Riulve sat next to her daughter Wynni in the classroom. Today they were altering a set of boy's toddler clothing. On one side of Riulve sat a stack of clothes that Wynni had already cut holes into and to the other side of the white haired woman sat a bunch of files and reports. The one currently on top was Ebony's.
The tall woman was showing signs of her pregnancy via a slight bump outlined by the t-shirt she wore. For the most part the two were waiting for the next student to wander through the door. Unlike the last few classes the lessons and skillset were already planned, the student just needed to appear.

Soon enough, a small knock was heard at the door to the classroom. The purple skinned child had recently been dropped off by her mother for another visit to the facility. However, this time, instead of it being purely to visit friends, she was at the place for a class they'd required her to take. Now she just had to go in, learn a new skill from whoever was teaching, and then pop around to see people. Not a bad deal in and of itself.

Not feeling much like shouting Riulve nodded to her daughter, "Go open that for the pupil. I believe it might be Ebony."
Wynni giggled and nodded as she placed down the scissors and slowly got up. Ignoring the tingle through the limbs from them having actually fallen asleep from sitting mostly still she made her way to the door and opened it, "Hi! Mom is being a little lazy." The spawn said cheerfully with a giggle as she waved at Ebony to get in. She was as always excited to see her friend.

"Oh that's okay. It's nice to see you both! But I didn't know you'd be here - you teach, Miss Riulve?" the purple girl asked of the woman as she smiled and waved over to her. The wave, was of course followed by giving Wynni a warm hug around her midsection.
"How've you two been? And how is Puck?" Such a social creature she was, no serious class taught by friends could begin for her without a bit of small talk.

Riulve nodded as the purple girl was let in and spoke to her, "Yes I do, pup. I was surprised to see that you were up for a class, and pleased as well. Glad you could come." The tall woman said warmly, "Come and sit, no need standing about."
Wynni giggled as she nodded to Ebby and hugged back, "He is good! He is with brother Mana back at home."

The spawn was smiling cheerily as she proceeded over towards Ri and taking one of the free seats.
"What shall we be working on today? Sewing?" she asked, noting the items the woman was working on. It was mere curiosity to ask, Ebby had no objections to learning such a thing. Sewing was nice and very useful.

Riulve nodded as she set her current article down, "Puck's clothes need a certain amount of altering, as I am sure you saw." The woman laughed lightly, "This is also a good way to teach you some coordination with the hands and eyes. I am sure this is something you will do rather well in," the woman explained as she got a scrap piece of cloth, a needle, and a thimble out and scooted it toward the girl.
"The thimble is, of course, to protect your finger from being pricked. I suggest you wear it just in case. No one is immune to accidents."
Wynni settled nearby and giggled as she once more took up the scissors and began the process of cutting once more.

"Oh sure. I don't wanna get pricked." Ebby agreed, putting on the small metal object just in case. She would have put it on anyway, seeing as Riulve was an adult - one she trusted - who suggested she needed to wear it. And seeing as Ri was the teacher, it was probably best to follow her instructions, practical reasons or no.
Taking up the rest of what she'd been offered, the purple child got ready to work. "Okay, how do I start?"

Once Ebby seemed ready to learn Riulve got up and moved closer to the girl and held her hands, which had an unthreaded needle and some thread, in clear view of the girl, "First, we must thread the needle. This is probably the hardest part as you must get the thread through the eye of the needle, which is what the loop on the needle is called. Come, do it with me, you will learn best this way."
Riulve demonstrated with calm, practiced hands how to thread the needle and watched Ebony carefully to see if she had any troubles at all.

It took Ebby a few times trying to get the thread through the hole but eventually she got it. It was mostly just the making sure a tiny little bit of thread went in right instead of out or around. She didn't want to hold too close to the end because even though it might give her more control, she'd be unable to make it fit because her fingers are in the way.
"Got it!" she exclaimed proudly when the needle finally was threaded right. "There we go, Miss Ri, what next?"

Riulve nodded, "Very good, now you can either tie the end in a knot or you can choose to hold onto it as you sew on the scrap, depending on how it is done it can secure itself," Riulve took a moment to demonstrate both methods to the girl before her on her own scrap of cloth, making sure to lean close so that the girl could see each method.
"Now you try," She said after a couple of demonstrations.
Wynni simply watched with keen interest in between cutting shirts.

Ebby had to peer very closely to see what Ri was doing with the small thread but after a while she got the idea. It took a few more moments of practicing - at one point she slipped and the thread came out of the needle again but a bit of fumbling was all it took and things were back on track. Eventually she got her knot done and showed it to Ri, having decided to just try the more secure method first and worry about trying to hold it later.
"Okies."

Once more Riulve supervised and nodded approvingly when the work was shown to be satisfactory, "Very nice, Ebby," the woman praised, "Now let's practice a couple of stitches," She said with a nod. First she demonstrated a couple of rows of just straight-line stitches. They seemed easy enough to. Riulve was careful to show Ebony both sides of the cloth so she could see how it should look when done.
"Don't worry too much if you don't get it right straight away, with practice you will figure it out easily."

Ebbs tried the stitches as she'd been shown. Like with the other bits, she had to practice a few times before getting even close to right. After she'd gotten them started off at all, they were a bit crooked and out of whack but she took time and observed Ri's example a few times before she tried again, attempting to get them straight. This could be very very frustrating.

Riulve smiled a bit as she watched the girl for a few moments and nodded, "You are doing very well for a beginner, and you will master it in no time." She reassured the girl quietly with a small pat on the shoulder, "When you are ready for a break let me know, we shall have a bit of juice and a light snack then we shall take up the needle again before you must leave us."
Wynni nodded and giggled, "You're doing very well Ebby!"
