Come on in and enjoy the atmosphere of a calm, serene room. You will find that there are books to one side of the room and to the otherside, something of a scene painted on the wall. It displays trees and a lake at sunset. These trees aren't just trees though....they are much more. They are great oaks with wide branches and sturd trunks. They are shelter to the small creatures that live beneath them. Not only that, though, oh no, there seems to be figures of small children and swans. It all related to a tale that she loved and would often recall in lonely times to renew her strength. The water seemed to shimmer as you moved about the room, you could almost hear the wind skimming through the trees and over the water as you make yourself comfortable in the clearly casual atmosphere. The flooring is simply wood, smooth and polished to a nice shine that you can see yourself in. At the far end of the room, a few tapastries hang in succession as if showing another story, similar to the one on the wall, yet very different. They seem to be panels showing the progression of a story having to do with a young girl who lives in the light, then meets a man and is now forever in darkness. They move from a life with the man to a life alone to a life with company and then alone once more and finally within a large house of somekind. it was her story and she added panels as needed to show major events. Behind those panels, you would find a coffin, if you were permitted to see it. It is a fairly simple design. She had had roses carved into the bottom that twine up the sides and end towards the top. At the head of my coffin is a simple cross added upon her rejoining with Christ. It was made of fine oak wood and polished and stained into a lovely dark shade with the roses painted in with pale to dark reds and greens. When you walk in, you will more than likely find her sitting upon the floor, as there are no formal chairs, a-top a cushion with careful embroidery. Each of the large cushions that are scattered througout the welcome area each have their own shade and design.

Alistair carefully opened the heavy wooden door. "Here we are...." she said as light slowly poured into the room. "Umm.....hold on a moment please...." She rushed in and lit a few of the candles, even though it wasn't necessarily needed, and then she pulled back her great tapastry to reveal a stone base for her coffin to rest upon. "Place it here, thank you....Sir Rauvn, you are an amazing help!" She smiled at him and would have given him a hug had he not been so strange about being touched.

Rauvn smiled at Alistair as he walked to the place she had indicated. Carefully, he lowered the coffin from his shoulder and begin to slide it back in the recess in the wall. He pushed until he heard it clunk softly against the back of the recess. He turned back to her and smiled yet again. He reached up and begin to rub at his shoulder. "Well, that wasn't so bad." He began to walk about the room, gazing at the decor. "I like your room." He stopped to gaze at a tapestry.

She smiled, "Thank you, I do too. That tapastry is a family heirloom....only it was never passed on from my person to my child as I have no children." She smiled as she gently ran her willowy fingers across the threads. "It's required quite a bit of upkeeping to keep those colors so bright. But, what else could I do when there was nothing to do but that?" she asked with a sideways sort of smile.

Rauvn smiled rather wryly. "You have had centuries, haven't you?" He ran his hand down the tapestry. "What story is it that it tells, m'lady?" He kept his gaze fixed on the tapestry, fixated by its beauty.

She gave him a rather large smile and a small laugh. "Oh, this is my favorite story, actually. It has always given me hope through the ages." Then, she took a deep breath. "it is about these seven children here, six boys and one girl, Sorcha. They grew up on their own for the most part as Sorcha's mother died giving birth to her. So, her father became deeply troubled and saddend by this because once my people fall in love, there is no real falling out of love. He went away to war and was rarely at the castle as he was the leader of our people in Sevenwaters at the time. Lord Column was very much the stereotypical war lord, only, he didn't cause the war, the Brits did." She sighed and then plunged back into the story. "Upon his longest visit, he brough back a new wife who turns out to be a sourceress. Sorcha doesn't trust her from the very beginning but everyone else, with the exception of her second youngest brother. They were all older than her, if you didn't pick up on that. The six of them were turned into swans by the soceress when they tried to defeat her....Sorcha was the only one left and she had a grand mission ahead of her, it was one of silence and pain.....There is a book on it and I shan't tell you the rest." She smiled at him and laughed.

Rauvn smiled and laughed. "Oh, you have me quite interested now." With a mischievous grin and a sideways glance at Alistair, he reached back out to tapestry, his hand running down it again. Such an intriguing story and she intrigues me ever more. "And where might I find this book, m'lady?" He moved over to a cushion laying on the floor. "And might I take a seat?"

Alistair nodded and guestured for him to sit, "Oh, be my guest....just give me a moment to locat that book....." Then, she wandered over to the opposite side of the room and paused before a particular section of her book case. Running her fingers down the isle, she abruptly stopped and produced the book from the shelf. Then, crossing over to where he was again, she sat down on the cushion next to his and handed him the book. I'm intriguing? How interesting....

"Daughter of the Forest", he says slowly, a smile spreading across his lips. "Would you mind if I borrowed this for a bit?" He proceeded to cross his legs to sit indian-style on the cushion. He felt comfortable, at home, within the room. Maybe it was because of the likeness to his own, but it somehow made him relax.

She nodded, "Oh yes, of course you may....that is what it is for after all. You may borrow it as long as you like. I really do enjoy it. I'm sure you can tell though....the cover is starting to come off from reading it too many times." She laughed softly as she handed it over to him.

He laughed softly as he took the book. "I can tell, yes." He carefully tucked the book into an inner pocket of his coat. "So, what else do you like to read about?" He grimaced slightly then regained his composure. I really need a blood pack...

She smiled at him, "Since you're so hungry, I'm sure we could run in the back and pull you one out of my ... store..."She smiled again and then stood up. "I read fiction, non fiction, history, science, theology, philosphy, psychology, etc..."

Rauvn smiled wryly. "I keep forgetting you can do that. I don't suppose I shall ever truly get used to it." His tongue licked his lips as his mind drifted to blood. He shook his head, regaining himself. "Yes, if you don't mind. I would find a way to repay you, of course." His smile was soft and genuine.

Smiling, she replied in a light, airy sort of way, "Don't worry about it. I know someone who owns a blood bank, it's not a big deal." She smiled again and then drifted to the back of her room. From a small cell in the base of her coffin, she extracted a packet and brought it back to him. "Here's a starter, if you want more, just let me know." She carefully handed it off to him and then turned abruptly, her long hair following an a flowing path a little slower than herself. She walked back behind the tapastry once again and closed the cell once more. Then, she swiftly returned to the seet that she had gotten out of.

He accepted the blood packet with a smile. "Thank you, m'lady." He opened the top of the packet and sipped slowly at it. "that's much better." He continued to sip at the packet occasionally. "So, tell me. What do you do besides read to pass the time?" He looked at her, curiousity intense upon his face.
