/Talents:
~Intelligent and physically powerful.
~ Quote “I might be built like a watch-wher, but that doesn’t mean I think like one.”
~ His journal is here.

Picture: (if you have one)

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Aroth
Color: brown
Physical Description: White spotted pufferfish

Aroth is grey-brown hued, and a fairly large and stocky dragon for his colour. His back and flanks are quite darkly coloured, but brightened by paler greyish brown spots that are surrounded by very fine rings of very dark grey-brown. These markings cover him from nose to tail-tip; only his wings lack them. His belly is paler than his back, and matches the colour of his spots almost exactly. He carries himself with confidence, more than a little arrogance and almost always appears tensed for action.

Personality: Proud and harsh, Aroth does not suffer fools, or insult to himself or his rider easily. He believes strongly that he and His deserve to go far in life, but more than that he is willing to work hard at achieving greatness rather than waiting for it to drop into his lap. Worth, he says, must always be proven and he spends every day trying to do just that. He has a quick temper, and seemingly slight issues can easily get him riled up and bellowing at the offending party. He is unrepentant for the distress he can cause to the unwary, believing that they just need to toughen up and deal with the roaring at they had coming. Somewhat bullheaded and stubborn, he resents asking for assistance with anything and it takes a lot of persuading from his more sensible rider to make him concede. This trait, however, makes him confident and quick to react in new or unexpected situations; a nice balance to Conomor’s tendency to over think.

Despising laziness, when he is not not doing anything in particular Aroth sits upright with the look of a proud sentinel about him, watching the world around him for threats or opportunities. Being a dragon who loves to prove himself, on adulthood he will chase any female that flies and take it harder than most when he loses out. He has a fairly short memory even for a dragon, often not remembering what happened yesterday, but is bright enough to pick up ideas again very quickly when given a nudge. Perhaps because of this, and slightly surprisingly given his hard nature, he is not much of a grudge-bearer and often mutters to Conomor “Oh let it go Mine, even idiots like him deserve a second chance to prove they’re not entirely stupid.” when he is refusing to let something go. There is, after all, always tomorrow to get angry with them again should they make a repeat offense. Among the traits he shares with his rider are honesty, bluntness, and integrity. Implying that he has ever behaved less than honorably is a sure fire way to get this hot-head snarling.

Other:
~Quote “What? I only shouted at him. Not my fault he’s such a coward he fainted, useless wherryhead.”
~Why Conomor? Aroth needs somebody to reign in his temper in a big way, and Conomor’s calm logical nature is perfectly suited to this formidable task. Admittedly, however, it is Conomor who will need nudges from his dragon to let go of past slights and silly grudges. In addition, Aroth’s complete self-assurance will help Conomor overcome his slight ambivalence towards striving to achieve his full potential, and Aroth’s tendency to act first think later will help him be quicker to decide how to deal with an unfamiliar problem.
~ Why the name? Aroth comes from Arothon Hispidus, the Latin name of the white spotted pufferfish, upon which his colouring is based.
~ On the wing? Sturdy but not fast, Aroth will be able to keep going for hours on end but won’t be winning many speed or agility contests.
~ Pose? Would it be possible to have the tongue-sticky out dragonet edited to lack the tongue look aggressive? If not then rearing/prancing dragonet looking aggressive XD

RIDER INFORMATION
Name:
Govind
Age:
15 Turns
Sex:
Male
Orientation:
Bisexual
Craft:
Mining
Rank:
Candidate/Jr. Weyring
Physical Description:
Govind is not one to be considered tiny nor delicate at a newcomer’s first glance. Standing in at 6’ 2” and with a muscular build, he’s the very definition of a miner’s child especially with his short-cropped black hair, black eyes, and the pale skin that doesn’t look like it’s seen a lick of sunlight in all of his fifteen turns. Another defining feature is the multiple scars scattered across his body, mostly on his arms, face, and upper body from various mining accidents throughout the years. The most prominent one above the others in his unwanted collection is a large gash-like scar on his left arm; while it had been a serious injury way back when; but now healed, it neither hampers nor handicaps him in any form. Finally, his normal outfit consists of work boots, breeches and a tunic stained with dust from the interior of the mines along with a few food stains via his younger siblings. He also has a habit of wearing a bandage around his arm to cover the nasty scar that’s there.
Personality:
Despite his outer appearance, Govind is neither a scary nor cruel person. Plainly, he’s the exact opposite.

One trait that stands out is his strong patience with children younger than himself. He can withstand food thrown, messy beds, hair tugging, clinginess, running around when they should be in bed, maybe even more. Considering the amount of younger siblings he has, his mother always said it was a wonder he never went insane as one of their main caretakers. He’s also someone who enjoys working on chores that is considered “women’s work”; cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc etc. Govind has always said it brings him a sense of calm away from the dangerous chaos of the mines below ground.

Indeed, while mining in itself is dangerous work and a few of the males are considered “manly-men”, Govind would rather stick his nose in a book and read than wrestle for absolutely no reason. Unreasoned violence is one of his greatest pet-peeves and he literally can’t stand people who spark a fight or attempt to. Give him an urgent reason to fight though (defending someone or a raid of sorts) and the teenager is more than willing to jump in on the fray. Even so, he’d possibly just knock them out then causing blood or broken bones.

Finally, let’s go over his work effort. Working below the ground for some odd years with the adults and older teenagers, he’s learned that doing less that what he’s capable of will earn him a smack about the head. So, instead of learning to be lazy, he’s pushed himself to give more that one hundred and ten percent while he’s working both in the house and down in the mines. Give him a dirty job and he’ll dive into it headfirst with little complaint. Give him a clean job and he’ll dive into it with little complaint as well, especially if it’s kitchen duty. (This usually means he can bribe a meatroll or something from the kitchen folk in exchange for his work or swipe something without people noticing him snacking.)
History:
Born into Crom Hold under his father (a high-ranked miner) and his mother (a simple kitchen worker), Govind had known what it was to be a miner since day one…or at least since the day he could understand what his father was talking about. Being the eldest son, it had been preached that he would step into his father’s shoes and venture down into the dark tunnels of the mines. Not really understanding the “tradition” of it, Govind had agreed without hesitation and took his first steps down there at the ripe age of ten turns into the world of cold darkness, tunnel snakes, and the constant threat of collapse.

Worried about her child, his mother had protested at first but had feebly given in when his father outmatched her in a shouting fight the night before he went down. But her worry was on the mark, unfortunately. It was just before the final bell rang out that one of the weaker supports in the mine gave out and a section of the ceiling collapsed on a small group of about ten miners; Govind and at least two others his age were among those buried. It was a cry of good fortune that the WherWatcher had not been in that area at the time; the beast was able to locate them all fairly quickly and everyone was dug out before something else could break down on top of them. It was in this accident that Govind had received the gash on his arm and a few of the experienced miners called it his “christening” to the Craft. His mother had not agreed with the teasing and took away the lad to help her with daily chores while his arm healed over the next few months. It was over this time that he learned how to and develop the feminine skills of a household. This helped immensely when his mother gave birth to a set of twins not even a year later. His attention became split: one half was with his father and learning about the keys of their trade while the other was with his mother and helping to take care of the screaming twins and his five year old sister.

At the age of fifteen turns, Govind had been working in the mines like usual when a Rider of Search arrived to the Hold just as the shift changed. Being within the legal age group, the Green dragon had seen potential within him; despite this, Govind was fairly reluctant to leave his mother and family behind. It was only with the urging of his father and a promise to his sister and brothers that he left for Ista Weyr.
Pets:
N/A
Other/Talents:
Even though he’s a miner, Govind is capable of doing cooking, sewing cleaning…chores often considered “womenfolk work” by a few of the people he knows and works with. He also knows a small amount of Healer skills but not enough to tend to any major injury, but small ones like bumps and bruises plus the occasional sprain and broken bone.

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name:
Asenath
Color:
Green: Asenath's coloring is unique in a way. With a base of a deep, forest green, it fades off to a lighter shade on her feet and the edges of her wing membranes. (Similar to a lime-green/leaf green color, whichever you think looks better.) Under her eyes are cresent moon-like markings of the same lighter shade of green while vine-like markings decorate random parts of her body. (Feel free to interpret this anyway you see fit. :3)
Physical Description:
Asenath is small, even by the standards of a normal Green; she is also fairly slender but has a small amount of muscle build in her legs and wings. Because of this, her stamina lacks somewhat she but makes up for it in speed and strength. This is aided by large but narrow wings, similar to a falcons wing. She still is capable of keeping up with the other dragons during Threadfall even with her small size.
Personality:
Asenath is a baby and always will be a baby, even when she grows into an adult. Constantly curious about everything and anything, she's not afraid to stick her nose into something to find out what it is even if it's dangerous or fragile. This keeps her rider on the ropes nearly 24/7, save for when the little dragon is feeding, sleeping, or taking a bath. She is also very clingy of Govind, attempting to chase away other dragons that get close to him; more than often the possiblity of friendship wins over jealousy and she forgives them for attempting to steal her rider. Firelizards are not a problem to the dragoness. She finds them more amusing that annoying, a source of company when her rider is not able to be with her for an amount of time; Asenath will even call the green Flitts "Mini-me"s as a note of sisterly affection.

Other:
~ When she's not causing problems for Govind, Asenath is more than content to warm herself by the bathing pool or in a patch of sunlight near the Weyrling Barracks. She likes watching the daily goings of the humans and older dragons and will ask questions about what that person is doing or what that Rider and his dragon are going to Govind, even when he's in the middle of something. She's pretty much like a wet sponge that is trying to absorb more water. The endless stream of questions can only be stopped when Govind gives her love and affection or when she and he are needed for Weyrling Lessons.

~ Asenath means: "Belonging to her Father". This translates to Asenath's feeling of belonging completely to Govind: heart, mind and soul. She often repeats the same thing to him, especially after a bad day or something awful has happened: "Mine belongs to Asenath and Asenath belongs to Mine, yes? You are me and I am you."

~ One of their favorite escapades is slipping away from the Weyr and going to the shoreline to enjoy time together away from the constant chaos and workloads of a Rider. From just sitting on the sands to going into the water together, these two just can't get enough of the place. Another is simply flying around without a destination or purpose in mind, especially at night when it's not cloudy out.

~ Threadflight is a small difficulty for the twosome, especially if they are on the front lines as Thread starts to fall. While she knows her duty as a dragon of Pern and she knows that she has to fly amongest it, Asenath cannot help but feel a great deal fear towards the "silver demon rain"; if it was not for Govind's firmness and his patience with the child-like dragon, she would most likely hide in the Weyr until it was over and done with. Govind would not force her, he just constantly reminds the female of the wonderful duty of carting firestone from dragon to dragon during the fight; something that ranks lower than the actual fear of fighting in her stubborn brain.

Name: Anont
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Orientation: Bisexual
Craft: Vinification
Rank: Apprentice

Physical Description:
Slightly taller than the average height, Anont is a boy that definitely grew into his body- he has a good set of shoulders on him, and a decent strength from carting around wines for his previous master. His hair is a dark black color, ending at a length just under his ears, and his eyes are a very dark brown, borderline black. His face is typically stoic, but when he smiles, he seems the actual age he is (young!) instead of the older man he portrays himself as.

Personality: At the surface, Anont seems particularly cold and distant; he’s not one to go out and make conversation with others. Really, he’s just focused on thinking; about what? Who knows. Typically, he thinks on his job and ways to improve, but he’s acknowledged occasional daydreams about dragons. When he’s caught with this, however, he typically laughs it off and returns to his previous task.

Whatever he’s assigned to do, Anont takes the job incredibly seriously. There’s nothing occurring outside of his job until it’s done, and focus needs to be entirely on the task at hand. Especially in working, Anont isn’t one for conversation; if you try to talk to him, you’ll get a word or two back at best, if not a grunt or total ignorance. But what can you do with a guy that works that hard?

On the rare occasion Anont relaxes, he enjoys simply listening to other people speak, particularly the story tellers. If you manage to catch him at one of these times, he’s much more light-hearted and friendly than on the job. Still not one to make conversation, but he’ll definitely take part in one if somebody addresses him.

History: Anont was raised in a smaller, nearby weyr with his parents, working on an apprenticeship with an old Vintner. In his seventeenth year, when he’d gone out trading with his father, he was searched and seen to be a potential candidate. With that, he packed up his bags and prepared to head to Ista Weyr. He’s lived alone there for some time, though he occasionally makes visits to his home weyr to see his old master and his parents. Even though he doesn’t see them much, he has a good relationship with the ‘folks- his father a trader, and mother a harper. They’ve never been of high standing, they’re simply average people living average lives. That’s why, when their son was searched and had the chance to impress, they were more than thrilled for him to head to Ista to stand.

In recent history, Anont has been stationed at Ista Weyr for about two years, now. He arrived just after his seventeenth birthday, due to work in Vinification and on his parents approval on standing; he’s aware that he’s not the most likely candidate to impress, but he hopes for it dearly. (Not that he’d ever admit it, however. While he hopes to impress a dragon of his own, he wouldn’t be devastated if he didn’t.) Should he not impress, he would likely remain at Ista Weyr as a Vintner.

Pets: None
Other/Talents: His friends and family say that he's a decent cook, but thus far, he hasn't opened up to anyone about it. Otherwise, nothing particularly special about him. Joe average, reporting for duty.
Picture: (if you have one) None. Coming soon?

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Baalith
Color: Brown
Physical Description: Copperband Butterfly Fish: My interpretation is an ordinary brown color for usual hide, with a slightly dark-orange (Sienna? I'm not that great on color names) stripe where the fish's stripes naturally are. The spot would be an extremely dark brown spot.

Build-wise, he's more long and lean than big and burly. He stands at a smaller shoulder-height than most of his brown brethren, but has a slight advantage length-wise. What this boy lacks in pure, physical strength, he makes up for in speed.

Personality: Chatty Cathy, it's a pleasure to meet you. Baalith has an overstimulated sense of curiosity; he can't keep his nose out of other people (or dragons, really)'s business, and is just DYING to know what's going on. Whether it's going up to someone and prying his way in, or pestering his rider till he caves in and speaks for him, it's Baalith is driven by the idea that if his questions aren't answered, he'll NEVER find out what he missed.

It takes a LOT to get Baalith down and out. Even if he makes a mistake, it's more of the idea "alright, THAT went wrong. ...What crazy idea can I try next?" Because of this, Baalith's probably going to face a lot of trouble- inhibitions don't limit this little guy. If he gets an idea, he's going for it!

The one upside of Baalith's crazy questions is his outstanding memory- every little thing he picks up, he seems to carry with him. This may, however, be able to be seen as a bad thing- any little detail you say, or slip you make, stays in Baalith's mind, with everything else. He's not likely to bring them up in anger, but his lack of a filter makes it so that he might use your deepest, darkest secret in every day conversation. Ouch.

Because of his inability to pick and choose his actions, Baalith's going to be a bit of a struggle in wing formations- he's certainly not leadership quality, unless he was to SERIOUSLY get his act together. And really, what're the odds of THAT happening? He may struggle with holding formations initially- and even then, on occasion, afterward- but Baalith DOES love his people, and is going to try to fight the urge to investigate EVERYTHING- especially during flight.

It's not really that Baalith's unintelligent; if he could get a hold of his interactions, he'd be a very intelligent little dragon. When it comes to information, he can retain and know a lot- your book-smarts sort of guy. He's just a bit... socially challenged.

Other:
This strange, in-your-face contrast to Anont's personality is really going to force the boy to come out of his shell and make friends. Where Anont could grow more personable and friendly from Baalith's actions, he's also going to have to learn control in reigning the dragon in. Anont's going to have to learn to say no to some ideas, because we all know not everything you think of is really for the best. Curiosity killed the dragon, one might say.

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: Mal
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Orientation: Homosexual
Rank: Candidate
Physical Description: Standing at the grand height of 5’3’’ (full-grown, he'll probably be around 5'5''), Mal is far from the most… well… physically imposing person around. It’s possible that he could be muscular someday, but he tends to avoid actual physical labor. He has wavy dark brown hair, cut just below his earlobes; a bit longer than what is fashionable, he admits, but… eh. He likes it, and that’s what’s important. He’s built more for speed rather than stamina or pure strength. His eyes are gray. His teeth are, by far, his worst feature, being all crooked and stained.
Personality: He’s… err… well, he’s a flake in many ways. He doesn’t take very much seriously and, what he does take seriously, isn’t generally very serious. Dodging responsibility and avoiding blame are two things he lives for. Well, there’s also booze, but we don’t talk about that. That'll come up more in the future. Being a relatively clever young man, he has figured out that the best way to be clever is to pretend to be about as intelligent as your average rock. And the best way to do that is to pretend to be completely open about everything. No one looks for secrets if they don’t realize that those secrets exist, yes? Not to mention, by being so open and all that, other people tend to trust him a good deal more than they should.

He’s rather manipulative, using whatever he can to get other people to do his work for him. Well, some of it, anyway. Like heavy lifting and whatnot. He delights in ridiculously circuitous plans and plots. Mostly, he delights in proving how clever he is. When his ‘plots’ fail (which is often, because he has the attention span of a concussed duckling), he generally sneaks off somewhere to sulk and complain and possibly nurse a bottle of booze.

In a rare dichotomy, he is happy in a group or on his own. When in a group, he prefers to be the center of attention. He does not, however, make a particularly good leader, since leadership comes with responsibilities. Honestly, he’s much better at a supporting role, one where he gets the joy of being important, but not so much that he’s too frightened by the responsibility of it all. With his charisma, it’s theoretically possible that he could be a strong leader… if only it wasn’t for those pesky responsibilities that come along with leadership.
History: What hasn’t he been? If you listen to Mal’s stories, he’s been an orphan, a b*****d, a motherless child, the only son of a secret Lord Holder, one son among many of farmers… he’s a liar, plain and simple, rewriting his history so often that it’s possible that even he doesn’t remember the truth. He’s gotten so used to telling the lies that the truth hardly even matters. The truth is a good deal less… glamorous.

He’s not sure who is father is, in all honesty. It doesn’t matter much either. His mother was a woman of… questionable character and even more questionable morality. In the manner of mothers everywhere, she insisted that her son was special and worked hard to secure a future for him. Eventually she managed to catch attention of a Harper and ranted about how great her son was going to be. The Harper listened politely, possibly only because he was unable to think of a good way to get this insane woman out of his way. Still, he had to admit, the boy had talent and he eventually agreed to take him in. This was when Mal was twelve.

At first, Mal was quite content with this new Harper life of singing and attempting to play instruments. (Ironically enough, he’d never gotten the hang of the harp or any other instruments; mostly, other Harpers would eventually take the poor instrument away from him in pity). But, after a while, he began to grow… well… bored of it all. Sure, it was hilarious the first time to put salt in the klah, but that sort of thing got boring eventually. Besides, the amount of attention he was starting to attract was rather disquieting… Eventually, he got to thinking about what a Harper really did.

It wasn’t all singing silly songs and entertaining people. It was… well… teaching people too. And, suddenly, Mal realized that he may very well be responsible for the education of others. And the thought terrified him. He quickly disappeared to avoid that fate. That was when he was eighteen.

...

Yeaaaah... in retrospect, it probably wasn't the brightest thing to do. Traveling around as a lone teenager is pretty stupid. He figured that out---eventually---and settled down in a Hold under a fake name. Occasionally things would go missing in his presence----small things, like bubbly pies or perhaps the occasional apple---but he had always been a decent actor. Being Searched a huge relief, actually, since people were starting to put the pieces together.
Pets: Aeron the Bronze firelizard. Aeron’s a nasty little piece of work, that’s for sure. Actually, ‘big piece of work’. He’s large for a Bronze firelizard, approaching the size of a small Gold. And, my oh my, he’s aware of it too! Highly possessive of Mal, he tends to assume everyone wants His. He is quite wrong in this respect, but that doesn’t dissuade Aeron! His first act in the world was to promptly bite Mal, drawing blood. But the young man doesn’t seem to mind; since he cheated to get Aeron’s egg in the first place, he figures he deserves the punishment. Aeron gets along much better with other firelizards, especially females. Males are slightly less accepted, but he’ll tolerate them so long as they know their place.
Other/Talents: He has a good singing voice. Not OMG amazing, but it has potential. He’s also intelligent, even if he doesn’t seem to have much common sense. He’s a bit like a terrier with OCD; if he sees something that doesn’t fit, he’ll keep pulling and pulling at it, regardless of the outcome. He is, however, quite good at acting. Also rather talented with sleight-of-hand tricks. You know, making coins 'disappear' and 'magically reappear' in his pockets sort of thing...

On a sidenote, he is red-green colorblind, a fact that occasionally comes back to haunt him. It is not severe; it's not as if he'll mistake, say, a Green for a Blue or something. He also possesses all the writing skills of a drunken beluga on a trampoline during an earthquake. Reading and writing are both very difficult for him.
Picture: Mal by Reineshadowguard.

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Stenellth
Color: Green
Physical Description: Colored after the Pantropical spotted dolphin. The one on the bottom there. <3 Her back is dark green (Like forest green), all the way up to her nose. Her sides are lighter, closer to new leaf green. The wing membranes are light green and the edges are darker again. Her pale belly is speckled with dark green. No spots on her legs, though, which are dark again.
Build-wise, she’s big for a Green, at twenty-six feet. She’s still built lightly, without any extra fat. She’s simply big for a Green. This build comes with extra stamina; it’s likely that she’ll be able to last nearly an entire Threadfall once she’s older, but she’s far slower than her Green sisters.

Personality: Stenellth is a very active, but calm, dragon. She grounds her flighty rider, keeping him from going off on random tangents. Or at least she tries. Mostly, while she’s trying to explain exactly why they shouldn’t do something, Mal has already gone off gleefully to do exactly that. On the bright side, she gets to give him an ‘I Told You So’ speech later. This isn’t to say that she doesn’t know how to have fun! It’s just that she’s less sporadic than he is, and more likely to plan things out. She's more of a fan of physical pleasures: romping around with others, wrestling, and, yes, Flights. With her dry and sarcastic wit, she’s a good match for Mal. After all, she at least can keep up with him. She loves the beach and has a particular affinity for shipfish.

She takes a certain amount of pride in her unusual size and appearance, although she’s nowhere near as outgoing as her rider; she’s simply not some wilting flower, content to hide behind others, that’s all. Nor does she back down from confrontations. Often times, she can be heard bickering with Aeron, who, so far, has refused to accept the idea that he has to share ‘His Mal’ with someone else. Still, she’s good-natured and, so far, hasn’t attempted to eat the annoying little firelizard. She figures he’d probably give her indigestion anyway.

She quite enjoys the attention that she gets during Flights, honestly. Social and outgoing, she likes to talk to other dragons.
Other: I’d like her to be in the tongue-sticking out pose. <3 I feel it suits her playful and mocking nature. Her name comes from the scientific name for this breed of dolphin, by the way.

Why Me? D: Mal, despite his lack of a decent education, is fairly cerebral in his own way. Stenellth is the opposite. She's not really stupid, persay, but her interests lay with more physical persuits. Hopefully she'd encourage him to just be more physical. Also, he needs SOMEONE to keep him out of trouble. Who better than a lifemate?

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: M'dor (Mador)
Age: 20 Turns
Sex: Male
Orientation: Bisexual (Leans towards males)
Craft: Harper
Rank: Journeyman | Junior Weyrling
Physical Description: M'dor is slightly below average height and slender in build. His skin is a nice olive tan, and he has fluffy blond hair that falls to the nape of his neck. His eyes are blue-green in color and he is fairly handsome. He is surprisingly down-to-earth, and wears primarily leather clothing that is pleasing to the eye but practical. He prefers going barefoot when it's possible, but when he is forbidden from doing so he settles with a pair of sandals hastily made from a leather sole and some thin leather ties.
Personality: Although bright, M'dor has a remarkably short attention span and a horrid sense of direction. He is polite and generous, and has a knack for instructing those younger than him. More than anything he values his lute, which he carved himself during his apprenticeship. He is terrified of the dark, and is known for always keeping a spare glowbasket nearby. His biggest aspiration is to see as much of Pern as he can in his lifetime.
History: M'dor was born to Donoren and Matalea in Southern Boll Hold. Most of his early life isn't worth noting. He grew up happy and enjoyed spending time with the Hold's resident harper. When he was 8, he and his father didn't make it into the Hold on time during a Threadfall. His father was injured by the fall while he was protecting M'dor, and now has a rather nasty thread scar across most of his back. At 10, the local harper recommended M'dor for apprenticeship at the Harper Hall, and he took to the idea quickly. His time in the hall was some of the happiest of his life, and while there he accidentally impressed Fiari, a green flit whose egg he'd found by chance. He was only recently promoted to the rank of Journeyman, and had been looking forward to traveling until he was Searched. He is currently unsure of his place in Ista Weyr, but is more than willing to entertain his fellow candidates with his trusty Lute.
Pets: Fiari, Green Flit
Other/Talents: N/A
Picture: None

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Valignanth
Color: Blue
Physical Description: Valignanth is primarily a light baby blue, but he has rather pronounced midnight colored stripes along his back. Basically, I want him to be based on this fish.
Personality: This blue is a grounding point for his rider, and one that M'dor desperately needs. Unlike his counter-part, Valignanth is level-headed and extremely bright for a dragon. Even as a Weyrling, he does his best to keep his rider out of trouble. Whether it be through mentally 'nudging' M'dor back on task, or helping him find his way. He's generally helpful, and would be more than willing to oil his Clutchmates backs if he was able.

When not being 'helpful', Valignanth is a generally peaceful, lazy dragon. He is fond of his rider's music, and will sometimes "hum" along with it. He enjoys flying as much as any other dragon. He's just about as social as any other dragon in that he doesn't really seek out company, but will not object to the idea of it. You'd be hard-pressed to get this boy to complain, and if he did it'd likely be something serious.

In the wing, Valignanth comes alive. He loves the thrill of fighting thread, and it seems like his entire personality changes when he's fighting in. He will chase down any thread he sees with an aggressiveness no one would expect, but as a consequence he generally can't last an entire Threadfall. Not that he minds it.

Sexually, Valignanth isn't exactly picky, but neither is he promiscuous. He'll chase maybe three out of every five greens that rise, and rather enjoys the thrill of catching one. In fact, in the event a Queen rises, it wouldn't be far-fetched for him to attempt to chase her, if only to challenge himself and see how long he can last against the Bronzes and Browns.
Other:
  • I don't intend for Valignanth to ever catch a Queen. He chases them for fun. (Yes, he's weird.)
  • Why Mador? Out of all the Candidates, Mador was the one who needed the most help. His short attention span could easily cause a disaster if he failed to give his dragon a good mental picture the first time they went between. With his above average intelligence, Valignanth could easily prevent this tragedy. Not to mention, Mador needs to challenge himself to become better, much in the way Valignanth does in flight and wing. Hopefully, by the time they're wingriders, Mador will have made some progress regarding his focus with the help of his dragon.
  • The name? Valignanth is a throw-back to the first blue I ever played. The name comes from the D&D Draconic word valignat, which means burn.
  • Which Pose? I'll let you guys pick what you think would suit his personality best. :3

RIDER INFORMATION

Name: Lawrence (pre-impressing) Law’r thereafter.
Age: 17
Sex: Male
Orientation: Bisexual with more male leanings. Fairly indifferent to gender.
Rank: Jr Weyrling
Physical Description: Lawr is fairly unremarkable, scruffy and fairly unruly brown hair, so dark as to be wrongly described as black in the wrong light. Said hair reaches almost to his shoulders and is haphazardly cut every few months with little skill or tied back out of the way. His skin is a ruddy bronzed tone and his eyes are dark blue. His facial features still demonstrate the soft roundness of youth but show hints of the masculine cheekbones and chin he will someday possess. His pride and joy are the fluffy vestiges of hair which darken the edges of his jawbone and chin, potentially someday a beard but for the time being, little more than something to reassure the gangly teen of his adulthood. He is fairly tall for his age but unbeknownst to him will not grow a great deal past this, remaining a fairly average adult. He has not yet filled out to his height and is rather awkwardly thin, his movements somewhat un-coordinated.
In terms of physical blemishes, his time helping his father, a tannercrafter in his workshop, resulted in some nicks and cuts about his person, from his own clumsiness with tools, a small cut across an eyebrow from a fall as a child and a burn on the back of one hand from handling hot tar containers. He dresses as would be expected from the son of a tannercrafter, primarily in leathers, his clothing simple, practical and far from gaudy, his favourite item of clothing being an old cloak given to him by his father, lined in furs, still slightly too large for him but treasured nevertheless.

Personality: Lawr’s personality is for lack of a better word, fairly laid back. There is not a great deal that can ruffle his feathers, but as a downside, there is not a great deal which can work him up to any great frenzy of emotion either. He treats the world, despite his young age with a fairly been-there-done-that attitude, one which will almost inevitably be dispelled by some event in his life, a potential blow to the ego. Dragons for instance are something he never considered as a possibility in his life and will be one of the few things which /can/ rouse him from his indifference. Still, he is far from a workaholic and if there is a possible way to wheedle out of having to do hard graft, he will do so, but not to the point of stubbornly and pronlonged arguing. After all, arguing takes effort too! He is a fairly sociable person despite all this and enjoys basking in the presence of others, from rowdy boys to the quieter girls, he’s more than happy to lend an ear to anyone and share some of his own anecdotes in a discussion. His greatest personality flaw, besides laziness which is not a huge problem is his predisposition to stereotype and prejudice. He is in general not fond of the large holders and other figures of non-weyr authority and often makes stupid and hurtful comments in the presence of others, only to regret it later, letting his mouth go before his thoughts.

History: Lawr’s family was a fairly large one, he was the fourth of four brothers and two sisters, growing up under the tuition of his father, sent often with his elder siblings to pass on the leather items they created to the dragonriders for their gear and saddles as part of the holder tithes, he learned some of the rudiments of his father’s craft before being sent to live at the weyr, as his father described as a chance to see the various items he’d be making in use and as a go between for his siblings and their buying and selling their goods. His childhood on the whole was a positive experience, and though his father did not always have time for him in such a large family, he did not grudge him this fact. Both of his parents would be very supportive of him gaining an opportunity to be out on the sands at a hatching.

Pets: None
Other/Talents: His main talent would be a slight knowledge of the tannercraft, and therefore a slightly deeper understanding of the general care of flying gear and of his dragon’s skin.

Picture: (if you have one) Sadly I only have one concept doodle of Lawr and it is far from his current age but more a foreshadowing of his possible adult appearance. It gives an idea however of what he would look like at his current age.

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Maranth
Color: Blue
Physical Description:
Maranth appearance wise has the look of the surface of water viewed from underneath against a backdrop of a night sky, an unusual mottling of light and dark across his body, the markings in sharp contrast to one another but slightly softer around their edges. The light markings are overwhelmed by the dark ones and he is very reminiscent of the colouration of some Siamese fighting fish. For instance.
http://www.canleyvale.hs.education.nsw.gov.au/Winning websites/fish/gallery/blue halfmoon.jpg
His markings tend towards being darker across his underbelly and membranes, the mottling even carrying over to his gums and tongue with distinct dark patches here and there. In terms of shine, his scales are far from glimmering and bright, even in direct sunlight having a certain matte dimness to them, the real beauty in their colour only truly brought out when his body is freshly oiled or wet, on these rare occasions, the various facets of blue being brought out properly.

Personality: In personality, Maranth is the opposite of his rider, easily fascinated by all kinds of new things, taking a great interest in almost anything he’s never encountered before, easily emotional and upset by harsh words or dismissals from Lawr but never to the degree of holding anything against his lifelong partner. He is keen but often overestimates his own abilities, something which in time would have to be tempered by his rider. It would be Lawr who would have to watch for the signs of tiring or weakening in flights. Physically Maranth has a good deal of speed but not a great deal of stamina, working fairly well with other dragons but with his boisterousness a potential irritation to members of his wing much later in their training. However, as a young whelp, he’d be fairly content, eating a little too much if permitted but generally amicable to his training, if slow to pick up new things. It takes a good few attempts to learn the various things that he has to, but his seemingly unending enthusiasm bears him out in the end.

Other: Maranth would be the initial trigger in veering Lawr off of his path towards know-it-all arrogance, potentially injuring him by mistake on the sands in his glee to see him, in the clumsiness of youth, something he could never predict or hope for, essentially the first in a series of life lessons.

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: G'ran (Original name being Goran)
Age: 18 Turns
Sex: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual. Very heterosexual.
Rank: Jr. Weyrling
Physical Description: Big; everything about the man seems to imply as much. From his towering height to his broad shoulders, to his strong limbs and large hands and feet, Goran is a physically intimidating man. The scowl he always wears on his face doesn’t help things much. Roughly cropped, dirty blonde hair is short enough that it doesn’t obscure his hazel eyes, but it always looks messy. More often than not, he cuts it himself with a knife, and is badly in need of a better ‘look’. His face is hard and angular, a strong, thick jaw often sporting unkempt stubble. He is actually missing one of his front teeth, but it’s hard to notice since he doesn’t talk much. Goran looks more like a man in his prime rather than a teenager, which helps to keep overly friendly people from trying to approach him. His clothes are often shoddy and too small, often bearing crudely-repaired holes and the occasional smear of dirt and other stains. (not as a rider, obviously, but as a candidate)

Personality: Silent, gruff, and sometimes bordering on cruel, Goran wants nothing to do with people and prefers to keep to himself. His physical appearance often pushes him into the stereotype of a bully, and he has molded his personality to seem that way in better hopes of driving others away from him. If a particularly determined individual continues to talk to him, he will often reply in monosyllabic answers or grunts, and one will usually grow fed up enough to leave him be. In truth, the man speaks very slowly, and most are fooled into believing he’s a few glows shy of a basket. He’s surprisingly clever, and takes his time when it comes to answering people so he can supply the best answer possible.

He is quick to anger if people push him where he doesn't want to be pushed, and has been known to react with physical violence as a result of his childhood. If it's a situation where he can quietly stomp off, he'd rather do so--but if his pride or honor is at stake, Goran will stand his ground. He holds grudges like no other, and anyone who crosses him badly will forever be ignored or openly scorned. Trust does not come easily to the man, if at all, making him very wary around new faces. He believes he is the only one that can truly support himself.

Despite his many flaws, if one could ever wedge their way underneath his tough exterior, they would find a loyal and capable friend. Goran is especially good at dealing with problems (so long as they have nothing to do with relationships), and will spend days picking them apart until he discovers a suitable solution. Pretty girls make him even gruffer than usual--and a great deal clumsier.

History: Goran was born on the wagon of a traveling merchant—the product of an affair between his wife, and a miner at a camp near Ista Weyr. The mother was then given a simple choice; keep the babe and get out of sight, or remain his loyal wife and pretend the event had never occurred. She chose the latter. The babe was dropped back at the same camp for the true father to care for, making the whole shameful affair a choice bit of gossip for all. He was to be raised as a miner, and struggled to learn to defend himself from the cruelties of other children. The fact that he had no mother and his difficulties with speaking ‘normally’ made him a prime target, and Goran was forced to shut himself down to blunt the worst of their words. Only when his body filled with muscle was he finally left alone. He spent most of his time either with his father or by himself, pulling apart pieces of mining equipment to discover their origins before quickly fixing them back up before anyone could discover his curious habits.

His father, though often a stern individual, knew his son would never be able to grow up and have a good life in an environment like this. He had kept quiet when he’d stumbled across the boy carving things with his knife, or taking apart objects merely for his own amusement. Though Goran’s strength and aggression made him a fine miner, he wasn’t happy. Reaching out to a few, old friends who worked in a nearby Smithcraft Hall, he arranged for the boy to be sent there in hopes of letting him start over. To his dismay, a few weeks before he could be transferred, a dragonrider in Search landed in their humble camp and chose Goran as one of the privileged few who would become a Candidate and perhaps Impress a dragon one day.

Pets: None.

Other/Talents: Goran is surprisingly kind to shy, quiet women and animals. He won’t be unfeeling toward those who remind him of himself. He can often be found making small carvings out of wood or pulling objects apart to study them. Such quirks are due to his unhealthy fascination with discovering how things work; although he does take the time to fix them when he is finished with his assessment. He also enjoys riddles, and is terrified of heights. Both are well guarded secrets.
Picture: None.

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Hazmath
Color: Bronze
Physical Description: Perhaps a bit larger than most Bronze dragons, and seems to need to eat twice as much as them. He is a deep, blackened-bronze, with more reddish-orange stripes. His appearance will be based roughly off the Siamese Tigerfish. [x]

Personality: One could easily assume that due to Hazmath’s slightly larger size, he would be renowned for his strength and honor. Instead of radiating such qualities, however, the Bronze is a surprisingly docile creature. Looks, it seems, can be deceiving. While Hazmath is a strong dragon, he is much more of a ‘gentle giant’... completely opposite to the gruff and almost intimidating front put up by his rider. He almost possesses a more nurturing personality, having a calming influence and a very easy going view of everything that’s presented to him. His rider doesn’t understand and is sometimes infuriated with his laidback ways, especially when he encourages said rider to take part in understanding things better—be they people, or just general socializing. Despite his almost lazy nature, the dragon isn’t inclined to sleep his days away. He’s a bit of a social butterfly, and enjoys being in the company of others to hear the news, gossip, and general conversation that happens in the Weyr.

Other: Hazmath will be the reason G'ran is even socializing at all--the man isn't going to deny his dragon anything if he can help it. I'm expecting some lovely, awkward situations. xD He loves to sun himself, and can often be found sprawled out somewhere if he isn’t eating or swooping down on his fellow dragons to say a friendly hello.

RIDER INFORMATION

Name: J'san (formerly Jessan)
Age:19
Sex: male
Orientation: Bi-sexual, he loves everyone
Rank: Former Herder Apprentice/Jr. Weyrling
Physical Description: Jessan comes in at 5'11" and 170ish lbs. He has a very well built upper body, especially arms and torso due to his line of work. His skin is a dark ivory beige that tends to go golden under the summer heat of Ista. His hair is black and very curly. He tries to keep it cut close to his head otherwise it is like one big bramble. Large. almost drooping eyes that are clear blue when he is in a good mood or almost gray when he is not. He has knicks and scars from random falls, fights and the ilk. Jessan has a strong chin and high cheekbones which definitely cause the girls to sigh over him.
Personality: Laugh and the world laughs with you. That is Jessan's outlook on life. His parents always said he came into the world of Pern with a smile on his face and laughter in his eyes. Not much phases the teenager, unless it is animal abuse or the abuse of someone younger than him. He feels very strongly about how creatures of all shapes and sizes should be handled. He can not tolerate bullies and will always defend the one who is being hurt. His height has been a big advantage in his confrontations and he is happy to avoid violence. As a member of a herding family, Jessan can either give out orders or follow them. He will go against an order if he thinks it will endanger the animals or other people around him. He will never go against an order just because... Other than that, Jessan is slow to anger and would prefer to talk things out than hold grudges. He has no particular fears or worries but he does get a little squeamish around blood or major injuries.
History: Jessan was born to herder parents while they were at their wintering place near Ista Hold. His family has been handling and herding sheep since...well...since...even longer than he can go back in his family history. As soon as he was old enough to walk, he helped his family on the trail with whatever needed to be done. Be it birthing, cleaning, feeding. As such, Jessan grew up with a healthy work ethic and a respect for Pern along with its protectors, the dragon riders. Both of his parents, Hussanal and Jemmina are still alive as are his grandparents, several aunts and uncles. On his way with his family to deliver their tithe to Ista Weyr, Jessan was down at one of the many watering holes when he was Searched. Proud at having their very first family member Searched, everyone encouraged him to accept the honor and with that, Jessan was packed up and shipped off to Ista to stand at the Hatching.
Pets: none, would like to own a flit someday
Other/Talents: Jessan is very good with small animals and children. He has an abundance of patient and wit so not much gets to him. And, he happens to make a mean stew. Nothing fills the belly like a good stew.

DRAGON INFORMATION

Name:
Florenith
Color: Blue
Physical Description: The egg that Florenith came out of was two toned, but it dared to be out there! Not the biggest of the bunch, it's gray undertone is spattered and brought to life by black splotches of all different shapes and sizes. When this blue came hatched out, he resembled the the shell with his hide's main color being slate blue and the underbelly, the bottom of his feet, and head knobs being more of a deep sky blue. Along his back ridges and all the way down his tail, he has spots that are midnight blue. However, whether it is due to his body type or his deep chest, though he can fly higher than other blues, he doesn't last as long at the higher altitudes. Overall, his body is stocky and built kinda think, legs are short but his tail is long and twitchy. His head knobs are long and thin with his eyes set wide apart.
Personality: Florenith is pretty well grounded for a blue. Perhaps it is due to his build. or the need to offset Jessan's happy go lucky mood, but Florenith tends to view things as either black or white. He always sees how things could end not how they actually do end. This is not a bad trait as it keeps him on task when it comes to fighting thread. His cynical nature keeps his from getting his hopes up too much. With other dragons and even his rider, Florenith is blunt and too the point. He does not like to chatter much and refuses to suffer fools who may try to approach him.

Florenith enjoys flying and sunning. Those are his two true happy points as not much can ruin those activities. When it comes to eating, just like his personality, this blue is quick to chose his food and eat it. He doesn't think that an exhausted beast tastes very good. Florenith likes the chance to go to the coast, he thinks that red fish tastes much better than a herd beast. Flying Thread and mating are done with the same single mindedness. If he catches the green, all the better for him. A chance to relieve some built up frustrations. If not, at least he had a good flight. Rarely does Florenith let a clump escape him and in fact, will chance down clumps that get past some of the bigger dragons.

Other: Jessan and Florenith were actually created for another custom event at SoP shop. They are based off my two younger sisters. The oldest of the two is pragmatic and kinda cynical by nature while my youngest sister is light hearted, a jokester who has her head in the clouds. Though Florenith seems to be a grumpy blue, he actually has a wicked sense of humor and likes to hide his rider's things.

During the Hatching, Florenith actually takes the longest picking his rider. He keeps going back to Jessan before finally settling on him. This should be an interesting match as Jessan loves everyone and Florenith is content to grumble at anyone not his ride.

RIDER INFORMATION

Name: Crimiel (C'miel post-impression)
Age: 20
Sex: Male
Orientation: Bisexual (gay only for older masculine men, otherwise strickly hetero)
Rank: Weyrbrat/Candidate

Physical Description: A bit on the taller side, Crimiel has grown into his body well, all ganglyness from childhood gone. He's a tad pale, not having the normal tan that comes with being in the sun much. Dark brown hair and hazel eyes, he seems to have a constant frown and crease between his eyebrows. His hair has grown long, just below his shoulders, since his first failed impression, cut halfhazardly to keep it from his eyes.

Personality: He comes off as a bit arrogant and straight-laced without meaning to. He's sarcastic in his speech, more from habit than any true antagonistic feelings to those he converses with. He has few close friends rather than many dispersed throughout the Weyr and works suprising well with others, often suprising those that require him for one thing or another, expecting him to be controlling and insufferably self-important. He borderes on stubborn-pride, and while he takes little issue following orders he has trouble holding his tounge when he finds someone in the wrong, despite potential rebutal.

History: Son of a well respected bronze rider and raised in a communal atmosphere, he had very little interaction with his parents, especially his mother. Despite this he still looks up to his father and closely watches the dragon riders acheivements.

He entered his first hatching at age 15, going in with high expectations by not only himself but others to impress. Confident he'd impress a bronze or a respectful brown.
His confidence recieved a hard blow as he failed to impress, humbling him slightly. Rather than dwell on the failed impressing he pulled himself from the post-failed impression depression, telling himself and other werybrats his dragon had simply not been within that specific clutch.

Since, he has been in multiple hutchings, each time rejected by the young clutchlings and not every time comming off the sands unharmed - a scar now running down his right leg from an over-eager brown attempting to reach his rider.

Because of his failed impression attempts he's often whispered about amoung the other weyr brats, many bordering on cruel in their comments, and subjected to pitying looks from Riders that he previously grew up with. In which he retaliated with a cold front, acting the arrogant weyrbrat, ssucceding in only furthering the dislike of others towards him.

Still he continues to enter hatchings, a small part of him hopeful to find the other half of his soul. Though it's seen more as an inability to move on by others.

Pets: A brown flitt named Toad.

Other/Talents: He's dabbed a bit in weaving, but is far from great at it.

Picture: Crimiel & Toad

DRAGON INFORMATION

Name: Lurenith

Color: Brown

Physical Description: Black Neon Tetra Egg: A large egg, though also very plain and forgetful. A light tan runs down the left side, abruptly cut by a black streak, separating the pale tan of the left side of the egg, and the ashy-brown of the right.

Lurenith is rather lean for a brown, though his larger wings disguise this fact rather well. His feet are on the big side, just below comically so. He lacks in speed, making up for it with his stamina, able to last out an entire thread fall should he be called to. He ends up sleeping the next day away, however, should he.

Lurenith ref
(Mm... Minus the stripes that run down the front of his legs (The ones that connect), just the stripes on his shoulders)

Personality/Other: Lurenith is a rather grumpy, possessive dragon. He's quite talkative, though it's usually only to add grouchy remarks to any conversation Crimiel finds himself in with another, forcing his Rider to hush him repeatedly as he just forgets a time later he was hushed in the first place. He considers himself the best, above any bronze his rider could have impressed, periodically reminding Crimiel of this. Near cackling that he had "Snatched you up, Mine, before they could reach you." and always demanding his riders undivided attention. He gets rather irritated when his Rider is needed to ride with another and their dragon, continuously grumping at Crimiel during the whole flight (Often to the amusment of the other Rider when there's relays to them Lureniths words.).

Despite his less than sunny disposition he's quick to rise to any occasion, especially should it reflect good on himself and thus Crimiel by association. Mostly resulting in teasing of Crimiel from other riders at Lureniths seemingly out of character need to please. He's rather fierce during thread falls, his rider having to keep tight control over him to keep him from breaking formation, much to Lureniths displeasure.

He rises very rarely - preferring an oil rub to expending his attentions to take chase. When he does rise he tends to use the opportunity more to show off than truly give chase, ending with a low success rate. He has a near non-existent sex drive, not even a rising queen able to rile up his want to give chase.

He gets on well with other dragons, enjoying their company in prescense only, though not the chatter.

Lurenith sunbathes near obsessively, always perched wherever there is sun, resulting in his Rider having to oil Lurenith more often than is usual. Crimiel had taken to thinking Lurenith does so purposely.

He's taken an odd liking to Toad, Crimiels flitt. Usually found borderline obnoxious by others (Even Crimiel at times), Lurenith instead finds the flitts odd habits terribly amusing and silly.

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: Alcine (pronounced AL-kin)
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Orientation: Bisexual (Though she'll swear by Faranth she only likes men)
Rank: Jr. Weyrling
Physical Description: Alcine is one of the paler members of the weyr, if for no other reason than her time spent in the caves. Even then, her skin is dotted with freckles on her face, arms, and shoulders, whatever skin she exposed during her summers outside. She keeps her long dirty-blonde hair back with a low braid that reaches halfway down her spine, though when not working she allows her bangs to frame her angular face and almond-shaped grey eyes. Tall and lithe, Alcine was once quite the clumsy little weyrbrat, but since then she's begun to adjust, developing into a modestly shapely young woman. Her clothing is always practical, when not wearing her actual work clothes, and is almost always in shades of brown, green, or grey. Alcine has never been the type to wear overly flashy or revealing clothing, and coupled with her modest figure, appears rather plain most days. On occasion, she dresses up for Gatherings and such, but usually she's simply too busy, her appearance not taking precendence over her work (and recently, her dragon).

Personality: Alcine is largely an introverted character, preferring her own personal weyr to the open commons. Deep down, she is good-humored, a tad rebellious, and quite the caring person, but has difficulty in showing it, sometimes making her come across as indifferent to those around her. This is quite the contrary: oftentimes she speaks not because she has nothing to say, but rather because she is observing. She loves people-watching, and has come to think of herself as someone who knows a little bit about most everyone, even if she's never been acquainted with more than half of them.

Try to get her to meet some of these people, however, and you remove her from her comfort zone, turning her into an anxious young woman who suddenly remembers something oh so important that only she can attend to. In fact, she often cites work as her excuse for a lack of social interaction, and if pushed into a corner, is not afraid of outright abandoning the situation in favor of "something she forgot to do". Her shyness derives largely from a slight inferiority complex carrying over from childhood, developed because of her self-comparison with her older brother. For the people she does manage to open up to, she feels an almost impulsive obligation to do favors and/or bestow gifts upon them, because deep down she realizes that, at some point, she will be dependent on them in return, and therefore strives to establish a good connection early on.

Alcine has long since had work ethic drilled into her, but it is not a naturally gained skill, and given the opportunity, she would lapse from her duties into the occasional flight of fancy. However, so long as she is kept occupied, she is able to stay on task, especially if she has a clear goal, or some other form of light at the end of the tunnel. Overall, Alcine prefers to work towards a specific "quota", and it bothers her not to have specific standards to follow.

History: Alcine herself was born at Telgar Hold, and for the longest time believed that she would handle watchwhers as an adult, just as her father had done. Her mother was a greenrider, but it never occured that Alcine would follow the same path: Raynn, the eldest boy, seemed more suited to the public life of a dragonrider, and somehow it was understood from an early age that Alcine was meant for less glamorous affairs. Their predictions came true when Alcine was 11 and Raynn, 15 at the time, Impressed Blue Tyth. In the meanwhile, Alcine continued to acquaint herself with watchwhers, largely content with her chosen life and promised a wher of her own when she turned her brother's age.

However, tension rose when Alcine turned 15 and was searched by Tyth himself. Her father was convinced that the omen meant only that she would be even better suited for the whers, and her mother outright refused to recognize the choice. Their joint reactions caused Alcine to think that all her life her parents had been playing favorites to R'ynn, and in a daring move, refused to allow a wher to bond to her, forcing her father to kill the unbonded wherling.

After a series of heated arguments in the home of Alcine, her parents reluctantly allowed her two years of Candidacy, more to prove a point than with any expectation of her actually Impressing. The first time she went to the Hatching Sands, she expected to dazzle her parents with a dragonet, asserting herself once and for all, but nothing. A second hatching occured. Again, nothing, and one dragonet actually Betweened itself rather than taking Alcine, who by then was beginning to think that maybe, her parents were right. Disheartened, she nevertheless continued with her candidacy, until she realized that her deadline was nearing and that, soon, she would have to admit defeat.

After hearing news of the double clutch at Ista, she begged her brother to take her to the Hatchings there, with the included promise to her parents that, should she not Impress, she would give up her two-year struggle. Even with a few months left in the agreement, there were no eggs hardening at the sands of High Reaches, and she was beginning to enjoy the idea of having a wher of her own, a creature that wouldn't Between itself over having her as a companion. She stood for the first Hatching, but was unsuccessful, and is now facing the stress of her final hatching before officially becoming a wherhandler.

Pets: None, yet, though I have a bronze flit from the Secret Santa that she would eventually Impress.

Other/Talents: After Impressing Brassaeuth, Alcine will begin to have the aforementioned issues with her sexuality (considering that browns usually Impress males and all that). I would like to use this as one of her on-going plots, including the development of crushes for weyrlings of both genders and Brassaeuth's participance in a flight, resulting in Alcine being put in a very...compromising position. If NPC Dragonriders from other weyrs are allowed, I would love to play with the tension between her and her brother as well.
Picture: None at the moment (all of them are old)

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Brassaeuth
Color: Brown
Physical Description: Snowflake Moray Egg The base of this larger egg itself is actually black, but you wouldn't be able to tell based upon the frequent white spots littered over, occasionally lessening up into areas that appear to be black bands. In these bands, the spots are not white, but rather a pale yellow, and towards the top of the egg the entire pattern fades into the same creamy shade. The pattern of the egg seems to draw attention from the others on purpose, and is almost overly flashy.

Brassaeuth is a medium shade of sepia, though he is distinctly patterned like the snowflake moray: up and down most of his body is a series of dark brown stripes, occasionally splattered with light tan spots over these stripes. His maw and head knobs are the same dark brown as his stripes, and fade to the medium tone, whereas his outer wings display a greater number of the lightly colored spots. He is large for a brown, and over time will grow to one of the bigger browns at the weyr.
Personality: Brassaeuth might not be a metallic, but you wouldn't know it by his personality. To him, everything must be fantastic and grand, and you must have a fantastic and grand time while doing it. Were it not for his more-humble rider, he would certainly be wingleader, if not weyrleader himself!--at least, he would be in his own mind. If something isn't entirely fun enough, he fixes it to his liking, much to the dismay of his rider, and whenever Brassaeuth is having fun, there is usually some sort of Hell to be raised afterwards. Brassaeuth is the type of dragon to attempt flying before his weyrling lesson, to participate in the queen's flight just to anger the other bronzes, and takes no shame in bugling to wake up his bonded (as well as half the weyr).

He is just as proud of Alcine as he is of himself, and unlike herself, will not tolerate others looking down on her. He must showcase her, throw her into the spotlight!--Even literally, if need be. In his mind, he is simply being a good dragon for his rider, and is unable to understand that Alcine is not as attention-happy as he. This pride carries over into protectiveness, and for this reason he is especially careful of his "Mine", mostly because he feels that she cannot sufficiently care for herself in a fabulous way.
Other: While it may not seem like a good match at first glance, Brassaeuth works for Alcine because he keeps her motivated during the times when she would lapse into laziness (if for no other reason than to have to chase him around and keep him out of trouble), and because he sometimes is able to bring out the reckless side in her, however rare an occurance that is. He will force her to be in socially awkward situations, meet new people, and open up to the world, and ultimately the act will complete her as a person.

RIDER INFORMATION
Name: Nelioa
Age: 16
Sex: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Canidate
Physical Description: A tall scrap of a girl budding into womanhood, her body hasn't yet caught up with the idea of growing into proper proportions. In fact she could be mistaken as a young lad at first glance should one not look to long. As she stands now she is too long and lanky to be a propper girl. Her long legs are well suited for running and are starting to build a firmer muscle. She has bright blue eyes that almost seem a bit too large for her slender face. Her long ebony hair is normally pulled back in a loose pony tail or braid to keep it out of her face. One day when she fills out she might have a form..somewhere. Until then she remains almost as strait as stick.
Personality: Nelioa is not a shy girl and when faced with meeting new people she will gladly present herself. Though she may feel nervous around a group of adults she will do her task and more often than not make a bumbling fool of herself in the process. A little on the clumbsy side when her head is in the clouds.

She is care free and optomistic of what the next day will bring. A childlike youth to fit her body. As would many a young youth she would rather spend her day carelessly lounging in the sun or off sneaking about forbidden places. Always one for a little adventure or excitement.

Scrubbing pots or cooking are things she greatly dislikes, which is one of the reasons why its given to her as a punishment. She will do just about anything to get out of it, including helping her mother with healing (though her mother hardly accsepts anymore as its more trouble than its worth).

Dirt doesnt bother her and she enjoys outside activities such as helping to gather herbs and if she can get the chance to slip away a good hike around the weyr grounds. Nothing is worse than being stuck inside of the weyr due to bad weather for hours on end. No only due to the lack of fresh air, but also because when you get everyone cramped up together generall dispositions go sour quickly. More often than not she cant dally about her tasks as much, which is her main issue with being indoors.

Addmittedly she is a little lazy, she doesnt like to do much in the form of tasks or chores. She doesnt have any drive for what the future may bring besides thinking about what she wants to do the next day. More than once she has had more work piled on top of her for trying to avoid it, and scrubbing pots tossed on top for good mesure. Not much holds her intrest for long which in part is why she hasnt chosen or been selected for a craft.

She lacks much in talent, if there is a way to mess something up, generally she will find it. If the girl didnt have bad luck it is said she wouldnt have any luck at all. Though maybe if she spent half as much time trying to just do as she is told rather than trying to get out of doing it she wouldnt have that problem.

Hatchings are exciting times, and while the accutal event is something of delight she hates the preperation time before hand. People from all over being shuttled in by dragon to watch the impressions all the food that needs cooking. Things are so busy during that time that while she can often sneak away for a few moments to herself she is often found out and then directed to make herself useful some where.

History: Having grown up in the weyr she learned the ins and outs as soon as she was old enough to walk and run. While trouble isnt always something someone wants it seems to find her in more ways than one, needless to say she has spent alot of time in the kitchens scrubbing the most unsavory pots.

Rulioa, her mother had a soft touch and was one of the weyr's healers. For a long time her mother had sought to have her follow in that path but the sight of blood often made Nelioa's stomach churn. When she was young she had fallen and gashed her leg open while running through the weyr. There had been a lot of blood and to this day she has a scar near her knee. Her mother had done her best to patch her up, ease her pain with numbweed but the blood had just kept coming.

Growing up with out a father never hindered her life. There was more than enough chores to be dished out around the weyr and enough eyes on her that she felt safe inside its walls. When ever the subject of her father,Nellaren, was brought up her mother would change the subject but she had always noted the tone of sadness in her mothers voice. After awhile she just stopped asking to save her mother the pain. Her father remains a mystery to her to this day save but a name and the title of dragon rider and rumors.

Perhaps being a single parent and wanting to lavish all her love on her children caused her mother to give her too much freedom. Having learned the art of skirting her chores and making them take much longer than they should with detores around the weyr, she had often scouted the best hiding places to call her own.

Her younger brother was always a pain in her side. A shining example of everything she wasnt. While she always seemed to try her best her brother seemed to do everything with a flawless grace. Her envy for him went beyond sibling rivalry. Though she loved him dearly as her kin she wished that she possesed even half his talent.

When the time came for choosing the candidates she never in her wildest dreams thought she would be chosen. Her breath had caught in her chest and it was one of the few times this strong, lanky young girl had looked as shocked as a wherry caught in a snare.

Pets: Her mother had been given an flitt egg as a thank you for her hard work at the weyr over the years. Having never liked the creatures much and not seeing them of use she passed the egg off to her daughter. Nelioa has never been so thankful. It later hatched into a little green that can be seen with her no matter where she is. (have posted for re-cert)

Other/Talents: A slight affinity for drawing but little more than doodles and sketches.
Picture: (if you have one) None currently

DRAGON INFORMATION
Name: Seidreth
Color: Blue
Physical Description: Colored simmilar to that of a Blue Lionfish Egg: The medium sized egg is a light blue with the fairest hints of a darker blue veins or stripes running through it.

Seidreth's stomach is a pale blue following up his muzzle. Going down his head and along his back is a darker shade of blue. His body is accsented by stripes of yet a darker shade. His wings are a deep blue with the fine membrane the same pale color as his stomach.

Personality: Seidreth knows he has a purpose and will do his best to follow in his set path. He is head strong and when he knows he is right he wont back down for any reason. This can cause problems as sometimes its wiser to bow out than it is to stay and fight. He is high spirited, and some would almost say antsy. He always has to have something to do, and if he doesnt he will find something.

He isnt the largest of dragons but what he lacks in size he makes up for with stuborn intent and an egerness to get the job done. He will drive himself to be the best he personally can be, even if that isnt the best when compared to someone else. It is foolsih to compare his standards to that of a bronze, but it wont stop him from pushing himself to new personal standards.

Other: Seirath will be constantly pushing Nelioa to better herself and to drive herself to think beyond the next day. Though she may groan about it and maybe even bicker with him about completing a task, or getting up early to get in a good run or flight before errands. His drive completes her and fills that void that she was lacking. Her laid back approch helps reel him in just a little when he would push himself too far.
