Who: Aphismet & Rivener, Alex & Zul When: Late Afternoon Where: Durem strip-mall Weather: Warm sun, cool breeze
Rated PG Contains AR (Amorous Raevans) and CG (Clueless Guardians).
Alex wasn't sure if she rued the day she bought Zul a video game, or if it was some sort of blessing in disguise.
They'd spent the majority of the day in Durem, perusing the strip-mall stores - namely the video game and music stores - to see if there was anything new they could salvage for the Raevan. He'd beaten the game she got him for Christmas, some crashing game that he was eerily too good at, and it seemed he was interested in more. The Italian couldn't rightly say no, not when it kept him busy while she slept, and thus they had entered the music stores to buy a pair of wireless headphones that were attuned to the television. They'd found a few things that had piqued her charge's interest, and she could only pray they'd keep him entertained for more than five minutes.
It was an expensive trip, but the woman's sleep was priceless, for as little as she got on a daily basis.
They meandered along the walkway together in content silence, she reading over some booklet for a game with bag in hand, and he fussing with his hair after several attempts at wearing headphones (one had ended up pierced, so she'd had to buy two sets). Alex donned a simple black tank top with a silver embossed tiger running on the side over dark blue jeans, having decided not to dress for work since work wasn't happening that day. She didn't really notice that Zul was leading her onwards, placing the booklet between her teeth momentarily to adjust her hair within its low twist.
"Here?"
Green eyes glanced upwards at where they'd stopped, retrieving the book from between her teeth and sticking into the non-descript bag in her grasp. "Here?" she repeated in surprise, looking over the familiar coffee shop. She was momentarily stunned by the irony of ending up here, as the last time she had come to this place, she hadn't been paying attention and had run into Aphismet. "Heh," she quirked a light smile, "the last time I was here, I gave Aphismet his Gwee, Munchies."
Zul's bright blue eyes turned over his woman with quiet curiosity. "He has a Zoe too?" He tried to imagine more than one Lorenzo running rampant, only serving to make him smile. He wasn't sure the uncertain white-haired man could handle the likes of that!
Alex laughed, apparently sharing the same mental image. "No, his is a girl, named Munchies. She's a sweet little thing. Maybe you'll meet her some day," she remarked off-handedly, eyes a little unfocused at the memory of nursing the little dragon. How time did fly!
The demonic Frei smiled knowingly. "Maybe," he agreed in a nonchalant manner, "I'd like to see Rivener again." The smile turned into something less scholarly and something decidedly more like a smirk.
"I just bet you do," the Italian replied with good humor, amusement on her features. She still didn't know everything that had happened that day a month and a half ago, but she didn't fault either of the Raevans. It had been nice to see her friend again, and to meet Rivener, if even only for a brief moment.

Aphismet didn't normally get invited on Rivener's outings anymore, so he'd been more than pleased when the Scorpion asked him to take him somewhere. His baffled reply of Wh-what? Why? had been met with a sly smirk, and Rivener had casually said that he just wanted to spend more time together. The important question had then become what are we going to be doing, exactly? And after a while of discussing things, Rivener had said he wanted to try eating some food. But not food Aphismet made; he wanted to try something ELSE first, get used to eating, and THEN he'd try Aphi's cooking. The chef had been more than happy to oblige.
And so they'd randomly ended up in a small strip mall area, heading for a coffee shop Aphismet recalled having particular good snacks. He'd received Munchies from Alex there, so long ago. The little girl now ruled the house as a Queen should, bending all the other local pets to her whims. That brought Aphismet to thinking about Alex, and he seemed rather distracted as he walked.
Rivener had his MP3 player along, buds in his long ears, listening to J-rock that Vyn had recommended. He wasn't paying much attention to his guardian just yet, the pair of them would have more than enough time to talk when they sat at the coffee shop to eat. The trip there might as well be silent so they didn't run out of things to say.
As the pair turned the last corner towards the shop, Rivener's eyes almost instantly found Zul, as though drawn there. He grinned widely and instantly pulled the earphones out, shoving them and his player into a pocket, smoothing down his jacket and pausing in front of a window to fix his hair and make sure he was as damned dashing as he could.
Aphismet stopped, confused as to why his Raevan was suddenly primping like a girl about to see her crush. "What are you doing?"
Rivener just straightened and motioned towards the shop with his chin, clearing his throat.
Aphi's dark eyes slid back over and scoured the populace on the terrace, spotting Zul and- gasp!- Alex! The chef blushed a dark crimson and he looked down at himself; faded blue jeans, his comfiest t-shirt, a loose zip-up sleeveless fleece vest, and old, ugly sneakers. He turned to the window and did exactly what Rivener'd been doing, garnering a chuckle from the Raevan. s**t s**t s**t s**t... Aphi didn't know how to act, he wasn't ready for this! It didn't come naturally to him!
"Want a little liquid encouragement?" Rivener asked mockingly.
"Very funny. Ok, it's not a big deal. It's not. It's just people having a drink. That's all. No big deal." Clearing his throat and trying to look casual (hard to do when your hands were wringing the ends of your jacket), Aphismet walked forward.
Rivener followed behind, keeping his head turned up and looking as regal and impressive as he could, oozing presence and confidence. Heh, I'm a Sigel now. He's going to be FLOORED.
"Ah, A-Alex, hi!" Aphismet began as soon as he was within earshot, walking towards the two. "What a weird coincidence, meeting here again!" He chuckled slightly, just a tad uneasy.

"Strange place to give him a Zoe," Zul continued nonchalantly, arms crossing over his partial chest with a quirked, small brow.
Alex gave him an amused smile. "There is no right place for the right moments, Zul, remember that," she gently tapped on his nose, chuckling at his perplexed expression. "I'll get you something to keep warm but--" She paused as she heard her name, turning in surprise. What were the chances of...?
"Aphismet!" she cried out happily, moving to meet him half way and wrap him up in her Infamous Greeting, the Italian embrace complete with a friendly kiss to his cheek. "Of all the places in...! Took the words right out of my mouth!" Her grin was wide and earnest, the bag swinging against the crook of her elbow along with her jaunty movements. "So nice to see you again! What brings you 'round here?" The woman had not yet seen Rivener.
Unfortunately, her charge had.
Blue eyes lit upon the familiar floating form and near doubled in size, the brilliance taking on the bright color of his gorget, smile slowly fading as his jaw came to a rest, slightly agape. He even arched back in surprise, wings rattling with an effort to not flare and knock the nearest bystander senseless, one hand held over where his heart should theoretically be. To say Zul was breathless was an understatement.
The demonic Frei suddenly moved. He practically bent forward with effort, zipping beyond the two awkward humans to greet Rivener, floating just a bit lower in admiration, wonderment on his exotic features. The reverance didn't stop there, Zul's bare fingers immediately reaching out to touch, to feel this new body that was not there before! And free of clothes! Blue eyes drank in the new parts that his fingers explored, shifting up the length of Rivener's abdomen in a fairly inappropriate manner, pausing just beneath his chest. "Rivenerrrr," he purred in an amazed, smokey voice, "beautiful. Amazing. Gorgeous."
Words, words, why did he always suffer for words when he needed them? Instead, Zul floated up high enough to press a kiss to the Sigel's jaw just above his neck piece, a bit more than friendly than his woman had bestowed upon Aphismet. "Like this very much, Rivenerr~" he purred, finally letting his wings set outwards, warding off anyone who got too close. His moment. His.

Aphismet's eyes widened in surprise as Alex barreled forward to wrap him up in her usual hug, kissing his cheek. Slightly more uncomfortable than his friend, Aphi hugged back tentatively before letting go so they could talk. His face was colored a permanent shade of red, although he tried to play it off as quickly as possible. Alex was apparently not making a big deal out of their so-called "date", so Aphi shouldn't either.
"Ah, erm, yes, it's quite the coincidence. We just came here for some of their cakes and quiches and whatnot, whatever Riv wants to try... I certainly didn't think I'd see you here! I mean, you might come here sometimes, of course, I just meant it's weird that we're both here together. I MEAN at the same time. Hahah." Oh god, that nervous chuckle was pathetic. Aphi looked aside and brought a hand up behind his neck, scratching at his hair. "S-so, that's what brings us here. F-food. What about you, what brings YOU here?" Too engrossed in trying not to make a complete a** of himself, Aphismet forgot to check up on Rivener and Zul, barely remembering what had occurred at the end of the date last time. Aphi's main memory from then had been the thorough talking-to Rivener got on the way home about poisoning people with aphrodisiacs...
Rivener couldn't have asked for a better reaction. Zul had been struck breathless, staring, looking like he was beholding a GOD or something. It was damned hard not to let that go to the Scorpion's head, and he tried mightily to suppress his natural urge to gloat and show off and bask in his own vanity. No, he had to be charismatic, personable, utterly incredible so that people will praise him again and again, enjoying his character just as much as his physical beauty. But urgh, was it ever hard!
Especially in the next few moments, as Zul floated forward to shower Rivener with even more compliments and attention. That hand that touched at Rivener's new abdomen sent an unfamiliar tingle through the longer spine, making Riv's lips part in a soft gasp. He curled those lips up into a grateful (and somewhat confident) smile an instant later, red eyes glittering with appreciation for Zul's words, his actions.
"Mmmmhhh," Riv purred softly at the kiss on his jaw, grinning at the demon-frei who had, Rivener just noticed, chosen to float slightly lower this time. "I'm so glad you like, Zuuuuuuul... I thought of you instantly the moment I grew, you know why? I can actually take my clothes off now. All I end up wearing are these belts... Wanna see?" Tilting his head slightly, Rivener thumbed at the cord holding his jacket closed, completely unconcerned by the fact that they were being watched by all the patrons on the terrasse and quite a few passers-by as well.

"What Rivener wants to try?" Alex repeated in a softly baffled tone, curious green eyes turning over the Chef's face. There were a few things she didn't understand, and chief amongst them was his insistance of Rivener eating and his nervousness. Was it because of their last meeting? The woman smiled softly, a touch sad; it had been a nice meeting, to be sure, but it was a coincidence to her, not a date. Aphismet hadn't actually asked her, and thus, it was far easier for her to understand it as a mere...meeting. Like now. She supposed that might have been the root of his nerves, but the part about Rivener...? As Aphismet looked away, she glanced over his shoulder.
Oh. Crap.
She couldn't see the newly born Sigel, not around her charge, who was apparently glued to Rivener. Alex would have groaned with embarrassment if not for the fact she didn't want to startle Aphismet again. Her mind whispered that it wasn't becoming of her to be jealous of a Raevan having more of her friend's attention, which she hastily pushed aside with her own minute blush. "We just...um, I was buying some new stuff for Zul." She held up the bag on her arm, which swayed as if in acknowledgement. "I was feeling a little hungry, and, ha, wouldn't you know...here we are. Wou-would you like to...join...or um, cu-could we join you? If you're not, you know, expecting others, o-or, just want to spend time with Rivener." STUTTERING? Ugh, what she needed right now was a hard drink, something to shut her up!
The demon was elated that Rivener received him well, that his words and touch were befitting of the Sigel's new form. Bright eyes grew wide, just a bit more so, his grin forming to follow suit, nodding once. "Would love to see Rivenerrr, all of him," Zul purred in a more-than-friendly tone, gaze dipping momentarily to those belts. Skin, and belts? Oh, but the Frei might have just developed a fondness for belts in those split seconds.
It took the Raevan several moments to realize he'd have to let Rivener go, a thought that didn't set well with him, but he had to make sacrifices for the greater good. With a look that loudly proclaimed his dislike of having to part so soon, the younger male floated back slowly, languidly, hands falling away from the longer body to rest idly at his sides. Zul looked over the long hair, the light highlights and the red eyes that set it all off, not in the least bit wondering why he was so fond of the darker, older Raevan; the other's smile and honeyed words made the deal even sweeter.
A brief thought flitted through his eyes, of growing to match to the Sigel, but it was gone just as quickly as it formed. No, he was happy with how he was for the time being, and the idea of lavishing the attention on Rivener instead was good enough. He'd have his moment to bask when the time came. Stealing another's thunder was not his style, but rather, to create his own in a memorable fashion.

Aphismet blinked back over with a sheepish smile as Alex explained that they'd been buying things, lifting the bag. Ah, so it was indeed quite a coincidence that they met here! The italian could easily have just walked right by, or not stopped at all, or stopped somewhere else! Just as the chef was pondering all this, Alex hesitantly began asking if they could join each other, all sitting together... stuttering? Alex, stuttering?! She was always such a composed, easygoing person! ...Was she as awkward about what Aphismet still considered a date as he was?
Well, at least hearing her stutter made Aphi feel a little less like a complete idiot, since he wasn't the only one a little confused about things, apparently. He could smile with a bit more sincerity. "If you don't mind, that'd be great! I'd intended on call-... er..." He blushed darkly, clearing his throat and looking aside with a nervous chuckle. Way to start a conversation, moron, he berated himself. "..S-so, you've been busy at work a lot? Does the Lab keep you busy? Isi tells me he sees you a lot, maybe I'm a tiny little bit, erm... jealous?" Taking a seat, Aphismet blushed even darker, stunned that he'd summoned up the courage to SAY that.
Rivener felt his pride expand at Zul's words, and at the look he was receiving from the demon-frei's striking blue eyes. He waited until Zul had moved enough away that he could watch easily, and then he slowly undid the cord from the front of his jacket, looking down at it as though it was the most interesting thing in the world, feigning complete ignorance of the other pair of eyes watching. The only sign that he knew Zul was looking was the slight up-turn to one corner of his lips.
The cord was stuffed into a pocket and Rivener rolled his shoulders, shrugging out of the jacket and letting it drop from his arms to hold it in one clawed hand. Good thing it was nice and warm-ish today if you stayed out of the wind. Riv would easily claim he was only sunning himself if Aphismet put up a fuss about the sudden amount of skin he was showing. Not that the Scorpion was sparing many thoughts for his guardian right now (or for the handful of other patrons staring with wide eyes). Ruby orbs flitted up to focus on Zul again, the Sigel's free hand sliding up his own abdomen to prop at his hip, posing in that way he'd practiced, the way that looked completely casual and yet absolutely stunning. In his own opinion, at least.
"You like?" he asked, tilting his head up and shooting the frei a sultry, honey-coated smirk.

Soft laughter returned his first broken statement, the woman shaking her head and idly smoothing a stray lock of hair from her cheek, green eyes darting around the area before eventually resting on Aphismet's face again. "I'd like to! And it's okay, I know we're...we're both busy, a-ah..." The rest of the words fairly died in her throat at the next comment, biting the inside of her lip to keep herself from replying with something immediately stupid or redundant. It was quite the battle, but perhaps the years had calmed her somewhat, allowing her some iota of thought.
"You don't...um, need to be that," she replied in a shy tone of voice, suddenly feeling a bit like the last time they'd met on Valentine's; a bit whimsical, both more comfortable with her friend and yet more comfortable than she should be. "I adore Isi to bits, like my own little brother, I think he'd rather beat me over the head somedays than anything else." Conversation, this was good, this was something she could handle!
"But, yuh-you're free to come by, you know," she darkened again at her stuttering, plucking at her bag a little, "I'm sure it'd make Isi happy, and Kee-Kyou likes you. And of course-I'd-be-happy." The last part was said a bit more quickly, flustered by her own apparent inability to control her voice. With a firm mental stomp of her foot in her mind as though to threaten herself, she repeated more assuredly, "Could have a brief lunch or something."
Like any good admirer, or perhaps like any being with even the smallest fraction of attraction, Zul watched. His gaze followed the curling length of fabric as Rivener undid it, lifting to take in the enraptured red eyes and curve of lips before lowering again to observe the item being removed completely. He drank in the sight of shoulders being revealed, that final line of fabric removed from the lean chest with a pleased, admiring sigh. He suddenly felt like his grasp on vocabulary was failing him again.
As the Sigel struck a pose, Zul closed their distance again, extending his fingers; this time, his motions were slower, as if he would drink of Rivener's skin now that he could see and feel it. His hand lit upon the arm that used to be sleeved, digits drawing up and over the bared collar bone before sliding around Rivener's shoulder, tearing his eyes away from roving over the impressive growth to instead rest upon the scorpion's face, admiring him from a closer vantage point. "Very much," he replied in a softer voice, the lower tone losing the smokey quality and instead sounding more husky and whispered.
Guardians, patrons, the world was forgotten in favor of his own personal spotlight on Rivener, the Sigel having his undivided attention. "Like so much, Rivenerrr," he purred in that same voice, fingers finding and curling into the shaggy, bi-colored locks over the other's shoulder. "Mmn, wish I could keep you."

Aphismet couldn't believe this was ALEX he was talking to. She seemed so different from what Aphi remembered! She was shy, even stuttering, trying to play off her discomfort with smiles and friendly words. The chef felt his own confidence returning stronger. If he had been faced with the usual teasing, sure-of-herself Alex, surely the chef would have felt like such a giant fool that his own stuttering and hesitation would have only gotten worse. Like this, though, Aphismet could slowly go back to being his normal self, the one who might maybe be a tiny bit more attractive to someone like her...
"Hahah, Isi would like to hit a LOT of people over the head sometimes. Even me. He likes you too, sometimes he talks about you and the other lab folks at home. I'm glad he got hired there; I was often worried he'd turn into a grumpy hermit and pushed him to try and get a job, which he wanted nothing to do with. But he had the idea of volunteering for Dr Kyou, and I'm so glad it's working out!"
She continued talking, offering off-hand that he should feel free to visit, stunning the white-haired chef with the sudden declaration that Kyou liked him. They'd hardly ever met, and had only really spoken once that time at Alex's party, sharing some drinks and watching Rivener play poker with Lazarus... But what grabbed Aphi's attention most was the way Alex just quickly added that she'd be happy to see him, trying to slide that comment in there. Aphismet chuckled, blushing slightly. "That'd be nice. I haven't cooked for you in-... hhmm, I've NEVER cooked for you, have I? That one time at the lab was only sandwiches from nearby... Hunh. I'll make something nice and bring it over soon, then."
"...And, erm... W-well, what I meant to call about, that I was saying earlier, erh... Aw hell, I'll just say it. D-did you want to go see a movie with me? M-maybe have Dinner first? ...Would be fun?" The last was meant to be a declaration but only turned out a question, the chef's face looking too shy and unsure to be very convincing.
Rivener felt a very unfamiliar sensation along his new, elongated spine as Zul's fingers slid over his skin. Shivers. The Scorpion smiled in complete contentment, allowing the touching happily. Zul was positively drinking him in, examining every single new inch of skin and admiring it. Bright blue eyes turned up to Rivener's red and the verdict was rendered: Zul liked this Very Much.
Chuckling breathily in bliss, absolutely pleased at Zul's attention and declaration, Rivener brought his arms around to wrap to Zul's back, clasping his fingers together there casually, the disrobed shirt still hanging from one hand. Stinger-adorned wings flared and fluttered softly, a sign of Rivener's supreme happiness. "Keep me? Mnh, that would be nice. I wish you could keep me too, Zul. Or I keep you? Either way." Rivener shivered again at the fingers in his hair, leaning his head down dangerously close to the other's lips. The Sigel couldn't be bothered to remember that this was a public place, that Zul was only a Frei, a NEW one at that, that tons of people were watching their behavior with bright red faces. "Do you like me best out of everyone ever?" Riv asked, wanting to be the favorite. Wanting to be the only if he could.

Light laughter escaped her at his statement, nodding enthusiastically at the thought of Isikoro and his seemingly frozen scowl. "He usually has a good reason to want to though, I can be a bit overbearing with him sometimes. But it's all out of affection." Alex was pleased to learn this bit of information about Isi from Aphismet; she greatly doted on the teen, and to know that it was Isi's idea to begin with was also wonderous. It meant he really did have the big heart she knew he had! Why, she was going to give him a helluva hug next time she saw him, make him blush three shades shy of--
"Mm, no, sadly," she tore herself out of her plottings against the pale-haired youth, turning the thoughts into a fond smile that she put the full shine of onto Aphismet. Alex didn't quite have the chance to declare how delightful that would be, or how eager she was to finally get to partake in something that Aphismet loved so much, because the next words hit her in a blind spot. Or rather, the middle of her forehead. It earned the same reaction of surprised green eyes and a small sound that turned into another soft bit of breathy laughter. No. It wasn't a date, wasn't a date, it was just a movie and dinner between friends!!
...her fight to remain cool and poised failed miserably. Alex excitedly wrapped the chef up in another hug, partially bent over him from his seated position. "I'd love to!" she giggled breathlessly, "It'd be real nice to go out and have fun with you! You deserve a bit of fun, you know that, right?" Notadate, notadate. It was the mantra she kept forcefully repeating in her head in fear of exploding with nervousness or worse and making Aphismet regret his decision.
The demonic Frei kept his wings against his back for the time being, not curled tightly but not flaring either, content to admire Rivener's impressive wing span instead. Zul was pleased that the handsome Raevan wanted to keep him in turn, giving him a strange but welcome warm feeling in his chest that had nothing to do with his powers. The smile on his lips warmed, an expression wore only for this special occasion, borrowing a page from Rivener's book and putting as much honey and unspoken suggestion behind it as possible. He liked this more and more!
His pupils dilated as the Sigel pressed in close, feeling oddly, as though his very breath had been captured by those gentle words so intimately near. Zul only briefly thought of the other Raevans he'd met - those he had unwittingly guided, played with, offered support - and none of them were like the Sigel wrapped around him. The humans...were but a blip in his mind, as if nothing existed outside of those sultry red eyes gazing back upon him. "Rivenerrr," he purred the name softly, mindful of their close proximity so as not to ruin the moment, "you're the best. Yes. Like Rivener most and best."
He made a mental note to find out more words that expressed what he was trying to say. There was a bit of frustration in the back of his mind at how limited yet his vocabulary was, and how hard it was to tell Rivener anything without sounding like he was just agreeing like some complacent child. The thought was pushed away for the moment, Zul instead wanting to soak up the presence of Rivener. His time. He would have it.

Aphismet let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding as Alex finally replied with a giggly "I'd love to!" The chef's building nerves all unraveled in a rush, leaving him feeling noodly and relieved. He grinned at the hug, lifting an arm to pat her on the back shyly. He was blushing, he knew he was, but he couldn't help it so he tried to cover it up by keeping his head down or to the side, not looking directly at Alex for a bit.
"Ah, deserve it? I suppose," Aphi answered with a self-deprecating chuckle, running a hand through his hair. "S-so, uhm, what kind of movie do you like, then? We should wait and go to one we'd both enjoy, right? I like suspense movies, and comedies best. Action films are ok too, but I don't know. It seems to me that when you've seen one building blow up while a guy dives from it in slow-motion, you've seen them all." He laughed slightly. He had no idea Alex was single-mindedly clinging to the idea that this wasn't a date. In Aphismet's mind it was the exact opposite: Oh my god, she said yes! We're going to go on a date!
Rivener's eyelids fluttered to half-closed as Zul answered, his lips still so close to Riv's, the breathy purr of the Scorpion's own name ghosting across the Sigel's skin. A shiver ran down his spine. Elated, Riv spread his wings as wide as they could go for a moment before wrapping them around the two of them, hiding them from view as much as possible as he leaned down that small final gap between them, pressing his lips to the Frei's.
"Mmmmmnnnnh," he moaned softly as the short kiss ended, tucking his head next to Zul's carefully, avoiding their horns but pressing more kisses along the jaw and neck presented to him. "Me too, Zuuuuuul. I like you the very best, you're my very favorite! Mn. My Zuuuul." Riv tightened his hold, hugging Zul close and leaving a small mark on the nearly-naked Demon. The small hickey on Zul's shoulder wasn't harshly placed on, just slowly and resolutely infused on the skin. "There, now that shows you're mine. Want to leave one on me?" Riv offered with a sultry smile, tilting his neck up to offer it to the blue-eyed male.

The exciteable woman took a seat next to the chef, resting the bag over her lap, tilting her head at his inquiry. Alex bit the inside of her lip, nodding in agreement with his opinion, fingers lightly picking at the bag in a contained manner of expressing her nervous energy. "I like everything!" she laughed, very likely predictable. "Oh, everything but horror flicks." The Italian crinkled her nose, a bit of her tongue sticking out between her teeth. "I don't mind scary movies, but the ones that depend on jump factors usually end up with me huddling in someone else's lap."
Okay, so...maybe that wasn't the right thing to say. "I mean, y'know, heh..." A soft breath of repressed giggles escaped her. She was trying not to act like she was eighteen again. "I get all jumpy for a week or so, my imagination is potent enough, doesn't need the encouragement." Alex gave Aphismet a light, embarrassed smile at confessing her small fear of horror movies. It was something she hoped Eiry never learned. "So, um, long story short, suspense or comedy sounds perfect. I haven't been to the movies in so long, I don't even know what's out." She pursed her lips in thought, trying to think on the local theatres and places around them to eat, her giddiness a stubborn weight still threatening to burst.
The kiss was every bit as exquisite as he remembered and more so, humming very softly into it and against the Sigel's lips. Rivener had a taste, although he couldn't quite pinpoint it yet as anything but Rivener himself: dark, pleasant, with something just beneath the surface he couldn't put his finger on. Zul decided he didn't really need to figure it out, as half the enjoyment was the mystique and thrill that came with their stolen time. "'m happy," he responded in a soft, almost slurred tone, a bit surprised by the lips traversing elsewhere than his lips.
He was momentarily stilled by the gentle pressure on his shoulder, turning wide blue eyes to observe the mark. What was this? Could he keep it? His attention turned back to Rivener, eyes lidding with intense pleasure at the small gesture of claiming. "Yes, Rivener's only," he agreed, ridiculously pleased. The offer to return the effort gave him another pause, curiously looking over the Sigel's face. A joint owning? To share? Yes...he really liked that!
The demonic Frei's eyes lowered over the exposed neck, a twinge of an unusual hunger flicking through his crystal gaze. He closed the distance; though not as skilled as the Sigel, Zul learned by example best, remembering that light feeling of skin being tugged and the warmth there. When he finished - a bit more firmly than Rivener had done, the mark slightly darker with his enthusiasm - he kissed over it and looked to Rivener with a self-satisfied smile, eyes more heavily lidded in his contentment. "My Rivenerrrr," he purred softly, lifting one hand to gently touch the older Raevan's jaw.
Oh, his woman would love this! Proof of something special!

Aphismet was smiling constantly, a silly expression painted on his features. It only faltered momentarily to be replaced by a whole-faced blush as Alex mentioned scary movies sending up "huddling in someone else's lap", the words bringing up mental images that made the chef shift in his seat self-consciously. He cleared his throat and tried to banish those thoughts (Ah, she'd be so warm, wouldn't she?) as Alex continued on to admit that scary movies made her afraid for weeks afterwards.
"Ah, I'm rather used to the scary things. Riv and Isi are big fans, Eiry's part ghost, and the house is haun-... er..." Aphi blinked, wondering how good an idea it was to tell her this. Then she might not want to come over, ever! "I-is ha-a-awfully dark at night what with the lack of streetlamps and creepy marsh in the back yard." Ah, good save, he told himself with a pat on the back. "I'm not really in the know about movies either, but a good comedy would probably be nice to watch. I'm sure there's SOME kind of movie like that! W-we could just pick a day and GO, and pick a movie at random that's playing?" He smiled shyly, still reeling from the fact that she'd said "yes" in the first place.
Rivener gasped at the lips on his neck, Zul's marking feeling decidedly more... enthusiastic than Riv's had been. Not that the Scorpion minded in the least, of course; he rather enjoyed the possessive eagerness behind Zul's actions. The only reason Rivener hadn't done it just as harshly had been fear of frightening the Frei, driving him away. But this, mmmmh! Riv let his eyes slip closed and his wings trembled with pleasure and happiness around them, a constant soft rustling of leather.
"Ah!" Riv breathed softly in surprise at the gentle kiss that followed the leaving of the mark, such a stark contrast to what he'd just been doing. One of Rivener's clawed hands lifted up to finger at the demon's shoulder where the Sigel's mark was, smiling in contentment against the fingers on his own jaw. "Mnh, my Zuuuul."
What was this feeling? Holy hell, like Riv's chest was threatening to crack open, his heart thumping crazily, his whole body heating up. Riv had felt attracted to others before, but nothing like this! ...he frowned in mild confusion, refusing to think on it overly much. "Nh," Riv mumbled instead, pressing his lips to Zul's again, distracting himself with another kiss.

Alex listened raptly as Aphismet talked, still inwardly amazed at how far he'd come. She was deeply proud of him, although she wasn't sure how to express it without being overbearing; his pause and switch of words brought her back to their conversation, shaking her head with a delighted smile. "I don't mind dark houses and swamps. I think your house is beautiful and has its own charm." She remembered it from the Halloween party, remembered Isi showing his hair and Aphismet in his full costume. It felt like yesterday, yet so long ago!
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, her fingers continued to gently smooth over the handle of the bag against her elbow, her smile a bit shy but her words enthusiastic. "Sounds perfect," she nodded in agreement, "we'll just pick a day and go! See where the wind takes us, within radius of the theatre, anyway." A light giggle followed her words, realizing that she was leaning a bit towards the white-haired chef as they talked. It was just to hear each other better. Right?
"What about dinner?" she asked with a mischevious glint in her eye. "Depending on what theatre we pick, I might just have to drag you back to my place for a meal." Alex paused, thoughtful, biting the inside of her lip again. "Maybe that's too much," she murmured softly, before speaking up again, "I'd like to have you over at some point. Lorenzo would like to see you again I'm sure, and maybe you can finally give me some of those painting pointers!"
The lazy smile curved upwards, almost Cheshire-esque beneath the heavily lidded gaze. "Yes," he agreed with the possession used in hand with his name, floating closer to the Sigel. No doubt the looks they were garnering were something to behold, something he would have eagerly absorbed and noted, but Rivener...the scorpion Frei was all his blue eyes could see. The rest of the world had disappeared in favor of warm arms and a honeyed voice.
He found himself again gazing at the darker Raevan, complacent but curious. It had seemed to him that the others he'd met, he was able to associate with something else; be it himself, something in nature, or a memory. Rivener was different. Zul wasn't entirely sure how, but it didn't seem important just then, deciding it was enough to acknowledge he was different and more than the rest. All that mattered in that moment was the brush of hair against his cheek as Rivener lowered his head, the warm touch on his lips. Kiss trumps all.
A light purr returned the sound made by the Sigel, a sweet, rumbling vibration that curled in his throat but didn't seem to make it beyond his busy lips. Zul felt as though he was just a mass of reactions when Rivener was around, little more than the shadow cast by his light. He breathed in the other's scent, breaking the union of their lips long enough to murmur softly against him. "Taste good. My Rivener..." Bone wings flapped in contentment, staying close; if the day never ended, he would be just fine with that.

Aphismet smiled and let out a soft sigh of relief as Alex didn't seem to pick up on the almost-blurted word "Haunted". She thought the house had its own kind of charm, and it was true as far as Aphi could see; that house WAS rather singular. The topic ran its course then, leaving it behind in favor of something more pleasant; discussing their dinner plans before the theatre.
"T-too much? Why would that be too much? I would love to g-... go to your place for dinner. IF you also agree to come to mine sometime, so that I can make good on my offer and cook for you. Besides, you really should come see Munchies! She'd remember you, I'm sure." Aphismet was silently thrilled, imagining what kind of house Alex might live in. He'd never been there. Without realizing, Aphi was leaning forward now too, just slightly, leaning one elbow on the table conversationally.
"But ah, to make sure we don't just end up staying at your place, we should probably go somewhere to eat, this time, yes." He blushed at the implications staying at her place suddenly brought up in his mind. He hoped she hadn't jumped to similar embarrassing conclusions. "Maybe a nice French place? Or would it be too presumptuous of me to bring you to the place I work, so I can show you what it's like?" He blushed a bit, feeling like he was bragging. Honestly, he really did only want to show her where he worked, and well, okay, maybe he wanted to impress her a little.
Rivener shivered happily as the kiss ended, his lips curling up into his honeyed smile, red eyes half-lidded with contentment. "You too, taste good," Riv answered lowly, raising a hand to run fingers through the dual-toned pale hair. With a deep sigh, Rivener tightened his hold further on the demon frei, satisfied to simply float there holding him. He was busy admiring the other's features now, those stark blue eyes, gorgeous lips, perfect cheekbones, that strangely fitting mark on the forehead... Hair framing the face perfectly, the color of it, the texture of it... Those horns, so pretty and mesmerizing.
And beyond the horns, Alex and Aphi sitting at the table, both so engrossed in one another that they'd forgotten their Raevans completely. Rivener grinned, pleased with this turn of events. It seemed that setting up the two humans had been a masterful plan, as they now ignored what their wards did. But, Riv knew if Aphismet suddenly turned to find them like this he wouldn't be pleased at all. He might even get so angry he would forbid Riv from seeing Zul again. The Scorpion definitely did not want THAT. He supposed he should be grown-up about this and quit while he was ahead, for now.
"Mnh. Want to go sit? I don't want our guardians to be mad at us for hugging too long," he said soothingly, trying to smooth over his request with soft caresses of fingers through short, pale hair. "We can sit close and still touch, though. Hm?" The Sigel tilted his head handsomely and smiled his most winning, convincing smile. The idea was starting to grow on him, in fact. He WANTED to sit and talk with Zul, not just half-molest him. Riv realized he'd never even asked what the Frei liked, what he did with his free time, what he feeds on. Rivener wanted to know everything. "Come, let's sit, Zul. We can talk about things."

The woman's expression brightened considerably, still minutely uncertain, but that was quickly being washed away by Aphismet's encouragement. "You're...you're sure? I mean, it just...erm, seems like it might be..." She mumbled softly, not shying away even though she was clearly embarrassed. Alex wasn't sure she could even finish the half mumbled statement, letting it go fragmented in favor of picking up on the chef's words. "That's a deal," she agreed with another wide smile, thinking fondly of the Gwee she'd seen at the Halloween party. Munchies, and Parfait; her little girls, she'd always think of them as such.
Slender brows lofted with silent inquiry at the mention of staying at her place. "Why would we stay at my place? You'd want to stay thhhhohIsee." Her tanned cheeks took on an interesting shade of scarlet at the conclusion that she did, unfortunately, jump to, mind trying to scramble back and out of that implication; going out for the first time, as friends or anything else, she didn't need to get so damn distracted!
Thankfully, Aphismet yet again saved her from herself, bouncing a bit in her seat and tucking her fingers against her lips as though to shush herself. "Could we?" she asked with quiet excitement, eyes brimming with the emotions she was keeping inside. "I'd really love that! I...it'd be really great to see how far you've come. I really am proud of you, Aphismet." Alex finally let herself admit the little fact and nothing more; no need to overshadow the sincerity of the confession with overzealous words.
The exposed protusion of his spine seemed to shiver; the way Rivener was looking at him was nearly as delicious as their kiss, although far sweeter. Zul couldn't help but smile in return, less playful and suggestive, a simple warm expression of admiration, far more open in his affections than his blundering woman. The Sigel mentioned their guardians, and suddenly the world fell back into place around him, almost disappointed. "Yes," he agreed again, beginning to think it was the only word he could intelligently hold onto. "Don't mind them much," he admitted after a moment of thought, "but don't want to upset our time." He already knew his woman was less than thrilled that he was attached to Rivener, and the last thing he wanted to do was give her a reason to make it more difficult to see him. The thoughts were neatly wiped away by that smile, easily convinced just with the suggestion, let alone the look that would have knocked his knees if he had any.
Zul lightly pulled out of Rivener's embrace, hands sliding over the bare length of arms to rest within the Sigel's palms, fingers curling around them. "Would like to talk, learn about my Rivener." The slightly surprised look on his face was a give away that he'd come to the same conclusion as his older companion. There was no shame in him for being physically attracted to the Sigel before knowing anything about him beyond his name; these things could be remedied, learned over the time they spent together. He was not without his reasoning.
In a rare show of awareness of his own words, he made an effort of speaking more clearly and in full sentences, twined fingers lightly tugging Rivener towards where he thought they might 'sit.' "What does my Rivener like to do when not with his Zul?" his Cheshire smile returned, eyes aglow with intruige. He'd never really spoken to any of the Raevans on a personal level, the thought now both enticing and exciting. There was much to learn...
