So I am taking a jewlery and metal working class. I would like some suggestions for steampunk things I could make. heres what I need to do
I need to make a riveted item out of atlest 3 sheets of metal. Riveted meaning its held together with little rivets instead of solder. (copper, brass and nickle are available, and i can bring my own items, such as cogs and other things) The riveted item will be pretty flat, the pieces will be cut out of sheet metal and layered. I also have the option of adding a hammered or mirrored finish to it. Some examples of items include belt buckles, necklaces, pendants, broaches, ear rings and even bracelets.
I am considering making a clockwork belt buckle with a circular back, free rotating gears and an almost "Y" shaped connector bar thing.
The other item I need to make is a molded item of any sort. I need to be able to carve it from wax and make a mold of it. Some such items include rings, candle holders, cuff links, basically anything 3D that can't be cut from a sheet of metal. I don't have an idea of what I want this item to be yet.
Any suggestions, reference pics and detailed descriptions would be very helpful.
I will post pics of them when I am done also, but it won't be for a few weeks probly

Akonite for the wings I've been working on I've been contemplating having a friend work with me to make the "back" that will have the harness connected to it riveted or bolted layers of sheet copper...the only problem with this plan is finding someone who will that sounds like it would be reallllly heavy unless you mean the frame of the wings would be copper and the wings would be fabric

I made them from a broken parasol and need to solder / weld them together still
