Sidescrolling beat 'em ups! pirate
The thread is more simple then my half sleep deprived wall of text from the last. Just go forth and simply state your: ~Favorites~ (current or past) How you felt when you first played them. Do you still play 'em now?
~Hatredy~ What "beat 'em ups" you loathe or just plain dislike? How or why did that happen?
~Overall thought about the genre~ Do you play beat'em ups frequently?

Oh god yes! I love these kinds of games. My boyfriend and I have spent hours playing Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Final Fight.. you name it, we'll play it. I definitely think sidescrollers are best played with another person.. otherwise it gets really boring. And more often than not, the music in these games rule.

Super Cheesio Favorite: Brawl Least favorite: Dunno Brawl's not really a "beat 'em up" in the traditional sense. He's talking about old-school games where you actually punch your enemies to death on a 2D plane. If you're talking about Subspace, I guess you could classify that as one, but it's pretty terrible. xd Anyway, River City Ransom is pretty awesome, but Ninja Turtles II is probably my favorite.

I love these kinds of games. X-Men, TMNT, Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and my personal favorite, Captain ********' Commando.

I'm all about Streets of Rage. There's something about tossing thugs off an elevator 10 stories up that never gets old.

I guess Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV Turtles in Time would be the winner for me. Any Megaman game that has Zero and I can play as Zero would be the rest of my beat 'em ups.

I don't play a whole lot of beat 'em ups. But the ones the ones i've played were pretty fun. I spent the most time on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the GBA. That games awesome, just short. But I replayed it many times.
