Saturday, April 11, on BBC1!6:45 London time 12:45pm EST 9:45am PST BBC According to this month's issue of Doctor Who Magazine the title of the next in the series of specials will be revealed at the end of Planet of the Dead, along with a short trail. The second special, directed by Graeme Harper, features the Doctor plunged into a world of terror. It is expected to air in the autumn. Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts are the writers for this episode. Gareth has written "The Shakespeare Code" and "The Unicorn and the Wasp" for Doctor Who, as well as a good number of episodes for The Sarah Jane Adventures. Planet of the Dead is apparently the 200th episode of Doctor Who, as well as the first episode to be filmed in HD. This thread is for speculation and comments up until the airing of the episode, when many of us non-UK fans will run and hide until we've seen it. xD (It'd be nice if big spoilers were whited out until April 11, but it's up to you) After the episode, anyone who's brave enough to wade through spoilers can stick around and discuss the good, the bad, and anything else worth poking with a stick. biggrin

Five whole days left. I'm really looking forward to this, but at the same time not. Anyone else feeling the same?
I haven't heard anything else about anything yet. :c

I had seen a trailer online. I was surprised that the Beeb hadn't pounced on YouTube for hosting it.
It looks awesome and now that I know that I probably will get my hopes up over some brave 'Tuber posting it and me getting to see it before it gets removed...
I'm glad I don't know much more about it than that, but if I can't see it I will probably be avoiding teh internets for a while! sweatdrop

BBC is probably not minding as much since it's so close to the air date -- three days away!!
And can you believe that the *Christmas* episode hasn't been aired in the US yet? gonk
I don't blame ya for avoiding internets, I did too until I'd seen the last special. whee

Don't forget that Gareth Roberts also wrote the interactive mini-episode "Attack of The Graske", which is playable through the games section on the Who website. The only thing that makes me mad is this is the only new Who till Christmas.

Possible spoiler but, My Dad has a theory that the companion is Iris Wildtime from the audios, hence the double decker red bus, and the character is called lady something...

The only thing that makes me mad is this is the only new Who till Christmas. Right! Other than being important as a mini-sode, it also identified some of the levers and devices that the Doctor uses to pilot the Tardis. smile And yeah, we've gotta start pulling out the episodes to give ourselves sanity. Only bonus is that there's audios and books as well to keep us occupied. smile

Oh dear.
Worse than Love and Monsters and at least that was funny and not nearly as long.
Wish Russel'd move on already and stop insisting on soiling his own legacy :/

So just finished watching planet of th dead. spoiler warning
Oh the whole I enjoyed it. A few things I didnt like is the actress playing the companion roll (the character was ok), the fact he let her go and gave he the bus at the end and the fact that they kissed! Lamo. Also is it me or is UNIT bcoing like the old torchwood? But over all it had its funny moments, drama and fun. Have to say the christmas epd was better.
So his song is coming to the end but whats with the 4 knocks?

I'm sorry but to my mind, the episode was as dull and lifeless as the planet it was set on. Faceless secondary characters sat around while the doctor fixes a bus with space magic. The doctor practically lets someone die and for once doesn't even attempt to look concerned about it. UNIT being deployed only to provide a trademark RTD explosion-happy ending. Poor old Lee Evans having to ham it up with absolute drivel as dialogue. And to cap it all off it has patent Russel T Davies continuity wank stamped onto the end so we'll all watch it ten years down the track and think we've tuned into the first of a two-parter.
The one hour special format doesn't seem to be working really, does it?
