The sun shone high in the clouds above the land, extending its warmth over the great range below. The last of the morning chill was now passing, and the pleasant afternoon air was taking over Kelleopia. With the harshness of Winter now passing its reigns over to Spring, glorious days like this one would no longer be a rarity, and all of the Snowy Mountain's inhabitants could take advantage of the season's bounty.
All, that is, but one.
A disgruntled female tromped through the snow, huffing angrily with each step she took. Her eyes were narrow and serious, and her mouth formed a terrible scowl.
"SO CLOSE" she snapped at herself, "and STILL it got away."
She snorted loudly. The humility of returning from a solo hunt with nothing to show is one thing... but considering the production she'd put on before leaving, things would be down right unbearable.
WHY did I have to go and open my big mouth she thought, I know I'm a good hunter... yet they still manage to get to me. Her scowl dropped further down, her ears now going back. Stupid Boon and Rummy... now I'm going to look like a fool in front of the whole hunting party...
She was unsure if she even wanted to head back to main group... lest her shame be publicized even further. Her pride was hurt enough already, anything further would just add insult to injury.
Rashbah's head drooped below her shoulders. I wish daddy was here.

Ari rounded yet another curve she was bored seemed all they did was send her out and about, no one liked her around maybe if she was nicer? She gave a growl and shrugged no way in hell she was gonna be nicer.
At least being out here she didn't have to deal with their overly dumb remarks of "well, did you find anything, if not get back out there"
You would think they would be happy when patrols brought nothing back but no they figured you must have missed it..... She growled swinging her left paw slashing the snow and sending it off in all directions.
Maybe they should send a brown saber to scout she was seen a mile away......

Dáire yawned as the sun filtered down through the trees, warming his dark, spotty hide rather pleasantly. The big male was more than happy that the harsh time of winter was coming to an end, and he welcomed warmer days and better hunting. Stretching at the entrance of his makeshift den, a large, abandoned hole he'd found. Dug out by some other creature, he had taken it for himself, not caring if the original owner had returned.
As he stretched, and yawned, a soft voice reached his ears, and they swiveled to pick up the noise, fair and faint as it was. A female was nearby. He hopped up and stalked off through the snow to investigate, a wry grin on his face as he kept his eyes open for movement. He finally spied the female sabre, and chuckled inwardly...no doubt she was part of one of the neighboring prides.
He watched from an embankment of snow as she passed by. It was no wonder she had missed out, he thought, the whole forest was probably able to hear her. He decided to shadow her, and stalked along through the snow, stealthy and quiet, and interested to see how long it would take for her to notice that she was being followed.

Meanwhile, another saber was nearby, frolicking in the snow. There was nothing particularly elegant about the great bounds he moved in, especially when he occasionally fell over and planted his face in the powder. He was barely even old enough to be considered an adult, and his parents would likely still be gnawing his ears with their tired worryings when he got back for being out so long. For the moment, however, he was joyously free. Until he ran out of breath, anyways, and had to stop.
A thought crossed his mind, for but a moment - just how far out was he? He had been at his leaping game for a while. Was he far enough out to run into a patrol? He shook his head - he couldn't be that far out!
With a second wind, he bounded off again, but changed his course in a direction that would, he thought, take him a little loser to home, anyways.[[lol hai gais can i play]]

Rashbah couldn't help but feel sorry for herself. She wasn't an overly prideful Saber, but the fact that it was her idiot brothers that caused this... just added icing atop the 'suck' cake.
"Its no small wonder why Dad's always so short with them" she huffed under her breath.
She sighed. He could smooth this over for her... make her feel less foolish. If only he would be standing there, waiting for her to arrive back. Then he'd teach those two hooligans a lesson.
Suddenly a figure in the distance caught Rash's eye. She inhaled deeply, trying to asses who it was. The scent was a familiar one, certainly a Fallenstand. Probably a scout, or a member of the Patrol walking the territory. For a moment, she almost wished that was still her job.
But something else called her attention back... another sent... but this one wasn't familiar to her. She stopped, sniffing the air intently... quietly... The more she took in, the less familiar the sent became. Her heart started to race. Oh god... could it be? Her eyes darted in every direction. Please... not one of them...
She was tempted to call out to her brethren in the distance, but it was clear that the other Saber was alone as well... and even two Fallenstand couldn't defeat a Frostcreek assassin. She would have to do something... something quick... but what?

Ari turned her head to the ground taking a deep breath of the air.... To much... suddenly her nose was clogged with snow. "AAAHCHOOOOOO"
Falling on her back side she snorted snow as her ears even started to ring. Oh this wasn't turning out to be her day. Still snorting and blowing snow out her nose she surveyed the area around her praying that there was no one around to see that, or hear it for that matter.
Cleared of snow she rolled standing up and breathing in, suddenly she stopped her heart pounding, on the wind were several scents, two somewhat familiar but another.......

Blithely ignorant to the world, Gorando plodded around a stand of trees... right into the distracted Ari's side. He tumbled over her with a quiet, startled yowl, and ended up lodged in a snowbank. His tail waved fitfully as he tried to pull himself free, trying to call out apologies through a mouthful of snow.

Ari was totally unaware of the young male she had smelt him but didnt think he was that close tell "BAM" once again she found her self on the flat of her back. With an angry snarl she bolted up, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? YOU COULD OF HURT SOMEONE.... more so" she stopped looking at the rear end of the sabre the front end clearly stuck in the snow bank.
She continued to growl as she stomped over to the sabre grabbing his tail not to gently she yanked him from the snow.
"Explain your self now." She glared down at him totally forgetting the other two scents.

A swift, painful tug at his backside, and Gorando flew out of the bank. He writhed on his back as the dark, raging female loomed over him. His ears drawn back, he sputtered - perhaps a bit too loudly - "WH. What was I doing? Uh, I was just - I mean, I was, uh - I WAS ON PATROL. Yeah, I was - chasing after a, er - a suspicious-looking..." he turned his head to the side, trying to escape her hate-filled gaze, and saw his opportunity as he saw an unfamiliar saber lurking in the woods a ways off.
"I WAS CHASING HIM!", he hollered, trying to roll onto his paws again.

Yes, these fools were definitely Fallenstand. He'd never really realized he'd encroached so closely upon their territory as he realized that himself and the strange female were approaching two more sabers...these two obviously as incompetent as she was. He rolled his eyes a bit as he listened to them causing a racket off in the distance. They were probably youngsters, and might as well have been cubs.
He ignored them for the moment, and focused on Rashbah, his emerald eyes surveying every movement. He could tell that she knew something was up, that something was amiss. More clever than he had initially assumed. He held his position until the yelling of one of the further off sabers caught his attention. He snorted softly, and ignored the blonde male, who he could see now as well. He waited to see what the girl would do, his long tail flicking in amused anticipation.

(( totally just realized I was spelling scent wrong... shame on me Dx ))
Rashbah didn't know quite what to do with herself... her allies were now close enough for her to reach if she were to sprint forward... and it appeared as though the young male had already spotted the foreigner who's scent she'd picked up. However, whether or not this made her safe was something she couldn't seem to determine.
At the very least her stalker wouldn't be brazen enough to charge with THREE Fallenstand in the ready... or... she suddenly felt a lump in her throat. The two in the distance hardly seemed 'ready'.. and she was too frightened to turn around and look for the stranger, leaving her with no judge of their size or position.
She swallowed. This was no way for a Fallenstand to act... like a weak, scared little kitten. Though she knew her father would never allow her to even SEE a battle with an enemy Saber, deep down she couldn't help but feel that he would be disappointed in her sudden cowardice. That thought alone was hardly bearable, and she could feel the courage starting to bubble up within her. She would stand her ground... for father!
Rashbah spun around, her ears pressed to the back of her head. With every hair on her back standing, she belched the loudest roar she could muster. And while it was riddled with fear and uncertainty, its volume was great enough to reverberate through the entire forest.

"Oh im sure there's a guy there..... id turn around and most likely you'd try to run off...." Ari stared at the young saber more so glared at him, her hate for his disturbance was written all over.
She was about to yell at him more when the forest seemed to vibrate with a roar not far off. Suddenly all her fur was up tail at ready nose in the direction of where it came. She breathed in there were the two scents almost mixed as one, the familiar and the not.
With out further thought she bounded off towards the noise.

((It's all good :B))
Dáire grinned a little bit as he listened to her roar...not very confident, were we? When the silence fell once more, he finally stalked out, sliding a short ways down the embankment before hopping down, standing a good distance ahead of her. "Hello hello!" he called out in a wry, somewhat sarcastic tone, a lazy grin on his maw as he observed the lady sabre out in the open. "Were you calling out for me?" he said with a laugh, starting to stalk closer. He would have proved to be a menacing sight to anyone who didn't know him. He was an older sabre, large and dark colored.
"I haven't seen anyone out here for a very long time." he confided when he was about twenty yards away, stopping in the snow. He watched her, stared at her almost, seeking direct eye contact in order to intimidate her. He was taking a chance here, after all, who knew what other sabres the roar would attract? He was on the lookout, ready to flee should any warriors enter the scene. He didn't need any sort of that trouble.

Rashbah took a step back from the male, deeply startled by his sudden appearance. One fear, however, was put to rest by the male's advance: he was no Frostcreek.
No self-respecting Frostcreek would introduce themselves to a Fallenstand, intimidation tactic or not. They were strictly stealth hunters, never to reveal their location until the last moment. As he certainly wasn't one of her own, he must be, she reasoned, a rouge.
Since the great war between the prides, rouges were thought to long since been a thing of the past... either aligning themselves with whichever pride offered the most protection, else being killed by the one that didn't. It was strange to see one this close to claimed territory, but frighting just the same. He may not have been Frostcreek, but wasn't above suspicion.
"Who.... who are you?" she questioned, trying her best to avoid eye contact. "You've no business being on Fallenstand land... if you, yourself, are not a Fallenstand..."
Her ears swiveled at the sound of running feet. She peered quickly to the side, catching a glimpse of the familiar Saber she'd smelled in the distance. Clearly this Saber was running towards her... and it couldn't have been at a better time

Dáire was indeed a rogue saber. He smirked toothily and toyed at the snow at his feet some, pondering where he would take this little encounter. He could always stir up a little s**t, that was usually fun...but she was awfully pretty, he thought to himself.
"Oh, is it Fallenstand land? I wasn't aware...I haven't seen any hunting parties this far out in months, or any sabers at all." he retorted with a flick of his tail, his claws flexing into the snow as he told a bit of a lie. He knew that some pride had been living there. He deliberately ignored the first question, not ready to reveal any information, just yet.
"I do what I please." he added with a scoff, his expression taking on a more menacing appearance, his green eyes slitting. He had lived near their territory for some time, perhaps a year or two, watching their hunting parties and scouts in silence, always managing to never be seen or noticed. Their land had good hunting, and he had managed to stay fairly healthy and well fed.
