Name: Briar ("Bree")
Age: 17 Turns
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Baker
Rank: Apprentice - Baker

Physical Description:
Briar is a petite girl, standing at approximately 5'3" in height. She has a slender build which could be said to be a balance between a 'stick like' figure and a very, very mild hourglass; maintained through her busy schedule. She is a pretty creature, but has very few 'notable' features that would take an individual's breath away when they walk passed her - i.e. It would be inaccurate to call her ugly, but equally so to call her 'drop dead gorgeous'. When asked she will generally describe herself as 'average' which fits rather well.

She has typically light skin, partially tanned from exposure to the sun and hazel eyes - a single freackle of brown exists in the iris in the right eye. Her hair is loosely waved and mahogany-esque in colour, but with exposure to the light (especially in summer) tends to cause tiny strands of copper to appear in her hair...a feature she tends to ignore. Said hair is often tied back via a strand of twine and pressed into place via a hat, usually draping down her right shoulder to keep it out of her way.

In terms of overall appearance she is as one would expect from an individual who lives within a hold. She isn't expensively dressed but she does take pride in the clothes she does have, usually wearing a simplistic shift dress and an apron over the top to keep it clean as she works. These dresses usually vary from green to blue colours as these are her favourite colours, but she will wear whatever she happens to find when she opens her drawers if needs must.

Personality:
Briar is a very passionate young woman who strives to make sure that her father's bakery/kitchen runs as smoothly as a well oiled rig. As a result she often presents herself as a breathless young woman with very little time to discuss any gossip that might come her way. She works by her own schedule, has her own set routine and may the gods help whoever disturbs her while she's working as they may find themselves at the wrong end of her broomstick! All this work is done for her family of course, who she loves dearly and remains proud of their achievements even though her father never achieved the lofty ranks of a 'Master' in his Hall.

Her busy body nature aside, Briar is very good with her hands and incredibly artistic. She has great enthuasiasm for the 'wonders' she creates when she does have the opportunity to bake. Admittedly these wonders are not as good as a journeyman or a master's creations but she tends to her duties with as much love, care and self-professed 'skill' that she might as well be one! However, it is advisable not to mention the numerous mishaps she's had throughout her learning curve in the kitchen as these jests aren't often received well. If one has the desire to tease her it's probably better to wait until she's unarmed!

When it comes to the outside world and the unrest that some might feel, she remains oblivious to it. With her world revolving around her father's bakery and her 'goal in life' to achieve the lofty heights that he has as a journeyman, she simply doesn't have the time. To her all this chatter of 'threadfall' is nothing more than a myth, the last person to speak of threadfall and claim to have seen it was her great-great-great grandfather and he was notably senile. As a result of this mindset she can't really understand what all the fuss is about and why some people continue to stare up at the sky warily. Life is for living, socialising and enjoying - she considers them nuts to be dwelling on something that won't ever happen in her eyes...after all, 100 turns or so is a very long time.

As to the Weyrs? It's probably best not to talk to her about the dragonriders, individuals who she currently resents for forcing her people to give them the best supplies for doing what appears to be nothing. She can't fathom the reason behind paying individuals when they do absolutely nothing (after all, threadfall is a myth) when the money and supplies could be divided out between the folks who really need them in the holds.

Set aside the potential for numerous misunderstandings with the young woman, delve deep into her psyche and you'll discover that she's really not that bad. Her passion and busy body nature can often be very overwhelming to a stranger but to those who are accustomed to her behaviour she's a pleasant individual. She has a reasonably good sense of humour (though remains oblivious to certain genres of it) and can be generous. She is not adverse to helping the neighbours nearby when necessary and can be a very good listener provided the person doesn't mind her cooking or sweeping around them as they talk.

History:
Briar was raised in a typical family, she has both a mother and father who she loves dearly. She was schooled as every other child was and grew up in an environment where she was encouraged to pursue her dreams... dreams she wasn't entirely sure of for quite some time. Growing up she took a liking to her father's profession and eventually chose to follow in his footsteps, applying to become an apprentice Baker for which she discovered she did have a knack for despite the numerous accidents that did occur throughout her training... Eventually she swore that she would attain the lofty heights of a Journeyman and then maybe a master but that's 'far into the future' in her books.

Suffering from homesickness, she returned home to assist her father in running his own tiny bakery and has been there since. She lives an unassuming and modest life, expecting very little than a happy and quiet existence to enjoy. Despite these expectations there are memorable moments that tend to revolve around her little 'accidents' but for the most part she has lived without drama for as long as she can remember and hopes for it to continue.

Pets:
Green Firelizard called Pooky - SS Cert Here (Need recerted).

Green Firelizards are notorious for being a little 'dtizy' and forgetful in terms of where they leave their clutches. Bree would argue that her discovery of this "little midget" was not so much goodluck as some form of cruel joke. Pooky was one of the few firelizard eggs that survived from that small clutch and she was previously unaware that it had even been left in the sands by the lake until it was too late. When Pooky hatched, she was so close to Bree and her lunch that it was an immediate impression - drawn towards the baker's food she was quick to nab it.

The tiny green lizard stole the majority of Bree's lunch and went so far as to devour it even as the poor girl attempted to wrestle it from it's grasp. Unfortunately from that point on the bond was set and Bree couldn't shake the little critter for the life of her. She understands that to some individuals a firelizard is a symbol of wealth but if she's entirely honest Pooky gets up her goat.

Bree IS fond of the little dragon but the pair are notorious for their turbulent relationship where Pooky is frequently seen kidnapping freshly baked goods and Bree is not far behind in pursuit of the 'thief'. Busy-body Bree's voice can be heard in the early hours of the morning roaring after her mischeivous pet much to the chagrain of those who like to sleep in beyond 4am.

That being said while Pooky infuriates her, she'd never leave her behind.

Other/Talents:
She has a knack for sketching/painting/sculpting through her baking. She also has a reasonable singing voice (though not a strong one) that can be heard while she's drifting in and out of daydreams throughout the day e.g. Cleaning, walking, cooking...

Will this character be a candidate?
This is a complicated question for me. At PRESENT she doesn't foresee herself as being a candidate and isn't terribly concerned with that sort of thing either. However after development and RP I'm aiming to shift that stance slightly.

At present - No
In Future - Possibility

I have no intention of applying for her to be a candidate anytime soon though.

You can get the flit recerted. There's a thread on the main page of the guild. :3 but yes, if you do so, just add a little blurb as to how she got the flitter and what not.

Alrighty, I just wasn't sure if I was allowed to apply for a recert with her name on it without her being approved. =3

Info slotted in.

I read the Flit's impress via food and used that to my advantage. n_n
